Lovely place to hang out in the evening. Great music and not very loud. Their customer service is amazing especially Paulina . We tried the mushroom tacos, so good..!

Fantastic service and the food was delicious! We had a reservation for 6 indoors - note that groups 7+ will be seated outside in the patio. Indoor space is quite small but cozy. Our only hiccup was that their cocktails were STRONG for a brunch.

Such a cute calm place honestly was super surprised at how freshly made everything was. Everything came out as it was ready super yummy, the meatballs were my favorite. The staff is super friendly would recommend

My friend and I met at Gray Tavern for dinner and drinks after work. This place has great vibes. It felt like we were in a chic LA restaurant without actually having to go to dtla (which I avoid at all costs now. Lol). The outdoor patio was lovely. The cocktails were good. Our appetizer was amazing. Cooked with lemon, Greek yogurt, mint, red onion, and roasted garlic, the crispy cauliflower was quite possibly the best cauliflower dish I have ever had. Sadly, the mac and cheese was bland and unimpressive in comparison. Nevertheless, everything else was a hit and the mac and cheese was the only miss, hence the 4 stars. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Average. Might return if others drag me. 4 Stars: Yum! Likely to return. 5 Stars: Amazing! Would plan my day around it.

Solid neighborhood tavern. Good drinks, decent prices, no weird attitude. I had their burger with fries -- nothing fancy, just done right. The draft beer selection could be bigger, but what they had was cold and fresh. Crowd was mixed -- some regulars, some people just stopping in. Music wasn't too loud, which I appreciated. Service was quick and laid-back. Nothing mind-blowing, but exactly what you want from a local bar: decent food, solid drinks, no drama. Would come back.

Menu rehauled with lots new that's thankfully not the same gastropub dishes you see everywhere! Cheese Fondue - Nervous it would be simple and heavy/greasy, but holy cow it's way better! Uncscious and cozy, but balanced. Meatballs - No complaints. Tender, well seasoned, with light herb and spice. Well done and comforting homey vibes, if not groundbreaking. Curious if it could be jazzed up/more unique. Tartare Quartet - Love trying a variety of small things! Tomato was deceptively simple until basil cames in and ended on a curious umami note I can't peg. Beef is balanced by cornichons. Tuna has mango and truffle, which is not overdone. Mushroom has big mushroom flavor with melted cheese. An attractive spread with lots of fun, different things to try. Happy to come back and keep exploring the new menu!

Stopped by for a drink on our way home on a Sunday. Decor inside is really nice. The music selection was really good especially if you have a penchant for 80's tunes! The Bart was super friendly and the beer was really good. Will be back.

Great drinks and great food! Love the outdoor patio vibes too. I came here with a girlfriend for some drinks and food and was super impressed. Our waitress Sydney was SO friendly and provided great service. We ordered french fries, wings, and shrimp tacos. The food was so good! The shrimp in the tacos was juicy and cooked well. Also loved the guac on top. The wings were not your typical buffalo wings, they were almost sweet and spicy. I really enjoyed them. Fries were great to share as the portion was pretty large. I would come back here just for drinks and vibes. On a weekday evening is was super chill, but I have seen it get busy on weekends. I am definitely going to make this my new spot to grab drinks with friends. I am looking forward to coming back and trying more of their food!

Went to the grand reopening of this bar and I have high hopes for this place. The bar manager Sydney - who was really nice said they were under a new owner and he's made some great changes so far. I love the vibes of this place. It has a nice ambiance and outdoor seating. I tried the Passionfruit marg-tini that was good and the salsa they have with the chips was really good too. We tried little bites of things during the reopening but not sure which items were on their actual menu. But I'll definitely be back.

    Bloody Mary

I mean really?!?! BRUNCH was off the hook! Bloody Mary was perfect. Ricotta Pancakes and eggs to die for! Can't wait to come back and make my way thru the menu! Service and vibe were on point!

Not sure if it was an off night because of the rain, but Gray Tavern wasn't what we were expecting. We walked into an empty bar with the football game loudly on. It was kind of awkward for us because we thought (according to the reviews) that the environment would be a bit more of a toned down, cozy type of experience. My husband ordered a beer ($9) and I got the Oaxacan Fall ($15), which was basically a mezcal old fashioned with earl grey syrup. The cocktail was actually quite interesting and tasty. FYI they don't have happy hour on the weekends, which was a little disappointing because that's what's on the online menu. The ones in the photos are up to date. I'm inclined to give them another try at some point.

Popped in because of how late they are open- really enjoyed the layout and vibe. The meatballs were incredible in a way I was not expecting. Wish they offered half sized appetizers but they are decent proportions. Crispy Cauliflower was good but not as crispy or hearty as I needed them to be. Eating these after the meatballs made me wish I ordered more meatballs instead. Tried the "Emotionally Unavailable" cocktail per the recommendation of my very attractive waiter, excellent drink with a great size. I liked how spicy and strong the drink was. Waiter was great and super accommodating

The banana was a more subtle finish, not sweet, but I still prefer their peach version and wish it was also on the menu. The deviled eggs are just the right bite for drinks. We also had the flatbread and hummus, made with green garbanzo beans and served with watermelon radish and pita bread. TIP: if you like biscuits, order theirs! The brick barrel vaulted ceiling that runs the length of the restaurant really adds to the ambiance of this place. Out of the seven dishes, only two were not as flavorful as expected. I tried calling at least 40 times from Thursday to late Friday! Just remember when they say you can cancel up to 48hrs they do not mean 48hrs & 1 second later. That choice to do an online cancellation WILL close at 48hrs even. Self parking is weird too. Not the parking part but leaving it's sort of a pain. They give you the typical ticket but they also give you a complimentary QR Code that pays for the parking which is great! But the reader sucks & you got a bunch of people lining up behind you. It worked but there needs to be a better system. I suggest paying a little more & just valeting. Pro's: We ended saying screw it let's go! Pro's the traffic that Saturday was ridiculously crazy more than usual through Downtown LA but we got there 20 minutes late & feared the worst. But they honored our reservation. Let me say the service was IMPECCABLE, our server was on it every step of the way, very kind, friendly & funny! The food was kind of what I expected, more like a Bacchanal at Caesars in Vegas. & it some ways even better. I felt the quality & food prep & cooking was totally worth it, except for the crab legs. A little too salty like they cooked it too long in salt!!! Everything else was excellent. Probably one of the best lamb chops I've had from a buffet or anywhere else. The lobster was also excellent & I can see that the lobster was the main call not the crab legs judging by other tables plates. It was well worth it. I finally decided…read moreto go when they were running the end of summer special of the Saturday AYCE lobster buffet dinner for around $109 ($30 off). I was so excited to finally go. However, my first lobster was such a bad start to the dinner. It was either overcooked or a bad lobster. It tasted funky and the innards, including the lobster tail, tasted off. The subsequent lobsters redeemed the AYCE lobster deal, but my palate was already off from that first one. How disappointing...the other buffet items were decent. The spread of raw and cold seafood items were decent. I expected fresher seafood but then again, SoCal isn't close to the Atlantic Ocean where seafood seems to be much better. I had a little bit of most of the buffet spread, but it didn't hit as hard as it should. They have a few types of steaks including Korean style LA Galbi. However, they need to work on different cooking temps as most were or close to well done. I like my steaks medium rare to medium but none of them were at that level. I skipped the prime rib given the disappointment from the other steaks, and I was quite full at this point. I finished it off with the spread of desserts. Honestly, the overall dessert spread was probably the closest complete area to be quite fair in value and taste. For a cost of $100+, I expected way better quality overall and in certain dishes at this AYCE dinner buffet. Each lobster should also be better inspected given it ruined the first impression and my dinner overall. But then again, I've been to one of my favorite seafood places AYCE or other...The Nordic in Charlestown, RI. Many seafood and lobster AYCE expectations have been highly escalated due to them.

My son didn't make a reservation because it was a Wednesday night and he didn't think it would be crowded. But with 5 adults and a baby carriage, we had to wait for the right table because the somewhat small restaurant was full. We soon got a good spot and ordered the shrimp ceviche and the pan fried dumplings for appetizers. The ceviche was served on a bed of crispy noodles and it was refreshing and satisfying. The dumplings were crispy, not greasy, and flavorful. For dinner, we got 2 orders of japchae and 3 orders of bibimbap. With 2 Korean-born children and having visited the country, those are among our family's favorite dishes. And they did not disappoint. The japchae noodles were just right. They were not too firm and not too soft and well-seasoned. With a mixture of veggies, meat, mushrooms, eggs, and that delectable sauce, the bibimbap tickled and satiated the tastebuds. I told the server there was a birthday at the table and she brought out an excellent creme brulee with a candle in it. My husband and I didn't pay the bill. But the prices were reasonable with most of the entrees costing less than $20 each. We have four more days in town and may very well make another visit to indulge in that scrumptious food.
