I dropped my vehicle off in fully intact condition for a free multi-point inspection and lengthy quote write up. I was told that I would receive an update later that day and did not. In fact, after calling the next day and being put on hold, then hung up on, and trying the next day too, I hadn't gotten an update for 3 entire days later. When I finally went to pick up my vehicle, Bill, the Service Advisor helping me out, who I usually go to because I trust him, was very dismissive of my wait time and said everything was good to go and that they had been backed up. I didn't think I needed to do a once around on my vehicle because I *thought* I had left it in good hands. Seems that wasn't the case. Once I got home, I turned around to face my car and lock it and noticed that my bumper's grill was cracked. I immediately went back to the dealership where Bill was extremely dismissive and blamed it on me, saying I had dropped the car off destroyed. I asked to see the images and notes on the RO (I worked at a mechanic shop once and ALWAYS took pictures/notes of any and all damage to vehicles) and he told me they didn't have any. After making it extremely clear that I was upset and wanted to see footage of the entire time my vehicle was there, Bill decided to pay me out of pocket for SOME of the damages. I came out of pocket $1000 for the damage because I needed a brand new bumper; the grill piece is attached to the bumper and isn't sold as 2 separate pieces. If you want to leave your car for a FREE service, don't want any updates, expect your car to be treated like garbage, love being disrespected and want no one held accountable for mistakes, this is your place! (: Oh, and after all of that, Bill still tried to sink a hook in to sell me on a brand new car in the future. As if! read more

This review is regarding service. I came back here to fix the power window on my 17GS, first they changed the switch but it seems like the real problem is the power window motor. Garth have a me a quote for $800 just for the part. So I did some research and found out it could be around $300 or less. Shipping cost probably not included.. but $800 is nuts for just for one power window motor. Really had a hard time trying to reach someone that can help me through the phone but I have to visit just so he could give me a estimate.. it used to be such a nice experience coming over here and have my car properly taken care of. If your usual mechanic recommends you take it to a dealership, go ahead and get the diagnostic from a dealership. Once you find out your issues, get it out of there and take it back to your mechanic. Nothing against the guys that work here, they are not to blame for the obscene pricing of repairs. Was told my car was in need of about $3,200 in repairs, and my mechanic got it all done for $1,300, and I'm back on the road in great condition. Also, the guys take a looong time just to get a diagnostic here. Was told it would be a day or two, but it took 6 days, and another 2 days after the diagnosis to get my car back. Idk if this is how all dealerships work or if they're just busy, but luckily I didn't mind too much. I imagine a lot of other people would hate that it takes so long. This is long, but it has to be. My experience is from a position of experience with purchasing cars which I have done every two years for three decades: I expect open and honest engagement with integrity. I did not experience that with Harbor Chevrolet. I found the car on carguru. After several email exchanges, we negotiated a price of either $17,000 or $16,750 if I secured financing through them. I made two things clear 1) I can secure financing through my bank easily; however, if they offer the car at $16,750, I'll finance with them, and 2) I would be flying from San Francisco to Long Beach so nailing down the particulars is critically important before I book my flight and quite frankly before the hard credit pull. Once the salesperson and manager (Teresa and Andrew) confirmed the 'purchase' price, I calculated the details of loan (I'm in banking). I had the hard credit pull, negotiated price, etc. I sent an email to the manager that I would be arranging the flight and picking up the car. The Problem and Integrity Issues Right before the flight, I sent the manager the final details of loan based on the purchase price. However, our monthly payment didn't match. The net came down to Harbor adding a 3M door trim price of $350 to the car "AFTER" all prices were finalized, "AFTER" I secured financing through them and "AFTER" arranging travel. The $350 was never, never, never discussed. I was surprised and pissed after my due diligent to be open, honest and direct through the process (all on email). What was now going on is summed up as dealership BS and quite frankly a rip off. When I told them both that "NO ONE" mentioned this product cost at NO point during a dozen email messages (I have all communications via email) they simply said - oh we add that to all of our cars. Also, that trim can be picked up at AutoZone for $20. Total and complete BS on Harbor Chevrolet. This is why people do not like dealing with dealership, especially those with questionable integrity. Also - and I'll confirm this with the VW dealer. The car was CPO'd at 17,000 miles by VW. On the Carfax report, it was noted that all four tires were replaced by VW. I've purchased several CPO VWs and know the process extremely well and know they install quality tires. Harbor Chevrolet received the car on a trade-in at 20K miles and likewise the Carfax showed all four tires were replaced by Harbor - within 3K miles? Here is what likely occurred (I'll need to contact VW for exact proof, so this is speculation base on my history purchasing cars). Yes, there were new tires on the car, but the brand currently on the car are Accelera - an absolutely low-grade tire that VW would never put on a CPO car. It is very likely the tires VW put on were removed by Harbor and replaced by a much cheaper brand (speculation). This too speaks to the integrity of the dealership in my opinion. I will continue to explore ways to be made whole from the last minute and undisclosed up-charge, and to ensure we protect consumers from bad business practices. This is why dealerships have a bad name and reputation, and why the shop at home business models is penetrating this space. read more

I just bought a 2022 Corvette C8 from them. Daniel in sales was super responsive, polite, well informed and made my process super easy. It was all done from my Woodland Hills home by text, email and calls so when I came down to Long Beach, all I needed was 15 minutes with them. They gave me a good interest rate on my loan. The C8 is very rare, but they worked with me for a decent price. There are not many Chevvy's over 6 digits! :) I am a guy who has had lots of exotic cars - porsche, mclaren etc. Usually I buy from porsche, euro car OC etc, so this was my first time with Chevvy - period. The C8 is truly a match for my 911 Turbo S or Mclaren 570S Spider, thats great from Chevrolet but the great purchase process with Daniel (sales) and Luis in finance and everyone was friendly there. Now, would I buy there again, 60 miles from my house when there are others closer? Yes, for a truck or Corvette for sure. read more

My wasted Sunday ---- I want to keep this short - so maybe I can help others from dealing with some people at this dealer. Looking for truck. I did some online search and found out there were two trucks that I was interested in. Called the dealer - Sal the sales guy was on the phone. Online price on these trucks was 34k. He told me, the price actually on both trucks was at 32k. I said great, can you please make an appointment for me. I want to come and buy one of those trucks. I also told him that I was driving long distance. Once we got there - the price on the truck that I was interested in was 35k - he said he is sorry and that he made a mistake. Lied to us to get us in, and maybe we'd buy something else. I like to deal with honest people - even though Sal knew I was driving long distance (about 60 miles) he did not care. The usual car salesman games. Just wanted to give warning to future buyers at this dealer. Very disappointed. My Sunday was gone by just driving back and forth and sitting and waiting to talk to Sal at the dealer. What a waste. read more

My pickup truck started having issues Tuesday February 13th, 2024. I dropped it off at the shop the next day Wednesday morning around 8am. Since I did not have an appointment, I was expecting them to tell me they would try to squeeze it in or that I needed to drop it off, standard procedure. I told the customer service rep I was okay with this and to give me a call once he knew something. I did not hear from him all day, so I decided to call by the end of the day and was informed what the issue was, and parts needed to be ordered, I again said okay please let me know once you have an ETA for the parts. I tried calling multiple times Thursday, left multiple messages with multiple customer service clerks, without any call backs. When I tried getting updates from other clerks, they couldn't provide me with an update because no notes had been entered in the system and only showed in progress. I was finally able to get a hold of the customer service clerk with my service ticket on Friday to find out they are still waiting on parts. It's now Monday February 19th 3:11pm and have not heard from my service clerk. I have been to Ford, and Toyota's service shop and have not experience this type of lack of customer service or communication. I just called at 3:20pm and was told they are still waiting on parts and my pickup truck should be ready by Tuesday. Thats close to a working week not including the weekend and the only thing I've been asking for is communication. I'm sure glad I have my Toyota pickup truck to get me around while my Chevy is at the shop, SMH. Update 2/21/24, it's now been a week of service and my pickup is not ready yet. This has been such a horrible experience with this shop. No communication, no urgency to get your car fixed, no customer concern to offer a loaner or even a rental, NOTHING. When I speak to my clerk he sounds bothered by my daily call, yes one call per day. I'll make sure to avoid this shop and dealership in the future. read more

This review is specifically regarding sales/car purchase at the dealership. Believe it or not, I've actually had a couple very good experiences at dealerships. My experience with Harbor Chevrolet was easily my best thus far though, and it is all thanks to Andrew Raya (my sales rep), and Lilia Amador (my finance manager). I purchased my brand new 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 Midnight Edition from Harbor Chevy yesterday (1/21/2019). From start to finish the experience was excellent... literally above and beyond. Here's how it went down... On 1/19/2019 (Saturday), I contacted Harbor Chevy to inquire about some trucks they had in inventory, and was assisted by Andrew Raya. He was very helpful and responsive via email and text, so I decided to set an appointment for later in the day for to check out 2 trucks and test drive. Andrew was super professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. What I appreciate most is that he wasnt pressuring me into a sale or trying to manipulate me- he was very honest and open with our conversation. I wasn't ready to buy that evening (as I mentioned, I only came to dealership to do initial research), but I left feeling that Harbor was going to be the dealership that I was going to buy a truck from. I was stuck between 2 different trucks (LT Z71 and LTZ Z71 Midnight), so I gave it couple days to think about which one I really wanted. A couple days later (1/21/2019), realized which one I wanted, so I got in touch with Andrew again, and we were able to agree on a deal. Thing is, deals/prices are never certain/locked-in until it's on paper... some dealerships will promise one thing just to get you in the door and then change the #/s or terms once your there and dealing with the paperwork. Not Harbor Chevy though, and that's what made me most happy above all else: what we had agreed on over the phone was actually honored when I came in person. There were no tricks, no finance jargon, no "calculation errors".... ALL the numbers were just what we had discussed on the phone before I even came back to dealership. And it was such a smooth and efficient process... while I made my way down from Pasadena to Long Beach, Andrew got started on as much as he could to expedite things. Once finance was ready with paper work, I was passed on to Lilia Amador (finance manager) to wrap it all up and finalize the deal. Just like with Andrew, I received top-notch service from Lilia: she was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. I have purchased several cars over the years... from franchise dealerships, mom n pops, and even CarMax. This was by far the quickest and smoothest and least stressful car buying experience I have had. I only worked with/talked with TWO people from the dealership (not counting the receptionist that greeted me haha), and for me thats not normal (I usually end up speaking with about 4 people total- 1 sales rep and several managers). Look, car buying (new or used) can be difficult and stressful, but if you do your research and know your stuff, you'll be okay. If you are in the market for a Chevy and want to have the best and most positive experience you possibly can, Harbor Chevy is the place to go. See Andrew Raya specifically. I came here to get a quote on some parts needed to fix my wife's car. The parts guy was hesitant to assist me. I did my best to explain what I needed and even provided pictures of the parts I took off the vehicle. I asked him if my oil cooler was serviceable and if I could change the gaskets between it and the oil adapter housing, he immediately responded with a no... Looking at the same screen I clearly see seals you can click on for part numbers between both these components... Moving on I started to ask for other parts and mentioned I needed a quote printed with part numbers and prices. He said no and it was their policy to not provide this information. Wtf?!? Are you serious? I am a mechanic for a living and I call countless shops and parts places and ask for part numbers all the time, this was the first time someone told me this. After speaking to the service manager on duty he explained they do not do this because people never return once they had this information. That's okay, I drove down to George Chevrolet, the parts guy there was able to navigate the same parts system and locate all my gaskets, Including the ones between the oil cool and oil adapter that I was told was not serviceable. I was given a printed quote so I can call my wife and double check funds in the account so I can make my purchase. If anyone needs part numbers on common oil/coolant leaks for the Chevy Cruze, see the picture! I'll gladly avoid this place, they don't want to help people. read more

As someone who has a habit of trading a car in as soon as it needs new tires, and grew up with a car salesman father, it's safe to say I've had my fair share of dealership experiences. For starters, I am a young woman who probably looks a little younger than she actually is, I don't always get taken too seriously when I walk into a dealership myself- that couldn't have been further from my experience here. I walked into multiple dealerships that month who would basically blow me off if they didn't have the car I was looking for on the lot, but Eddie took his time to find me exactly what I wanted and explain how the ordering process worked (this was my first time ordering a new car). I walked out with a deposit on a 2023 Trailblazer RS. My car arrived a month earlier than expected, and although there were some miscommunications on what I was putting down, Luis stepped in to make sure I still left with a deal that I was comfortable with. I appreciate the time everyone at this dealership took to make sure I left happy. This was my first time coming to this dealership, they staff were friendly and informative. I came in with a 10:30 am apt for an oil change, which was made on the same day, and was taken right in. It took them hours to change the oil, do a multi-point inspection and give me a basic car wash. While waiting for these three hours I was able to get more information on my car, like the interesting fact that I was driving around with the wrong set of tires. So I was able to have my specialist look up the right set of tires for me. We then went into conversation about buying new tries. Martha was informative about every tires I wanted to talk about, she was knowledgeable about why certain tires cost more. I ended up not buying my tires for there but I was glad she was able to sit and talk to me about my vehicle. Well they did a great job with my oil change. I recently went here to get my oil and transmission fluids change. I was helped right away by Garth who got my information and asked if I would be dropping off my vehicle or if I would be waiting. I told him I would wait but if it would take a couple hours or more since I had just gotten off of work. He told me it be about 2 hours or less. My total wait time was about an hour and half. Shady dealer I came here because it's a big dealer not the smalls dealer but when it comes to used cars they sale cars with known problems and they don't disclose them they will show u a paper saying so and so was repaired for example oil leaks they don't fix this is 100% they tried to sell me a used truck with a huge oil leak and when I called them out for it they said will see what we can do about it but mind u the truck said "as is" meaning u can't do nothing about it again they failed to disclose the oil leak and the damages around the body don't do business here for a used car they just want to get ride of the cars asap they even try to lower the price by 1k I literally walked away I'm glad i didn't do business here sorry not sorry for posting the people need to know another these practices read more

They give you the run around and give you false information. Felt like i was being scammed. Came in for 9:00 am appointed for an oil change. It has taken them 3hr to do a single oil. I understand it's the dealership but 3hr. That is unacceptable for any place. The oil bays are empty with no car for oil changes. Just to let you people know my car is a 2022 chevy traverse with less than 11000 miles so the car needs a nothing oil change and tire rotation. As I am writing this the time is 11:55 am and still no car or update. In my opinion, this is unacceptable. Hopefully, management looks into these long times in their service department. This would make anybody think twice about bringing their are in for service or doing any kind of future business with this dealership. Being service or buying a new car here. Sorry for the long post. Hello, all this is an up-from-experience today at the dealership. The dealership immediately reached out to me and apologize for the long wait and inconvenience. Well my wife and I went yesterday to get a new truck (SUV) a traverse to be precise, Salvador was our sells rep gotta tell ya he went above and beyond for us, treated us well, with respect in no way we felt like he was pushing us to buy something we didn't want, in that case he gave us 3 appraisals, he explained the whole process through and through, this is our second truck we buy from them and we couldn't be happier. The sales manager was helpful too, I mean the guy helped us save a little more with our bill, he explained the GAP, Tire, DuPont insurances I mean what can I say about this guys? I haven't had my car since April 2nd. It was stolen, recovered, and sent to this dealership to get repaired. We're going on 5 months now with no end in sight. The only body damages were a scratched rear bumper and some minor scuffs around the car. Mind you this was a brand new Camaro ZL1 that was garage kept, PPF and ceramic coated, washed weekly. In other words, a show ready car at all times. I decided to tow the car from the dealer to the bodyshop in order to get things moving while we wait on "parts" - because parts from Michigan need 5+ months to arrive but that's a different story. Once it arrives at the bodyshop I get a call to come down and assess the damages. When I went down there my heart sank. The car was beaten up, scratches everywhere, glue/sap residue everywhere, my PPF was torn in certain areas due to high levels of carelessness and abrasions. Basically my near 6 figure vehicle that was purchased brand new and looked show ready all the time looked like garbage. The bodyshop told me it was so bad that the only way to restore it how it was was to REPAINT THE WHOLE VEHICLE! I started to think if they treated it like this could they have driven it and beaten on it too? Who knows at this point. I call my service advisor extremely upset and he says he'll call me back. He did not. I called the owner of the dealer and left 2 voicemails. She did not respond to me either. At this point I feel defeated, upset, and angry. I sent the car to a dealership so that it could be taken care of. The exact opposite happened. They deserve 0 stars. DO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. Honestly worst dealership to ever go to. Got an appointment for august 23,2022 got a $300 invoice for a deep diagnosis since my engine overheated. Called Martha (service advisor) several times every single day and still did not get a definite response of my vehicle's problem. It's fine if they're busy, however I'm paying so much money just for an answer to my vehicles problem and it's taking more than three days to figure it out. All she said were assumptions. I don't have another spare car to drive therefore I'm paying more than needed to get one while waiting for their INDECISIVE answer. I just wish they could give me updates or a quick message or call.
