Much like my first time here, I'm gonna make this really quick and cut to the chase. So here we have.... Mashed potatoes 3/5 If it were less than 3/5 they should close the doors for good. Meat loaf 3/5 It's edible. It's meat. Though I wouldn't call it meat loaf, more like hamburger that's been formed in a pan. Fried chicken 1/5 Drier than beef jerky but without the flavor. Green tomatoes 4/5 Served at good temp and some flavor here but dying for seasonings. Turkey/dressing balls 1/5 What were they THINKING??? Baked Mac & cheese 4/5 There must be a part timer who comes in just to make this. It just tastes like they actually cared. Sausage & Peppers 1/5 Simple right? Wrong. Overly spiced which ruined the taste of the meat and peppers. Broccoli Casserole 1/5 Again, what were they thinking? I've no idea what they added to this bland batch of slaughtered broccoli. BBQ Ribs 3/5 Overly sweet BBQ but at leasts tastes like it's made from scratch with tender meat, if you can get past the fat and the fact that these do not look like ribs. Overall mediocre at best. Sure, everything tastes like it's homemade, probably because it is. It gives you that "no one tell mom what we really think" feeling, but "let's just fill up on Mac and cheese". The fried green tomatoes were the only other savior but nothing to compliment then. The cakes and pies have that straight from grocery store feeling. Thank god because that means they didn't attempt to destroy the dessert bar too. Well, I've put more thought into this review than you should in eating here. While not the worst buffet I've ever had, there were only two items that really passed. Coupled together with overly cramped quarters (I could stick my arm out and touch the server station), I can't give them anything higher than an overall rating of 2/5 stars. I should have spent more time at the salad bar, which looked much better but let's face it, salad is salad when you're making your own, all looked fresh and good because it requires simple prep. After church we visited this place and was not too sure from the reviews and curbside appearance, but y'all.... The food was AMAZING (minus desserts)?? Great soul food cooking. Seriously this will be our new after church spot! Not sure who cooked today- but they should always be cooking! My teens are picky eaters and said it's the most they've ever eaten at a buffet! It was horrible!!!! My boyfriend, my daughter, and I went there because we read the reviews. NEVER AGAIN!!!! I wasted $36.90 to only the tea. The peach cobbler looked liked can peaches was thrown into a pan, no crust or anything. The macaroni and cheese was nothing but soupy pepper. The spaghetti was dry! My daughter loves macaroni and cheese and spaghetti, she tasted both and said "No mommy!" The roast gravy looked like BBQ sauce, the cabbage had no favor, the corn was okay, the sausage and peppers was burnt, and everything looked rushed. Think Chinese buffet for southern food. Price is great at less than $10 and the choices are plentiful. The desserts alone give you 6-8 choices of cakes, pies and more. The food is okay. Some better than others such as the chili was loved by my wife, while the mac and cheese while homemade was just okay to me. Other things were not good, such as the Fried Green Tomatoes which is kind of ironic. If you are looking for a lot of food for very little cost, check it out. During our first visit about a year ago, we both sampled the Shepards' Pie... then went back for second helpings. On the way out, I bought gift certificates as a gift. On the recent visit, Shepard's Pie was not available so we pitched a [good humored] fit of rage - but the waitress replied with a very supportive message (i.e., "Come back again soon..."). Husband, mother-in-law, and myself loved this place. The selection of food was pretty impressive. We didn't have a bad thing to eat. The only negative thing was there was so much food our stomachs didn't have the room to try it all. Everything from salad, fried green tomatoes (which were great! For the weekday buffet for adults & kids over 8, the price is $8.49 and $1.95 additional for a drink. Children under 8 are $4.49 & kids 2 and younger are free. They have everything from fried chicken, meatloaf, pork chops, pot pie, rutubegas, collards, green beans, corn, lots of salads & toppings, tons of fruit, 10+ pie choices, plus other desserts. It would be almost impossible to list all of the choices on this buffet. The employees are also very friendly and they are constantly cleaning the establishment to make it presentable. I was pleasantly surprised by the vegetable options available at the buffet! I opted for macaroni and cheese with vegetable sides of: Lima beans, greens, and carrots with a cornbread muffin. The vegetables weren't overcooked and tasted pretty good. My momma had: fried catfish, fried chicken, macaroni and cheese with the okras, tomatoes, and beans. Well, I went to Green Tomato for the 2nd time today. The first time I went, I was visiting Greenville. This second time visiting, I am a resident of Greenville. Whoohoo!! I love Greenville, and I still love Green Tomato! Even though it was crowded, we were seated quickly. The food is still delicious and the variety is really good. I was with family and we all tried different things. Fried Chicken, Fried Fish, Chicken Fried Steak, Fried Green Tomatoes, Chilli, Mac and Cheese, Collard Greens, Mashed Potatoes, Pasta Salad and Butter Beans. Whew! Now, I didn't eat all that. That's what we had collectively, and they had so many other sides and entrees that we didn't get to try. Everyone enjoyed their food, and I enjoyed everything accept the Chicken Fried Steak. The restaurant is clean and the waitresses are friendly and attentive. If you're on a diet or a health fanatic, this is not the place for you, but if you enjoy good southern comfort food, or as I call it, "soul food" from time to time, you should definitely try Green Tomato. read more

I went into the establishment around 11:00AM..there was a couple of ladies already seated..This early in the day I'm thinking the food would be fresh..they have raised their pricing about 4.00 making my bill a lil over 16.00...they said due to Covid..my ONLY plate consisted of butter beans in a bowl..a piece of baked chicken and green tomatoes..the tomatoes were fresh..the chicken was tough and luke warm..the beans were ICE COLD! I brung the attention to my server...she stated she would go speak to someone..she came back and to ask if she wanted me to reheat my food..No ma'am i dont bc it should be fresh @ this time of the day was my response...i began to walk towards the lady @ the front..there was a line..i didnt want to address the situation in the other customers (i wish i had of now)..i w/to my car and called in..the lady that answered said the mngr wasn't in and she would call back..i waited til about 3pm and called them back..the "mngr" admitted to not heating the beans up in enough time for the shift and that i should've dug to the bottom of the pan for the warm chicken..I'm like ARE YOU KIDDING MEEEE!??????? This is one of our regular dining spots. We love the great selection of vegetables and cold salad items. They always have consistency in their food prep and presentation. Service has never been a problem and if you are tired of places like Ryans and Golden Corral, you will like this because the food selections are way better, the establishment is cleaner, you don't have kids playing in the dessert bar. Looking around we knew this place was trouble. Shady clientele and not much of a selection either. Let me say that I don't expect high class from a buffet but I do expect a selection. Their was none! No meat, just fried matter everywhere. I got the fried chicken (which was fried to a crisp) mashed potatoes (that tasted like it was from a box) and some fruit (which I found out was from a can).
