Consistently great pizza! It's been a year that Graffiti is our "go to" place to pick up a pizza. The crust is great and the ingredients are solid. Cloud Pizza is fantastic and we get pepperoni and ricotta often, too. Love dropping by to get a slice, too. The only issue is that sometimes it can be tricky to order. I've been going to Graffiti since they opened and have enjoyed their excellent pizza and customer service. There was a short stint during the early part of the pandemic where I was going there every Friday ! Decided to place an order tonight through DoorDash at 5:30pm and received a pickup time btw 7:30-7:35pm. I've never had to wait two hours but could understand that they maybe busy. Well, I show up approximately 7:45pm to pickup and was told that my pizza had been thrown out at 7:25 !!! The explanation I received was that my order had disappeared off the Door Dash screen..... WTF ?!!! I guess so seeing that it took 2 hours to complete my order. While I appreciated that they made me another pizza I was pissed off and it takes a lot to get me upset.... A late night gem! Was looking for a place to end the night with some great pizza and wandered into Graffiti pizza. The pizza was super tasty and I was impressed with the flavor of the crust. Being from New York I'm very picky about my Pizza. To the point that I have changed my go to fave food to burgers because it's easier to get a good burger (shout out to Au Cheval) than it is quality NYC style pizza. With that being said I'm soooooooooo glad I found Graffiti Pizza in Oakland. Not only is it BLACK FEMALE OWNED BUT it actually has some of the best pizza I've had in over 7yrs! My girlfriend and I try to order once a week to get our pizza fix and support black businesses of course. Best pizza in the Bay is what I've been telling people. Oh and in Chicago! TLDR: Amazing food, awesome staff, good vibes; hope you enjoy it! You will not be disappointed. I absolutely love this place! When I first came here it was for lunch and I ate at a little table inside and enjoyed my first calzone. I would like to preface this by saying I used to work at a pizzeria and I have never been able to enjoy pizza or anything of the like since. I've tried other places since then but never enjoyed them like how I enjoy graffiti. The Chef, Matt, has created something so special and delicious! As I've explored the menu I am consistently shocked by how amazing everything tastes. Like don't even get me started on his pesto! 10/10 all the way around. The staff are so nice and kind here! I usually come here after a long day to unwind at times and enjoy a delicious 18 Dummy margarita. If you're into beer, they have a very tasty Pilsner on tap and a good selection of beer as well. The atmosphere is great, from sports on the bar's tv to good music; there's a very spacious patio in the back with heaters. Overall this place is such a treasure and I'm so happy to share how much I enjoy it. I hope you enjoy it just as much as I do. read more

For New York style, thin crust pies, Graffiti Pizza is the stand out favorite. The sauce is excellent; the crust is perfectly chewy; the toppings are generous; the cheese is perfectly distributed. While there are several good pizzerias in the Bay Area for this style of pizza, Graffiti is best-in-class. As a vegetarian, I order the Bus Hopper (add onion) or the Yards, which has a pesto base instead of tomato sauce. There is also a white pie, which I've never tried. My favorite is the Bus Hopper because I prefer a tomato base to pesto, but I mix it up. To make vegan, order either without cheese, and substitute the tomato base for the pesto on the Yards, as the pesto is made with cheese. There are a few issues about which one might want to be aware. First, the neighborhood is sketchy. Sadly, there are lots of homeless in the area, and on a couple of occasions, I've seen aggressive displays between people on the block. Second, parking can be a challenge, even during Covid, when traffic is noticeably less. And finally, sometimes, the phone system doesn't work and I haven't been able to get through even if they are open. Similarly, I have attempted to order using Caviar, when, for whatever reason, my order was never acknowledged and my pizza was never made. I don't use third-party apps to order from Graffiti anymore, as I found a number of glitches, including toppings not being added or the estimate of the pizza's completion being grossly inaccurate by 20-30 minutes. In spite of these issues, Graffiti is worth the effort. Before Covid, Graffiti was open until midnight during the week and 3a on the weekends, which was incredible. Now, it stays open until 10p during the week and midnight on the weekends. Closed Mondays. I order from Graffiti because of its excellence, but I also feel good about supporting a minority-owned enterprise. I have introduced Graffiti to several people, all of whom have enjoyed the pizza as much as I have. Highly recommended. read more

This was my favorite pizza place in the Bay Area but the last time I visited the quality dropped significantly. The pizza was so greasy it felt soggy. The pizza wasn't crispy at all. It was so floppy it was hard to pick up, I don't know if the sogginess contributed to this but either way it was inedible. I ate 2 slices and threw the pizza away. Be mindful it's street parking, yeah, pay the meter. Pizza is usually not my go-to food of choice (unless I'm in New York) bc most pizza establishments in CA are no bueno. I don't get what all the fuss is about...at all!! We got two flavorless uninspired vegetarian pies, and it was around $50. Nothing special about crust, toppings, sauce, or cheese. This pizza was huuuuuuuge. It fed 2.5 people for 2 days, pretty sure I got the XL by accident but not complaining. Crust was so yummy, slightly chewy, perfect when re roasted (I love a crispy bottom) and they def didn't skimp on toppings, just wished for a little extra sauce. I really enjoyed Graffiti pizza the first time I ordered delivery from them. Pizza quality was fantastic, great crust, fresh ingredients. Almost just like a slice from Slice House in San Francisco. I've been ordering from Graffiti relatively frequently over the last 3 months or so, and was glad to see that the business was listed as a black owned restaurant. I think it's an important time to support locally owned black businesses in the US, and especially in the Bay. I really want to see this business survive the hell hole we're all living in, because they had some great pizza. This would be a 5 star review, but I believe the quality of the pizza here has drastically fallen in the last month or two. The last 2 pizzas I got delivered were cold, (understandable if it's an issue because of the courier, so no fault to them necessarily) and tasted pretty off. Ingredients didn't taste fresh, and the dough didn't taste very good. The dough on the pizza I ordered earlier tonight was huge, tasted old, and didn't have anywhere near the same taste of the pizzas I was getting a few months ago. It really tasted like the pizza was made yesterday, sat on a counter all day and then boxed up (order had custom add ons so unlikely the case). I'm really disappointed to see the quality fall here, and hope that this can be addressed/fixed soon. I thoroughly enjoyed graffiti pizza and think it's a valuable asset to Oakland. First off, the slices here are more like 2.5 slices, so don't be turned off by the $5 - $6 price tag. Second, this is hands down the best crust I've over had in California. (Mozzeria in SF was previously my favorite crust, as a point of reference). Traditional NY Style with light sauce and light cheese. I got the pepperoni, which the pizza was very generously topped with. Good pizza, the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that there was some sort of garnish/seasoning on top that was just too much. Leave that off please, grown adults know how to season their own pizza. I went during the pandemic so there was plenty of parking. There's a homeless shelter/community center across the street but the people there weren't looking to start anything. You ring a bell and someone comes up pretty quick to take your order. A couple of tables are set up on the sidewalk if you want to eat there. Would I eat here again? Yes, but only if I was ordering a whole pizza so I could customize without the seasoning on top. I ordered graffiti pizza via Postmates but for some reason Postmates set it to pick up, not delivery. I sent an Uber to pick up the pizza but my Uber was struggling to get the order. He said he was in the restaurant and confused. I called graffiti pizza as I was charged for the pizza and needed my Uber to pick it up. When I called, the worker wouldn't talk to me and kept hanging up. CRAZY unprofessional. Incredibly rude and my my order was charged! I'm reading a lot of reviews about this pizza that make me wonder....where tf are y'all eating that this place doesn't deserve more stars. Honestly it's a 4 for the area, because I'm from the East Coast and I'm picky, but I'm giving it 5 because I feel that's fair in comparison to the other places around and I'm seeing a lot of crybabying in Yelp now more than ever. I've had a couple of vegetarian slices and the toppings could have used a pinch of salt, but the cheese slice is solid and almost better the next day (extra crispy in my oven). Is it the best pizza I've ever had? No. I've eaten in at least 100 pizza joints in New York, Boston and Providence over my lifetime. Is it the best New York style pizza (simple, no fuss) slice I've had in the Bay Area since I've been here for over a decade? Yes. Don't even get me started about how disappointed I am in North Beach. Take my opinion with a grain of salt (no pun intended) because everyone's palate is different. I judge my pizza on: thinness of crust (bottom crust paper thin and edge as thin as possible), flavor of dough, flavor of sauce (a touch of sweetness...literally a touch), cheese blend quality. The only thing that I can say is that their pizza straight out of the oven isn't as solid as a reheated slice, so tbh I'd get a couple of slices from the case as opposed to a whole fresh pie.
