I ordered two catering items from Green Tomato Grill for a baby shower. Considering there were three pregnant women and their equally picky spouses at the event, I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to everyone, but GTG's catering items were an absolute hit! It was a *lot* of food, and yet we had nearly no leftovers afterward. We had the Greek wraps platter and the pad thai dish, both with chicken and both absolutely delicious and healthy. The workers at GTG who helped with the order were so kind and helpful, with one of them even bringing the items to my car for me. We'll be back! read more

Being fans of the GTG in Orange, when we saw that they were having a soft opening on 12/15, we decided a late lunch was in order. My boyfriend loves the poke bowl and orders it every time. On the other hand, I try to get something different. Today I tried the BBQ pulled pork melt and it was delicious!! A little spicy, but not enough to turn me away from ordering it again. We tried the corn chowder soup and the tomato soup. Both were delicious. Lots of fresh corn and very flavorful (almost like a tortilla soup). I am trying to venture out and try different things on the menu. My daughter also had an egg sausage pie. It was full of lots of ground sausage. The gluten free crust was flaky and light. It was such a pleasant surprise finding out that Green Tomato Grill opened another location close by. It's a great place for a relatively healthy, quick breakfast, lunch, or dinner! They have an extensive menu of gluten-free and vegetarian options under $10. I had the chile verde steak rice bowl, which had beans, corn, avacado, bell peppers, onions, and a sprinkle of cilantro. It was like a chipotle bowl with a twist. It's better with the habanero salsa (has a good kick but not too spicy- definitely check out the hot sauce wall if you like it spicy). My friend had the chile verde steak flatbread which has essentially the same ingredients as the rice bowl but in a pressed flatbread with melted cheese. Great for large groups with cute indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the registers and they'll give you a number to hang at your table. They'll buss the tables for you afterwards. Super friendly service, took about 5 min to get our food, and they're open until 9 pm! read more

I love how this place has great tasting food and a pleasant atmosphere. I had the Chile Verde Steak Melt, and it was super delicious. I had it with the habanero salsa, and it was tasty, but I wish it was spicier. I tried both the Pineapple Berry Lemonade and the Cucumber Ginger Mint (my partner and I both got one) and they were really refreshing. I'm not a mint fan, but I did like the Cucumber Ginger Mint Lemonade. The first word that popped in my head when I tasted it was "fresh." You'll have to try it to see what I mean. Before I left, I got a Coconut Mocha latte, which was pretty damn tasty. I'd get it again. My partner is a vegetarian and I appreciate that I can bring her here so she can have multiple options. The restaurant was roomy and I appreciated them having a kids table with a chalkboard that kids could play with. We didn't use it since we sat outside, and it was really nice outside. Alright it's not that crazy but the chairs and lighting stands out and when I walked in 'Maps' by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs was playing. I'd describe the food genre as lunch cafe-esque -- sandwiches, wraps, etc, style food. The tofu bowl is delicious, despite it being vegetarian. The sandwiches were all delicious, love the bread, but for value I go for the wraps. The wraps are amazing. The lettuce was unbelievable. I find lettuce so difficult to prepare/keep crunchy and fresh, yet these wraps nailed it and they just look so well made and compact with love. It's chipotle-ish price-wise a little more expensive. GT also has a poke bowl, so that makes another place I can get poke in Brea. There also were dogs chilling in the patio, so das cool. read more

I am just a food delivery driver but they continually refuse to give out plates, napkins, eating and serving utensils and cups to meals they cater out too. They will give same to individual take-out customers but treat us pickups for catered meals differently. read more

I've passed by Green Tomato Grill many times and seen the amazing Yelp reviews it got, but finally came to eat dinner here. It meets up to every expectation!! We ordered the green chile verde steak bowls and they came out fast and with great presentation! We also tried some of the drinks and they are also refreshing. Lastly, we got the banana nut cheesecake muffins and they are delicious. Best part is all of the food here is healthy! The restaurant is super cute with a calm ambiance. I also recommend students to also come and study here! Everything was also topped off with great service as the employees greeted us kindly. Green verde braise was good and clean and healthy, and I loved the toppings. but next time I was to try the red beef braise. Sweet potato fries were excellent with aioli sauce. Cilantro steak bowl, chimmichuri steak bowl, surf and turf, and Thai peanut are all amazing. The only thing I haven't liked is the Mediterranean bowl. Thus place is so healthy and wonderful. My friend and I saw this place on the way to the gym, thought it looked cool so we looked it up online and saw that this was like unique healthy food restaurant. We thought PERFECT thing to have after the gym in the morning. So after our time at the gym we went straight there. It had a really cool vibe, nice and open with green plants everywhere. Even though it was early in the morning neither one of us got breakfast (not really breakfast people but I know they have it there). I got a shrimp wrap and it was AMAZING one of the best I've had. Filled with shrimp and was a really good portion, I couldn't even eat it all. My friend got a poke bowl that she really did like but also came across the same problem of not being able to finish it. The hype around this place is real. I was really excited to eat here because it seemed like a healthy option for lunch but my coworkers and I were severely disappointed. Ordered: Chile Verde Steak Bowl with sweet potato fries and a Watermelon Basil lemonade. Pros: Lemonade was delicious. Sweet potato fries were nice and crispy. Cons: Everything about the steak bowl. It was supposed to come with cilantro-lime rice but the rice just tasted like Uncle Ben's Minute Rice. Yuck. The flavors were ok, but I was really unimpressed because it tasted like I made it at home. Maybe it's just me but I eat out for a higher level of flavor. I love GTG. I usually frequent the Orange flagship location, so this was my first time here. The decor is much cuter than the orange location, and if you get it "for her" everything is served in chic modern looking dishes, whereas in orange, everything is served in their cardboard to-go containers. The only other main difference vs orange is the CYO (create your own) items are not as noticeable. In brea the CYO menu is on the counter top, whereas in orange they have nice laminated forms you mark for your CYO. Lauren was the cashier today. She was sooooo friendly and nice and patient with me helping me download the rewards app. She was also really friendly with my friend, who has never been there before. If it's your first time here, it can be so hard to choose bc there's so many yummy choices. I ordered my go to Crispy BBQ Tofu Bowl (half brown rice, half mixed greens). This is my favorite thing here. I just couldn't give the fifth star bc my Bowl was a little more dry, and didn't have as much sauce as the orange location puts. I did go to the counter to ask for a side more sauce. I love that they also have calorie counts and gluten free and vegan options. Another plus, it's located in a shopping center with plenty of parking so need to worry about the overcrowded and congestion of other plazas in the area. read more

The server was so kind and understanding with my stepdad's million questions and was very sweet when we asked to try one of the Lemonades and then opted to pass on it. Not because it was bad, because it was amazingly good, but because we just weren't feeling it. I ordered the Ahi Poke bowl and it was fine. The rice was a touch under cooked and crunchy for my taste. But the Tuna was super fresh and all the veggies were bright and crunchy. The dressing had just the right amount of Sriracha spice. I made and error and misread the onions as begin green onions and they were not, my error and there were tons to pick out. oops! I will not read things the way i want next time. :) My mom asked for the Chicken Ranch wrap thing on a Sun Dried tomato wrap as opposed to the Chipotle on that is usually comes on, because she does not like any level of spicy in her food. When the Wrap arrived it was in the correct tortilla but there was something inside the wrap that was pretty spicy. The host tried to explain that there was nothing that could have that heat level and rereading the ingredients we agreed. But there may have been something in the rub on the chicken that caused the heat level. It kind of crept up on you after a few bites. Step dad got the Mediterranean chicken bowl with a different sauce for reasons I cant remember. He got it with the Chili Verde sauce instead. It looked good but I didn't try it and there were no complaints from him or my mom. They switched after the spicy wrap was discovered. The food here is actually really good. They're able to blend a lot of elements from Greek to Japanese to Mediterranean to Thai and all balances so well. It's also super healthy which is amazing to get a chipotle like food, healthy style. Surprisingly the salads and wraps are pretty good too and they always have fresh drinks they change up every once in a while. I had an amazing experience. I can't tell you what a special trip this was and the service I've experienced. First of all, I yelped food/vegan/gluten-free and Green Tomato came up amongst a few others. I looked at the menu and found a great review and photo about the Thai chicken salad. I was stunned by the menu when I got there. Will helped me out and was kind enough to help me with a full Togo order. I caught the vegan gluten free cookies from the corner of my eyes and he threw one in ( so kind!) I tried the cookie and ended up buying 10 cookies. I've NEVER in my life (out of all cookies I've ever tired in my life) ever tried a cookie (double dark chocolate) as good as this in my life. I hate to go on, because I know this seems like a fake yelp.... I have to go on! I ordered the fried green tomatoes, because the name of the game @ grilled tomatoes! It's the best fried food I've ever had! Please try them and leave a comment on my post! Last but not least, A special shout to the marketing manager for being the sweetest doll in the world. Came by yesterday for lunch. It was our first time and the cashier walked us through some great choices. He let us taste a sample of a jalapeño citrus juice. Very interesting. I have eaten here several times. I'm plant based and my boyfriend is not. We are both consistently happy with our food. I've had the plant based burger and several of the bowls. I am not sure what they do but it is the best crispy tofu I have ever had. Their bowls are so delicious. I usually rotate between the Thai Peanut Bowl, BBQ Bowl and the Chili Verde Bowl. All of them are good it just depends on the mood I am in. Now they have Buffalo Cauliflower.....So I am officially stuffed when I eat here because I can't not order the Buffalo Cauliflower. We order kid's bowl, Hawaii poki, and blacken calamari burrito. Kid's bowl is perfect for preschooler so my grade school boy is going home hungry.
