My wife and I stopped by here after walking around the Jackalope Art Fair in Burbank that they closed down San Fernando Blvd for. I don't come here often but since we were here and my wife was hungry, she chose Guisados. They were a little busy from other people attending the Art Fair as well. We found a seat inside and decided to dine here. My wife got her tacos and I asked for two steak tacos. They charge a card fee here so just be aware if you're going to pay with your credit card. Our food didn't take long to come out and they brought it to us. My wife loved her tacos and I thought my steak tacos were okay. The price on the tacos are on the higher side of things but it's understandable because of the location. There indoor and outdoor seating here. They also have different kind of can soda or beers here as well. Customer service was great and we had a good time dining here.
Overall, decent tasting food and drink. Service was satisfactory. Pricing can be reasonably described as "premium". As can be clearly seen in photos, portion sizes are modest. Parking in the area can be tricky to obtain - I parked in the free underground garage on the east corner of 1st/Palm, and it was a short walk from there. Overall, this place "hit the spot", and I would consider returning if I was in the area and needed a quick and small bite.
We had never been to this location; it was great! We had a sampler, and every single one was delicious and flavorful, some of them just the perfect level of spice, others really nice unique flavors. It was a really nice bite to eat before we had some drinks. The service was prompt and friendly, perfectly awesome visit!
First time at this location. We parked at the mall. Short walk. Otherwise, the parking close by is metered. Not worth the hassle, driving around and then pay. My wife got the 6mini sampler and I ordered 3 tacos. Fish tacos Shrimp tacos Pork tacos Fairly pricey , however excellent quality. Note to self. Watch out on ones that are spicy. Spicy isn't a joke. I forget which one, but years ago I got a spicy taco - I believe level 6 of spicy (out of 10). And while I survived , not everyone would. Nor would I ever attempt again. New drink - strawberry horchata ! Very seen it ever. My wife loves strawberries, so she had to get it. Actually was impressed with the creativity. Also ordered bag of the premade horatcha. As of today, we haven't tried . Will update the review accordingly. Plenty of seating area. We are outside. Highly recommend going. Will return !
**December 2025: Sunday Afternoon Visit** My friend and I were shopping at Jackalope Art Fair in Downtown Burbank and needed a quick lunch between heading off to our next event. I saw Guisados and thought it looked very promising as it noted having homemade tortillas and really diverse fillings. Also they had a bathroom and after several hours of shopping I needed a place with a clean facility, which this did have. On our visit we each decided to try three different tacos and an Aqua Fresca. I chose a Cochinita Pibil (Shredded pork $4.25), Bistek Roja (Simmered Flank Steak. $4.25), and Hongos (Mushrooms $4.25) for my tacos, a Melon (Cantaloupe $3.25), and I decided to go for a elote tamale ($4.75). Patrons pay for their selection at the counter and have a worker will bring it out to you. There is a section near the counter where you can self-serve yourself water. There's two different dinning options you can dine inside the restaurant. I think there were maybe 8 -10 tables and outside with around the same amount though part of the area outside it shaded and the part closer to the street was very sunny. My friend and I were able to find a spot on the outside that was still shaded. The tacos arrived on a large circular tray and my tamale was put on a paper plate. Each taco while they did taste freshly made were kind of bland. The texture of the tortilla did work well with the different fillings, but I wasn't blown away with flavor. For me these tacos tasted toned down perhaps to appeal to a broader audience. I ate them all and the products did do their job in keeping me full but the star of the meal was my melon drink - which tasted very refreshing. The tamale was okay as well - kind of reminded me a corn pudding that you get at buffet restaurants. Overall, it's an okay experience.
The Guisados Sampler Plate is the perfect way to experience everything they do well. Six mini tacos, each with a distinct personality, and honestly--not a weak bite in the bunch. The lineup includes steak picado, mole poblano, chorizo, chicharrón, chuleta, and tinga de pollo, and every single one is packed with rich, comforting flavor. Standouts for me were the chicharrón, which is unbelievably creamy and melts in your mouth, and the mole poblano, with its beautifully balanced sweet heat that keeps you coming back for more. Each taco feels thoughtfully cooked and well-seasoned, making the sampler both fun and satisfying. If you're new to Guisados or just can't decide on one filling, this sampler is a no-brainer. It's flavorful, hearty, and a reminder of why Guisados is such a favorite
Wonderful service. I often visit here when I come into town. The mole and shrimp tacos are the best. Melon agua Fresca can't be beat. Tamales are also delicious. Great meal, great service. Parking can be iffy. Come early or not during peak meal times.
This was my first time at this restaurant and will definitely NOT be the last! On 5/31/26 at 5pm after the Jackalope Art Fair, I was very exhausted and hungry. Since it was so close to the Fair, I wanted to give this place a try. When I walked in, it was pretty crowded and had to wait in line for not more than 5 minutes. Christian greeted me and gave me a run down of their extensive menu options. He was nice, helpful and sweet. I went with Bistek en Salsa Roja ($4.50), came with flank steak braised with red bell peppers & tomato. The tiny burrito was wrapped in flour tortilla. Just the way that I like it. I also got a large Horchata($4.00), since there wasn't a big difference in the price between the regular size and large.Only by 75 cents. Didn't fill me up, went back and ordered their small 6 pieces of Taco Sampler.(12.50), not including tax for both of my meals. Got the original. Came with Steak Picado, Bistek Roja, Tinga Mole,Chicharron, & Cochinita Pibil. 3 of them had small pieces of Avocado which I love so much. John rang me up and he was also very sweet, kind, helpful with a nice smile. Food came out fast and quick. It was piping hot and the only minor complain that I have is they are all like bite sizes. Place was clean, had 2 gender neutral restrooms and since I was at the fair, I parked 2 blocks away from the restaurant. I don't know if they have parking or not. They also had a really nice patio and great music playing overhead..Can't wait to come back and try other of their menu options.
Guisados is delicious. Always make it a stop anytime I'm in so cal. :) Bring one up to Sacramento area please.
If you're looking for a quick bite, Guisados is a solid spot. They offer a variety of tacos, but if you're debating on which one to get, do yourself a favor and get the cochinita pibil. I also tried their steak picado and pescado. The steak is tender and flavorful, but the pescado was bland, I would pass on it. You order at the counter and food comes out to you within minutes.
I've gone to the guisados in Beverly Hills and loved it so when I was walking around after catching a movie and saw they had one in Burbank I was excited! I am pleased to say the quality and flavor is consistently delicious and I loved the cozy indoor eating area. They also have an outdoor eating area. Great place to stop by if you're walking around shopping in the area or catching a movie for a date. The service was fast although it wasn't busy to begin with so there was hardly a wait time before we received the freshly made tacos. Love the handmade flavor of the tortillas. As always our go to is mole poblano 10/10, steak picado 9/10, tinga 9/10, sweet desert tamale de elote 9/10. Everything else is good too but these are our top.
I was kind of in a rush, so I ordered small and enjoyed 2 Cochinita Pibil tacos from here. The service was good, and the cashier offered me a sample of the two types of pork tacos I was trying to decide between and that was a plus for ME. In MY experience, I would have to ask. The restaurant is small, yet suits its purpose well. I will undoubtedly visit again, probably in the near future.
Stopped in for breakfast. Burritos are 7.50. The cashier suggested tacos instead. I ordered a egg ta o and a chile relleno taco. Really wanted a chile relleno burrito but only came on tacos. I have been wanting to try this place for years and I finally did, was not disappointed whatsoever! The meats, tortilla, and sauces complemented each other all so well. The tortillas were amazing - held everything together so well. We got the jamaica drink as well I believe. Our worker was so helpful and welcoming - made sure to adjust spice levels to our liking, kind in general, etc. I cannot wait to come back again! read more

I have visited this restaurant many times and many years... I always have been a fan of spicy salsa... so when I dined with you guys I always eat them they way I like it. Today I had an out town guest we purchased 7 samplers and 2 tamales (8 plp)... I asked for lots of salsa. Edwards was pretty rude, unpleasant... he said he can only give 2 small container (which is not even filled al the way) ... max 14 little salsa. Otherwise he will charge me... I am VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED... I WILL STRONGLY ADVISE TO ALL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO SKIP THIS LOCATION. Is not worthed to treated so rudely in front my guests and they are coming from San Diego (town of Mexican food) which i had told them you were my fave. WELL NOT ANYMORE... THEY ARE PLENTY OF RESTAURANT TO GO TO to spend over $100 to fight about SALSA. Which i have to go find and get my own salsa. John... I was informed you are the manager... One of my favorite local taco spots in downtown Burbank. It's a small spot with indoor and outdoor seating and the menu isn't big. However, the flavors and quality is on point. I've been here numerous times and keep coming back because of the amazing flavors. They offer chicken, fish, pork and I believe beef tacos. I always get the shrimp, fish and chicken tacos and can attest to how amazing the flavors are. They are consistent with flavor and never disappoint. Price for 8 tacos with a drink comes out to about $42. So yes, it's more than what you might expect to pay but it's well worth it. read more

Absolutely delicious tacos! I love not only the fillings but also the tortillas. With a flight to catch, we had ordered while we were stuck in traffic on our way over. The order was fulfilled within 5-10 mins, while we were still in traffic. I was worried the tacos would get cold and soggy. Not to worry! I was pleasantly surprised that they had been keeping my order warm until we picked it up. All the tacos we ordered were quickly inhaled. So good! As others have mentioned, it's really awesome to be able to pick your own flavors with the samplers. The sampler tacos were tiny - 1-2 bites each - and perfect for sampling the flavors! read more

This is a fast casual sit down kind of place. I stopped by on my lunch break and got the tinga de pollo taco (chicken) and cochinita pibil taco (pork) with the high spicy spice level. Both tacos were good, but the cochinita one was my favorite. The spice level was great and meat was very juicy. I wouldn't call the tacos anything special but they are good. I'd definitely come back for the convenience. read more

We went during the Jackalope Market in Burbank and the crowds were crazy! But staff were still getting orders out in around 10 minutes. I liked 5 out of the 6 tacos on the sampler platter, but that's just personal preference. And now I know what to order for next time! There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and a few nearby public parking garages. It's also walking distance to the Burbank Towncenter Mall. read more
Never disappoints . I've been to the other locations but it's alway great to know that there is a restaurant here when I'm in the neighborhood. The restaurant is clean. The staff is friendly. The tacos here are some of the most impressive street tacos around. If you're looking to explore new flavors, try the sampler plate of 6! You can also order specialty tacos separately from this. Feeling super adventurous? Try their spiciest pepper taco that has a mixture of habanero, Serrano, and Thai hot peppers. Give your body about two days to recover from that one. You can wash that down with their amazing horchata, which is one of the best I've had. It's perfectly prepared to go as well (and if you've had that spicy taco, you'll probably want a couple horchatas). The place is super casual and has a very trendy vibe to it. Only note here is that the staff could have a better attitude. While the management seems fantastic, the woman at the register with us today seemed to be more focused on leaving her shift than taking our order (which, I get it, but maybe finish what you're doing first). read more

The entire team (Evan, Brian, Angel and the entire team) fired up the best tacos I've had in my life and I've been to a lot of places that claim to have the best, but can't back it up and Guisados lived up to it and then some. The ambiance was quaint and celebrated local artists and they featured a variety of specials that was hard to choose from so I stuck with seafood and all three (ceviche tacos, shrimp tacos and fish tacos) were a hit! Next time I'm back here, I'll be sure to stop here and check out the chicken and veggie options. I can't wait! Check them out and enjoy! read more
If you want juicy, tender, delicious tacos then Guisados is a must try. They have several locations throughout the LA area. It was my first time and I was impressed by their amazing food. We had an assortment of tacos and my favorites were the bistek roja and steak picado. They were filled with flavor and presented beautifully. Unless you're a fan of mole, I'd maybe skip it as the only flavor I really got out of it was peanut butter. The restaurant was clean, fairly quiet during lunch time on a Monday, and the cashier was friendly. read more

Quality tacos! The price point is higher than a taco stand/truck but you get a something a bit higher tier. Food comes pretty quick. Order at counter and can eat in fast casual style. Water and utensils are available. We got one each of steak, chorizo, fish, and chicharron. Everything but the chicharron was good; I forgot I ordered it before and it's the mushy style not crunchy, so buyer beware. read more
If you like tacos this is an awesome find in Downtown Burbank. Plenty of unique tacos running at just over $3.00 a piece, tamales, quesadillas and a few other treats. Service was very friendly. We ordered 4 different tacos and a couple of drinks. My favorite was the chicken Mole taco. Packed with flavor and a good amount of meat. Fish tacos was on point and both asada tacos were good. Outdoor and indoor seating which was perfect for my 4 legged pal. Parking is tight. There are a few nearby lots. If your lucky you will find street parking. read more

So happy I discovered this hidden gem in Burbank. I would've never guessed I could find amazing tacos in the entertainment capital of Los Angeles. Very good and very authentic. They have indoor and outdoor dining, and the menu is full of home cooked goodness. Since this was my first time, I was recommended to try the 6 taco sampler. I was able to try a nice assortment of tacos with different flavors. My favorites were the pulled pork with red onions, the chicken, and asada tacos. I was also recommended to try their sweet corn tamale. The tamale is made with sweet creamed corn and topped with a delicious creama sauce. Beyond my expectations, and I'm looking forward to returning. read more

Let me start by saying I've tried a few taco joints in my time and like most ethnic street foods, it's usually the beat up run down neighborhood taco stands that are the best. LA has no shortage of tacos that are great. So when I walked into Guisados in Burbank CA I was suspect because it is so clean, well appointed, and appealing to a more upscale multi-ethnic crowd like the one you find in downtown Burbank CA. They even had a nice little patio area that looked out onto the San Fernando Street strand. The first time I stopped in I did so with a few friend's I was in town on business with. Their menu is not too long but enough to have several choices and very straightforward with simply tacos and a few tamale choices on offer. On first visit I tried three tacos. The Chicharron, a seasoned deep fried pork rind braised in chile verde, the Mole Poblano, tender shredded chicken in a poblano-style mole sauce, and Cochinita Pibil, shredded pork braised ins achiote chile. I can't say enough about each of them. they were fantastic to say the least. Fresh handmade corn tortillas are the rage and each is a good sized taco that concentrated on the ingredients and filling. I mean these guys have brought excellent original tacos to the forefront. The fillings on each were exceptionally good seasoned with love. I did all three for like 11 bucks and change. Very decently priced. They definitely concentrate on doing what they do the best they know how. On my second visit I tried a sample platter in which includes six smaller bite-sized tacos which you still get about three good bite out of. You can pick your own or go with the house platter. I went with the house platter as i doubt you can go wrong with any taco these folks make. Unbelievable is all I can say. Every taco on the platter is a winner. So tasty and seasoned a few had a nice touch of chile heat but hot too much instead letting the filling speak for itself. I followed up with a homemade green chile and queso cheese tamale. Like their tacos the tamales were right on target. A very good sized and well filled delicious taco that was light and filled with wonderful flavor or as they say 'sabor'. All of this for just over 13 bucks. Where else you going to get this kind of quality for that kind of price? The service is exceptional as well and surprisingly quick. Very friendly and helpful bunch who say hello the minute you step up to the counter, know their menu and help you choose and walk your order out to you, even insisting that I leave the tray at the table and they will clean it up. A really great place that if you haven't tried you would be doing yourself a disservice if you missed out on this. read more

Guisados es legítimo! And with seven locations, you'd expect nothing but perfection! Located in Downtown Burbank blended in with a ton of small, local and familiar businesses this Mexican eatery is this modern taco place you didn't know you were missing out on with grilled veggies, fresh-made tortillas, and lots of TLC. Guisados offers a variety of Agua Frescas such as hibiscus iced tea, lemon-lime water, horchata cold brew y mas (and more)! Traditional taco via chorizo, chicharron, mole, and even nopales, essentially cacti. There's also elote, quesadillas and tamales... Leaving something for everyone. The vegan taco options are pretty fuego (though only a handful compared to the rest of the menu) with such simplicity yet flavor. The veggie medley is loaded with squash, tomato, corn, onions, mushrooms and salsa verde. The vegan peppers are done fajitas style with grilled green and red bell peppers plus pico, avocado y specialty salsa. Plenty of seating between outside and in, including shared seating along San Fernando Blvd between Magnolia Blvd and Palm Ave. AC inside is at the perfect temp for these warmer days plus the wait time is pretty short even when busy and they will bring your food to you whether takeout or dine-in. The prices are fair (I got three tacos for around 11 dollars not including my tip) and their service is a win for sure at el Guisados de la Burbank! read more

I wish they had a Guisados closer to me! One of my favorite places. I've ordered the shrimp tacos, veggie taco and quesadilla. Highly recommend. They feature an artist w artwork on their walls which I think is really cool and more places should do. Very clean, quick, friendly staff. Good vibes & delicious food. Good location next to plenty of shopping, entertainment & coffee places. read more

I haven't had guisados in years but I can tell you that even if it was a different location, it was still amazing. Again, went for the SAMPLE platter because it has it all! I also got the quesadilla with chorizo (extra charge) but this was underwhelming and sort of tasteless. The cheese was grilled and then put inside but tasted like mozzarella (not a lot of flavor). The tortilla was great, homemade. Expensive but they're gourmet tacos that have a very distinct flavor profile. Mexican food Elevated and I love it. Even the horchata was excellent! Got crowded pretty fast so grab a seat and wait for them to bring it out. read more

I'd already eaten (snacked?) at two other places for dinner but a friend challenged me to finish up with tacos. Having spent the prior weekend in Mexico taco'ing it up, I was both craving tacos but also wary of being disappointed with non Mexican tacos. However, I wasn't about to turn down a challenge and found Guisado's nearby. It turned out to be not a mistake as there was good food and great service. I chose the chuleta con chile verde as my single taco for the challenge. The tortillas are freshly made and grilled here and did not disappoint. The flavor of the taco was also great, maybe a little too saucy. However the meat was a little dry, but I suppose that's my fault for not choosing one of the braised meats. Next time, I'll come back with an empty stomach and go for the taco sampler. read more
