The food here is good and consistent. Good alternative to a fast food chain. Decent variety, moderate prices and good service.

The food used to be a lot better here. I understand inflation hurts us all but, the pastrami has risen in price and lowered in quality. You can clearly see that there is about half as much pastrami in the sandwich now as a few years ago. Check the pictures and judge for yourself. Also I continually have it delivered incorrectly on postmates. Perhaps add an option to remove items like mustard and pickles. Because someone obviously doesn't read the notes. read more

Came here because we were in the area and having a jones for a burger. Nice mom and pop local business. Simple, no frills decor. But clean and pleasant. I had the bacon cheeseburger, wife had the Cali burger. Cooked well, overall a decent, slightly above average, burger. Would have liked if they steamed the bun or if the patty was cooked to order (I. Well. Interesting experience tonight. Walked in 20 minutes to closing time. Looking over the menu for a couple minutes. Nice menu. Clean place. Ready to order and they let us know that we couldn't eat in the dining room because it was 20 minutes to closing. Bad customer service. It was just me and my wife. So, we walked out. Decided to have dinner somewhere else. There are plenty of hamburger places that will happily let us eat in their dining room 20 minutes before closing. Bathroom was clean, Workers didn't seem happy, but also weren't off putting but we are here for the food so, half decent burger, the pastrami tasted good, chilli cheese fries are decent also, it's not terrible or really anything to complain about, safe to give a try but I wouldn't eat here again just not my preference! read more

This place was everything I wanted and expected from a smaller burger joint. I got the haven burger combo which was very filling. Their menu is extensive with different burger, salad, burrito, sandwich options. Fries were mediocre but the burger was tasty! Next time I would just get a normal burger, not the biggest fan of the pastrami. Came around 3pm and the place was packed inside but no line. read more

This place is as close as you'll get to a Los Angeles Southern California style cheeseburger in all of AZ. I haven't had a burger that reminded me so much of home, until I popped in here with my lady. She loved it as well and doesn't eat burgers much. I hope they continue to prosper. I took my sister here a few days ago, and she agreed, they're as close as it gets to Southern California style. Highly recommend. It was very great smelling coming in the door!! First time here and the service was wonderful. We ended up order just three meals because we split one for the kids, and the very sweet man behind the counter gave us two cups instead of one lg so the kids wouldn't fight and even had them split their burger to make it easy! Super friendly atmosphere and very family friendly!!! I got the tuna melt and it was delicious!! The boyfriend got their haven burger and says he'll never have another burger the same! Thank you !!! My husband and I were excited to have found this spot since we have been searching for a place that serves pastrami chili fries. The sign outside said "California style" and we thought hm maybe they have the same style as our favorite place in Cali! But nope! We ordered the "California fries" which is supposed to be pastrami chili cheese fries and a pastrami sandwich. I was pretty disappointed with the pastrami chili fries. The pastrami should've been grilled/cooked more, the fries weren't as crispy and felt that their was less effort put into it compared to the pastrami sandwich we got. We have been searching for a good pastrami sandwich in AZ, like we used to get at the diner close to our house in California growing up. We've found a few good places with their own spin on pastrami , but nothing spot on like home. This place is it! I decided to go past the Mesa Farmers Market Saturday and this place caught my eye with "California Style" on the window. I decided to try it out for lunch, not expecting too much. This place reminds me of home. The pastrami is so tasty, made just the way I remember with mustard and pickles and wrapped right in yellow paper! The fries were crispy & perfect. I got my order to go and it was ready in minutes. I overheard the owner (? Not sure) telling another customer that they make their own fried zucchini & onion rings...so I will definitely be back. I look forward to getting my family to come here too! The inside is small, just a handful of tables, and I'm sure when it gets busy, it's hard to maneuver around. So if you get anxious in small tight places like me, plan on going in an "off" time to avoid crowds. read more

Great find in the area! I was at the park for a birthday party and (since hosts had pizza and donuts for food and I am going dairy free at the moment), I decided to grab a burger from the closest place to the park and found Haven. It's right across the street from the park on Main so I only had to walk for about 7 minutes from where the gathering for the birthday party was. The place is clean and the food was ready very quickly. I took it back to the park to eat it so did not dine in however, I did use the bathroom while I was waiting for my food and the bathroom was also clean. Something to note, there is a clear sign at the door that says, no public bathrooms. I guess too many people who were just visiting the park may have attempted to use their bathrooms. I ordered a double burger meal no cheese. It came out to around $10+. The burgers are cooked fresh to order and they add a sauce with delicious spices to the burger, it made it taste really good. The fries were also pretty good. I saw a sign at the restaurant that said that you only get one refill for your soda and you pay additional for a second round. They have TVs that were playing sports and have flags and signs in the restaurant as well as helmets as decoration to support certain teams. A good tasting burger for a good price. Did not have the opportunity to dine here. We were looking forward to eating a burger today and stopped at Haven Burgers. Had heard that the burgers were good and as we were out running errands in Mesa we thought we would try them. Noted that the place closed at 4 pm. We arrived at 3:20 and went to the counter to order only to be told we couldn't eat in the restaurant and would have to take our order to go as they were closing at 4. There were other diners in the restaurant eating and I felt that we would surely be done eating before 4. I stopped in for a basic burger, saw that 90% of Yelpers were raving about the pastrami and ended up talking myself into a burger WITH pastrami on top. Talk about some special kind of awesome. The place is small, busy and reasonably priced. As far as service, well if you didn't grow up east if the Mississippi you might call it rude, which means you would never make it past the front door of Chicago's famed Billy Goat Tavern. No it's not rude, it's just the east coast no BS way of doing things. If you require fake smiles and attitudes just don't come here looking for love. BTW the fries are great too. read more

Anytime I'm craving some hometown style burgers that I grew up with in SoCal, I come to Haven. Quality meats, portions, and pastrami is delicious. Even tried the pastrami quesadilla and it slaps. My go to is the Haven combo with fried zucchini (which I think they make in house cause it's addictingly good). Side of ranch and chili peppers, I'm a happy man. read more
