Oh my, yum-ness! I happened by this local little gem today for lunch. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the food was fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions. I ordered the kibbeh appetizer and Chicken Koobideh entree that came with a choice of soup or salad. I chose the lentil soup, and it did not disappoint! The kibbeh was hot and fresh. My entree was perfectly seasoned and cooked to a moist perfection. The portions were definitely enough for two people, and I took the rest home. I can't wait to enjoy it tomorrow! I don't know if this will replace my original review but it's good to have both for contrast. I first came here 5 months ago when they just opened. Before COVID this spot was a Mediterranean flat bread restaurant. I was curious if it was still here after so many years. To my surprise it was going to be a new Persian restaurant. I love Mediterranean food. I would eat it all day if I could afford it. I can also make it myself at home either on a grill or stove top. In this region most of the kinds of kabobs are Kafta style with is more Arabic or Lebanese style kabobs. Those are ok to good, but I grew up on Armenian or Persian or Iranian style kabobs that go by the name of Koobideh or Lule kabobs. I grew up in the LA and Glendale area where Massis was the go to. I initially gave this place a 4/5 only because that night must have been an off night or early growing pains. But I had high hopes that it would only get better. I've been here maybe 4 or 5 times since. I teach at Chaffey and so it's my light at the end of the tunnel of a 4 hour class. I let them out a bit early every couple of weeks so I can get a plate before they close. :-) Without a doubt this is the best kabob restaurant within 30 miles of here. Believe me, I've tried them all in the region. The closest is Panini Grill but they don't have garlic sauce. I'm going to try to convince them to give a Chaffey College discount for staff and students. I think a small discount or a special for them if they show their ID would keep this place buzzing all day. It's the best food around the campus area. The other places are just fast food or mediocre. This place is close to 5/5 and that is 100% accurate in my view. I had a nice chat with the owner and the family. Great family business. I wish them great success! Great little restaurant! Authentic Persian food with huge portions. This place was packed with customers dining in and we watched many to-go orders being picked up at the same time. The woman working the counter handled the customers with ease, all while packaging the to-go orders and working the cash register same time. They don't offer free water. Especially in an arid zone it's common courtesy to provide non-bottled water. Service was fine but I didn't really enjoy the food. The fries were underdone (they were cooked but soft inside and not crunchy outside) and the wrap itself was not flavorful and there weren't many veggies. The hummus was good though. Overall I had high hopes as I hadn't had Persian food in years. I think if the food were spiced more and the fries double fried or given a seasoning salt it would improve my rating. read more

If your grandmother took time and love to prepare you a meal-- this is what you are getting. Wholesome, high quality and well prepared Persian cuisine. The Chicken (white meat) wrap was juicy, tender, and very flavorful. The dark meat option is also available. There is a tangy dressing that is on it that elevates the wrap. The crispy and spiced pastry, embedded with crushed pistachios, is also made in house, as are their dressings. This is a pleasant surprise. Habibi Kabob has exceeded are expectations. We are lucky to order online from their website. We witnessed party platters being picked up. For a new restaurant, they have so much to offer and are doing it exceptionally well! With limited options on for food on Christmas Day and Open Table assuring my friend and I that we had a reservation at a Mexican restaurant that day, we were initially disappointed when we pulled up and the place was closed for Christmas. It turned out to be a very silver-lining because we stumbled upon this gem of a place instead. My friend, who grew up in Turkey found it for us and she is very particular about her Mediterranean food! We were warmly greeted by the woman at the counter, I think her name was Suzanne, and I apologize if this is wrong. She allowed us time to browse the menu and made recommendations when we asked. One recommendation was the spicy garlic potatoes.I was excited because they had so many options for me, a vegan. To begin with, we ordered the hummus, grape leaves and spicy garlic potatoes. All were delicious but the potatoes were a stand out because they were new to us. They were very flavorful with garlic and Serrano peppers and came with a tasty yellow sauce to dip if we wanted too. I would highly recommend them if you like spice. They were not so spicy you had to drink continuously, just flavorful with a kick. For our main dishes, my friend ordered the Beef Koobideh with lentil soup and I ordered their Veggie Plate, also with lentil soup. The soup was not as we expected, it was creamy, not with intact lentils, but hit the spot. Sometimes unexpected items are amazing and this soup was! My friend was very pleased with the flavor of her meat and my veggie plate was abundant with its grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, zucchini, broccoli, carrots and onions with rice. The veggies were so vibrant in color and they did not skimp on portions like many places do. My friend got the Kibbeh to go but since she didn't eat it yet, I cannot review that. The portions were plentiful so neither of us finished anything we bought, making us excited to eat our leftovers later in the day. I also had their baklava, which was very tasty and not overly sweet which I loved. The staff were kind, they clearly had people who were regulars and others who stopped in due to limited dining options that day and were pleased with what they ate. Finally, I know it's an odd thing to review, but their chairs were super comfortable. They were nice enough to be in a living room not a restaurant, but they made dining leisurely very comfortable.
