The bagels at Hank's are absolutely to die for! As a native New Yorker, I have a hard time finding bagels in LA that do it for me but Hank's is just about as good as it gets here in my opinion. My other favorites are Sam's and the Bagel Broker but Hank's has won my heart. The cinnamon raisin bagel (toasted) with honey butter is such a comforting pairing and I highly recommend. I did not try any of their sandwiches but they looked amazing and I can't wait to come back and try more flavors on the menu! Delicious bagel's at Hank's. We ordered the No. 1, No. 3, and No. 6. The No. 1 is your common bacon, egg, and cheese. Though, the way they do it at hank's is absolutely delicious. We had it on a cheddar bagel, which I believe made all the difference. Their cheddar bagel was delicious with the sandwich. The egg was cooked semi runny, the bacon was nice and crispy, the tomato was a fantastic fresh compliment, and you get the sharpness from the cheese. One thing I have to note is having the bacon on it's own. It was rich, smoky, and sweet. The No. 3 is like a lox bagel. The bagel sandwich as a whole was incredible. It was a perfectly balanced sandwich. The fishiness from the gravlax is cut by the pickled onion. Not to mention, the capers and cream cheese also provide a good balance. The cucumber in the sandwich needs a mention because of it's nice crispy and freshness it adds to the bagel sandwich. I got it on a rosemary bagel, which added more to the flavor. The No. 6 is a turkey bagel. It was a really good bagel which was carried by the bagel we chose, and it's aioli. It is an average turkey breast sandwich. Though, the aioli took it to another level. The bagel we chose had to be the most flavorful bagel I have ever had. It was a cheddar and jalapeno bagel. Therefore, when eating the sandwich you get the sharpness from the cheddar, and a little kick of spice from the jalapeno. The bagel's for all the sandwiches were incredibly delicious. The exterior was nice and crispy, with a doughy interior. The quality of the food is really good. They make their bagels in house. Therefore, the bagels are always fresh and flavorful. The other ingredients such as their lox was delicious and tasted fresh. The presentation was average. Just an average bagel sandwich. I do appreciate how each bagel sandwich came in different boxes. In terms of price to portion it is a little bit pricy. The portion is fairly large. You would be full with 1 sandwich, or maybe 1 and a half. Again, $10 for a bacon, egg, and cheese is pretty pricey. Though, the flavor makes up for it. The No. 3 I found to be a good price. Due to the lox, you would expect it to be more pricey. The customer service is good. It The staff are really nice. The time we got our order was under 10 minutes, which I found impressive. The staff know how to work fast. The ambiance of the interior seemed large. They have an open kitchen, which is very appealing. Though, no indoor seating at the moment. The place is clean overall. We could not find a private parking lot, so we did street parking. Long over due review.... Although relatively new to the Toluca Lake neighborhood, Hank's has quickly become a local favorite. Bagels are fresh and delicious. Took my teenage son there for a quick pick up between his online classes. (I had the veggie sandwich, he had a gravlax sandwich.) My coworker brought me Hanks for helping her out with something and I immediately fell in love because it definitely has New York style bagel all over it. And I'm from New York so I know. My favorite LA bagel shop from a bagel snob. I used to get NYC bagels delivered to me but this is a more practical option haha. A few of my favorite things: Rosemary Salt bagel, angry cream cheese, and their egg salad. I don't know how they do their egg salad but it's amazing. I take it to work and eat it on toast for a quick delicious lunch. But honestly all of their bagels are good, even their sweet ones (salty chocolate). The guy at the pickup table was cute and courteous. I ordered #3 with a salt bagel. It was good and it was different. I am so used to the New Yorker version of lox and bagel, plain cream cheese, onions, capers, lox on a bagel. This was good but nothing spectacular.
