Trying so hard to like this place but seriously not for me. I am not a vegetarian nor vegan anything so that doesn't help my liking to this place. I can't even remember my first dish but it did take about 40mins. They were quick to gave us a free entree voucher for our next visit and we didn't even complain to them about the wait. I did have one of their lemonades and just thought it was expensive lemonade. Then I came to use my "free entree" coupon and ordered the tuna poke bowl. It was free but disappointing. They don't use sushi rice and not even japanese rice!!! wth! The poke sauce is just like a soy sauce (or sad ponzu) and alot of sesame seeds. This place did not disappoint on anything we ordered. Got the BBQ Pulled Pork Melt, the Greek Chicken Melt, 2 agave lemonades, a side of the fried green tomatoes, and a vegan brownie. And everything was amazing! The melts were big and very filling, the lemonades are perfectly sweet but not too sweet, the vegan brownie... Oh the brownie... It was pure fudgey goodness. We got the last brownie they had because they sell out quickly. They also have vegan and gluten free options so everyone is welcome. So my first review deserves five stars! Ordered the Thai Peanut Chicken Bowl and it was the bomb.com! I request the cilantro lime rice instead of the white, not sure if i got it or not. Honestly there was so much flavor it was hard to tell. I recommend this bowl and will get it again! Okay so my second review gets only two stars for food. Ordered the Chile verde steak bowl and i was sadly disappointed. The steak had good flavor but everything else lacked flavor. I don't think they had any Chile verde sauce and the veggies and beans seemed way over cooked to me. I bought a side of the habanero fire sauce and that helped. I won't be getting it again. I place my orders online and pick up, they are always ready when requested and the staff is friendly. I also like that i receive a text message to confirm my order as "ready". read more

I ordered one of the vegan burgers with sweet potato fries on the side. Fries were awesome! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. All the veggies on the burger were fresh. The burger doesn't come with sauce, but I mixed their Garlic Chili sauce with ketchup and it tasted great. The patty itself was a tad dry, but wasn't a big issue. Overall, good meal. read more

I looked up "healthy food" on yelp while driving in brea and randomly found this place, I've never heard of it before. When I pulled up, I could automatically tell this place was "poppin." There was a lot of people and it was also clear that it was a vey "family friendly" environment. There were kids/ family everywhere, they got WiFi and I even think they serve alcohol if I'm not mistaken. Anyways I got the BBQ Crispy Tofu Bowl and I was not disappointed. It was both filling and tasty...& only cost about $8.75. The food also came it very quick, I was not waiting long at all, so this place is also good if you're looking for something fast. They offer a wide selection of healthy options ranging from salads to melts to burgers to wraps plus more. Something for everyone. Took the 4 of us awhile to decide because so many items sounded very good. I did not try any one else's orders, but everyone was happy. I was very pleased with my Chile Verde Steak Bowl. It included grilled steak, bell peppers, beans, corn, onions, and cilantro. All sitting on a bed of cilantro lime rice with chile verde and topped off with avocado. A great place to eat healthy and flavorful food. The atmosphere is nice and the service has always been pleasant. Of course, I would say this food isnt for everyone as it is more of a healthy vegetarian friendly place, but they do serve chicken and other non vegetarian items so you can't really go wrong if someone has invited you here and you aren't keen on some poultry/meat substitutes. That being said I would say this place is very Americanized in the sense that the food is flavorful, but dont expect anything authentic. Green Tomato Grill has become my second home when I moved to Brea. It's walking distance from my home and work. For lunch today I decided to try their new Philly Chicken Melt on grilled flatbread. I had them remove the mushrooms and peppercinis and I was not disappointed. Melted cheese, a generous amount of chicken, grilled peppers and onions on a thick, grilled flatbread. It was wonderful and very flavorful. I still miss the removal of the fried green tomatoes from their menu, but the chef responded to my message on here saying they are working to make them better and will return to the menu. I hope they return soon. I have tried the sweet potato fries and the crispy cauliflower, and although they are both good, they cannot compare to the fried green tomatoes. I must also add that the restaurant is always clean and the staff are friendly and very helpful. The only negative I have experienced here is that the music can be turned up too loud at times. It can make it difficult to carry on a conversation with friends while enjoying your meal. read more
