Save this spot for your next sushi date! Hanabi is serving up high-quality, fresh fish on the daily. From omakase to chirashi bowls to special rolls, Hanabi's got you covered for all your sushi cravings. Highly recommend ordering one of their omakase sets or Hanabi bowls so that you can try different types of fish

This restaurant exceeded my expectations. Two people referred us to eat here and I'm glad we listened! The spicy tuna crispy rice was probably the best that I've ever had! The miso soup warmed the my soul. The fish was very fresh in all of the sushi that we ordered. This place is a 10/10 be sure to check it out!

This place was good, unique, and kind of a hole in the wall. Despite so many places being booked out for valentine's day, we went here and there was no wait! The restaurant was practically empty, although I'm not too sure why. I forgot the names of the rolls we got but the rolls did not have rice, which is different, and part of me definitely does wish their was rice, but we enjoyed in nonetheless. The salmon wrapped up some spicy tuna, and then was drizzled in a sauce. There was definitely NO lack of flavor! And it was fresh. The sashimi came with a lot of pieces, and it was fresh and yummy. The price point wasn't bad for sushi, so I would definitely come back here!

I'm surprised this place isn't more packed as the food here is really good! One of the rolls we got was the spicy tataki & it was actually kind of spicy (coming from someone who likes spice) Their miso glaze roll was also amazing!! The waiter we had was super nice! She was checking in on us & making sure we were having a good night! I will be defs coming back!

Looking for sushi and was fooled by the yelp ratings here. I knew something was wrong when the entire restaurant was empty besides one party at the bar. Asked the waitress and she says everything was good which was doubtful. I think this is a fusion sushi restaurant. The Hawaiian roll was meh weird ponzu sauce would definitely not recommend. The chirashi bowl was a bit overpriced for the portion and quality. The uni didn't seem fresh and the scallop was bland. The restaurant is dark and quiet the restroom smelled like moth balls which needs attention. For a sushi restaurant in LA I would have expected more. Hanabi Sushi is a no for me.

TRULY SOME OF THE BEST SUSHI IN LA!!!! I was amazed when everything came out beautiful, fresh, tasty, creative, and utterly perfect. This place is a gem and I look forward to going back. Definitely the prices are appropriate for the quality of fish and level of food/service/ambiance they provide here. Everything was fantastic. They should be very proud of their restaurant! I know I would be. Well done, Hanabi Sushi! I will definitely be coming back and often!

Very worth it sushi in LA! Fish tasted very fresh. I got a bunch of hand rolls and nigiris (rankings below). All tasted very fresh for decent price - around $50 per person. I will definitely be coming back! - Otoro nigiri - Blue fin tuna nigiri - Spicy salmon hand roll - Salmon belly nigiri - Blue crab hand roll Most unique: miso glazed salmon roll with truffle!

Based on the reviews of this place I was really hoping it would become my next sushi spot. Unfortunately the quality of fish did not live up to the reviews. Some of the pieces were very tasty and practically melted in my mouth but over half of the sushi was chewy and didn't taste fresh. Also, while I appreciate the different sauces the chefs put on the fish, sometimes they didn't always pair well. Hanabi is an unassuming spot located in a strip mall that has parking. There are only about 3-4 people working, 2 of them being sushi chefs. We had to wait 15 minutes to get the bill, pay, and there was an item on there that we didn't receive. The staff was extremely friendly they were just busy. Also asked if it was possible to have items be made gluten free (without soy sauce) due to an allergy and there was confusion around what gluten free meant.

Delicious but I wouldn't go back!! Just for being rude

They definitely add to the experience and make you feel comfortable asking questions or getting recommendations. Drinks: Fun and refreshing. Joshikai: Refreshing and on the sweeter side, but really good. If you like the mug and decide to take it home, there is a $150 fee. Food: Fun Japanese fusion. Lots of creative dishes and flavor combinations, with familiar Japanese dishes given a fun twist. I recommend: Spicy Tuna Hand Rolls: Comes in a bowl with rice on the bottom and seaweed paper on the side so you can make your own hand rolls. Fun way to eat it and you can make each bite as big or small as you want. Yakisoba: These noodles are really well seasoned from the sauce and wagyu. Lots of flavor and definitely something I recommend. Negima: Chicken skewers that come with a sweet and savory sauce. The sauce adds a really nice flavor to the chicken and makes this an easy one to order. Soft serve: must try Their homemade ice cream is delicious and captures the essence of the strawberry flavor. It was packed with so much flavor and the aji verde sauce paired well with it. The bread was so fluffy. Spicy Tuna Handrolls - Fresh ingredients, and you're gonna have to hand roll these yourself! I would have much rather preferred they come rolled already. Maitake & Arugula Salad - Super refreshing salad and added a great balance to our meal. Charred Japanese Sweet Potato - OMG I loveeeeed these sweet potatoes! Who would have that chives paired so well with it? Scallop Crudo - We really enjoyed this dish A LOT. The cilantro vinaigrette paired with slices of pear gave this dish such a refreshing taste. I'd definitely order this again Tokyo Banana Soft Serve - A big portion to share and tasted just like the actual Tokyo Banana from Japan. Overall, a great place and I definitely recommend. Enjoy!

Very good quality (from the crisp of the batter to the tenderness). Although as a soft shell crab geek, I didn't enjoy the new addition of this on the menu (sorry) maybe it was the hint of spice that I didn't expect or the thick sauce instead of classic ponzu/kanopy alternative? Service can be a little iffy and I can't quite describe that's a disconnect to the Japanese or East LA culture but Ryan is awesome and saves the day with his chill laid back approachable but quitetly confident taishō swagger. There were some standout dishes that I'm still thinking of, let's get to that! Shaki Shaki Salad - 4 stars. This was a fresh and tasty cabbage salad. I personally think a different texture element would have added to this, like crushed peanuts or something, but did enjoy this. Spring Onion Tempura - 5+ stars. Delicious! Tasted like onion rings, but with a lighter texture. Bonus tip, request the bbq sauce like dipping sauce, it creates the perfect balance. Filet-o-fish Sandwich - 4 stars. This was really good, but was definitely improved with the bbq like sauce I had with the onion tempura. Yakinuku Steak - 5+ stars. I'm not a big steak person but thought this was excellent! Rich in flavor, great texture, and cooked perfectly! I need to have this in my life again very soon! They have tons of sake here, but I opted for a glass of Chenin Blanc which was excellent!
