We recently went back to this restaurant and although the food was pretty good, they really need to fix the ventilation... the restaurant was so smoky because of all the grilling, but it doesn't have the ventilation systems that other restaurants have, so the smoke lingers. Not sure if this is a health violation, but definitely does not seem healthy. They need to fix this. read more

This Korean bbq place bills itself as "luxury" and it reflects in their price. Is the food worth the price though? That's debatable. The rib cap and the marinated short rib are very good, but the portions might be a bit small for $50ish and $45ish, respectively. Waiters were helpful, they cook for you, but once the cooking stops, the service slows. However the high quality meat does warrant 4 stars with one star taken off for price and slower service near the end of the meal. My meat was severely undercooked when I asked for medium doneness. The servers here did not seemed trained enough to be cooking the food like this, and the meat probably doesn't meet any food temperature regulations. We showed this to a team member, and with no remorse, he reluctantly cooked the meat a bit more to an edible temperature. We ordered a beef combo, large entail, and pork belly. Thought it was going to be too much but we actually finished everything but was also a bit too full. The ribeye in the beef combo was tender but the rib finger and the non marinated short rib was pretty chewy. The large entail had good flavor but wished the server cooked it a bit longer so it crisps up more. The pork belly was really good and with the spicy green onions was definitely the highlight of the meal. Stopped by for lunch on a Monday with a friend. There was no wait, although it was still a bit busy considering it was a Monday! There were only a couple servers, but they did a decent job of checking on us. During lunch they offer specials, which were great. We got the stir-fried pork, soft tofu stew, and cream udon. When we raised our concerns, our complaints were ignored, and the mandatory service fee was enforced regardless. It felt as if they added extra charges simply because we complained about the poor service. Unlike the voluntary tipping culture in the U.S., this restaurant employs an unpleasant practice of forcing hidden fees on customers. This place is a total disappointment. We had an early dinner before dropping off some out of town family, and the Beef Combo was the perfect choice. Pro-Tip: the Beef Combo will feed 2-5 people, depending on how much pple eat. And don't be deceived after the first platter, a second whole platter of meat is coming. Pro-Tip 2: it can get crowded at peak hours so consider coming in between 4-5pm if you can. The meat was super succulent, and even tho it's a little more expensive, the price point:value is honestly much better than AYCE places. Me and my cousin were looking to try a fancier Korean bbq place and decided to check this place out. Plenty of parking space so no hassle there. There was no wait so we sat down immediately and browsed through the menus. We weren't really sure how the dishes would come out since our server didn't really explain much even when we asked but that's okay. We first attempted to order the rib eye but sadly it was sold out so we settled for the beef fingers and short rib. One thing you need to know is one order of a dish is probably good enough to fill up 2 people. The portions of the meat are generous so definitely keep that in mind. Our beef finger came out first and I have to say... the quality of the meat is really top notch. It was so juicy and tender! I couldn't wait for the short rib! Sadly that took about 15 minutes to come out. It seems our server forgot to take down the order of the short rib so that sucks. But eventually the plate did come out. I'm sure the ribeye would taste amazing here but this short rib is probably the best Ive had in a while. Really good marbling and balance between fat and meat. Extremely juicy and delicious! Some of the sides are good too. The little egg pancake, the green onion in some red sauce, and the sauces provided all are really tasty. Sadly, I can't give this place 5 stars only cause it seems like the service can be pretty shaky here. They cooked both our dishes at our table which is cool but they did forget to put down our order of the short rib which wasn't a deal breaker but still, I can't give it a solid 5 stars even though the meats we tried were absolutely delicious! Overall on the 2 dishes spent, (sides of rice weren't charged) it was around $59 tip included from each of us. Came here around 7:30p on a Saturday night and there was about a 15 minute wait for a table for 4. Goo yi isn't an AYCE place, but they do grill the food for you similar to at Baekjeong. The portion size of the Cheese Tripe Fried Rice was smaller than I was expecting given the price, but this was the unexpected highlight of the night for me. Absolutely delicious and I would go back just for this. The Beef Intestine combo was also very good. I'll admit that I don't usually go for the intestines when eating kbbq but these were definitely better than the intestines at most other places. The Prime Ribeye was fantastic - super flavorful and tender - exactly what you'd expect from quality rib eye. Our server was very nice, and graciously paused long enough when cooking the meat to let me get some good pics.
