I stopped by here en route to Olympic National Park during lunchtime. When we arrived, the place was empty, but a line quickly formed after us. I ordered the short rib grilled cheese which was delicious! The bread had a good crunch to it and the meat was flavorful and tender. It was a delicious spin on a classic. I was a little confused by the seasoning on the fries and was expecting them to be salty or spicy, but they were a little sweet. I didn't dislike them, but if given the choice, I wouldn't order them. Something that definitely took down a star was that we were given a bottle of water which, upon further inspection, had hair on the inside. We obviously swapped the bottle out but it was still off-putting to see. read more

I was desperately in the mood for a burger and found Grayson's. Simple very clean environment, definitely family friendly with play area and games at the couch/coffee table. Pretty straight forward menu, but I was going for a burger. It was brought fairly quick. It was yummy and had the grease, fell apart towards the end, but was still delish. Fries were good with a salty/sweetness to them. My only issue was the fries weren't consistent or crispy enough and the whole meal wasn't really hot. Stopped by here on our way through Olympic--wow. We have been all over the state and spent time in Seattle, this is the best food we had on the whole trip. The digs are bare-bones because the food speaks for itself. I had the breakfast burrito (simultaneously crunchy, gooey, and delicious), and my partner had a burger and fries. Review is for 2 during lunch time. Parking: There was plenty of parking available in the small plaza square area when we arrived but almost none as we were leaving. Cleanliness: place was very clean, restrooms in good condition. Was even happy to see that they have a baby changing station in the bathroom. Drinks: The menu listed a decent amount of alcoholic beverages (beer/wine) but when we went to order they only had maybe 1/4 of what they listed. No beer taps/cocktails. Food: A very small menu but delicious food! They do what they do very well! We ordered 2 chicken sandwiches with avocado and bacon. The chicken sandwich is thick and juicy, had to take a to go box with me. Fries are seasoned with a smoked sweet seasoning. Some like it, some don't. They automatically come in the seasoning so make sure to ask if you don't want it. Service: You order at the counter and they take your food to you. From there, you buss your own table and go up again if you need to order more. The counter girl was very nice. head here! you won't regret it! i basically did a drive-by en route to la push but i'd stop here again in a heartbeat and may even do so as i backtrack towards home. it was about 10am when i pulled in so half an hour more of breakfast which was fine by me. i got the breakfast sando on an english muffin and it was SUPER TASTY! the aioli is great and it's enough to stave off hunger til lunch for sure. the person who took my to go order was very sweet and brought it outside to the table where i was waiting instead of just calling my name. the bathroom was clean (and if you're a family traveling somewhere, they had a diaper changing station and wet wipes in the women's room which would probably be a lifesaver to those in need) and i appreciated the old skateboards lining the wall before you reach the destination. there's also a cute wall with assorted cutting boards and the tables in the main dining area also looked cleaned and tended. i imagine this place might be packed on weekends but it was full of people who seemed like they were on the go this morning; that might be the nature of port angeles' location on the peninsula but i appreciated that i could get good quality food here. grayson's is at the very end of a strip mall on the corner of 8th closest to lincoln but it would be easily accessible from hwy 101 going either west or east. it's a place that's well worth stretching your legs at or grabbing something to take with you elsewhere! read more

I finally tried Grayson's today for lunch and had the fried chicken sandwich (I'm sorry, I just refuse to call it sando like the menu says, it makes me feel ridiculous). It was made with chicken thigh and was juicy and perfectly cooked. I was afraid the mustard and pickles would overpower it, but they only enhanced it. Despite this, I don't know if I'd get it again only because it was so salty that I almost couldn't enjoy it. I was really glad I got a beverage or I wouldn't have made it. Since other than the saltiness it was fabulous, I might get it again anyway, and I look forward to trying other things on their menu. The fries were seasoned well. I don't really know how to describe the flavor, except to say that they were salty with a hint of sweet, and whatever I get next time, I look forward to more of them. read more

Been looking forward to eating here for a while. We finally made it out there today. I ordered two biscuits and gravy with fried chicken (thigh); spouse ordered a breakfast burrito. The Good--The biscuits were light and fluffy and definitely made in house. They were delicious. The gravy is advertised as sausage gravy (I think) and it was pretty tasty though skimpy on the sausage. The crust on the fried chicken was crunchy which I appreciated. Spouse ate the entire burrito (it was kind of small) and really liked the aioli. The Bad--The breading/seasoning on the fried chicken was so salty that I couldn't finish it. The chicken itself tasted like it was brined also. So a lot of salt in the breading, a lot of salt in the chicken is TOO MUCH SALT. I ate a little more than a third of the chicken thigh and that alone made my mouth feel like I ate an entire bag of salty chips (like a salt burn in my mouth if that's a thing). Unpleasant and a waste of a chicken thigh. Asked the spouse to try it to see if I was being overly sensitive to the salt (I do try to limit my salt intake because I love salt, but my body doesn't) and they agreed it was too salty. Don't get me wrong. I'll definitely go back for the biscuits and gravy someday, but I'd stay away from the chicken until they get the salt thing worked out. read more

Great newish lunch stop in Port Angeles! We were impressed with this fresh made to order, clean set up lunch counter service with indoor and a few outdoor seating tables! For us it is all about the Fried Chicken sandwiches served with a great side of fries! Go for this! Tacos are generous sized but I could not taste any spice.. anyways no worries there are so many good Mexican joints I feel like I can save my taco time for those spots. I will come here to eat this fried chicken (as it's soo good) or try the other Graysons sandwich options that sound fantastic and hope to work my way thru those selections! They also serve can beers or sodas from their cooler. I tried a wonderful coffee porter that was great and only available here in this area. First time stopping in for lunch this afternoon and I ordered the BLT with fries. Soooooo good! How have I never been in here before!? The fries have a sweet bbq seasoning on them and wow! I loved it. I can be quite the picky eater but there were many menu items that stood out especially the breakfast all day options which I'm a HUGE fan of. I'll definitely be back trying those. There's also a little kids kitchen area with toys which caught the eye of my toddler who was nearly ready for a nap, it held him over until his lunch was ready. Yes, there's a little kids menu too! I was just scrolling through pictures and came across some pics from a visit to Graysons this past October. I never take pictures of food but Graysons was the exception! Clean and friendly spot. After checking out the menu and debating since I wasn't sure if it was breakfast or lunch yet, one of the owners, Sean, was kind enough to break his menu down for a newbie. Sean explained everything was made in-house, including biscuits, sauces, etc. This led to me ordering MUCH more food than I could ever handle, and boy was I a happy camper! First off, the fried chicken breakfast sando. I don't think this is a full time menu option, but Graysons seems like the type of place to occasionally add some different options based on what's locally available. Beautifully fried chicken sandwich on French toast with real maple syrup. I have dreamed about this sandwich, hence me scrolling through pictures! Next, homemade biscuits and gravy. I am a bit of a B&G connoisseur, and these more than pass with A's. Some of the best I have ever had. Also ordered the jerk tacos because I have a hot sauce problem..and jerk sauce is the top of my list. The chicken and the jerk sauce were both right on point. Some shredded lettuce and house pickled onions sealed the deal. I don't mix meat with dairy so no cheese for me. Everything was priced appropriately. The owners were friendly and asked about my travel plans. This seems like a family friendly, everyone can come and eat type of place. The only problem I had was that jerk sauce was not available to go. Bottle this up and sell it so I can bring some home to Arizona, please and thank you! The food is solid and staff were nice. However, service was beyond slow. We did arrive during a holiday weekend, tables were full but steadily flow and barely had to wait for a table to open up. 3 of us ordered 1 meal each with no modifications, took nearly 50 mins. There is a sign hanging that states food is made to order and estimated wait times may vary. We were never provided a time and if a counter order establishment takes beyond 30 mins, that should be stated during order. The biggest issue is the 1 cook was clearly only making 1 order at a time unless it was burgers which were batched like you would expect. It's an open kitchen and you are able to observe the service easily from afar, I watched for about 20 mins. As someone who has vast experience in the service industry, especially in the kitchen, they have significant opportunity to learn how to cook multiple orders at a time. There was no rush noted in this kitchen. Again, food was pretty solid once we got it. Fries have a great seasoning. Burgers were well dressed and seemed of good quality. They could do better at describing plates for non burger items. Some you couldn't tell were a sandwich or how it was constructed. read more
