For the very RARE five stars that I provide, I am absolutely going to give it to "Hank's ...a deli of sorts" I was in shock to learn that this particular deli has been open since 2019! Had I known I probably would've been ordering sandwiches from them throughout Covid?! Situated right next to the Toluca Lake UCLA motion picture medical facility, they offer an array of sandwiches that are absolutely delicious. I guess I was extra lucky because the bagels I had were spanking fresh! Hopefully they're always like this, but I highly recommend a sandwich here!! Also incredibly impressive is they make sure to take care for those who have special needs. Check out the fact that they will come out to you if you just ring the bell in a wheelchair or have difficulty walking.! Thank you to Hanks for taking care of our seniors and special needs community. Only possible comment I would have is maybe try to have the tables outdoor wiped down a little more often . But when you're busy and having to make food for everybody, it's totally understandable. Delicious bagels!!! Their bagels are wonderful lil creations. Crusty on the outside with a slight chew on the inside. My fiancé chose Sandwich No 2 (crispy fried egg, braised greens, gruyere, pickled peppers, and aioli) for us to split. I wasn't excited about the flavor combination at first, but boy was I wrong! It was acidic, bright, and a little spicy. I thought I would regret not ordering a sandwich with meat, but the egg and aioli really made up for it. Overall, a really great combination! There is not a whole lot of space to sit so if you're planning on enjoying there you may have to wait for a table out front or hang out on the steps near by. Hank's absolutely lives up to the hype. I got their breakfast sandwich with maple glazed bacon, sharp cheddar, and aioli, and it was incredible. The bacon was perfect, and the bagel itself was insanely good, soft, squishy, and perfectly chewy. We also tried a couple of their lunch sandwiches, including the sopressata and the tuna salad, and both were packed with flavor and super fresh. No sides needed. The bagels are the star. I know it's wildly popular, but they commit the cardinal sin of using caraway seeds on their everything bagel and, worse, no large flake salt. Two strikes. Then, sacrilege, the works includes sprouts (unforgivable sin) and watery and tasteless cucumber. Let's just say that no self respecting New Yorker would eat a Hank's bagel. To me, it was inedible. TLDR: 4/5 Cute place, a welcoming staff, and pricey bagels but its truly made with care. - I got here around 8:30am on a weekday. There's plenty of parking on the side streets during that time (not metered?) and a parking lot across the street if you're feeling a little cheeky. There is outdoor seating as well. I went with sesame untoasted because why would you get a plan bagel. I got untoasted as well because some people said that it is better without it, however he did comment that they were just freshly made which made me wonder if its better to get it toasted when they aren't as fresh anymore? Total was $14 more or less. Comes with Egg, bacon and tomato. Not your new york style BEC but it'll suffice. I gotta say this was the messiest bagel I've ever had. I think i didn't help that the raw tomatoes weren't on the bun so they kept slipping with the oozing egg. After about half the bagel I just decided to eat it piece by piece because there was no way. I think on its own it was a good bagel. A well-made bagel. But overall as a sandwich is was super hard to eat and brought on some insecurities eating in public. The place is clean, and the staff is incredibly friendly. Despite arriving just before closing time, I was welcomed warmly rather than being rushed out the door. Okay this is by far my favorite bagel place. We get the #1 with a rosemary salt bagel and mmmmmm I can taste it already. The sweet maple bacon is to die for and the egg just explodes and meshes so well but it's been made so good it doesn't make a huge mess. The cheese is also great in combo with everything!!! We get it with the orange juice and it's the best small breakfast. But it is very filling. My boyfriend and I split this bagel and feel full after. 4+ a good friend of mine told me that I needed to come here to get the rosemary and sea salt bagel with just schmear (so I can really taste the bagel). So that's exactly what I did. I came here and just ordered the rosemary and sea salt bagel with lox cream cheese. I asked for it to be toasted as well. It wasn't busy so it didn't take too long to get my order. My buddy was right - the rosemary sea salt bagel is something you gotta try. It has the unmistakable herbal flavor of the rosemary, but the salt just somehow brings it to another level. The bagel itself is pretty darn chewy. I would prefer it to be a little softer on the inside, but that's being nitpick-y. The bagel is good. And there is a heaping amount of schmear that comes with it. Parking was a little tough because it is in a busy-ish area of Burbank/Toluca Lake . I parked a couple blocks away and walked over no problem. Ordering was super easy and the folks were super friendly. The ordering area feels like a small take out shop, but there some seating outside on the sidewalk for some prime people watching or a somewhat, pretty sizable nook out back with a bunch more tables. Recently moved into the area and finally decided to give this place a try with my sister. Eric was great help & made us feel right at home. I didn't feel annoying asking questions about the menu & Eric made some great suggestions. The food was just as great! But if you are looking for better than the traditional, then Hank's should be your GoTo. The Number 2 (Beavis laugh) isn't just an outstanding breakfast sandwich...It's one of the best anytime, all-around sandwiches anywhere in L.A. Metro. Hanks bagel joins The sourdough bagel craze! Their sourdough bagels were delicious you can even order loxs and cream cheese exactly from the restaurant the sourdough is delicious with a hint of salt. Perfect for salt lovers. Especially for my husband who loves salt. Don't worry it wasn't that salty for non-salt lovers don't worry not too salty just the perfect amount of salt taste. it was crispy and very chewy on the outside. Delicious for chewy lovers. The interior was spotless if you go to the location in Brentwood, it is spotless. It's right in Brentwood Village and the spot is beautiful. It's perfect to romanticize your life. There is also a Starbucks nearby if you want to get any morning coffee or there's a Bellacures if you wanna get your nails done. there are many things to do in Brentwood Village especially get a bagel from Hank's bagels. They come out so quick but if you go in the morning and you're in a rush, go ahead and order they'll be out in less than 10 minutes. The service was amazing. They delivered my bagel to me in less than 10 minutes. I am only giving it four stars. Because there was actually something deceiving for me. The bagels were $3.25 each and half a dozen was priced for $19.50 and if you do the math $3.25 x 6 is $19.50 and they usually give you a discount or they give you a free one, but that was not in my case but also a Baker's dozen which is 13 is $34.50 and if you do the math $3.25 times 13 is $42.25 cents so you get $7.25 cents off you can add beverages to that but it's mixed bakers dozen and you can get 12 of them hand sliced for six dollars which I think is a scam you can also add other stuff to it, including lox anyway the poster is beautiful and the interior space is amazing. Cute little bagel shop with lots of bagel variety! I had the jalapeño cheddar because that's always my to-go bagel. I spoke to a local who frequents the place and he recommended whitefish. I tried it! I can see how others enjoy the taste, but the cream maybe too much for me to handle. I was looking for something less creamy that day. Street parking is available and usually there is a spot right in front of the place. If not, a few feet down has residential street parking as well. I did like that they have an open outdoor seating area in the alley. They would bring the food back to you as well. Other friends thoroughly enjoyed the bagels they got. If I come back, I'd try their other bagels such as Egg, and the vegan option (it has pesto on top). read more

This is likely the absolute best bagels in Burbank or nearby. The bagels, the sandwiches everything here is good. Minus one thing- today I tried the cheddar garlic bagel. It is not really a bagel, more a bagel with stuff on top. Normally you anticipate it baked on or part of the bagel. This was just really greasy and sort of gross. Don't try this one. I almost fail to believe it's from this location. Back to the good stuff- you can tell this place makes everything out of the proper ingredients and it isn't streamlined crap like Noah's or the other commercial places. Service here is always great. I ordered an everything with scallion cream cheese but you couldn't even taste the scallion, it just tasted like plain cream cheese.
