I'll admit I was not sober. However, I was far from drunk. My taste buds demanded payback for the cheap beer I had earlier in the evening. Luckily, the little cart that could, Gyro Express, was ready to serve. We rolled up a bit after 1 am to a nearly line free Gyro Express. My brother and I both ordered beef gyro's with everything. I got mine within what seemed like minutes and my brother's followed shortly. For less than $10 each, the portion was spot on. The taste, no I won't claim it was the best ever, but some amazing late night food for sure. The staff extremely friendly - especially while I can claim I wasn't drunk, I'm not sure I can say the same for the rest of my somewhat loud crew. A solid review was the least I could do to repay them!

I always say "street food" or food trucks are THE BEST type of food and I was so right with this little mini gyro stand ! Went to Austin this past weekend and had been wanting to try some of the food on sixth and this was one of the places I stopped at and I will for sure be coming back! I seriously can't believe how tiny the little RV thing is and how fast and good the food comes out ! Once 2:00 hits on sixth there's literally a line to get this food, and now I understand why. I bought a beef gyro and it was worth it !!! My picture doesn't do it justice . Will be coming back !

It's a small lil shack that makes super tasty gyro's for $7. The lady who works it, if not there is probably smoking a cig on the corner. Get her attention and she will come right over. Afterwards order your Gyro you can ask for the works, or don't ask for it. I'm pretty sure its the same. If you're super hungry you can take out one by yourself. If you just want to get some fuel in the tank before some drinking, you can early share this amongst two people. Make sure you get napkins because it will get messy. The gyro was great, the meat was juicy and not dry. The wrap part of the gyro was soft and yummy. The insides of gyro, (I'm not sure what its made out besides meat and veggies?) tasted pretty good. I'm sure after a few drinks this tastes AMAZING but I had it sober so I'll give it 4 stars.

The gyro was delicious!! The meat was cooked perfectly and it wasn't drenched in the sauce. Took a picture of my BF in front of their cart and later I noticed the cook photobombed the pic!

I would fight to the Death for one of these Gyros! No joke, it's the real deal. The gyro lady Knows her meat!! Tasty and Delicious...& no I'm not just saying that cuz it was 2 a.m. when I ate one!! For $7.00 she Loads that Sucker Up!!

The food wasn't bad, it's just a pity that the personnel (the girl that works there) steals from their customers. Be careful when you pay there; they will add random custom amounts of $90+ on your receipt and you'll never see it, because they don't hand over the device (Square device on their iPhone) for signing and additional tip until after they entered the amount. They will tell your disputing bank that they have $90 sandwiches on the menu and that the charge is valid. On top of that; you paid a tip % on worlds most expensive gyro.

The chicken shawarma is bomb dot com. I have been in Austin , Texas for one week and I have literally eaten here every other day. The food comes out piping hot and extremely flavorful. This place a two block walk from the HILTON and they open from 5pm til 3am.

As a recipient of the prestigious Texas Monthly Top 100 BBQ Award, the expectations were high--and for the most part, they were met. The venue itself provides a fantastic, relaxed vibe, complete with plenty of TVs and a music stage, making it the perfect spot for chilling out on a lazy afternoon or settling in for an evening hang. The Main Event: Pitmaster Excellence The true test of a Texas BBQ joint is the holy trinity, and here, they nailed the fundamentals: * Brisket: This was Texas BBQ as it should be. The brisket was super juicy, delivered a profound, deep flavor, and possessed a flawless, great bark that spoke to hours of skillful smoking * Spare Ribs: A study in contrast and texture. The ribs offered a satisfying "good pull"--firm enough to bite but still falling cleanly off the bone. The thick, peppery bark was beautifully balanced by a slight sweetness from a pepper jelly glaze, adding a layer of sophisticated flavor you don't always find. * Pork Belly Burnt Ends: These were pure decadence. Each bite provided a delicious, melt-in-your-mouth experience with a distinct and welcome hint of Fierce Whiskers bourbon woven into the smoky, fatty flavor. They are so rich and irresistible, you know you shouldn't eat too many, but good luck stopping. * Jalapeño and Cheese Sausage: This locally sourced link brought the heat with a good level of spice. The flavor was excellent, though the texture leaned slightly toward the processed side, which was the only minor drawback among the meats. The Supporting Cast: Sides A great plate of BBQ requires sides that stand up to the meat, and while two of these were stars, one needs a little work. * Mac & Cheese: An absolute winner. It was cheesy, creamy, and featured an excellent smoked flavor that permeated the dish. The slightly charred edges added a delightful textural counterpoint. * Hash Brown Casserole: This was a surprisingly strong contender, offering a nice assembly of savory flavors. The secret weapon was the corn flake topping, providing an unexpected but welcome crunch, complemented by a satisfying hint of bacon. * Creamed Corn: Unfortunately, this side was the weakest link. It tasted primarily bland, despite a slight peppery note. It desperately needs some fresh jalapeños mixed in to cut through the creaminess and add the essential Texas kick. Final Verdict The meat selection here is truly Top 100 worthy, excelling in technique, flavor, and execution (especially the Brisket and Burnt Ends). The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed gathering. While the Creamed Corn missed the mark, the stellar Hash Brown Casserole and Smoked Mac & Cheese prove that their side game is usually strong. Come for the high-quality, authentic Texas barbecue, stay for the great outdoor patio.

The beef was so tender and juicy that it really did melt in our mouths. The bun was soft and fresh and held the sandwich together well.

I've never seen it move - so I assume it's called this place home for quite awhile. The truck has a tented seating area where you can enjoy all the delicious goodies. Tacos are less than $2 and they are adorned with cilantro, onion, and a lime wedge -- that's how you dress a real taco! The corn tortillas are homemade and just the right thickness. The carnitas is flavorful and full of crispy bits. The barbacoa is not the best I've had, but I'm not complaining. They also have tortas, gorditas, sopes, and refreshing aguas frescas (big azz cup for $2.50!) to wash everything down. They also have two salsas: a spicy red sauce and a cilantro/avocado cream. Both do the tacos justice. Tip: You might want to brush up on your Espanol when you come here.
