Good food, generous portions and nice place. Went with my family on a Friday for lunch. We ordered the churrasco platter, the gyro and my son got a hot cake (Mickey Mouse shape). Everything was delicious. The waitress was very nice and very attentive. The only bad thing about it is that if your party is not complete they will not seat you. We were mission one person and the hostess will not seat us. We even told her the other person was 15 min away she said "no" . My father in law ordered a coffee and then he needed sugar and asked for it to the hostess. The hostess I think got annoyed because he was ordering coffee then sugar and she decided to sit us down before the other person go there. I understand if half of the party is missing but one person. The restaurant wasn't even that busy. Overall good food and good served from the waitress. read more

Harry's is a long time institution. Years ago it was a very good lunch and dinner restaurant. Its building looked like a railroad dining car. One of my favorite dishes was fresh turkey and dressing with veggies. A nice memory! Today it's in a new building with a much different menu catering to a different type of customer. Its current menu is more refined aimed towards a more upscale customer. It's still good, especially the breakfast menu. The service is good and the prices are moderate. Give it a try. It's a good restaurant. read more

It's ok. If you're looking for an unpretentious breakfast spot then this is that. Service is very friendly. They have a nice patio. It's just the food isn't all that great. It's standard breakfast fare. There's some twists but nothing is robust with flavor. Larissa plate could be good, but most of the potatoes were undercooked and it was not exactly covered in feta as described. I've had the pancake omelette before and I did enjoy that. So I'd say things are hit or miss. read more

My husband , son and I had brunch yesterday at Harry's. If well the dishes were good, the coffee was pretty bad. I had a cup of decaf and my husband had a regular one. I am a coffee drinker and I can tell when coffee is burnt. When I told the waiter that, she didn't offer to change my cup, only my husband's which tasted better only after adding creamer. They shouldn't charged them at all! The place is pricey but the food is NOT light! We just couldn't eat dinner at all. It's a shame because I thought it was going to be a favorite, but we aren't going back. We don't think the food is worth the price. read more

The food is tasty, well presented and there is a good selection. I used to love it. I went back after about a year with friends and won't be back. Firstly, there's automatically an 18% gratuity on a table of 3 or more! And no split checks for more than 6 people - I understand this can be difficult but as a paying customer you're almost forcing us to leave your establishment and go elsewhere. I ended up paying over $17 for a small waffle and a coffee. The attitude of the staff was embarrassing with the greeter shouting at her servers in front of guests. read more

Harry's was a great experience! We went on a Monday before the Michigan v. Washington playoff, so it was very busy! The staff remained organized, friendly, and respectful. We got a table in less than 30 min. I ordered the breakfast croissant sandwich, it was the perfect balance between sweet and savory. Great brunch spot with impeccable service to delicious food! Our first time here. We entered a waitlist using Yelp and was texted when the table was ready. Very efficient and set great expectations on timing. Parking was limited to a small lot to street parking. They serve water in stainless steel cups and it kept my water nice and cold. We had a friendly waitress and hostess, set the tone of our amazing experience. I ordered the cappacino and used a milk substitute - Almond and Oat were available. I also requested sugar free mocha. The milk had a perfect temperature, not to hot not to cold - warm! It was steamed and fluffy like foam on top with a beautiful heart. Yummy! My husband and son ordered a 16 oz orange juice that was freshly squeezed. They had a juicer at the bar that cranked out large volumes of orange juice rather quick. Genius! The food was quick from order, so glad because I was extra hungry when I saw all the food around me. I have an egg allergy and it seemed like every dish had an egg in or on it. No worries, because I found a fee options to strike my fancy. I ordered the oatmeal. I omitted the raisins and opted for blueberries. Warmed my heart and soul for sure. The staff was helpful with our entire table and I saw plenty of smiles. Despite how busy it was everyone seems calm, cool and collective. This is definitely a well ran establishment. read more

This place never disappoints! Their grilled biscuits are amazing, and their fried chicken is extremely crispy and juicy. All their portions sizes are astoundingly large, so you get a bang for your buck. Their poached eggs have always been perfectly cooked. They have ample seating, ample parking, and a pleasant atmosphere. It is always clean, as well. This is our go-to spot for breakfast and brunch! read more

Amazing breakfast! I had the veggie omelet with hash browns and a biscuit. The biscuit was fluffy, warm, and sweet. The omelet was very large and cooked nicely, it wasnt overdone or soggy from the veggies inside. The hashbrowns were also cooked well, not underdone and crispy on top. Large portion (this is coming from an athlete) for very hungry people. Also had chai latte which was very good- better than Starbucks. Also provided is butter and raspberry(?) jam. Well, we finally got to eat at Harry's! The wait can make you not want to stay but go early is my suggestion The food was good and our waitres Delayne was very nice. OK the food- I had the spicy fried chicken, hash browns, egg to my liking and a big homemade biscuit. It look great and the taste did not disappoint! I had a mocha and it looked beautiful My papi aka Jose lol he had the Salvadorian Popusa Mañanera. It was good!! Suggestion he would like for restaurant to consider is adding refried beans, a side of crema and queso fresco to taste. This would make it a more complete dish. Instead of a la cart refried beans. Houston's staple brunch, I personally think it's better and worth the wait than T** nearby. My comfort pick are the Baklava french toast (+ side of banana), Spicy fried chicken plate/ waffle, and their fresh OJ. Tips: + Come before 9 so you don't have to wait in line during weekends. + Ask for a cup of ice if your orange juice is too sweet for your taste + Their Greek style yogurt ice cream tastes like frozen Vietnamese yogurt. This is a hand down go to spot when you want a delicious and authentic breakfast or brunch. I've been going here for 5+ years and they have never let me down. Be prepared on the weekends for a long wait especially after 11am or once church gets out on Sundays. But if you get there early enough even on the weekends you will be seated immediately or within 10 minutes. Once you're in you're greeted by friendly faces and a beautiful modern layout with laid back vibes and good lighting. To start off they have really good fresh pressed orange juice as well as cool lattes with foam art! They also have pretty tasty and strong alcoholic beverages if you're looking to start the day early. As for the food you literally cannot go wrong with any choice. Even the vegan pupusas were amazing! I personally love their thick hefty pancakes that you can fill with just about anything from chocolate chips to nuts and berries. Their jalapeño sausage gravy and biscuits are also really good as is the chicken and biscuits or chicken and waffles. They also make a mean omelette and they use real eggs not liquid eggs as well as quality meats that never disappoint. I've almost tried their whole menu by now and every time I go I still have a hard time deciding what I want to eat because it's all too good. Seriously! Go ahead and give this spot a chance, it might just change your brunch life forever! The wait was well worth it. The food and ambience were well paired. Can't go wrong with any of the drinks. I had the Spiced Pear Toddy. Stacey our server was so attentive and made the experience that much better. The jalapeño sausage gravy and biscuits, next level! I heard many good things about this place but man, it failed to deliver. I don't know if it's because we went during a busy time (around 11 am) on a Saturday, but the food was definitely NOT IT. Look at Yelp vs. Google reviews. We should've listened to the Yelp reviews. For starters, the service was ok. Our waitress was extremely nice, but we never got our water refilled our entire stay. Food came out kind of quick despite the number of people there, and we waited 50 minutes for a table for 2. The food was extremely disappointing. I got an iced caramel latte, and usually, I know the coffee is good if I don't have to add sugar. Let's just say I didn't finish it. Very bland and tasted like it was sitting out since they opened. Hot chocolate was... "mehh," especially after trying house of pies hot coco. The eggs were scrambled and left on the plate. It was very bland and needed to be doused in ketchup or hot sauce. The hash browns were greasy af but ok. The bacon was good, the biscuit was good, and the chicken sausage was pretty good. Now, that was the absolute worst waffle I've ever had. It was dry, flavorless, and it was squishy. I like my waffles with a bit of a crisp, as does my fiancée and it just crumbles to pieces. 90% of that waffle stayed on that plate. My fiancée only ate her bacon, and the rest unfortunately went to the trash. The fried chicken was "ok," but let's be real. Max's wine dive and breakfast klub have spoiled me, I guess. My fiancée and I will definitely not be back, nor can I recommend this place to my fellow foodies. read more

We ended up at Harry's Saturday afternoon since the wait was not as long as some of the other popular brunch spots. Service was really good, we requested a seat on the patio thinking that they had at least some form of air circulating but to our surprise the fans weren't connected yet since they just redid all of the electrical wiring. Thankfully we managed to eat and leave before we were drenched in sweat. Although, I'm sure the vanilla latte that I started with did not help, so I quickly ordered a frozen margarita afterwards to balance it all out! LOL. The food was really good, great portions and filling. We also had the grilled biscuits since they were recommended by our waiter and with the butter on top, man were they tasty!! This place is blessed! It's open, airy, and simple. My favorite thing about this place is that most of their dishes come with a gluten free option. The cuisine is American, homestyle breakfast. Simple yet, satisfying. I recommend the Chai latte and the breakfast croissant with a avocado added. read more

One star for the Hibiscus Tea .... On 11/2 Me and two of my girlfriends decided to have breakfast here and boy do we regret it! Yes today is Saturday, but they were NOT busy when we arrived! We ordered 3 teas and our food. The tea came out fast but the food took over an hour TO GET and EVERYTHING was cold! The waitress poorly attended our table as we sat in disbelief at the poor service and COLD FOOD! We finally see our waitress and as I told her about the food she then offered to put it into the microwave to "WARM IT UP"! I said you will certainly not and she said let me go get a manger! About 10 minutes later but very close to our table our server was talking to a short older guy with a hat on and he looked pissed! The short guy (who we later found out and was told was the owner) came over and said what seems to be the problem? As I begin to tell him he rudely interrupted me and seemed to be very dismayed that there was fault with what had come out of the kitchen.... He then said well she offered to warm it up! I said sir do you want to listen to me explain or do you want to talk over me? I then decided to say sir I don't want anything warmed up it will turn to dust! He then said well fine I'll take it off and just charge you for the tea and stormed off! DON'T COME HERE IF YOU ARE BLACK! We definitely weren't welcome and it showed from the awful customer service and states! read more

Yes there is a waiting list be prepare to wait or schedule booking in advance. Place closes early. I was impress on the flavors. I had the Chilaquiles. They are full of spice and a crunch in every bite. Coffee was being refilled on the spot, very attentive servers. Delicious!! read more

Friendly enough waitstaff but restaurant ethos is a little odd (see hostess stand sign, I failed to get a picture) especially since it wasn't adhered to. Food was bland (hash browns, pancakes and sausage) and not evenly cooked (fried chicken, banana pancakes and sausage patties). It's a great place for people who like to eat food that doesn't taste like anything or that love adding condiments (salt, pepper, hot sauce and ketchup) which were readily offered and brought to the table even when we declined prior to the food arrival. Not so great otherwise. read more

My family and I were looking for brunch spots after church and came across Harry's and decided to try it out. Jas was our server, and she was amazing and very accommodating! The food was okay. We did have one issue with the sausage crossiant. It had too much cheese on the sandwich and caused my daughter to feel nauseous. This was brought to management's attention to see if there was an alternative to remake the sandwhich WITHOUT cheese or getting some resolution. The manager on duty said there was nothing to be done. For this establishment to have rules about respect and behavior in the restaurant, the manager lacked the decency to even come to the table to address us personally and make sure everything was okay. The only reason this is a 3 star review is because of our server because she tried to do everything she could even though she had no support from her manager. read more

Pretty good breakfast/lunch place! Came here on a Saturday morning with a group of 5. We were told a 20-25 minute wait (def recommend getting on the waitlist beforehand), and it ended up being a bit of a longer wait. As far as food, my spicy chicken and waffle were good! The chicken was not as spicy as I would've liked, and the waffle wasn't as crispy as I expected. But still really good and had some leftover since it's a pretty big portion. I also had a mocha that you can never go wrong with. My friends all had different things but all seemed to come in super big portions! Overall service was good, our waitress was super nice and made sure everything was perfect for us! Parking can be a struggle if you don't get there super early. There is a small lot that gets full quick and the street parking around can also get chaotic. Other than the wait and parking, Harry's is a nice breakfast place. Definitely will come back to try other dishes. read more

Lone Star Review: Omelettes and micro-aggressions As a group of healthcare professionals coming off a long night shift, we were looking forward to a good breakfast and some much-needed hospitality. Unfortunately, our experience at Harry's was anything but welcoming. Despite there being plenty of available seating in the main dining area, we were escorted to a secluded room at the back of the restaurant. At first, we didn't think much of it -- until we noticed a disturbing pattern: all the patrons in this back room were people of color, while white guests were seated in the main area. The optics were undeniable and troubling. To make matters worse, our server was incredibly rude and dismissive. We were interrupted every few minutes with, "Are you done yet?" -- even as we were clearly still eating. This created a rushed and uncomfortable atmosphere, as if we were being pushed out before we could even enjoy our meal. Once we finally finished, we were quickly ushered out without a word of thanks or basic courtesy. As Black professionals who serve the public every day, it was disheartening to feel so disrespected and unwelcome in a space where we simply came to eat. Discrimination -- whether subtle or overt -- has no place in the service industry or anywhere else. I hope management at Harry's takes this feedback seriously and reflects on how their seating policies and staff behavior impact their diverse customers. We deserve better, and so does every guest who walks through those doors. read more

After leaving church on Sunday yesterday May 16, 2021 and driving for 35 minutes in the rain along with fighting construction and traffic in the parking lot of Harry's restaurant the following disappointment: As I was walking up past a crowded group of people half with masks on half without half under their chin half under their nose half around the ear I walked in only to be told you need to put your mask on, I said I don't have one With me and immediately I have the hostess open her drawer pull out a mask with her hand put her two fingers together attempted hand it to me "that is a $1.50 for each mask" I told her no thank you I don't need to do business here and spend my money." I understand everyone's got their prerogative but to look around and watch 80% of the people not wearing a mask or not properly wearing a mask and a hand a Mask from a drawer made no sense to me and then asked for $1.50. You just lost at least $250 as people are trying to get out of their cars to come in with our group plus the referral that sent me which I told him I've never go here again. If you want people to wear a mask and that your establishment requires then provide one. It's like asking for silverware that I have to provide in order to eat. read more

The servers were so polite and on it. As for the OWNER, very rude and racist. And I'm not pulling that race card rn. My friend and I walked in for brunch, she started by not even greeting us. But looking us up and down, then says scan code. She proceeded to seat us immediately right behind her. Mind the dining area is completely open. My friend and I sat there and watched how she not only turned down an all black family, but talked so I'll about them to another "yt" customer. 2 black women walked in with fairly similar outfits on as my friend and I . She looked them up and down and went to turn them away, the women pointed at us in response to the similar outfits. The owner turned around to us and rolled her eyes, scoffed at them then abruptly seated them. A group of "yt" women came in right behind them, with ease she greeted them, handed them menus and sat them. The last woman's breast were large an they were hanging out of her shirt. No one made a fuss about that. When we addressed the waitress, she tried to defend the owner. Then instantly showed on her face that yeah we're right. I once wondered what was going on with this place and why I never would see it open. Today I had brunch at this place and now I see why I could think it wasn't open. The food was not what I expected from what my buddies have raves about this place. The chicken and waffle at this place was horrible. Waffle dry and chicken not well seasoned. I know I should of gone to The Breakfast Klub for my chicken and waffles, but wanted to try this spot out. To top it off, with my dry waffle, the waitress only came to the table once and never ever ever came back to refill my drink. I was choking and she didn't give a flying monkey. ZERO STARS! HOST IS BEYOND RUDE!!!!!! Online reservation is meaningless as they DO NOT hold it. Lie about calling you. Believe they're anti-Semitic and intentionally gave our table away because of our name. A little bit of power gone awry with a minuscule man. I certainly will "do better". Next time, I will choose a restaurant that actually states the reservation hold time as well one that doesn't require a police officer manning the door. So we pulled up and the parking lot was completely packed. We went inside and luckily we didn't have a long wait. Our waiters seemed to be handling too many tables, because it took a while just to get our drinks. We knew what we wanted to order right away so I think that helped. Oh Harry's--what a place it used to be! Remember those omelettes, piled high with feta? The portions were huge, almost too much to finish. Now, though, they've trimmed it down a bit. One thing I'll keep in mind is that they will not see you until at least three people from your party has arrived. Apparently, my friend had reserved a space in the back car the hideout. I think you could only reserve that area if you do it in advance. It's definitely worth it because it's a nice little chill spot in the back of the restaurant and it feels more intimate. The one downside is that it doesn't have lifted tables so you do feel like as if you're eating over a coffee table of some sort. Our server was Noah and he was phenomenal! I had an idea of what I wanted because I looked at the menu prior to arriving. Although some things had changed from it. I opted for the avocado toast as a lot of the meals felt really heavy. I am glad that I did because it was the perfect amount of food and it was very flavorful. The bacon really made it pop! I still think about it to this day. Now the one thing I will point out that is a bit annoying is that if your party spends over, I want to say $150 (or maybe it was $250) they add a 18% gratuity to your bill. That wasn't the problem that I had. As I knew that from looking at the menu. My problem was that they don't bring you a printed receipt and just bring the terminal without informing you that they are essentially trying to sneak an additional tip on top of the one they have added. So that's just something for those to be mindful of as it is not based on how many people are in the party, but the amount of money that the party spends. Nonetheless I would return especially for their sound lounge event because it sounds really chill and dope.

There was street parking but I was coming with a baby so unloading the stroller on the street was a no for me. There was a garage and supposedly valet parking. Seating: There were 2 tops, 4 tops, and booths. They also had high chairs. They did let us pull the stroller up to a table for my little guy to sit . My biggest complaint would definitely be the acoustics. It is loud inside, and this had nothing to do with the live music outside. Even our server mentioned she had lost her voice from having to speak so loudly over the noise. Overall, I really enjoyed the vibe and energy, and it's in a neat area of east Houston that seems to be developing quite a bit. I'd definitely go back and give it another try, especially to explore a few different dishes.

Our server was pleasant enough, but did not seem to care for our table and was more interested in talking with other staff off to the side. Due to the weekend turnout, the food took quite a while to come out (45 minutes or so) and with very little update from anyone. We got the burrata brunch appetizer, chilaquiles, and salmon avocado toast. The Avocado toast took another 10 minutes to come out after everything else did with the reason being "we're still plating it". I'm no chef, but I wasn't exactly impressed with the plating of salmon tossed haphazardly onto the toast and plate. Taste for everything was just "okay" despite touting farm fresh ingredients and everything being made "in-house". The others at my table had a slightly better experience with their dishes, but overall it was a bit of a letdown (despite how good things looked in the photos). I wouldn't be so critical if it weren't for the fact there are so many other great restaurants in the area and in Houston as well. Maybe it was just a busy day and I would be open to giving it another shot, but ultimately, I would try somewhere else if I wanted a cozy brunch spot. Again, I did enjoy the milk and cookies and pastries courtesy of the adjoining bakery, but the actual brunch service could use some work.

What bothered me was how the chef/owner handled it. He came to my table and proceeded to tell me that what I was tasting wasn't cilantro. He insisted that I was either tasting the microgreens or green onion. I know what cilantro tastes like. I certainly know the difference between cilantro, green onion and microgreens. Instead of simply acknowledging that something could have happened in the kitchen, he spoke to me as though I didn't understand what I was tasting. Eventually, I just agreed with him because I wanted the conversation to end and wanted him away from my table. I wasn't agreeing because I suddenly believed I had mistaken green onion or microgreens for cilantro. I simply had no interest in continuing to argue with the chef/owner over what I had personally tasted in my own food. I have no interest in engaging with a man who acts like that and wants to argue. A much more professional response would have been, "I'm sorry about that. We'll replace it." That would have been the end of the matter. Instead, a minor and completely understandable kitchen mistake became an uncomfortable interaction because of the way it was handled. Food mistakes happen. I don't expect perfection. But I do expect to be treated respectfully rather than patronized and argued with over something as simple as cilantro. Unfortunately, the way the situation was handled is what left the lasting impression.Definitely not coming back. This was my third and final visit here.
