I ordered the strawberry matcha latte and green grape yogurt cake slice which were both super delicious! One slice of cake was $14. Because of that I will be giving the place a 4/5 but everything else was amazing! Their soosoo latte is the best I've had anywhere! The corn cream is not too sweet and interlaced with espresso, the house made corn ice cream adds an additional dimension of corn flavor. The soosoo hojicha also had corn cream and corn ice cream but it was too sweet at the bottom so I would get it half sweet next time! It's also much bigger than the lattes. Strawberry cream scone is like a shortcake and the cream is good and the scone was tender and soft. Corn egg tart was more sweet than savory and had a texture like a quiche. The bad: I liked the cakes with more texture inside because the ultra softness of everything felt boring after eating a ton of cake. I think that's why the grape was my favorite (nice crunch!). This was the yummiest cake shop that I have stumbled on by accident. I happened to be walking around Koreatown and passed a person carrying a box cake from this establishment. I asked them where they purchased it, and they pointed me in this direction. Cakes and desserts inside were simply stunning. I had to get the soo soo latte that is their most popular drink! The cake I got was also incredible! I had something similar in Korea this past winter and it just has such a great balance of sweetness and textures with the crunch on top and the chewy injeolmi within the cake! The staff was really sweet and they take such great care to explain the best way to experience their drinks! I did have to wait a little bit for my coffee and cake, but I think that was the staff taking immense care for each order! The cake designs were really cute but the base of all cake slices were sponge cake, it was quite dry and without the flavors of the chocolate and mocha-- I don't think it would be tasty at all. Was craving some dessert, so of course I had to check out Harucake! FLAVOR (4.2/5): 1. CHOCOLATE EARL GREY: I stopped by later in the evening so by that time a lot of their cakes were already sold out (there was some sort of promotion going on). I wanted to try the Strawberry Milk Cream and Green Grape Yogurt, but I settled on the Chocolate Earl Grey instead. The Chocolate Earl Grey was interesting - not too sweet, and it had crunchy chocolate bits scattered throughout. I wish I could taste more of the Earl Grey - it felt like the chocolate overpowered it. 2. OREO CREAM: The oreo cream was delicious! Light, not too heavy, and not too sweet (which I think can be said of all their cakes). 3. DUBAI MOCHI: They recommend heating up the mochi for a little bit in the microwave, which we did. I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure it's worth the price tag. 4. BANANA MATCHA CLOUD: Good quality matcha that's well-blended. As far as banana matcha goes, it's pretty good, although my personal favorite is still Calic Bagel's for the texture. PARKING (2/5): There's valet lot parking, but I managed to snag street parking. I think you're paying higher prices for the specific experience of the cafe and the look of the food. You can definitely recognize the effort they put behind their pastries and beverages. The corn latte was good but nothing special except for the realistic corn cob made of corn ice cream they use on of top the drink. Their scones are a little on the harder side.
