Loved it! So good! 10/10 love the ayce deal! For kids it's half off! Come try it out!

Gorilla Sushi is a fantastic late night eatery on Tropicana and Spencer. Inside is lively with awesome music playing a genre mix of R&B and Korean songs. Atmosphere has a busy vibe, it was packed! There was seating available at the bar. They offer AYCE Lunch $25.99 from open until 3pm, and AYCE Dinner $29.95 from 3pm until closing. Menu has a great selection of appetizers, soup, nigiri sushi, gorilla sashimi, standard cut & hand roll, chef special roll, baked roll, deep fried roll, and desserts. I chose a la carte and ordered my go-to for King Kong Roll (6 pieces, $10.95), it's deep-fried roll, inside has shrimp tempura, opt for non-spicy crab, has cream cheese, drizzled with yum yum sauce and eel sauce, so delicious! I noticed they make kimbap too! They have bulgogi and buldak. I asked for Original (6 pieces, $3.99) and requested deep-fried kimbap. The sushi chef is so cool! He made kimbap nice and crispy, inside has soft fried tofu, shredded carrots, burdock, pickled radish, all very tasty! I asked for yum yum sauce (+$0.25), this goes exceptionally well with any deep-fried food. Also had Miso Soup ($3.00), it was simple, served hot, and comforting. They give a good serving of soft tofu and green onions, though it would be great if wakame seaweed was added in to enhance it. Service from Monse, sushi chef Jose, and Kevin is very kind, welcoming, attentive, accommodating, and friendly! Also wanted to commend Kevin for his excellent service. The cashier Peter came to my table and sincerely apologized, he only meant to help and I appreciate that, thank you!

It's buffet quality sushi. I ordered it off uber eats late and it was ok. The sushi rice is not good and just dense/sticky. The quality of fish is ok not great.. I repeat this is a buffet sushi spot. Treat it as such and you won't be disappointed. Ask for extra wasabi as they don't give enough.

This is my go to spot for AYCE sushi. It's a busy spot but worth the wait. Service is quick, staff is polite and fish is fresh!! I love Gorilla!!

Came for a late date night and it was not busy but once our food started coming out it started filling up quick. Service is kind and ambiance is great. I enjoy the music they play it isnt too loud so you can actually have conversation with the people you are with. We ordered veggie tempura, the salt edamame (we usually go for the spicy garlic but a few places have been a miss and we couldn't remember if this was one of them). For sushi we got Boom boom, red dragon, caterpillar, kiss of fire, Johnny, spider, 007, vampire, and hawaiian. They were all fresh and had loads of flavor. For dessert they do not have many options but we both got the mango mocha (They were out of the strawberry). They offer a stamp card which is a plus because we will definitely be back!

2.5 stars. I have no idea why this place has as many good reviews as they do. We went here for the AYCE sushi but decided to go a la cart. I'm glad that we did because the rolls were just average. Nothing to write home about. They were busy on a Thurs night and we had to wait around 10 mins to get seated. There isn't much place to wait inside, so we stood outside. This isn't a big deal at night but if you come here during the day, it might be a wait in the heat. The ambiance is casual, sports bar with a few booths. We ordered the Call 911 roll, the Kiss of Fire, the Spicy salmon roll, the Takoyaki, the Unagi sushi and a Hot sake. We love spicy food so a lot of our decision-making was based on the number of spice stars next to the rolls. The Call 911, which had 5 spice stars next to it and was recommended by the server as their hottest, was nowhere close to being spicy. In fact, the Kiss of Fire, which had 3 stars, had more of a kick. The server ended up getting us some spicy Korean sauce to heat things up. The rolls overall were ok. Same thing with the spicy salmon roll. It was fine. Nothing to write home about. The Takoyaki and the Unagi were just disappointing. Unlike the usual Takoyaki, these were half balls instead of full balls. They also didn't have the bonito flakes and the octopus was more pureed than diced. The Unagi looked nicer than it tasted. Instead of tasting the rice and the eel as a combination, it amalgamated into one melted bite, which wasn't as fun. The sake was fine. All in all, this was a very average dining experience and we will look for alternatives when we come back to Vegas next time.

Charging half price for a 3 year old that would probably only consume a bowl of rice is ridiculous. I would understand maybe 5-10 but charging for a 3 year old is a good way to deter guest.

    Dynamite. My favorite

I was wondering if they still do the Birthday Celebrant eats FREE for AYCE and does it have to be on the actual day of their birthday or is within the week allowed?

no they don't they have a kids price for 12 and under

    No they do not

What else do they serve other than sushi?

They have mussels, corn cheese, egg rolls, gyoza, tempura, rice cake, bulgogi, spam musubi, and fried rice are just a few of the other things besides sushi.

Do you still do free all you can eat sushi on birthdays? (2/4/22)

The best Ayce sushi place in Vegas!…read more If you're tired of the boring buffets on the strip, I highly recommend to visitors to check out this restaurant off the strip in Chinatown. Food (4.5/5) I strongly recommend to order the nigiri and stay away from the rolls if you want to get your moneys worth. The nigiri selection is pretty huge with multiple unique cuts of fish that other Ayce sushi places usually don't include (surf clam, ono, yellowtail toro, uni). Although some of the premium items you're only allowed to order once, it was pretty satisfying to be able to even try it as most ayce sushi places don't even include these items. The nigiri is on the smaller side (maybe 1/2 the size of regular size nigiri) but I appreciate how they didn't include a ton of sushi rice with each piece. It seemed like this restaurant wanted you to get your moneys worth and not have you fill up on rice! Highlight items are definitely everything on the special nigiri order menu selection, eel nigiri, and seared salmon. The regular tuna nigiri was just alright and my group did not like the ikura as it was a little off tasting. They also include free ice cream at the end and the affogado was pretty good! Service (4.75/5) The service was pretty good for such a small and packed place. We went right at opening and it was completely full with a long wait outside on a Sunday afternoon. The best part of this place is that there is NO item ordering restriction so essentially you could order 100+ nigiri for a single round of ordering. Most ayce sushi places I've eaten at have very shady rules that try to screw you over so you can't order a lot, but this place took the opposite approach so I can see why it's always busy! The staff was very quick at bringing out the food and having you order again. There is a 90 minute time limit to eat so start ordering right away. Ambience (4.5/5) This restaurant is located in a strip mall plaza in Chinatown and the parking was limited, but once inside this restaurant was pretty cute with the decorations. It felt clean and had a nice cool A/C going inside. Value (5/5) 20$ lunch until 4pm on Monday-Thursday and 35$ all other times. The best value AYCE I've had and better than anything I've paid for in California. Overall (4.68/5) I would definitely return to Vegas just to eat here again and I thought the food quality was better than any Bacchanal or Wynn Buffet on the strip.

Even more impressive was that hot items came out very, very quickly. Matthew, my server was a cool laid-back guy who was super attentive. Everything he recommended was great! And he checked on almost everything I ordered! Something else impressive was how quickly they clean cleared and reset the tables. It was a team effort. Everyone who was in the restaurant serving or busing helped replace the items on the table. It was very cool to see. I have to mention Cassie, the first and last person I talked to. She greeted me at the door with a happy smile, asked if this was my first time and kindly recommended a lot of wonderful items when explaining the menu. On the way out she thanked me for coming. We placed one order and waited about half an hour until they came back. I think our server went on a break after taking our order but no one else checked on us until we flagged someone down which shouldn't happen if you're doing Ayce. The restaurant wasn't even busy and there was no wait at all and so many empty tables. We even had to leave cash after placing a second order because no one came by after we finished to run our card. Chef Shuji runs the restaurant with his wife next to him in the kitchen. The fish here is flown in from Japan and of the highest quality as you can see from the sheen and fat marbling. The tuna melts in your mouth and bite after bite is a wonderful experience as you pair it with soy sauce, fresh Wasabi, yuzu Wasabi, or some combination of the condiments provided. This is also the first sushi restaurant I have ever been to that automatically brings out fresh Wasabi without having to ask. The portions are generous and we left feeling very satisfied. Even though we were very full, we took a look at the dessert menu. Not pictured here is a sweet potato with ice cream and brown sugar glaze. This dish on the menu was unassuming but the taste was so decadent. Quite possibly the best and sweetest sweet potato I have ever tasted. The chef slowly roasts them over a 2 hour period, rotating the potatoes every so slightly every 15 minutes. The sweet potato could be a dessert by itself, it was that good! Chef Shuji is a charming and funny host. He regularly comes out to greet his customers and makes sure they are enjoying their meal, very high-touch. If you know Japanese - even if it's just a few phrases, speak with him as he will be delighted. He was absolutely tickled when we said arigato and he shared that he is originally from Kyoto.
