I wouldn't complain about how it's "not authentic Chinese food" or about the quality, because with a name like Great Wall Chinese Buffet I don't know what you were expecting. As far as the food goes this place is average. It tastes like Chinese buffet food. However, I've always found Great Wall to be clean, with HOT food that turns over quickly. There's always a crowd. Chinese buffet's scare me when there's food out and no one's there because usually they take the food and reheat it the next day until it's gone. The food is always fresh. So you should know that you don't go to a Chinese Buffet looking for high-quality ingredients. It's probably full of MSG, bad oils, and whatever else, but it sure does hit the spot from time to time. I have been here one time and left very satisfied. They have plenty of standard Chinese buffet items to choose from - dumplings, noodles, chicken & beef dishes, fruit, jello, those little sweet bread things. Enjoyed the fried shrimp and chicken wings (decent size and quality). Food was refilled rather quickly. Soup was also pretty decent. However, biggest downside was way too much MSG in the food. I couldn't finish a serving of food without chugging down a full glass of water. I'm Asian and not that sensitive to MSG because it's so frequently used in Chinese/Korea/Japanese restaurant cuisine. I usually don't like Chinese buffets because the food is usually very oily, and if the buffet is slow then the food taste cold and nasty. However, Great Wall Super Buffet wasn't the case. I was impressed with the selections and how delicious the food were. If you're into authentic Chinese food, then this place is definitely not for you. Most of their dishes are very Americanized, it's almost like eating at an AYCE Panda Express but with other options like hot and sour soup, California rolls, fried shrimp/ chicken, gyoza, fruits/ desserts, etc. My favorite was their veggie Lo Mein. It's more on the sweeter side but it wasn't too oily nor heavy. I'd recommend anyone thats looking for a local Chinese buffet to give it a try. Food is not bad for a buffet but service is rude. I went here for lunch today and yes, I came late because I got busy at work. I asked whether the lunch was available and they said yes. I know they have both lunch and dinner buffet but I don't know how they transition to it. To make the story short, I finished the first round and noticed quite a few of the food was changed and I saw the label "dinner only". I asked the Mexican guy changing the food what it meant. He basically just said the food changed from lunch to dinner. So I thought ok so I started eating them as well. About 1/2 way through a waitress named Ping approached me and asked whether everything was ok and I said yes. Then she collected some plates from a table not far from me and came to me again and said, "Mam, if you continue eating the dinner menu I going to charge you for dinner." Well, I guess now I know why they put the label "dinner only". It's not that I intentionally went there to rip them off, but I thought that was really rude. I asked how much dinner was and she said $13.95. Ok, it was just a few dollars more and since I ate their dinner menu it's only fair that I paid for it. So I told her that was fine. My problem with this restaurant is, first, they should have informed people that late in the afternoon they have both lunch and dinner menu. If you are eating dinner menu, then you pay for dinner. Second, don't replace your lunch menu with dinner. Now people wanting to eat lunch have less to choose from. You have a whole section of pretty much all fried food which some people don't like to eat and you don't replace those. The section that you replace is the stir fry and you leave the carbs on this section. Now people wanting to eat your stir fry have less to choose from. Why don't you leave the lunch items somewhere else so people can still enjoy them. I like the tofu and only got a piece and when I went to get them for the second round they were replaced with dinner item. The food establishment here is awesome. The buffet for lunch is $8.50 along with a drink it will be $11.35 to be exact. The food is fresh. I always get beef broccoli when I eat Chinese food and the beef here is very tender and flavorful. The deserts are not fantastic but they are ok. The staff is very attentive. 2 times a No-no.... My hubby and I ate here about a month ago and I must say the experience of the customer service and the food was awesome, it made us want more! So yesterday we went back for lunch and I want to say it was the biggest mistake for $28...it seems they have changed the buffet selection, because the food we had the first time was seasoned,hot, and the food trays were full.... Yesterday the food was scarce there was nothing fulfilling, cold and looked like it had been sitting there for hours and picked through.... They get 1 star for service. My family and I arrived at 8:40 pm this evening. Now we do not eat fast, they closed at 9:30. I have never been to a restaurant that rushed you out at closing. Generally they locked the doors so no one comes in and they start cleaning the back. Not this establishment. They turned off the lights in most of the restaurant, put the chairs up o the tables, brought us our check and hoovered around our table. Talk about uncomfortable. Everything tasted the same. Slimey, and had a texture like deep fried fat. The peppered beef was not peppered and tasted more like slimey chicken. When you enter the doors, you are greeted by Chinese sculptures and plenty of seats. my companions and I went to gather food on our plates, first off, the mussels are extremely cheesy and addicting! I must have eaten so many mussels that I had to slow down. I also ate some black pepper shrimp that were large but lacked flavor and were cold. If you want authentic sushi I'd suggest either a Japanese restaurant or perhaps a trip to Tsukuji in Tokyo, Japan. No more than you'd expect Gordon Ramsay quality at Golden Corral.
