    Happy Chick meal
    Mary L.

It's a chicken joint, with tenders, sandwiches, salads, and a decent variety of sides. I've often driven past it on my way to T22, and wondered whether to give it a try. Today, with a BOGO coupon in hand, I did. It's a counter-order fast-food type setup, but I thought it strange that the big menu board didn't mention prices. I had to search around to find that info, in a battered 8x10 frame on the wall. Hmm. $13 for a meal of 3 tenders and fries, with no drink or biscuit included? Seemed a bit much. I got mine to go, and asked for one order of original and one of spicy tenders, but at home, neither of us could tell the difference, so I guess they didn't give me spicy. The tenders varied in size from big to skimpy, but were fresh and tasty--though I would have liked to try the spicy type. The fries were also good, a nice medium cut, in between the dreaded shoestring and chunky steak fry. The sauces we got were good, but if you use a lot, looks like they charge "Just 99 cents!" for an extra tablespoonful. With my BOGO, the price seemed about right. But at their posted price point, (which seems designed to go up at a moment's notice) I'm much more likely to spend that much for table service and excellent chicken a few blocks further north on Burnet--or half that for Cane's or Popeyes, if I want to order at a counter and eat out of a box.

5* to Matt for his friendly service and great music in this little chicken joint on Burnet. While I admit I originally had set out on foot to Fly Rite (now closed) I was relieved to see this sign and enjoyed a delicious chicken sandwich while I was getting my car serviced at the nearby Mazda dealership! A plethora of sauces offered, I enjoyed the avacado plabano.

Quick bite to eat at this small chicken shack. I got the happy chick which consisted of 3 tenders choice of original or spicy fries and one extra side; I chose a side of Mac and cheese. The tenders were very crispy and fresh. The tenders were seasoned well. I opted for the spicy tenders however, they were not spicy at all. I liked the flavor of the white Mac and cheese but unfortunately it was served Luke warm. The fries were good (I like battered fries). They have a lot of sauce options. I had the honey mustard which was delicious (tasted home made) and garlic ranch (good but wasn't super garlicky as I hoped). Overall this was a nice little quick meal and if I come back to town I would come back.

10/10 this place hit the spot for my chicken tender craving Tenders: quality white meat chicken, no weird gristle or tendons, meat was tender and seems like they fried it just for my order Fries: well seasoned and crispy, can't ask for anything more Mac and cheese: good cheese flavor, I liked it Wish they had prices on the menu- my plate came out to $11 after tax and tip which I think is fine for how quality each piece of my meal was

So good. This is the spicy/hot chicken. Wasn't nashville spicy, but it had a good kick. I wish they gave more fries.

I'd recommend trying once to cross it off the list. Overall the quality is good but I wouldn't be coming back. Here's why. 1. The spicy isn't spicy at all. I'm now curious to see the difference between the regular and spicy. 2. But not curious enough to pay these insane prices. Seriously this is the most I've ever paid for 3 tenders and a chicken sandwich. And while good, there really wasn't anything special or unique about it that warranted such outrageous prices. 3. Service sucked. For these prices and having the word happy in your name, I expect joker smiles and energy. The dude did not smile, nor ask us if it's our first time, or explain the menu, or engage in any form. I get it, it's chicken tenders, I can figure it out but I have a feeling the sauces are a big selling point and may be the special thing about this place? Wouldn't know from this guy. 4. After looking at the many sauces and not receiving too much guidance, we decided on our safety ones - jalapeno ranch and chipotle ranch. Jalapeno ranch was pretty good. Chipotle ranch was a bit runny and the consistency did not work with the tenders. I saw some cool ones like Raspberry chipotle and avocado poblano but didn't get to try them. Overall, it's worth trying once. But I'm sticking to Chick-fil-A for my spicy sandwiches for over half the price and triple the taste and T22/Popeyes for spicy tenders.

Great food! I loved that they did grilled chicken tenders. The place was clean, and had a great patio.

My favorite vegan BBQ "chicken" sandwich with French fries, and a fabulous Happy salad as well. They also have a great butter pie, too!!

Finally I stopped by with a friend after a long bike ride and we took home a whole chicken to split. Um. Everything was DELICIOUS! The whole chicken came with soft corn tortillas, salsas, and a side each of beans and rice. An grilled/roasted (aka slightly charred) onion was wrapped up in parchment with the chicken, absorbing yummy chicken flavors that was pulled apart for tacos. Everything was flavorful and the beans were studded with bacon chunks in it. Yes, it was that good! The chicken was really flavorful. Very savory and perfectly charred. . It's mesquite grilled chicken but I don't think I've had anything like it.. Unlike typical American barbecue, this wasn't sweet at all. Some of the white meat pieces were a bit dry, so I ate them with the beans and all was well.

When I…read morewent to go pick up my order, the cashier was graciously enough to inform me that their website is powered through DoorDash so if you order online, all the prices are unfortunately higher than their menu...so unfortunate to hear :( As for the food, I ordered the 3 Piece White Meat Chicken Plate, which came with 2 chicken breasts and 1 wing (they surprisingly give the full wing), and it comes with toast, baked beans, and cole slaw be default. You can exchange the default sides for some other options for a little extra charge. It was wonderful to see how generous the portion sizes were, including the sides! The chicken was perfectly friend and breaded in my opinion while keeping the white meat tender -- it was still like that even after I put the leftovers in the air fryer the next day. The baked beans were very flavorful and the sweetness complimented the savory chicken well. The cheer on top moment was the fact that the chicken was seasoned with a spicy seasoning so there was a bit of a subtle spicy aftertaste in each bite! I'll definitely be back again! :)

The free…read moreand freshly fried, well-seasoned tortilla chips are consistently excellent, and the restaurant is always clean and welcoming. Overall, we truly enjoy dining here. However, I do have a few concerns that are worth noting for both management and potential customers: First, this is not an inexpensive place to eat. Most individual options range from $15 to $16 or more per person. At that price, I find it disappointing that pico de gallo was removed from the salsa bar. It used to be included, but now it's only available in a ***VERY*** small portion for an extra added charge. It feels like a cost-cutting move that doesn't align with the pricing. I would rather see a modest price increase than see staple items like this diminish. The salsa bar is OVERLY loaded with salsas, so wouldn't it make more sense to trim the excessive amounts of salsa and bring back a very popular option like pico de gallo that people actually WANT? When you make decisions, make it make sense. The second issue is with customer service which can be hit or miss depending on who is working. Most of the staff are friendly, attentive and professional. I appreciate the service they provide. However, there is this one male employee whose demeanor is consistently indifferent or downright dismissive. His apathy DRAINS ME. He rarely acknowledges customers and doesn't offer the same courtesy and attentiveness as the other team members. While I understand everyone has different personalities, hospitality is a key part of the dining experience and this person could use instruction from management to provide a little more courtesy and professionalism. It's expensive out here...so making customers feel valued keeps business. Fix homeboy's attitude. I share this feedback not to be harsh because this restaurant has so much going for it, but missteps matter. A few small changes could easily take the overall experience from good to truly great.
