Beef short ribs soup is so salty. I like to keep my diet sodium balanced, but this one contains too much of it that I do not get this one after trying it once. 06/09/20 i went here for take out . everything is the same but most os menus are increased price.galbitang is over $17 include tax. mostpeople had hard time coz of covid 19 nowadays. In k-town,many restaurants give some discounts for take out but here,they increased price instead. even hanyang is expensive than other restaurants. quality is the same,banchan is the same,the amount of food is the same. Great food! We ordered the (Yuk-Gae-Jang) and (Don-Katsu) and they were both phenomenal! The Yuk-Gae-Jang was so delicious and the perfect level of spice. The Don-Katsu was a very large portion size, and was very delicious, especially with the slaw on the side and the dipping sauce. They brought various Korean side dishes beforehand including pickled radishes, kimchi, etc. all of which were great! I would highly recommend. read more

The best galbi tang in OC! The broth is very flavorful and the meat just falls off the bone. They give you a big portion of meat, good enough to share. The staffs are very friendly and welcoming everytime we come. I recommend coming on off hour like around 2-5pm on week days to avoid the line. read more

I love love Korean food and have been to all Korean restaurants (that serve food not drinking food) located in OC and a bit beyond that. This place is the best for galbitang, japchae, cold noodles, and bibimbap. Hands down and I bow to those dishes. You know the place is good when most of customers are Korean families. read more

Kalbi Tang is SUPERB!!! Meat is very very tasty not flaky and not hard to chew but perfectly cooked where all texture maintained. Juicy and just simply aaaamazing! I could not resist and went there once a week for a month about 2 months ago. Even after my hype has died down, I still go there once a month, and sometimes order to-go. I've always wanted to try their other food but always failed to do so since their kalbi tang is just TOO GOOD. I definitely recommend this place for a casual dinner or lunch with family or a small group of friends. Don't think it'll be a good idea to bring a large group of 6 or more because it more of a toned down and casual environment, and it could get a little loud/annoying for surrounding tables. But it is one of the better standard "Sulungtang restaurants" in Orange C. I tried their Sul-lung tang (with brisket) and it was pretty okay. The broth was thick and rich in taste. However, they did give a minimal serving of noodles, which was pretty disappointing. They're apparently known for this soup, but i think they have other more notable dishes to be known for, because it wasn't outstanding or something to get really excited about-- like their Don-kat su. I definitely RECOMMEND try their Don-kat su. My friend had it and it was so so good! It's a really big serving, could feed but won't fill two people, its crispy, juicy, and tender! Personally, I feel like it's better than the Donkatsu at Yoko in Buena Park, who are known for their Udon and Donkatsu. If you come please, please, try their Don-kat su! I had the Sul Long Tang with flank steak, which was delicious. It does not come seasoned but I was told how I was supposed to eat it since it is an aquired taste dish and it was my first time having it. Which brings me to the next part. The service we recieved was great. The waitresses kept tending to us, asking if we wanted anything more, and we were never out of side dishes... If you are not Korean or have never had korean food give it a try, but know that, depending on what food(s) you are used to eating, Korean food has a unique flavor. It combines salty, sweet, spicy, and nutty in such a unique way (of course this doesn't mean that all their dishes have these flavor profiles. The flavors, like any other culture, are many). I got fool believe in this one. Keep it short, there was waiting even in 9pm. Their speciality in beef bone soup. So this i why most of us order in the group together with the spicy octopus bibimbap. The soup is good but is clearly as not as those in Ktown. As for the bibimbap, wasn't good. It doesn't taste like boiling hot bibimbap that usually is the case. Not a good restaurant. No service. I found a knat fly in my seollangtang and they didn't do anything about. They just gave me another sellongtang. No apology, no nothing. My best friend happened to be in Orange County this past weekend so we decided to meet up at Han Yang to have breakfast/lunch together! It was around 10:30am when we came and I was surprised by how early they open considering the dishes they serve are all lunch/dinner dishes! But I love having hot soup for breakfast! There were many people already when it was before lunch time. I'm sure it's very popular! We ordered #1 and #2 and a fried pork chop and they were all very tasty! It came in good portion and the meat was given generously too! The rice is also good! I love their dip for the meat, I think there's wasabi in there and it's delicious!!! We got so much food I ended up having to take them to go! But I enjoyed it later on that day! Will recommend to people and will definitely come back! read more

I was shocked how good soup can taste! I got the galbitang and it was ridiculously flavorful and good! I was never that into Korean food and didn't think there would be amazingly good Korean food, but my boyfriend insisted this place will blow my mind. And sure it did, my mind was blown. I realize that Han Yang is well known for their Kalbi Tang (beef rib soup). I understand that I should probably order what the restaurant is well known for especially if it's a part of the restaurant's name. But you know what? I'm not a fan of kalbitang (unless it's my mother's) and if a restaurant is going to boast such a high rating, everything should be delicious. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case for us but Hang Yang clearly isn't hurting for business because the line was pretty long even though it was way over peak dinner hours. We ordered the Yukaejang (spicy beef and vegetables soup) and their Bulgogi Dolsot Bibimbap. One thing to note here is that Han Yang doesn't serve a wide variety of banchan like most Korean restaurants. Their specialty is their tang and they serve up different types of kimchi which is what is most traditionally served up with tang. But to be fair, their kimchi is absolutely delicious. Anyways their Yukaejang was pleasantly good. It was hot, spicy, and they were pretty generous with the amount of vegetables and beef in my soup. I enjoyed it a lot. Their Bulgogi Dolsot on the other hand while impressive looking fell a little short for me. It came with the usual vegetables but it just wasn't enough. The rice to meat to vegetables ratio was way off. But if you're more of a meat lover I'm sure you'll be happy since they were very generous with the beef. But I also found the beef to be on the sweet side so it wasn't all that enjoyable for me. A shame since I really love dolsot bibimbap. As far as Korean restaurants go, I think I'll pass on Han Yang. While it wasn't bad, it wasn't all that great to me neither. I might come by again if I'm in the area but nothing I would drive out of my way for. It's weird: I spent 50% of my time in LA in Korea-town but ended up finding the best bang for my buck all the way out in Buena Park. The donkatsu is over half an inch thick and bigger than my face (I have a huge face). The galbi-tang contains legit pieces of galbi that will fill even a grown man, like myself, up. And it's only 10 dollars. I don't understand how this place can stay in business. Either that or every other place I've ever been is just a complete rip off. And it's not just the quantity of the food, it's the quality. The aforementioned donkatsu is tender on the inside and just crispy enough on the outside to balance the textures (random note: I hear they use crushed up corn flakes for the breading which allows it to stay crispier. Or I just made that up in my head). The galbi-tang has so much flavor that you won't need the salt or pepper on the side. If you happen to be taking a visit to Knott's Berry Farm (I didn't realize it was a person named Knott's berry farm and not a type of berry, like knottsberry, until this visit), this is a perfect place to go for an affordable and delicious lunch. read more

I got the galbitang and ben got the dolpan bibim bahp. and we also got an order of katsu. servers are so sweet! they moved us to a larger table cuz we are disgusting and ordered so much food. the galbitang was delicious and the meat didn't have any gross fat stuck on it. ben cleared all the kimchi and the katsu was so damn delicious and the sauce superb! will be back again and again and again read more

This joint is on my comfort food rotation list. The Ox Knee Bone Soup is AMAZING. The bone broth is cooked so long, the soup is white and thick. Add a bit of salt, green onions and rice, you got soup heaven in your mouth. The Bimbimbap and tonkatsu is also very good but the soups are standouts. I can't say service is great here though. Came here with a friend and I ordered the bulgogi dol sot bibim bap. It was super good and you get a lot! They don't have a lot of side dishes, but everything was good. I just didn't like how there were flies around where we were sitting. I kept having to shoo it away. Han Yang serves mostly Korean soups with a beef broth base. It is one of the few Korean restaurants in the Orange county area that is consistently excellent in taste. Three of their main items are: 1. Sul-lung-tang, beef broth with clear noodles and choice of meats (season with salt, chili peppers and green onions to taste), 2. Galbi-tang, beef broth with short ribs (season to taste) served with a dipping sauce for the rib (mainly soy sauce marinated radish with bit of mustard), 3. Yuk-gae-jang, a spicy beef broth with clear noodles, vegetables and pan fried mixture of eggs and green onions that is placed on top of the soup just prior to serving. All the soups are served with a side of white rice. Their kimchee is homemade and it is good. It's often requested for purchase so; they now sell it to go if you want to purchase it. There are other items on the menu: Octopus mixed fried rice (hot stone pot), jaapchae (pan fried noodles and vegetables), cold noodle, spicy noodle, soybean noodle, etc. Some items are seasonal. They have their own parking lot but, it can get crowded for lunch and dinner. Most tables seat four. But, they can join tables to accommodate larger groups. Just be prepared to wait if you come during peak hours with a big group. read more
