I entered it was a very nice guy Cesar that explained the entire menu and even brought me some salsa that was very tasty. I sat outside the music is playing at a very good volume. That's a great touch. The Papas burrito was delicious the potatoes we cooked to perfection as well as the eggs not too runny. Meh tacos. We had fish, shrimp, chicken tinga and chicken mole. The fish tacos while crunchy and covered in fresh slaw were strangely flavorless. The chicken mole and tinga tacos were filled with braised meat but lacked texture and flavor. I was craving some fresh pico de gallo or slaw on top of them to make them more interesting. The shrimp tacos were OK but were filled with grilled peppers which I didn't love. The highlight was the iced horchata with a shot of cold brew which is a genius combo. In the land of delicious and innovative tacos I would recommend going elsewhere for tacos. read more

I FELL in LOVE with GUISADOS-Venice! I had preciously seen a video about this establishment on Tik tok back in May and well I was finally able to try it. Upon arrival we were greeted by the staff. The space is a little small, but nonetheless that there's plenty of seating in the patio area by the parking lot. We took a couple minutes to look at the menu and the cashier was kind enough to explain to us how it all worked out . They have so many options! Our favorite was a sampler just because you can get a little of a taste of everything that they have on their menu with some exceptions. There agua frescas were delicious- we had cantaloupe-melon and hibiscus- Jamaica. They were perfectly balanced and so refreshing. Our tacos were outstanding those mini tacos took about two bites and they're so perfectly well balance each one within the sampler was perfect. My favorite one ended up being Cochinita Pibil just because it had the right amount of texture and spiciness to it, and then on top of that off pickled red onions. It was so much her favorite that I went back in order two regular tacos. Guisados it's nothing but a short walk from Venice Beach so you can easily go to the beach spend the day there and then when you're ready to go home pack up your stuff and then make your way over to guisados after dropping everything off. The establishment was nicely decorated. They do have access for restrooms however, you do have to make a purchase of at least the water or something so that you can use their restroom. They have a lot of cool quotes. A lot of art their establishment another recognitions. It was so clean and very fresh nothing too overwhelming, which is nice and appreciative. I know for a fact that every time I'm in Venice, so particularly at the beach, I will end my day here just to be able to have this again. It totally feels like home and it totally feels like grandma just made these dishes. Parking can be really tough in this area a little bit further down the street they do have public parking for about $20 but please note that it may get busy or it may sell out really fast. read more

Most Delicious tacos! If you're looking for an authentic taco experience, Guisados in Venice is the place to go! I tried the Chile Relleno and Chicharron tacos, and both were absolutely delicious. The Chile Relleno taco was cooked to perfection--crispy, flavorful, and just the right level of spice (on the milder side). Was visiting Venice and would always see Guisados whenever I strolled around the neighborhood. One afternoon around lunchtime I said, "Okay, I have to try this place." And am I glad I did! :-) Located on the corner of Pacific Avenue and North Venice Boulevard, the restaurant has a fairly large-sized covered outdoor patio, with lots of seating inside. You order at the counter by making an immediate left when entering. They have all kinds of interesting open-faced tacos. I got a Steak Picado, Tingo De Pollo, and Pescado, along with a large drink to wash everything down. DELISH! Absolutely wonderful and I was perfectly satisfied afterwards. This is a place I will definitely revisit so I can eat my way through their menu. read more

I want to say the vibe was a little off but, it could have just been me. I ordered a papas breakfast burrito. It's a very simple burrito. Eggs, potatoes and cheese. Not too bad. You can't mess up something so simple. The potatoes could have been cooked a little longer, too hard for me. I didn't come across any cheese. Maybe they put a dash of cheese lol. The size of the burrito was limited aka just enough. You can go to a street vendor and get more bang and flavor for your buck. The one on Venice near centinela is pretty decent. Good little tacos. Excellent house made corn tortillas. As is their style the interior of the restaurant is bright and clean, minimalist. I have been meaning to grab some tacos since they opened in the neighborhood. For the first time at a Guisado's, I ordered tacos to go. I have been to other locations and always eat in. They did not travel well and I am right up the street. The tacos are quite saucy, which is tasty but does not make for the best to go meal. I loved the chile relleno taco, really nice and actually traveled the best. The fish is always one of my favorites but by the time I made the drive home, it was a mess. I have to remember I don't love the chicken tinga, but just a personal texture preference. They have a small patio out front and indoor seating, so will be ordering to stay when I return. read more

Personality Plus: Cesar was so welcoming & conversation flowed easily! He also checked on us several times! When he told us about the other locations, I was happy to let him know that I've been to several and enjoyed every single one in Beverly Hills, Downtown LA & Boyle Heights! Seating & Parking: Plenty of seating inside as well as outside! There are couple of parking spots in front of the restaurant! Be sure to read the signs when parking elsewhere along the street! The newest Guisado's! Food - The house made corn tortillas are the star. The texture is great and the quality is notable. My favorite tacos are the mole poblano for a meat option and the hongos con cilantro for a vegetarian option. While I enjoy the tacos, I do think it's a really small portion. Drinks - The agua frescas are generally great at Guisados. I like the horchata; this time I got the Jamaica. And they only serve soft drinks here. Location - This location is newer so it seems they're still working things out. There was no AC which I thought was odd; maybe it's temporary? The restroom was out of service as well. The parking lot just fits two cars and it's a shared lot. There's indoor and outdoor seating here. read more

Guisados makes some of my favorite tacos in Los Angeles. And not only do they make some of my favorite tacos, but they make their own tortillas fresh to order, which really makes the tacos that much better. And now I can get these amazing tacos on fresh tortillas when I'm at the beach!? Awesome! I'm so excited that they have opened this Venice location. I stumbled onto Guisados years ago when they were only in Boyle Heights. It's amazing to witness their continued success and expansion. This new location is providing the same great tacos I've enjoyed many times at their other locations. The service was very friendly and helpful. We sat at a table outside and enjoyed some tacos. It looked like there was an indoor dining area that wasn't open while we were there, but it was a nice day, so we wanted to eat outside anyway. Service was excellent and super friendly- even right before they closed, the tacos I tried were delish - guiso and carnitas - tortillas were banging, as well as the seasonal pumpkin horchata was also pretty yummy so we purchased their homemade horchata mix to go! LOVE LOVE Guisados!!! I usually drive to the one in Beverly Hills or if I'm in Burbank it's a must as well. I was super happy when I found out they finally had great tacos closer. Sadly there is one reason why I only gave 4 stars. I usually get their bean and shrimp tacos (separate tacos). Not sure why there seems to 'look' like there is water/condensation all around the beans/whatever is put inside the tacos. Not sure if it's from the spoons left in water or whatnot but it makes my stomach turn looking at the old milk like wetness. I've tried this location over 6x hoping it was just something odd those few days. Regardless, if you are not a visual person like myself this chain is a must to try. I would say try other locations as well so you can see the true taste/presentation as well! I'll post a pic if I can next time. read more
