My sister and I decided to have lunch here on a Saturday afternoon in late October. We luckily found parking spot in the shared parking lot. It is next to MCD's. After 11:30am, there was only one table left. The staff are nice and speak English and Canto or Mandarin. Inside has several tables with a counter and nice ambiance. The menu has lunch specials 11.95-13.95. We ordered 4 dishes:beef chows fun, Mongolian beef, salt and pepper pork chop, duck and chai sui and lemon ice tea. Free refills on lemon ice tea. All the dishes were good and each plate came one at a time. The beef chow fun needed more wok hei and it was still good. We were full with leftovers for our mother to eat. Loved it. As a Cantonese person who has been looking for Hong Kong cafes that can satisfy my milk tea criteria, I can confidently say this place has the best HK style milk tea in socal. This has been my second time back in the span of about a year and the quality is still just as good. The food is amazing, the duck has very thin and crispy skin while the meat is still juicy, the fried rice has a good amount of wok hay and good balance of ingredient, and the prices are very reasonable. The service is not too bad, it's about as expected for HK cafes. The restaurant isn't very big so you may have to wait when it gets busy, but I think the wait is worth it. This place is an underrated gem and is so delicious, let me tell you -- I was literally in Hong Kong 24 hours prior and not even the food out there was as good as this place ! We've finally hit the jackpot! We've found our new go-to spot near CSArts Duarte. This place has the perfect lunch special--big portions, affordable prices, and oh-so-good food. Their two-combo BBQ pork and roasted duck was a game-changer. The meat was so tender, it practically melted in our mouths. My son was over the moon for his wonton noodle soup, and it was in big bowl. More than enough for him. The pork chop with pepper salt was another winner. It was so massive, we couldn't finish it all (and that's saying something!). We ended up taking home a bunch of leftovers. For four people, we ordered three lunch specials and still had leftovers. Next time, we'll probably skip the drinks, since the option that we picked were milk tea and coffee, which weren't quite our favorites. But my daughter loved them! We'll definitely be back to try their takoyaki. It was sold out this time, but we're excited to give it a shot next time. All in all, we spent a total of $50 for four people, including three drinks. This place is sooo good definitely a hidden gem in Duarte! We stopped by during their lunch special and got the Mongolian beef, orange chicken, string beans, and wonton soup. Everything came with white rice, which was perfect. The string beans were fire, a little spicy and had ground beef mixed in. The Mongolian beef was super tender and had some veggies in there too. The orange chicken had a bit too much orange zest for me, but still tasty. The wonton soup had 5 shrimp wontons, egg drop noodles, and a salty chicken-flavored broth that hit the spot. Came here on a Thursday night with some friends. The restaurant is on the smaller side with just several tables but it's nice and clean. The staff is friendly. We ordered several dishes and they are all tasty. I ordered the seafood with tofu and it's excellent. The seafood was fresh and the tofu is soft and with good soy flavor inside. I think the star of the restaurant was the chili sauce on the table! It is so good and flavorful with tiny dried shrimps in there. It's not too spicy so a great condiment to boost the flavors. I wanted to try their roast duck but was told the machine to make the roast duck was down so they can't make it for a couple of weeks. We are happy with the food we ordered and will come back to try the roast duck and other dishes next time. read more

I was being open minded since they just opened at 9:00am. The place is extremely small! Not meant for big parties at all. Anything larger than a party of 4 I would avoid. They only had like 5 tables. I noticed another party coming in after us and put the name down. I saw the waitress cross my name off and proceeded. Obviously not attentive. I had to go back and let her know that she crossed my name off and I've been waiting outside and they have not called anyone since all the tables were seated. She apologized but that was it. I was not happy with it as she saw me write my name down. Again 15 mins later no one was getting their food at it's 9:30!! I have a feeling the second wave of diners wouldn't be seated until after 10am since we ended up leaving around 9:40 and only one table had food. Super slow service considering it's a small Hong Kong cafe. Any other cafe would be pumping people in and out. They need to work on their kitchen and service level. It's way too slow if people are waiting 30+ mins for food and for breakfast of all things at opening !! Food should be out within 10-15 mins of ordering like other places at opening! Very small cha chaan teng (HK style cafe) in Duarte. They are open almost everyday from 9am to 9pm(closed Wednesday). Parking seems a bit limited when the plaza is busy but we were able to park in the back. There was one server when I went and she was friendly. I would prefer to have the bun a little denser (mouth feel) as it's a bit too soft. It's completely an 8/10 for me. Wonton noodles were delish! SOOO excited we have authentic Chinese (Cantonese) cafe near us now so we don't need to drive to San Gabriel / Arcadia for it!! Husband grew up in Temple City so we pretty much exclusively drive out to SGV for HK cafes and this spot did not disappoint in comparison. The owners are super sweet and friendly, place is clean and looks to be recently remodeled. Prices are fair with sizeable / shareable portions.
