Great and healthy food. Definitely a place I will over and over again! I have been attending this place for years.

A great example of a fast casual restaurant. We came in here for lunch and luckily there wasn't a line. I ordered the grilled calamari burrito, the kid ordered the chicken Ranch salad wrap and my cousin ordered the Greek steak wrap. The restaurant is located in a shopping center with a lot parking available. When you first enter there's a cashier where you can pick up to go orders and then to the left is the line to place your order. Once the order is placed you get number and find a table. Against the back wall you'll find the soda machines, utensils, napkins and shelves of hot sauces!!!! The interior of the restaurant is decorated in that modern industrial style. Very clean and cool. After about 10 minutes our food arrives looking good enough to eat. My burrito was massive! The calamari was well cooked so that it was snappy and tender at the same time. A little too much rice and I think the addition of some lettuce would have lightened it up a little. With a squeeze of lemon and a dash of hot sauce it made a filling and satisfying lunch! The kid loved his chicken wrap, I could tell because he sat there in silence and basically inhaled it. Afterward he couldn't stop raving about. The Greek steak salad was good but lacked a little seasoning. I think maybe a little more feta and a splash of red wine vinegar would be useful. All in all a great place for lunch. Placed an order for the first time at this restaurant. Good food and delivery was quick.

Today we ordered an online take out order. When we walked in we were told they'd call our name once our order was ready. Not only did they not let us know when our food was ready after letting it sit for god knows how long, we were treated so poorly by the lady working. We paid for vegan ranch and when we walked back to the car we noticed to I wasn't in our bag, so my husband walked back in to get it. She didn't believe him we already paid for an extra sauce. Lol We always have a pleasant experience here but today we were extremely disappointed. The staff needs to learn manners and customer service. Especially the woman working in the front. What to order: - steak chimichurri bowl - anything really FOOD: LOVE how the portions of the food here equate to the quality of how well cooked everything is. My first time here was after a long day working out and in the sun, so I came hungry. Getting the steak bowl was the right choice because ya girl got her grub on and enjoyed every bit of it AND had some leftover for dinner. Love at first bite. AMBIENCE: the layout of the restaurant had nice furnitures paired with relaxing tunes - whoever is on the ones and twos / got the aux cord plug is on it. Definitely a great place to catch up with a friend and to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere. I even saw people getting work done here and my initial reaction was "OOO IS LIKE DAT over here?" Either way, I dig it. The outdoor patio of the restaurant is aesthetic AF. Great place to bring your pupparoos to have a little doggie date and play a friendly competitive game of cornhole. I was disappointed that there were errors in my order. They forgot one item (squash tacos) and did not provide the extra sauce that was requested (because of COVID didn't want to share a single container of sauce between two people). They are currently take out only because of COVID. They were out of matcha muffins when I was there and my friend, who eats there all the time, said the fried green tomatoes were unusually greasy today. Overall, kinda a bummer of a stop but I tasted the apple muffin and it was crunchy on top and soft on the inside and very flavorful. There is plentiful parking in the parking lot. read more

CAUTION: Cross Contamination Story: Another defeat in the life of a pescatarian... let's begin shall we? My girlfriend and I decided to go to The Green Tomato Grill due to yelp search for solid vegetarian and pescatarian options... my girlfriend ordered the vegan burger, which is made from beets, which is one of their signature dishes. The burger was a bit cold, did not feel fresh, the burger was very bland and lacked seasoning. Usually when my girlfriend gets something she doesn't like I take one for the team and switch dishes, but the vegan burger in one bite made me want to spit it out. I ordered a create your own bowl with salmon and numerous vegetables including cooked spinach, tomatoes, and onions. The vegetables were quite delicious, but the salmon was bland, unseasoned, and they gave me white rice instead of the green lime cilantro rice that I originally ordered. Now onto the cross contamination segment... while going through my bowl, there was a piece of chicken in my bowl. As a pescatarian I was very displeased. I wanted to complain but I decided not to and both my girlfriend and I didn't finish our $30 meal. Very disappointing, but the establishment does have good service, clean bathrooms, and a lot of places to sit. You can bring your dog and eat outside as well. They have delicious looking desserts, cold brew coffee options and have latte options as well. I had my first meal here today and I must say, I've been missing out! I've been gluten free for 5 years after discovering I have celiac disease. I was already a picky eater and I was left trying to work around those issues. I can never seem to find a place to eat that can accommodate my dietary needs without 1. Making me sick or 2. Tasting terrible. This place was a god send. It didn't make me sick and everything tasted amazing. If they opened a location in Long Beach, Lakewood, or Torrance I'd be there 3 times a week. Okay so I was going to my Super Bowl party and I was thinking of what to get to share with my friends. I was already thinking they'd have fried chicken and all the greasy bad food which I was thinking of avoiding. The Green Tomato is a delicious place to eat! Always passed by, but never stopped. Now that I have joined the vegan lifestyle and found that this place makes vegan food I can't stop going! They do not only have vegan food. They have breakfast lunch and dinner options. I've gotten family and friends to love this place aS well. There chili verde bowl with tofu is delicious. The buffalo cauliflower is very good! There is still so much to try here. I am just stuck on these two options right now, but eventually I would love to explore their whole menu. Vegan pastries here as well if that what you are looking for. People are very friendly here and place is well cleaned. Outside patio is dog friendly and set up beautifully. Love this place!! The food here is delicious and health conscious. I got one of their tofu wraps and I'm not a vegetarian, but it was very flavorful. Their portions are huge and I think they are priced just right. The patio area is amazing and they even have corn hole! I love that they are encouraging people to be outdoors. It's a great atmosphere and the staff is friendly. I should also mention that they have dessert options, their vegan cookies are so good you would never know they are vegan. My only complaint is that they clean up very early. They were putting all the food that was on display away nearly 2 hours before closing. The workers were also rushing to wipe down all the tables. This was very off putting especially when the sign says they are open for 2 more hours. read more

i used to like this place but the last time we came here we both got sick from the food. given what was ordered the only way we could have got food poisoning was from poor handling of vegetables. this is unforgivable and so I would never recommend any of my friends or family to support this place any longer. on top of that, the guys who work the cash register are helpless. typical millennial types that expect the world to cater to them. poor work ethic and self proclaimed importance to the world. i really hope this place can turn around the business. i know it's been hard for businesses during covid but the dramatic dip in quality makes it hard for people to want to continue to support your spot. best of luck read more

Wed Nov 25th 12 Noon. Been here dozens of times! Good healthy food but the lack of attention is really starting to get to us and affecting our discussion on wanting to come back. First off it wasn't busy. We always order multiple things and only 1 of them this time had an exception. No Cotija cheese on a Mediterranean Bowl. After confirming it with the order taker and having them repeat it back we get home 10 mins away and the chef left us a surprise. (Yes we travel for good food) Unfortunately with cotija you can't separate it from rice in a bowl and its not worth the round trip to replace. Sad this is not the first time. *Updated Review* 7/22/18 We were in the area and low on vegan options, and decided to try this place again. I ordered the vegan quinoa chili, it should have been named mushroom soup (see pic). It was like dirty dishwater with a mountain of mushrooms, nothing like a chili at all. My youngest daughter is not vegan, and we ordered her a kids burger with no cheese. They put cheese, then peeled it off and served it anyway, thank goodness she's not deathly allergic to dairy or it would have been bad. It was served dry and it was gross even with ketchup, it smelled bad. Hummus had good flavor and I like the combo of basil with hummus, but was chunky and watery, texture was gross. I ordered it mainly for the pita to dip in my "chili", but since I had watery soup it didn't serve its purpose. We should have went to Del taco and gotten bean burritos, $40 down the drain. super bummed to write this after being a customer with them for so long. Started eating here a few years ago and was a consistent weekly/biweekly customer. service was always great, food was constant. Lost track of how many salmon bowls i've eaten. About a year ago i saw a massive downgrade in portion sizing for my salmon bowl and thought huh, "maybe it's.m new kitchen staff" and didn't say anything until about the 3rd time i noticed that my usually beautiful full blown of salmon and rice was literally all rice with about 5 pieces of salmon and no dressing. So i called. Girl on the phone was amazingly kind and understanding on the phone, says this is/was not the first mention of this issue and offered me a free meal, I said thank you but no, i don't mind paying as long as the management is aware long time customers are starting to notice. I did not eat there for 5 months. So This morning my roommate and I ordered breakfast and it's clear nothing has changed. He bought a side of bacon and they gave him some grease filled bacon bits in a cup, when he requested strip form they flat out denied him!? No reasoning which was very suspect. My meal was fine, for some reason they couldn't bother to place my avocado in the soyrizo burrito so i had to eat it separate? (defeats the purpose but i'm nit picking here ) and the breakfast bowls are just not quite worth the money for what you receive. The ingredients are always quality but now that i'm eating deconstructed burritos and stuff and i can do that in LA if i want that kind of experience. It's clear things in the kitchen haven't changed to much, I wish them luck but greens and things is down the street and they're menu offerings are similar in health conscious food as well as quality. read more

Heard a lot about this place and it truly lived up to its reputation. I have never seen a more healthy array of items on a menu. I had trouble choosing because I was afraid of the portion size. No need to fear. Their portion sizes are just right. My wife got the Mediterranean bowl (brown rice, chicken, bell pepper, chick peas... can't remember) and it was very fulfilling for her. I ordered their Poké bowl and found myself very satisfied. I even got their cucumber mint drink and that was absolutely refreshing. We will definitely come back to this place to try more on its menu. Definitely better than average. My only gripe was that it was a $1 refill for the specialized drink. I guess that's not too bad. But, now YOU know when you order it. They've got a great design to the place. A great patio area for fun and games. They even have a specialized place designed just for kids (chalk area!). I ordered from here for the first time through door dash. I ordered the Mediterranean salad and added avocado. They didn't send it with any dressing which was disappointing because I can't eat a dry salad. So, I paid a tip for the driver which ended up being $32 dollars for my meal in total since I also order a kombucha.
