I love everything about this place! The food, the service, and the amazing selection of New Mexican style food. Our last visit here we had the best server who was attentive and cheerful. We were greeted with chips and salsa and ordered the three ground beef taco plate and the steak burrito with red and green sauce on the side. Both were prepared to perfection. Can't wait to go back!

I normally love small businesses/restaurants and I haven't done a Yelp review in years but my experience at Goyita's was down right abysmal. I have been to and got takeout from here many times before and the food is normally pretty good. However, this takeout was absolute robbery on their part. I should have recognized the red flag when we ordered and the person on the other end of the call had no idea they had green chile con carne burritos on their menu. Alas, I ignored the red flag. My mistake. The picture in this review is the result of a "burrito" that immediately fell apart when I took it out of the takeout box. It was literally enough meat to fill a taco and a half but definitely NOT enough to fill a burrito and at $15 they essentially robbed me. To top it all off, the meat was cold and the tortilla was extremely soggy and slimey. It didn't really matter as I threw the tortilla out it was so bad. I wish I took a "before" pic to show how small and poorly made this burrito really was. It was by far the worst burrito I have had in a long time. I definitely will NOT be returning.

Love this local mom and pop spot to catch a bite and catch up with friends. Convenient location and love that it's a New Mexican cuisine menu. The service is consistently good and the ambiance is cozy- usually not too loud. I recommend this place to give it a try at least once.

On a recommendation from a friend, we headed from Vail to the other side of Tucson for lunch yesterday. My husband is a Hatch green and red chile fanatic, growing up in New Mexico. As we drove the 48 minutes for lunch we kept saying, "this place better be good." Oh and it was, in fact it was GREAT! From the very clean restaurant to the smiling friendly staff to the beyond amazing food we loved it. We both ordered the combination plates, small and large and YUM. The crunchy tacos were delicious, the chile rellano perfectly done and the enchilada with both red/green sauces rounding it out for a win on everything. Beans are obviously homemade. What was really good though were the chips/salsa. The chips were SO good, maybe they make them there fresh? We both had a freshly made sopapilla for dessert to round out our late lunch putting it in the outstanding category. They have indoor and outdoor seating, tables are spread out which is nice given the pandemic and they put hand sanitizer on the tables.

I was having a hard time deciding between two restaurants in Oro Valley so I decided to go here. New Mexico style. My son and I ordered the lunch special- chicken tacos with rice and beans. I like the taste and style- just distinctively different a tad lighter compared to most Mexican cuisine. I like their chips and salsa too. The place is pretty popular so get there early.

I think having the kids as hostesses is really cute and adorable. Although, the food is not that great. My family were not too satisfied with their food. Everything lacks something. They can improve on their food presentation,as well. I've had better Mexican food.

Ohhhh.....my......GOOOOOODness!!! Definitely from home!! The cook is from Silver City, NM and the food is definitely as authentic as they come!! I know know where o get my NM Chile fix in the Tucson area!! It is so hard to find when we are out of our home state of NM and so sorely missed. We had the shredded beef taco , their taco Tuesday sale for $1 off and a large combination plate with two tacos, two enchiladas, rice, and beans PLUS a sopapilla, my dessert lol. The only down side is that they were out of Chile rellenos....who runs out of rellenos at 3:30 pm?? Both the red and green Chile were flavorful hot and spicy just like we like it.

The best food ever if you like NM spicy. Homemade salsa, chips, and more. And they support local schools.

Very pretty place, clean, staff engaging. I wouldn't say our meal ( combo plate, chicken enchiladas), margarita was outstanding, but good.

What vegan (not vegetarian) options are available?

Hi. From looking at the menu, I don't believe there is anything that is vegan. If I understand the criteria to qualify as vegan, based on my former coworkers' explanation. Pretty much everything has cheese, meat, and refried beans, which normally…

Do they have outdoor seating? I realize they are closed now, but when they open, is there seating outdoors and separated tables?

Yes when they are open there is outdoor seating and separated tables.

How many chimis come with the mini Chimi platter?

    Eight

    Do you need reservations?

We were able to get a table with no wait on a thursday. Not sure about weekends!

    Am I seeing styrofoam plates?

Nope! They are a sit down restaurant with ceramic (?) plates.

We enjoyed the zero proof Pom Pom Press, and the complimentary jalapeño corn bread was really delicious! We shared the chips and salsa and the short rib tacos (we added on a 4th taco, but because they were so generously filled we could have just shared the 3!) The tacos were great - but the avocado salsa had absolutely no flavor. We added a generous squeeze of lime and a little salt and it was better. We loved the convenience of having a nice restaurant on site and we would definitely eat there again next time we're in town.

One detail I loved was the collection of Mexico soccer jerseys on the wall. It was cool seeing the older jerseys from past World Cups. It gave the place a fun touch. The staff was incredibly welcoming and the food was amazing from start to finish. We started with the Mole Chips, which were delicious. The mole sauce was flavorful and the perfect way to kick off the meal. I ordered the entomatadas with scrambled eggs and they were great. Even though it was a hot day, I had to try their Chocolate Oaxaqueño since Oaxaca is famous for its chocolate and I'm glad I did. It was absolutely worth it. Everything was so good that I couldn't leave without dessert, so we ordered the Chocolate Tres Leches cake. It was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. We didn't have a reservation (highly recommend getting one for busy times) and were happy to sit where they could fit us. Our server Louie was EXCELLENT. He walked us through the entire menu in 3 minutes and we felt confident ordering. He also suggested an amazing appetizer featuring chilies stuffed with cheese and shrimp and wrapped in bacon . I ordered the Fajitas Mixtas for my main as I wanted to try several meats. Hubby ordered the shrimp enchiladas with both green and red sauce. Both were beautiful and delicious. I also tried the mocktail that had prickly pear puree. It was delicious and refreshing. The menu had options available for folks seeking Gluten Free, too.
