Red beans and rice and cup of seafood gumbo.
    Kim B.

I wonder if it's called Grumpy's because that is how you feel after you wait over an hour to get your food. It was very hard not to walk out. I has never taken so long to get food ever. There was one larger party of about 10 people and another couple of women seated when we arrived. We ordered just after we walked in. My husbands side salad came after 30 minutes. 40 plus minutes later his red beans and rice with sausage was served along with my cup of gumbo. My shrimp salad came out 5 minutes later. The food tasted good. It was hot and fresh. It just took too long to be served. Did they run out of something and have to go buy more? As we left we noticed the car we had parked next to was now in a different spot and facing out when it had been in when we arrived. The service was unremarkable. After taking our order and bringing water the waitress never checked on us. She never explained why the food was so slow or if we needed anything while we waited. Other customers complained about the delay with the food.

We stopped by Grumpy's after our airboating tour. Loved the food and atmosphere. It felt like an old diner. The female server was very helpful to us tourists. I was a PoBoy rampage when we were in New Orleans so I ordered a shrimp poboy. It was decent! Freshly made for sure. We had a catfish PoBoy and that was awesome! Fried chicken PoBoy was good. Friend Cauliflower .. Yum!. Onion rings to die for! It was a fun experience ! And had decent food!

First time eating gumbo and it is not what I imagined does not taste like seafood one bit filled with flavor.

Great place to try my first gumbo ever was very surprised with how it did not taste like fish but filled with great flavor next time I will definitely ask for more rice.

Stayed in houma and wanted to meet a friend from Kenner halfway. Lol there was really nothing halfway but saw this place with good reviews and decided to try it. Place is easy to miss bc no big signs really so look out for it. Such a nice comfy place to eat. Our waitress was definitely amazing and friendly. The definition of southern hospitality. Had a caramel milkshake, oyster poboy and mozzarella sticks. I have nothing bad to say. The oysters were fried really well the batter was tasty. The mozzarella surprisingly has a lot of gooey cheese it was better than a lot of mozzarella I've tried and the batter was good. If you like mozzarella sticks. Try it. Friend had the special corn and crab bisque in a bread bowl. The soup was flavorful. Bread bowl was okay nothing special.

    Great lunch! Thank you!

Great lunch , thanks for taking care of us! Hole in the wall off the highway but don't let that fool you. It's a great place to eat!

Definitely worth the stop on the way to Grand Isle. Soft shell crab poboy and shrimp Poboy were excellent.

This is 1/2 of the shrimp poboy.

Good, homemade food. Everything is priced very cheaply, daily lunches and family operated. Great service.

The food was great and the price was fair. The only thing that annoyed a bit was that it was really slow.

I prefer them a bit smaller but kudos to this joint for size and cleanliness of the crawdads. Nothing worst than dirty, gritty crawfish. I think they only offer a few items bc they are still fairly new so im looking forward to trying them again when they have a few more things on the menu. Good start out the gates though.

We got a bunch of appetizers: calamari wings, garlic, fries, and garlic noodles, and they were all great though the garlic noodles were probably my least favorite. Crawfish wise, we ended up getting 5 pounds of the Viet Cajun and 5 pounds of the EZ blend along with sides of corn, sausage and potatoes. Everything was great and had a lot of flavor, and we were pretty surprised by the size of the crawfish. I really enjoyed both flavors though if I had to pick, I would say the Viet Cajun was better and had more flavor. My table had four of us and we weren't able to finish everything. Overall, this spot was delicious and I love all of the variety. I love variety and options, so I will say that I wish there were more flavor options for the crawfish!
