Good steak, good beer, good service - solid all around if not a bit pricy for the quality.

As far as airport hotel restaurants are concerned, Grill & Vine is way better than most. I've dined at both the Westin DIA and Millbrae location (near SFO) and would say both are 4-stars at least. The Denver location is huge! They can accommodate parties of 4+ with ease. There's even an outdoor patio that feels kinda sorta like you're dining at a non-airport hotel restaurant. On a summer evening, it's quite lovely. Food and drink options are beyond what you'd find in the main DIA terminal as well (note that you have to have a plane ticket and go through security to get to the really good stuff). Would I rather eat steak and frites with a glass of wine or Panda Express with a fountain Sprite? I pick steak and frites with a glass of wine, s'il vous plait. Speaking of wine, their selection at Grill & Vine is pretty good. By the glass or bottle, there's a little somethin' for everyone. Cocktail selection is also quite good no matter if you're comparing to a "regular" restaurant outside of the airport, too. Our server was so nice and made sure that our glasses were full (wine and water) and that plates were cleared as soon as they looked empty. Dinner for three people with appetizers, salad, a bottle of wine and entrees came out to about $50 per person. Again, for quality food and service like you would find at most restaurants in the Denver metro area. If you've got a long layover at the airport or are meeting someone in town for a brief stay, Grill & Vine seems like a perfectly reasonable choice if you don't want to do fast food. read more

The worst service that I have ever experienced at a Westin restaurant. We were seated and staff seemed completely oblivious to us and those around us. After a very long wait we finally left. This is the first 1 star restaurant review that I have ever written - the manager of this restaurant, if there is one, is either entirely absent or completely engrossed in some other endeavor. The bartender kept announcing to the bar how many beers I had have. The other bartender was some lackey from God knows where. What a bunch of idiots! I guess it's the airport but Jesus man, they are lacking brain cells at this place. I've had better meals at Denny's. My wife, son, daughter, and I ate at the restaurant last night. Not one of us thought the food was good. My dish, pork tamales, may have been passable if it was warm. My wife and I had starter salads that would have been better without dressing. The old fashoined that I ordered may have been the worst mixed drink that I've ever had. I have had better at an open bar at a wedding. Grill and Vine is a fabulous restaurant for breakfast and lunch (probably dinner too from what its name suggests) - very nice menu items prepared fresh and served fast ... expect it on the pricey side, you're out there at DIA ... plus it's a five Hotel -- but you definitely get what you pay for. I tried the Egg Cilaquiles, crisp corn tortillas with scrambled eggs and red pepper/tomatillo sauce. Definitely something I'll try to make for a Sunday morning breakfast idea . read more

Very mixed. Some of the waitstaff are very friendly but most were rather oblivious to what's going around them. I spilled some hot water right in front of one waiter and they didn't event bother to help. I asked for a couple of napkins and both waiters at the computer were like "what? Oh. Here." They didn't even care why I needed several napkins. Ordered tea and there was a thermos of hot water and a box of Tazo teas to choose from. However, there was no place to put the used teabag. Most upscale place then have also some honey or lemon (which some folks really like) to give it some class. It appears a person who doesn't drink tea but only coffee decided this presentation. One star for delicious food. One star for solid service. But that is about it. The host/hostess staff and manager lack warmth and the ability to think on their feet. Everything is rules based. "We close at ten" so food and drink are picked up and tables are cleaned. "We had last call so I'm sorry, you can't have a dessert or a drink, even to take away." By the way, with Covid a huge part of their business is take away and they encourage it. And, Ummm it's an airport hotel restaurant! No one is driving. People need food an bevies at all hours. I have been at this place three times because the Westin Hotel is a nice and convenient place for an early departure and the rest is at the lower floor (convenient). And every time it has been the same. There has been no improvement over the last three years. In the this visit, I ordered salmon and it was serve crispy, almost burned. Have never seen salmon served well-done. I returned and got something else. The wait to receive the food was about 30 min and the crew does not seem well organized. The food here was good, decor nice, and the atmosphere pleasant -- except for some rude fellow patrons with lots of luggage watching a loud video on one of their phones. Can't fault the restaurant for that! Service was not speedy, but we weren't in a rush to catch a plane. Deviled eggs were too horseradishy for me, but fellow diners liked them. This was a terrible experience. Ordered the Grill and Vine burger, it was flavorless and watery. If I spend $20 on a burger it should be decent. I could have microwaved a beef patty at home, put some bacon on top and it would have been an improvement over what was served to me. Terrible. My waiter never checked in after delivering my meal to see how the food or drink was although he walked by several times. I would have given some reasonable feedback if asked. If based on our first impression and rude treatment by the hostess I'd have given it a one star. Our party of seven was told by the front desk that reservations were not required. We went down to dine and were told they couldn't accommodate us for dinner by the hostess. We were then told only if we ate quickly ( 1 hour) that they would seat us because a large party had a reservation that night. Why would you ever say that???! So bizarre and if there was another option we would have left. Turns out they had plenty of tables and the table set for the party with that large reservation- well we weren't even taking that space. It was set nearby in the room and our waitress had no idea why accommodating us was an issue. I would have given a 4 or 5 because our server was excellent and the food was delicious (overpriced but that's to be expected at the airport). Unfortunately we were greeted by a very angry hostess. When I asked where the rest room was she sighed loudly and stated, "in the back", without making eye contact. When I went to the wrong "back" she got angry-she rolled her eyes and when she thought I turned around she rolled her eyes again, shook her head and complained about me to a server. I don't know why she would be so openly rude or aggressive to a simple, polite question. She continued to give dirty looks to my party. Bizarre, uncomfortable, and odd. Why the hate? Disappointed. Was expecting a good steak, the aged rib eye was just sad. The kids meals (their filet) seemed tasty. So disappointing. Service had a lot to be desired, it's like they forgot they seated us (drinks took 25 min) and they were not busy. The salmon salad was ok, and the friend said the Cesar salad good. It's very disheartening when go out to meal with friends visiting from out of town thinking it's a great place (incorrectly assumed was similar to the Grill & Vine in San Francisco). They burnt and over cooked all 4 steaks while under cooking the Brussels sprouts. And this was all after a lengthy wait for the food . It was expensive for the quality of the food The restaurant was full at 8:30pm so additional restaurants would be a great idea. I'm a local and this is a disgrace as a first impression to Denver. The food is mediocre at best and the drinks are skimpy and overpriced. I ordered a glass of wine and felt like I was at a Catholic Church. Just take a look at the pink sand levels in the wine glasses behind the bar to see how POOR the pour will be. Over priced for sure! I was staying at the Westin and had dinner here. I ordered the safest thing on the menu: the Grill & Vine Burger with bacon & cheddar. We were all pretty hungry and asked for some bread, which was ok... the crust was a little dark. Of all the drinks they had I was surprised to find they don't have sangria! A little disappointing. I was also disappointed when my burger came out and saw it had mayo on it... The menu didn't say anything about mayo. Lettuce, onion, and tomato, but no mention of mayo. I discarded the top half of my burger and ate the bottom half with my fries. It was still more than enough food. So this place gets the job done, but nothing impressive, especially for the price. read more
