Our first time trying Haiku and we were pleased: attentive service, a good sushi dinner, and special roll selection. Even my garden salad - ordered separately - was fresh, generous portion with the right amount of dressing. My favorite place in town to have lunch. The sushi is delicious and inexpensive. Nice that they also have a lot of Chinese and South-East Asian choices on the menu. Only downer is that with the Fresh Fields market that just opened, parking is getting a bit difficult. read more

I think I like this location better than our usual haunt in mamaroneck. It's a lot less crowded and a welcome lunch spot in a geographic area that doesn't offer much. Gorgeous environment, really efficient and welcoming staff, and wonderful food. Highly recommend just about everything. I only wish they didn't run out of brown rice so often! read more

I was alone for a change on football Sunday and wanted a good meal in a nice place - not a loud sports bar. I sat at the bar and watched several groups and couples come into the dinning room area - away from the bar. Emily put on the game I was interested in, was very attentive but not pushy. The food was okay but my food order was 25.56 and i got a deliverary so i gave them 26 dollars and they have the nerve to ask me for tip? they wouldn't leave until they got their tip. I went Thanksgiving eve to the new Haiku in Scarsdale looking forward to spending time with my children and husband. My daughter was home from college and we always love to go for sushi as it is a favorite of my family*s.. I had been looking forward to a new Haiku in our neighborhood. However, the manager and hostess could not have been more rude or unprofessional. As we were told when we walked in ( they do not take reservations) the wait would be 20 minutes. We had a drink at the bar and after 40 minutes went to check on our reservation. They said we would be next. Another 15 minutes past and I went to the manager and mentioned that most places would apologize and at the very least, offer us a drink. The bartender was very nice and sympathized with us and gave us someone else's lettuce-wraps they they forgot to take in their take-out. The manager could not have been more rude. He told me I was only looking for a free drink! The hostess's were in la-la land. Once we sat down I could not say enough about how good the food was or how nice the waiter was. There are plenty of other sushi places to go to in lower Westchester where one can be treated nicely! read more

1st time we've eaten in Haiku, Eastchester-food was decent-very salty though. But, the only reason I am writing this review is we had something happen to us that has never occurred in all the years we've been eating out. After paying our check & still having a wonderful conversation with our friends, a young gentleman came over & shook our friend's hand, thanking us for coming. We didn't need a more blatant nudge to tell us to leave. It was the shortest dining experience we ever had(&the rudest!). We will not be back. Went with 5 girls for a night out. The no resrvations policy stinks they want you to wait till everyone there and you can't sit or order appetizers. Once seated we asked for tea, the waiter said that because it was late all the tea pots where already washed out for the night, it was 9pm and the restaurant was packed. when the food finally came we asked for extra ginger to get a reply from the waiter that he only has two hands, rude beyond belief. We asked for additional naruta rolls, they brought us odd ends of peices. prices are aweful and food nothing to rave about. in a town full of very decent sushi places, this one does not deserve a visit. read more

I'm an american who worked for Haiku a couple years ago for several years and as I read these reviews it's as though people cannot theorize how much stress is put on the waiters and hostess during the busy hours of lunch and dinner. I know it can be exasperating to wait for a table but they truly are doing their very best to accommodate and serve all who order from their restaurant. The workers are really sweet people and I've never had better bosses. Retrospectively there were a couple of times I feel like I was a little rude to a customer but I was under so much pressure from all the customers and just trying to give everyone what they wanted in a timely manner! Please be a little forgiving! If you've ever been a waiter or worked in the food service industry you must know it can be difficult at times. read more

Good selection of dishes fresh food and late lunch menu. They offer the lunch specials until 3:30, even on weekends unlike most of the other options in Westchester. This is by far the best option for a cheap lunch and also a good option for dinner. Service is good and sushi is acceptable. Sushi rice here is NOT gluten free! The vinegar they use to make the rice sticky has wheat in it. The higher end sushi restaurants don't use this type of vinegar. They use a little sugar to get the sticky consistency. I was told it was GF at the Bronxville Haiku, ate, and got sick as a dog that night. read more

Solid place, good food. The downside is definitely the small space, so when it's busy, there is a long wait. But service is pretty fast, and as long as the customers don't yap too much, they turn the tables quickly. The waitstaff has always been very friendly and polite. The food is pretty standard Asian fare, tasty with good sized portions. The sushi is also standard (it's busy so you know they're using up their fish!). Menu has lots to choose from. Sushi is good but it seems overpriced. They charge for very small substitutions that shouldn't cost them anymore, like salmon in something instead of tuna. Pad Thai isn't great. It would be nice if they offered salad AND soup with lunch instead of just one or the other. read more

I have never been disappointed when I come to Haiku. Service is always great! On weekends get there early because they do not take reservations. I recommend getting the Szechuan Crispy Shredded Dried Beef. This not something I would normally order but I LOVE it! Also I recommend the pork fried dumplings which are to die for. I ordered two sesame chicken lunch specials. My office is in walking distance to the establishment. the specials I ordered come with white rice and soup or salad. I asked for 2 specials with 2 white rices and a salad and a soup. when receiving my food I only had $1.50 extra on me to give to the delivery man. mind you, I CAN WALK THERE AND BACK TO MY OFFICE WITHIN 10MIN (Less then a half a mile away) when the delivery man saw I only left him $1.50 he was rude and responded with "that's it? only $1.50?". As a delivery person you should NEVER question the amount of money a person gives you, that is just RUDE! also I open my bag & they forgot to give me the second rice. I called back for them to bring me the rice and they said they did want to delivery it and they asked me if they could give me a credit for next time. THERE WILL NOT BE A NEXT TIME!!!
