First time at this location. I have been to the one in Sherman Oaks a few times. Love their bagels. Always fresh and delicious. The sandwiches are so good. They are fully loaded with good ingredients. The white fish bagel sandwich I ordered today was amazing. My husband and I loved it. The lox was good as well. It's my most favorite everywhere I go. Again it's fully loaded here at Hank's. It's under $20 and it will make you full. Easily sharable if you are not too hungry. Customer service was friendly and welcoming. There are a few tables outside on the curb which was nice to seat and enjoy our bagels. They serve coffee and iced drinks. It's a great place of you are craving bagels. Freshhhh baked daily every morning.

The food here is pretty good for a little bagel shop deli. The bagel sandwich I got was packed full of veggies and a bit of turkey too. It's a bit on the expensive side I ordered just a turkey gruyere sandwich on jalapeno everything bagel and it's was $17.88 out the door. The service is a bit sketch, the first time I wanted to try it I went to the register and three staff were debating a $100 they received. I patiently waited and eventually they all just walked away never saying a word to me. This was after spending a good five minutes letting them sort it out. So I walked out not having ordered anything. Today was a bit better I was helped right away by someone and I'm glad I gave them another chance. It's a sidewalk deli so you're on Alameda it's kind of loud but if you have a hankering for a bagel sandwich and are in the area they are good.

EXPENSIVE!! Let me start my review by saying that the quality of the bagels I got today, wasn't worth the price that I paid. 3 bagels & an Orange Juice costed me $39.00 even. Could have had breakfast/lunch for that price at Bob's Big Boy, a few restaurants down. Walked in today around 12:45pm and got a nice welcome from Shane H. He was pleasant, with a pretty smile. Very welcoming. These are what I ordered: #1 Onion Bagel that came with Spicy Maple Bacon, Cheddar cheese, tomato slice and Aioli. (toasted) #2 Everything Bagel (toasted) add Avocado (+$3.50) that came with Fried Egg, Braised Greens, Gruyere, Spicy Marinated Peppers & Aioli. I also got 1 Salty Chocolate Chip bagel ($3.00) and an OJ for $5.50. Both of the bagels were not well toasted and were very hard to chew. No public restroom, no parking and limited patio seating outside right in the front of the shop. I think I will stick to my Einstein Bagel or other bagel shops that's not as messy (bagel wise) & not as expensive as Hanks! Place was clean, and baskets were somewhat full. They close early. 2pm. There is no seating area in their shop. It's mostly a spot for to-go and pickup orders.

Let me tell you! These were by far some of the best bagels I've had. I grew up in LA and am so proud that a bagel renaissance is occurring on the west coast, especially in LA. I was fortunate enough to grow up eating great bagels and these are so far my favorite. Now to the bagels. They had a crisp crust with a slight chew, soft crumb and mild sourdough tang. Seeding was generous and flavor was well developed. Great micro-blistering on the crust. The service was also excellent. Quick ordering and quick delivery. Amazing customer service. A must stop for locals and travelers alike.

Finally made my visit to Hank's and it did not disappoint. My father described it correctly: the bagels are like a legit French baguette: harder on the outside and soft in the inside. Deeelicious sandwiches. I was recommended the rosemary sea salt, and man, getting some odd bites of salt was so nice! Tried the pizza bagel too. Reminding me of my childhood days when that was quite popular... we got number 3 and 6 and would come back again. Also bought a plain smear. It's not a big place. No seats inside, just a few outside. Not much room to move around. Be prepared to wait unless you get there early!

I love a good bagel for breakfast & that's what Hank's offered! It was toasted to perfection & more than enough cream cheese!! Shoutout to the ladies who worked the food truck at WB!!

Was heading to Burbank airport and wanted to grab something quick on the way. Hank's Bagels popped up and they had online ordering so we decided to give it a try. We're so glad we placed our order online because the line was out the door when we got there on a Sunday afternoon. I did a build-your-own bagels with an onion bagel, scallion spread, adding capers. The #3 is actually similar but is loaded with a ton more toppings (like sprouts, tomatoes, dill, etc.). My order was really good but I think I'll try the preset next time. The scallion spread is really creamy and yummy and works well with the lox and capers. My husband order the #2 (fried egg, braised greens, Gruyère, peppers, and aioli) and loved it! The peppers caught his eye since he usually likes things with a little kick. We were hesitant because of the braised greens, but it actually worked really well. It was basically savory breakfast sandwich in bagel form. Would recommend adding a protein next time to make it a more complete meal. This sandwich is really messy though! Come prepared with napkins.

4* Value 3.5* Food 5* Service 4* Ambiance As advertised, the service is friendly, making our morning meal delightful. Limited seating outside with no available space to dine inside, this small bagel and sandwich place is best for a pick-up and go, as seating is limited. The coffee is good, but it is not made to order. The sourdough taste shines through in the bagels. Our favorite bagel here is the everything bagel; rosemary, poppyseeds, onion, and garlic topings really enhance the flavor of our sandwiches. We ordered the turkey sausage and bacon sandwiches; both were flavorful, and the portions were generous. The turkey sausage was perhaps the largest I have ever had, and it was delicious. A little difficult to bite into our sandwiches, as the fillings fall out easily, which could be due to the texture of the bagel itself. I would like to try a basic bagel and cream cheese here to get a better insight into these crafted sourdough bagels.

I was driving through LA and craving a BEC. Luckily, Yelp recommended this spot and it did not disappoint. Ordered online and super easy to pick up. The rosemary sea salt bagel HIT DIFFERENT. I've never seen any bagel spot with that type of bagel. So good. Maple glaze bacon was a nice touch too. Definitely will be back next time I'm in LA

First time here & I'll definitely be back. I got the #3 Nova Lox the works on an everything bagel. It was LOADED and sooo delish. Nice staff and quick service. It's street parking only which can be a pain in the area but worth it. There's a few tables outside to sit at and a door for pickup orders.

    Jessica M.

I ordered a pickup through Hank's online system and it was super easy. The order said it would be ready in about 15-20 minutes, which was perfect because that's about how long it took me to get there. Parking was a little tricky at first, but if you go around the back on a side street, you can find a spot pretty easily. The place itself is super cute and very pickup-friendly. There's a clear spot to check in and let them know you're there for a pickup order. I told them my name and my order was ready to go. When I got home, I was sooo excited. I ordered the #1 and added onion absolutely delicious. The bacon had just the right amount of heat, the bagel was perfectly soft, and the aïoli tied everything together beautifully. I'll definitely be back, and my sister will be coming here even more often since she lives nearby.

    Elvira O.

I stopped by Hank's for a bagel and coffee. The rosemary sea salt bagel did not disappoint! They did pile on the cream cheese just a bit too much--enough for two full bagels. I had to wipe some off! Nevertheless, the bagel and cream cheese was delicious and filling. The coffee was perfectly brewed. Service was fast and friendly! I will definitely be coming back to try a sandwich for lunch.

    Lena C.

I love these bagels! Easily my favorite place to get a bagel sandwich and they never disappoint. I recommend ordering ahead of time since they do take a while. They have lots of options in terms of bagels and spreads, but my favorite is their bagel sandwiches. I recommend ordering the Number 4 or the Lox one. Service is quick and they are timely with pickup times.

Will they scramble an egg so the yolk isn't separate/runny?

I've been here a few times and I haven't had a runny yolk yet. I didn't think much of it at the time, maybe I just got a slightly over cooked egg? Either way, based on my experience I think it's safe to say they can accommodate a request for a… Read more

    Are all the bagels vegan?

Most, but not all of them. The couple of times I have been here staff confidently have been able to tell me which are and are not.

    Any gluten free options?

No they don't have any gluten free bagels but they do have salads, drinks, and other items that are gluten free

What is their angry cream cheese spread?

Sweet and spicy (honey and habanero)

    Do you have bagel chips?

Yes! Sometimes they do :) You can always check their online ordering menu to see when it's available.

Are the bagels made with eggs?

No. The only bagel made with eggs is the actual "egg bagel", which is a special only. Not part of the regular lineup.

Can you call orders for pick up?

Only during the week. They don't answer phones on the weekends because it's insanity. If you catch them in a slow period on weekends they'll take your phone order. Doesnt hurt to call and try!

    Do they have bialeys?

    Yes

Is this a good place to grab a bite to eat and work on your laptop?

When the weather is nice they have a great patio area thats very quiet and shaded. I worked there last week for 2 hours.

First off, the bagel itself deserves some love -- perfectly chewy with that classic NY-style texture (NY water really does make a difference). It had that fresh, slightly crisp exterior with a soft, satisfying bite inside. The Texas Brisket was tender and flavorful, with that rich, savory depth you want from good brisket. The Big City Pastrami Egg was equally comforting -- warm, creamy egg paired with soft, well-seasoned pastrami that wasn't overly salty. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made. Portion-wise, the filling might lean a little modest, but the quality absolutely makes up for it. It felt balanced rather than overloaded, and left us satisfied without feeling heavy -- perfect pre-movie fuel. This is whipped cream cheese with roasted beet puree. Light in beet flavor, it had dill in it too. I was hesitant in getting a tub because it was on the pricier side. But it was so good, glad I got it! SEATS / AMBIANCE It had a lovely East Coast diner feel when walking in. But still, the space felt a bit cluttered. There were booths, counter seats and outdoor seats too. It was packed inside on a Wednesday lunch. Got there before noon. CUSTOMER SERVICE Overall good, friendly service. Staff was smiling and that's always a good thing! Went on a Wednesday before noon, but it was nearly packed. PARKING Horrible. Just horrible. Street parking only. There's a few spots directly in front of Belle's, but it's metered parking too and also it was full. It's parking that always makes or breaks your experience when driving to LA. After driving around to find a decent parking spot, I finally found one close to Belle's, but after parking, I realized it was a loading zone. So hurried to get my food to go and just ate in the car. Overall, I enjoyed the bagels here and would love to return for their bagels and lunch offerings.
