The KBBQ was precooked! I expected to use the table range to grill it! Did not have Gyeranjjim (steamed egg bowl)and did not serve Gamja salad with the banchan (my wife's favorite). Despite being on Friday evening, there were plenty of available tables to seat my partner and me. Service was very quick. You are allowed 2 soup base. We ordered the kimchi and spicy. Soup bases were decent. The vegetables and meat appeared to be leftovers from the previous night. However, the meats from the second order were of much better quality. Definitely one of my go-to places for hot pot! It's Korean style so your broth choices are different than most other places. The most unique one being tofu soup - yes soondubu both, tofu included! For meat and veggies, there aren't as many options as other places but they have all the necessities. My favorite was the wagyu! Another unique thing about this restaurant, is that the AYCE hot pot includes Korean fried chicken and other sides. There's many flavors to choose from as well. One of my favorite sides is the cheese corn; it's sweet and cheesy, definitely gonna make you feel fat, but is soo good. Ate our hearts out and were not disappointed. Came in around 2pm on a Saturday and the restaurant had about 5-6 customers but only 2 people working. We waited for quite a while before anyone even noticed we had walked in. Once we were seated we ordered promptly and the rest fell into place - just wish we had been greeted! Nonetheless we ordered the zucchini pancake which was huge and on its own hot stone dish. We then got a two person beef hot pot which was beyond delicious and beyond filling. My boyfriend and I decided to try this place for the first time. We had never had hot pot before this. The place was fairly busy for a Thursday night but it had a fun and lively ambience about it. We chose the all you can eat hot pot and got appetizers with it as well. The hot and sweet chicken and the kimchi pancakes were the best! They have a sauce/sides bar which gives you an array of things to put in your hot pot. They have a few different options for broth but we got the spicy and miso. Compared to other places I have been after this, they have a huge meat selection for the hot pot. Overall the food was delicious and the service was great. The staff are super friendly. Beware, this place can get super busy on Friday-Sunday and it will take a while to be seated and sometimes can take a while to order food since the staff is so busy. I was in the mood for shabu shabu after my workout and headed on over to Hancock. First off, there isn't a lot of parking. I had to park on a residential street. Food was super tasty! I got the shabu shabu for 2 for $35. My boyfriend and I got the kimchi and traditional broth. The kimchi broth is super flavorful while the traditional broth tastes a little bland (similar to miso). I personally kept pouring the traditional broth into my kimchi broth when I was running a little low. If I didn't make it clear, I'd recommend another broth aside from traditional if you want something flavorful. Service wasn't super great. Our server hardly checked up on us and kept forgetting things we had requested. I probably had to call the server a total of 4 times which is why I docked the review by one star read more

Just signed the name on the paper eventually under the sign where it said "to go orders". It was about 25-30 min or so before anyone said anything. I didn't mind waiting, it was jsut you have to acknowledge customers and it wasn't only us, 2-3 other parties waited as well with no acknowledgement. But once we sat, the waitresses did a great job. Service is slow for a Thursday night. My friend and I got seated immediately after arriving all the way in the end of the hall. The waitress has given us a menu to look at. No water were served while we we were checking the menu. I looked around to see if I can flag her down but no where to be found. After couple minutes of waiting she came back and took her orders. We ordered the specialty hotpot with traditional soup, beer, and lobster balls. This nice water brought out our side dishes. The broth is tasty and very light. It's a good serving for two people. It came with cabbages, tofu, mushroom, beef, and also lobster balls. The beef is okay. It was on the fatty side. Overall the experience was decent. !!! THEY ARE NOT HOOKED UP TO YELP ANYMORE !!! I put myself on the waitlist and when I came in, my party still had to wait for 30 minutes. When I asked a server about the wait, he said it's because their system isn't connected to Yelp anymore, meaning my party wasn't on the waitlist; I had to write my name on a piece of paper and wait with everyone else. They are understaffed. There were only 2 servers working the dining room, and they weren't particularly attentive. It will take 15+ min after you're seated to get water, 15-20+ to have your order taken, etc. It was pretty frustrating, especially after the long wait we had to be seated. However, the food... is incredible. We ordered the Korean hot pot that serves 2-- but really it can serve 3-4! Once you finish your order you get this delicious fried rice in this same pan, which we enjoyed a lot. We also ordered the korean wraps for 2. I highly recommend the pork belly and the beef brisket!!! Wrapping the rolls yourself is super fun and it comes with a large assortment of veggies to add to your roll. Super delicious! If I had 3 hours to spare I'd definitely come back again because the food is phenomenal. But honestly, the service has to step it up for me to become a regular. read more

What a disappointment. The yelp ratings are misleading--food doesn't taste authentic as the business claims, service was awful, prices aren't even that fair. We came when there were only two other parties in the restaurant, and we were greeted coldly and were never checked on to see if we ever needed anything. I got the single serving hot pot and it was bland but oily (from the bad quality meat). It also wasn't what you would traditionally consider hot pot because I didn't get to dip the food on my own as the menu leads you to believe. Maybe it's different if I had ordered the bigger size? If that's the case, I think the menu should indicate that. We also got the yukejang and it was oily and creamy (yukejang should not be creamy) with barely any vegetables or meat but a ton of vermicelli noodles. If they're trying to create some fusion dish, then that's cool--I'm just not a fan. I guess 1 star because their happy hour deal is good? But I'm not interested in trying that out. read more

I tried the tofu soup with kimchi and vegetables and it was delicious! The broth was tomato-y and the medium spice level packed a perfect, sinus-clearing punch. The side dishes were yummy, too.
