I would have removed it myself, but hey it was only $19.95 and I had a coupon for a free tire repair. So, I tried calling this place. No one will ever answer the phone. I left my house in Makakilo to drive there and make an appointment. I scheduled for the next day. I was told to come in an hour earlier. The next day came. I took my car in. The salesman said to leave my car. I left my car and went to grab a bite to eat. An hour later this salesman told me my tire was unrepairable and I had to buy a new one! Thing is had I not know my car and know how to do small repairs I would have been "upsold" to buy a new tire. I started to wonder how many people they ripped off.. He was able to get my vehicle in on time and was conscience about letting me know the progress as I was in the waiting area. What a day....4/30/22. I had an appointment, which I scheduled mid of that week. Set the appointment for 8am. Showed up at 7:45 and there was already a line about 10 deep. I finally got into the building at 8:20. I went there to have 4 new rims put on. I told them to take my current tires and put them on the new rim and to take off the old tires from that new rim and discard it. Hour after hour passed. No one came out or called to let me know what was going on. Eventually, after about 3 hours, someone came out and said the they aren't able to switch over the TPMS sensors and valve stems to the new rims. They ordered new valve stems, but they were the wrong ones. Okay, so for the sake of just getting the job done, I told them install regular valve stems and ill worry about the TPMS later. After another hour or so, someone comes out again and says factory lug nuts wont work and that they needed spline lug nuts. They said they dont stock this and that ill need to get them myself. So being without a car since mine was 8 feet in the air, I had to call for a ride and go to waipahu Oriellys. I eventually get back with the spline lug nuts and they get to work putting the rims on. its now about 2pm. I go up the front counter to check on things and they tell me the rims arent sitting flush to the wheel hub. They say theres a tiny gap, but theyll just put it on anyways and they straight up tell me "well put them on, but every day that you drive this car will be a risk". So im standing there like.... okay, so why are you continuing to do the work? By the time they finish messing around, its now about 4:30. I go to the front, pay the $200 something bill and drive the car around the parking lot. Something immediately felt weird, so I drive it back and tell them to take the rims off, put my stock rims back on my tires and reinstall the TPMS sensors. Its so late in the day that I have no choice but to leave the car there overnight so that they can work on it sunday morning. Its now sunday. I get there around 8:30 and see that they are nearly done re-installing the stock rims. Good. I verify that they re-installed the TPMS sensors and the guys in the shop said yes. They eventually finish and I go to the front to pay. Todays bill comes out to around $120. Yep.... $320 for absolutely nothing. Its now 5/4/22 and my TPMS sensors have been acting up since 5/3/22 while driving. My tires are all inflated, yet the TPMS sensors continuously zero out indicating a flat tire. Ive pulled over multiple times freaking out that I hit a nail or something, but all my tires are fine. They were so quick to take my money, but so slow, so brainless and so ignorant when it came to working on my car. If you ever need anything done to your car other than oil and maybe tire rotation, go else where Hell, go to the dealer or a well certified mechanic shop. Not only did I waste AN ENTIRE saturday and over $300, but now I need to go to the dealership for them to address this TPMS issue. IDIOTS! read more

Have had two cars serviced and state inspections done at this shop on several occasions. Each visit requires an extensive wait to even be acknowledged that you are there. One guy today was doing paperwork at the counter; he never even looked up when I walked in, nor did he acknowledge the lady that walked in behind me a few minutes later. I watched the guy answer the phone 3 times and put all three calls on hold and ignore them. There is no reason for such poor customer service. After I was ignored for 10 minutes I told them I had a 12:00 appointment that they could cancel, and I walked out, never to return. Don't go here! I made an appointment online with Goodyear Auto Service in Kapolei because it's the closest one to my house. I requested brake services and received an email confirmation shortly after giving me appointment details and location information. First off, let me just say this place is hard to find if you've never been there! I drove around for a while before calling for directions at which point I was informed that they're located BEHIND the Safeway. You literally cannot see it driving down Farrington or even while in the Shopping Center, which is a little annoying. When I arrived I waited behind a lady who was complaining to the girl behind the counter about not being told that they only do credit transactions with debit cards. Sounded like a stupid argument to me since it comes out of your bank account anyway, just takes longer. But the girl working there was rude and showed absolutely no interest in the lady's complaint, even though it was somewhat silly. When it was my turn I informed the girl that I had an 11am appointment for a break inspection. She asked for my name, looked me up and said she did not have me in the system. I told her that I made my appointment online and received a confirmation # through email which I began to pull up on my phone. While I was looking it up she told me there's no way I could have made an appointment because they don't even do brake services on Sundays! I gave her my confirmation # to look up but she just stared at me, shrugged her shoulders and said, "We don't do that on Sundays and you're not in the system. You'll have to schedule for a different day." WTF??? I'm sure that it's probably an issue with Goodyear itself and not that specific shop as I should have received an email or at least a phone call letting me know that I couldn't schedule that particular service on that day. Who knows! But the girl behind the counter just had this look and attitude of pure annoyance and boredom that could only mean "I hate my job" or "I don't care about anyone or anything." This Goodyear consistently repairs our company's trucks in a single day. They always recommend what we really need any never try to up-sell us anything we don't. Sometimes it can be tricky getting a walk-in appointment but if you go early enough it is never an issue. I would highly recommend coming here for all your car needs. read more

I've been to this Goodyear several times and should've learned past experience. In one instance, I brought my MG there to get the clutch changed out and the ended up doing a poor job and broke the center console. Then they accused me of breaking it and refused to fix the damage. Most recently I brought my Taurus in for a safety check and they refused to pass me because the windshield washer didn't work. They offered to do a full fix for 300 dollars or jimmy it for $150. I told them I would do it myself, and fixed it for $5. They're close, but not trustworthy. read more

I'll give this place three stars but only because you can make an appointment, there is ample parking, and it's better than that Fast Lube place across the street in terms of a quick oil change. The only problem I have with this place so far is that the first cashier looked like she didn't want to be there and looked totally annoyed at me like I was bothering her. She looked like she was in high school or something. But whatever... Came back to pick up my car and the first girl was gone and an older lady was at the cash register. She was friendly but not that organized and she realized she rang up the wrong bill for me. She told me she gave another lady my receipt and the other lady left and paid for it. So to cover her ass, she asked me to pay for her receipt. At first I'm thinking "Hell no!" But she showed me the receipt and it was a cheaper oil change than my bill would've been. I paid it to get the hell out of there but in reality, ethics wise, that is pretty screwed up...the lady had a Scion and I had a 4 Runner. How do you get that mixed up? He informed her that he needed his car around 3pm because he has work at 4. She said it's a good thing he's making an appointment and to come at 11am and it will be done by then. He told her what services he needed for his car: 4 tires changed, alignment, and an oil change. However, when we got there, it's like his appointment and services needed wasn't even on file. She had to ask for everything over again. It was 2:30 and he called them asking his car was almost ready, and they said it would take 1 hour - 1 hour and 30 minutes to finish. That was outrageous and the lady didn't even explain why it's taking so long or even seem apologetic. I'm not asking for ass kissing, but at least offer some kind of customer service. Made an appointment here to get my safety check done at 10 am. and had a funeral to attend to at 1130. Upon walking in, the gentleman at the front said to hold on he'd be with us. Seemed like he was having a bad day, I don't know. Anyway so we wait for the safety check to get done...nearly 2 hours later. I wasn't approached until about 1145 with them telling me my car failed the safety check because of a "really serious battery issue", granted yes there was some acid on there but they told me I needed to have some wires changed because, it's a very serious safety issue. The dude sitting across from me was looking at me like that was some horse shit. and let me tell you, it sure was. Of course I was upset for wasting so much time there, didn't get to go to the funeral, waited nearly 2 hours even though there was an appointment. My dad was upset, he took my car himself to get the safety check done and what do you know, he brought it back 45 mins later with a fresh safety check pass. This isn't the first time Goodyear jipped me on some bullshit when I'm trying to get a safety check. I have a feeling it's because I am a very young looking woman, I often get told I look like I'm still in school, though I am well into my 30s. Every man in my life asked me, "why the f**k you go to goodyear? I hate those guys". Yup, I get it now. Never coming here again, never gonna get jipped again, never gonna get fed bullshit again, and I'm always going to bring a man with me whenever I do safety checks so I don't get fed bullshit after bullshit. read more

Had a blow out on the freeway on my way into work. Scared outta my wits and down a tire I decided not to wait till the spare failed. I immediately took my truck to Goodyear and explained my situation. They said they could fit me in but it'd be two and a half hours before the could work on it. I've been in the Kapolei shopping center hundreds of times and never had any accidents. Well, low and behold add a little bit of rain, some road rage and you get moving sidewalks that produces a flat tire. *sigh* So I manage to get my car to Goodyear and promptly head to the desk. It's about 12:30pm with at least 15 customers with various repair jobs, tire jobs, and oil change , etc. They take my information and what I want done (I wanted one new tire). Ok, 3 stars just for the friendly staff. Really though what's the point of making an appointment if they're not going to honor it. Ok I understand it's busy and they've got other cars to service. But I've been sitting here for more than an hour already and my car hasn't yet been touched. I'm here for a safety check which takes an average of 30 mins to complete. I have been to other places which gets me in and out in 20 minutes tops. I don't mean to be impatient but if you're going to put up a sign that says 1 hour please make sure it's one hour. If not, overestimate it by half an hour so at least it doesn't look like you're lying. And you get the customer's car out before that hour and a half you'll look like miracle worker. read more

After 3 tiresome visits at Flagship Fastlube's upselling oil changes, I was ready to find someone new to service my car. I swear my oil changes there were never just oil changes. It's always ...we recommend this and that. The evil culprit? I actually saw a paper posted near their computer that stated their daily goal of $13,500 for the day. They better do a heck of a lot of upselling to reach that goal! I felt like a piece of that pyramid to reach their goal. Anyways.... I received a coupon in the mailer for a 19.95 oil change or 10$ off a premium oil change at Goodyear. Being that my car has served me well, I decided to go for the premium. They also offer 5$ off for the military but not both, so the 10$ coupon is a better choice. I made reservations...and the earliest one I got was actually for a week later. Sure are busy! Geeezzz! They said it would take an hour. Perfect! I can pick up my kids from school with a 30 minute cushion. I arrived a few minutes early for my appointment, and a nice lady took all my info and keys. She again assured me that it would take an hour. I waited outside with a few magazines...and waited and waited. At 9:22, 22 minutes into the appointment, I was still looking at my untouched car. I panicked a bit and asked again if it would be done by 10:25 since I had to pick up my kids by 10:30. They said it would be done. Alrighty.... Sure enough at 10:20, it was done! PHEW!!!! I was a bit peeved that it took a good 20 minutes before they even started, but I'm not going to give grief. As long as my day is not affected adversely, I'm happy. The best part? No upselling! No one said...hey...we recommend this ...and that. Finally.... They're conveniently located behind Safeways. Kinda hard to find. You literally need to drive behind the whole shopping center. With a small Goodyear sign to point the way, I managed to find it. There's a small walkway that leads directly to the center, near Jeans Warehouse, so you can munch on some food or do some light shopping while you wait. Feel like being lazy? Then grab a magazine,watch some tv, drink some coffee, and surf the net with their free wifi. Maybe not. Their free wifi wasn't working on my phone. =( Still...the thought is nice and it's the thought that counts. read more

Horrible service. Don't waste your time coming here. Made a 10AM appointment told me around 1.5hr wait. Came back after 90 min and waited for my car back. Asked if they had an estimate on when services would be done they said they'd check and didn't hear back for 30min. It's now been 3 hours and I'm told I need a new tire on a puncture to the tire. I'm sorry couldn't you have figured that out at 10AM when I had my appointment? Or did it take 3 hours to asses a nail in a tire? Amateur hour is every hour here. read more

I came in for an oil and filter change when they opened at 7am. Only 2 other customers here. 1 hour and 15 minutes later I was told they don't have the filter for my 2015 F150 (common filter). I find this to be very unsatisfactory. They need to go find a filter elsewhere. It is now 10am and I am still waiting. 3 hours for an oil change? I am curious to see if there will be any other compensation other than "I'm sorry". I guess it will be FastLube across the street next time. Not the way to run a successful business. Nope! I had a good experience with getting a safety check done for my husband. I went initially as a walk in but they recommended making an appointment, otherwise it was a 2-3 hour wait, so I ended up doing the appointment because I had my baby with me. Made an appointment, came the following day and waited 20-30 mins (they initaly said maybe 45 mins) and they passed me. They only charged me after I got the "pass" and they even took an emailed copy of my insurance card, even though there was a big sign saying you need to bring a hard copy. (I was prepared to fail/come back) i think as long as you come in prepared and make an appointment you should have a good/fast experience. I feel bad for all their bad reviews, (honestly I was preparing for a bad experience)! Needed new tires for my 4Runner. Searched around and found that Goodyear had the best price. Called on Wednesday to order tires, special order for the 275/70R17 BF Goodrich Mud terrain w/Kevlar. Friday it was dropped to the shop for swapping tires, mounting, and alignment. Thankfully one of the guys was able to save me a huge amount of money by having a spare lock key to remove my lug nuts. Took couple hours for things to be completed but overall great customer service with an easy flow of information. Definitely would recommend Kapolei Goodyear specifically on any type of services for your vehicle!! read more

I have been brining my car here for oil changes for a few years now. Sometimes the wait is long, but I can see they have many cars that they are working on. Its not from laziness. I have had only one inspection done there though. They say at least an hour for the check, and they are thourough to say the least. If your car is not pretty damn close to perfect they will fail you. When in doubt, go elsewhere for inspections. But the manager there is very helpful and friendly. I have had my breaks replaced there two years ago and they still are fine. I was misquoted over the phone one time for a tire. When I got there it was more than quoted, either they heard me wrong for the size, or I told them wrong. Either way they discounted the tire a little for the mistake. I will keep bringing my car here for minor stuff, but not a safety, it would never pass! read more

We've been doing oil change for few times at this location (my husband is the one who brings the car) and we've been happy with the service. Today, I brought my car in because I had check engine light on and the car was shaking. The reason why I give them 4 stars it's because the service desk lady was very rude and for no reason (I can say for myself I am a very polite person). I was also not sure if I need oil change as well. She informed me I have to pay $150 for diagnosis and again asked me what should they checked and it made it like it was a big deal I asked to check both engine light snd the car shaking. I guess in her opinion you can pick either or. Than asked if it's my first time there, I told her usually my husband brings the car. After she asked for my last name and was surprised she can not find me, I told her my husband has different last name and I can give her his. Her response :"Aren't you a family?" After hour and a half, the guy working on my car called me to show why he couldn't diagnose the problem and that the car was driving fine when he checked it. So we talked about how no diagnosis= no charge for diagnosis and I should bring back the car again next time I have issues. So I went back to the waiting room while the oil change was done. (The guy's name was Mark btw, super cool dude) After Mark was done with the oil change, he told the lady not to charge me for the diagnosis and she was mad saying out loud " But you did check the car anyway" and tried to convince him to charge me for non diagnosed car. I just got new tires put on after carefully researching my options (since my vehicle is my office for work) and was extremely satisfied with the service and price. I live in Kalihi and I know that there are many shops conveniently closer to me but I chose to go where there is good service and where the price is fair. Unlike Discount Tires where I previously bought my tires in the past, Good Year Kapolei actually cared enough to provide options and ask for my preference. If I could give a negative rating it would be a negative beyond infinity. This is more of a warning than a review, I made an appointment for my tundra to get an oil change on a Saturday which was easy. My appointment was for 9am. I dropped my truck of 15 minutes early and was told that they would call me when it was done. They called me at around 10am to inform me that my truck would not start and that I needed a new battery and battery terminals. My total would now be around 380 (my truck had no problems starting in the morning so I was very confused) They had me waiting around for around 2 hours because they said they had to order the battery. I called my husband to let him know the situation. He came down with the spare keys for the tundra, went in my truck to start it and of course, it started right up with no problems. We were livid. I had no words. I feel that this Goodyear gives all Goodyear's a very bad reputation. We felt that they were trying to scam us into paying more money and made us wonder how many other people this has happened to at this location. Especially during these hard times with covid and so many being out of work. I was so angry when I went into the office to get my keys that I didn't even want to speak to anyone there. I am going to inform their corporate office about this situation. I'm just glad that we found out that my truck was fine before they did anything to it. They should be investigated. read more

The mechanics were very friendly; However, they are severely overpriced. My car was having a hard time starting. On any other day I would pick up the parts myself and work with my dad to fix it. However I wanted to get it fixed before hurricane iselle and julio hit so I took it in. Turns out my battery was weak and my starter was giving out. They replaced the battery and the corroded terminals and quoted me for the starter. Amazingly when I checked under the hood and looked at the battery it was from NAPA. I then called up a local NAPA and check the prices for both the starter and the battery both of which were incredibly lower than what was on my Goodyear receipt! I understand Goodyear is a business and needs to make money but the mark-up was very high! To make matters worse my car had a harder time starting than when I initially took it in. I know I am probably being paranoid, but I am starting to think that my battery was fine and my starter was the problem all along. The mechanics were very helpful trying to help me start my car in the parking lot but the whole time I had a sour taste in my mouth because of the whole experience. If you know anyone that can work on your car go with them and get the parts from NAPA. You will save money and your car might run afterwards... unlike mine. read more
