We were traveling with three teenage boys who not only have big appetites, but also get bored pretty easily. We found Happy fish on Yelp and went to dinner and wound up staying for bingo on Wednesday! Three adults and three teenagers all had a great time. The food was great. The drinks were wonderful, especially the POG foam covered Mai Tai & Lilikoi Mule.

A gem next to the Kaanapali resort area. Best food in town, of the entire week we were there. Everyone enjoyed their choice. Great service, casual dining inside and outside table - but high end ingredients. Mixed bourbon drink was too sweet, but the bartender gave me an extra shot of bourbon to make it more palatable.

First time visiting Happy Fish while on vacay in Maui and WOW, this place is awesome -- especially for a late night bite!! We unfortunately left it to 8:30pm to find a dinner place (had a full day) and many places were closing soon. I came upon Happy Fish during my research and looked at the menu, everything sounded good. Upon arrival it was ~9pm and they close at 11pm, so still have a few hours. It was actually kinda busy for 9pm. Folks at the bar and a few tables. It was seat yourself though so we grabbed a spot and our waiter came within a couple minutes to greet us and bring waters. I already knew what I wanted: TROPICAL MAHI RICE BOWL: mahi filet over a bed of rice with slaw, mango salsa, poblano sauce, sour cream, cilantro & lime. The mahi was grilled and delicious!! I asked for a side of hot sauce and that completed the dish. Absolute !! The service was really great, I enjoyed Michael and his conversation. He was so interesting and definitely made the experience 5 for us. The other thing I really appreciated about Happy Fish is that they didn't bust your wallet. The prices were competitive and because of that, I'll definitely be back. I saw they have a happy hour menu too 9-11pm, I'm going to try that before I leave along with black light bingo Wednesday nights!! More fun to come and I'll def be telling all my friends and family who come to Maui to hit up Happy Fish. Amazing service, bomb food, great prices, and awesome vibe. Can't ask for anything more!!

The food was delicious, but the service was appalling. We waited for 10 minutes without any acknowledgment from the waitstaff who were walking around aimlessly. The service was ridiculous, and the ambiance was even more confusing.

The name of this place sounded like a poke spot to me but it's really not and fish is actually featured in less than half of the menu. Lots of nice versions of bar favorites. Come during one of their two happy hours (I think it was 9-12 and 5-11pm) It's a nice spot with a breezy and private covered outdoor patio adjacent to a dining area and bar that opens to outside. It's in a strip mall but this spot is really nice. It feels neighborhoody, other groups were clearly a broad range of local residents. This would be a nice place to hang and chill after work, plus they're open til midnight. Non happy hour drinks were fairly priced. Food was good. My fish tacos with mahi were excellent, served with a great pickly slaw. Fish and chips were crisp and piping hot with a decent tartar. The fries were excellent! Come here for a good mix of residents and tourists eating fairly priced dependable meals. Check out my photos for more info. Good spot!

This is a great place off the beaten path for drinks and game watching. Tip order at the bar for the best service. There's more TVs than servers so you'll always be able to watch football!

Best server even tho she was slammed made it fun. Best Mai Tai. Cutest bathroom. Yummy shrimp tacos and garlic fries. Bomb happy hour.

Great food and service, gets busy with locals vs tourists. Clean restrooms and outdoor seating.

Tried the ahi BLT with tater tots. It was nice to try something new. We normally get the fish tacos. The ahi BLT was fantastic. Everything is better with bacon. But what made the visit special was the great service from Shane. He took care of the special requests that my niece and wife made. They had the tropical mahi rice bowel. The fish was cooked to perfection. So nice not to have dry fish. Happy fish = happy people.

Pretty good spot to watch some football and grab a couple drinks. Wouldn't recommend the food though. They have a number of tvs and had all the games playing with audio for the featured game. Theres some patio seating too with visibility to the tvs. Buffalo cheese chicken sliders were decent. Toasted, with light blue cheese. The poke bowl was dry, and they don't have any good sauces for it, so that was disappointing. The loaded tail gate taco bag, which is a game day special was awful. Says it comes with waygu beef but it was really just a few dry ground beef crumbs and a few other toppings in a smalll fritos bag. Can't believe they charge $15 for it. The spicy margarita and espresso martini were delicious, and they have a good draft beer selection. The espresso tasted fresh. The service was a little slow but our server did check in occasionally for a water refill.

I really enjoyed this spot. The hotel we stayed at didn't offer the best food. So glad we found this spot. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. The waitress was helpful and kind. The restaurant was clean and very nice. TVs everywhere. Would definitely go again.

Stopped here on our way back from Lahaina based on a recommendation from a local. The food and drinks were priced very well compared to other restaurants and the fish tacos were amazing! Calamari was just okay but don't sleep on the tacos, they had Wahoo (ono) and Mahi available, we both went with the Wahoo.

The price vs quality and quantity is way more expensive than it's worth. Place was a mess and no one cared. Food was disgusting, BBQ sauce was watered down ketchup, potatoes were burned pucks, bread was a slippa, "meatballs" taste like an old freezer smells. Freezer burned to heck. The place was a mess and chaotic, a bench for waiting under a projecting decoration so you had to lean forward and bend down to sit. Nothing redeemable about this place. Unfortunately the place we were staying recommended this slop. Waste of $200 for barely enough food for 2 when we had 4 people.

I could have cried as all of my pain was healed in every bite.  The fish n chips were also incredibly good, a close second. The fish made me fall to my knees and thank life for putting me on this planet so I could eat this fish today. I guess everyone has a bad night now and then. Clearly our server was in that mode. Just sort of a dowered look on her face and no warmth or personal touch. The time before I had to send it back because it was like a tennis shoe sole. I even asked that it not be over cooked when I first ordered. Yikes!!! Pizza sauce was very thick and tomato pasty (canned?) At least the crust was good. I'm a big fan of Merriman's, but this branch is not anything like the original Wailea restaurant. Somebody in management needs to wake up and get involved. Customers shouldn't be taken for granted. For now, go to Aloha Grill.

And the best rice with furikake, and then some pretty good macaroni salad? Only here as far as I know? Definitely not where I live in San Diego. The tuna was just as amazing as I remembered. It's easy to walk into the beach bar. And I liked the strawberry salad again, although the strawberries themselves were not that great. The salad is full of fat (nuts, goat cheese, and dressing), but the local lettuce is really good and overall it's a very tasty salad. And you can avoid the fat by getting the dressing on the side and eating around the goat cheese and not eating all the nuts. I was a little disappointed with my 1944 cocktail. It was definitely strong in alcohol content, but the flavor was super muted compared to last time. Decided to order the hula pie because we had a discount card giving us a free one with two entrees, which we had bought anyway. It's a hulking dessert that might be crowd pleasing with a table of kids. It's much too much for one or two people, and not that interesting. Upon check in, we were greeted immediately and notified our table would be ready shortly. After being seated our server (Dara) approached us and took our drinks and food orders promptly. I ordered a local draft beer, it came out warm and pretty flat. We did mention it to staff and they allowed me to select another beer off their menu, which was appreciated. The food... mid, I got the ribs and "huli huli chicken" (if you can even call it that). The chicken was not like any kind of huli huli chicken I've ever had, and should definitely be renamed on the menu. Chicken was a very dry piece of grilled chicken breast, with bbq sauce on top. I took 1 bite of it. The ribs were decent enough, nothing fancy, but not bad either. This place is definitely overpriced, for a slightly better price point I would recommend Monkey Pod, it's worth the wait.
