Got sick eating here with my husband. The food was low quality and the service was lacking. Save yourself the $100 lunch date and don't be deceived by the reviews. Upon entering the establishment the smell of the space was not pleasant. The host advised of the menu options and convinced us to get the premium option which was not worth it since we didn't make it past the first round. We both felt sick but figured we may have over eaten but that was not the case, since we had leftover pieces that we got charged $1 a piece for. It's been over two days and still throwing up nori. The rice tasted funny and the sushi cuts looked like scraps. The waitress never came to pick up the check or give us refills on our drinks and even offered sauces that she forgot to bring and then offered it again only to bring it close to finishing the meal. Gave this place a chance and regret it. read more

The server was great!! Her name was Kim. She was super attentive. Very bubbly and humble. Made us feel very comfortable. Now the food- Tempura was great. Nice and freshly made no old oil. Didn't hurt my stomach. Dragon baked Scallop thing was a complete mess. Failure. Not that tasty or well put together. I've had it from other places and this one wasn't enjoyable. Only had a few bites. The eel roll was great. Good flavor, tightly wrapped. Tempura roll was too big and thinly sliced. With not enough tempura. Roll fell apart easily. Edemame was plain but good. My husband and I were looking for a place to eat since we had been on the road for a while heading to Anaheim. We found this 24-hour sushi spot in Fullerton and we immediately liked the vibe as soon as we walked in. It's located in the middle of town, so a lot of young college students frequent this establishment, but we didn't mind. The music they were playing was good and the staff were friendly and warm. It wasn't the best sushi I've ever had, but it was definitely worth the price. There's three separate options for 'all you can eat,' and my husband and I chose the second option, which was $39.95 for select items on the lunch and dinner menu. ***PLEASE READ*** DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THE 4-5 STAR RATINGS LIKE WE WERE !!!!!!! We were in the mood for sushi and decided to go to Hello Sushi since it was so close in our area with a 4.3 star rating! Thousands of great reviews! Nothing could go wrong, right? I wish I had read more into the reviews and seen the one star ones.. I feel like they're definitely more true to our experience.. First walking in, there was no one at the register to greet or help us. We ended up standing around for at least 10 minutes until we were tended to. Looked like there was only 1 server who was also bussing and hosting, 2 chefs, and a mostly empty restaurant.. The chefs saw us and made no effort to let anyone know that we had been waiting to be seated.. We were just about to leave to another spot until the server noticed us, and now I REALLY WISH we had left. The eel we ordered was old and hard as a rock. All the uni nigiri was an odd, dark color.. And tasted like it had been sitting out for awhile at least.. A lot of what we ordered, especially the scallop and blue fin tuna, was VERY fishy and old.. If you know the difference between good, high quality fish, you'll know you won't find it here. If you take away anything from this review, please let it be: GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Have been visiting this spot a few times and came back with some friends! The sushi here is absolutely delicious, great quality and price all around, the sever Erika was very attentive, quickly got us what we needed and very knowledgeable of the menu! She's absolutely awesome and so was the guys behind the sushi counter :). I definitely recommend this place. Wow what an incredible ambiance! This feels like a trip to modern Japanese market or fun restaurant. I live the lighting and k-pop bumping in the background. They have both all you can eat and à la carte options. It's not the best quality sushi, but it is good and makes for a fun time. Absolutely delicious food! All other AYCE places have abominable wait times...1-2 hours on weekends as we all know. Walked in here on a Saturday night and was seated immediately! Greeted by such personable and great hostesses, I knew we stumbled upon something great. The food was incredible. I'd definitely recommend getting the OMG Roll, Flower Roll, or Giant Salmon Roll as those were some of our favorites. Food came out very swiftly and the servers were always very attentive and hospitable. I love the decorations of this restaurant and the layout was very cute and fun! This was some of the worst sushi I've ever had. The fish did not taste fresh, and there was an overwhelming amount of rice in nearly everything. I was especially disappointed because the restaurant had such high reviews, so I came in expecting a much better experience. Instead, the meal completely ruined my appetite and left me feeling sick toward the end. I couldn't even finish my food and had to ask for the check immediately. Sushi was solid in general. I've gone to a good number of AYCE places and it's rare to find any place that's notably better than the others. The service however was by far the best I've gotten in a while for any kind of restaurant. They were very attentive but without being intrusive. Plates cleared quickly, food came out at a good pace, they answered questions clearly, and they have big water cups so I don't need refills all the time. It was great! The place itself is also clean and neat. They have music playing but it's not too loud where you can't still talk. A lot of their booths are setup to feel isolated and more private. I prefer this to many of the normal, open restaurant patterns. 10/10 will be back again. It was also $32 for the lunch menu, which even applied on the weekend, which is a reasonable for what I see in the area these days. read more

Nope. In fact on Weekends they charge dinner prices. Haven't been back to Hello Sushi since we found the great place in San Diego. Also some of their employees don't wear face masks as you can see my previous Yelp review regarding this!!

He said it was wrong what they're doing to me but ultimately this place was going back on what they should do to make it right. I didn't make a scene or argue, I opted to never come back. I think things like this show the character of an establishment and it is what it is.

They were simply perfect! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take a picture because they came out last and we couldn't wait to dig in. We will definitely be coming back soon!

First, the BOGO deal is awesome. There are happy hour deals, but we rarely get there in time to take advantage. It's just a bit of a drive for us to get there early enough. Second, the Chefs!!! Go to any sushi joint you want... you've got ONE chef slinging fish, totally backed up, trying his best to keep pace, and all the while losing attention to detail and presentation. CRnS always has 3 sometimes 4 Chef's behind the line. The result is faster service.... Of course.... But presentations that are almost too pretty to eat... but, it's sushi, so we eat them anyway. And third, the servers.... They are pretty consistent....There are not new servers every other week like some lesser joints. You get familiar with them and they get familiar you. Interestingly, this restaurant is also mentioned in the Michelin Guide. I believe this is due to the quality of the rolls. The tuna tasted amazingly refreshing. I liked the California rolls too. For the quality served, they were decently priced. I'm sure more premium items would taste delicious. Walking inside is like entering a small traditional izakaya densely packed with Japanese decor. The restaurant is usually busy with only one or a couple servers accommodating everyone. Sitting at the sushi bar is convenient as the chefs can serve orders themselves. I wouldn't go here if I was in a rush due to the restaurant's popularity. The parking situation is fine, but make sure to use the bigger lot sectioned off from the restaurants.

They have some parking right at the front but I know that plaza can get very busy specially for breakfast time so not a problem for sushi. They have a few offers on the signs outside for lunch menu and a different Omakase. My boyfriend really wanted to try the luxury Omakase since it included a lot of courses and we were hungry. The staff were really friendly and we got sat on the bar. They have some table tables and then they have the large bar area. They have a very modern clean feel and it is family friendly. They do offer some alcohol. I noticed the refrigerator with look like sake and other alcohol. We decided to order draft beer and the luxury omakase. We were warned that they were a lot of dishes, but we were up for a challenge. I will say that the pricetag of $105 is definitely worth it. This is now my number one sushi spot in the area no doubt about it. Every single piece was delicious. The chef will prepare the piece and put them on the top of the bar for us to grab. My absolute favourite one was the sear black cod it would melt on your mouth. We will definitely be back for the omakase and we are also curious of trying the regular menu. As for the food, it was everything an omakase needs: flavor, consistency, and freshness. Each piece had its own story and it was expressed the only way each respective fish could be expressed. I always go in thinking I'm going to stay hungry by the end, but I am always proven wrong. For the price, I think this experience was well worth it. Arriving at 8:55 p.m., a full hour before closing time at 10:00 p.m., we were promptly seated by our waiter. Immediately, we were informed that despite being an AYCE establishment, we could only order a la carte. The reason provided was puzzling: apparently, due to having only one chef on duty, ordering a la carte would ensure our meals arrived promptly without delay. This explanation seemed illogical to me since we would have ordered the same amount of food regardless of the serving method. Disheartened by this unexpected restriction and feeling unwelcome due to the rushed explanation, we made the decision to leave. It's disappointing that such a crucial detail like the change in service format was not disclosed anywhere until we sat down. Transparency about such operational changes is essential for managing customer expectations and ensuring a positive dining experience. Overall, our first impression of this place was marred by this lack of clarity and the unusual service policy we encountered. Yesterday , on Wednesday April 13, 2022. I went to hello sushi, Fullerton for dinner with my girlfriend. This is her first time trying sushi. This is the first time happens to me in the same night i got bad experience from hello sushi. 1. Dirty plate was served to me 2. I order ice water for my drink. As i finished half of my drink, i found a sponge left inside my cup. It was white sponge. So i requested for new cup and new drink. All i got just an apology from server. I have been to this restaurant for years. And this is the first time i experience. In this situation usually, the manager should come to table to apologize and offer something in the house or maybe at least a discount on the check. But i did not have the manager come to the table for apology. Nor compensation...for bad experience i got from the restaurant. Other than that .. everything else is good. Once we arrived, the waiter was ready to seat us down so there is no waiting time. Plus, we are talking about a saturday here so that already was excellent! As a sushi lover the food was OK. I've eaten better at smaller places, for less money. But thats besides the point. The point is I was in a party of 9 and our service was good until the food came out. But becuase they automatically charge you 18% gratuity fee it felt like they no longer needed to do a follow up to see how everything was for us. Once food was delivered we no longer saw anyone. We wanted to order more food and ask for refills but after about 45 minutes of waiting we just decided to pay and leave. We walked up to the front to ask for the check and the employees were just standing at the front talking. My first experience there was not well enough for me to return. As a former employee DO NOT EAT HERE. They fill old ginger buckets with ice, wait for the ice to melt and scoop them to serve water. Sometimes will fill a large clear container with water that gets cross contaminated when people wash their hands. Their random cups are usually mouth side down on a rusted counter top. Never fully dry. It's absolutely disgusting inside the kitchen. There's dried food everywhere and I don't think they've ever once cleaned any corner of their establishment. This "mom and pop" style aesthetic they have is super unclean for a place to serve raw fish. People buy into it cause it's convenient but truly I'm surprised more people haven't gotten sick from this place. read more

OMG ! my new favorite spot to go to ! Even though there was a lot of yelling at one point from the chefs our server Dulce was sweet and made sure we were taken care of and that we felt comfortable. She checked on us constantly and got us everything we ordered. The food was really good . Hello sushi you need to talk to your chefs ( what we saw today when 1 yelled at a customer leaving and the other yell at your staff saying the servers didn't know the meaning of last call was absurd! ) only reason we are giving your restaurant a 5 star was because of your servers who work hard to take care of us. Food was good. The menu was a tad bit confusing, but nonetheless, it was good. Especially for its price. We can't say the same for their service though... Our server came to take our check and asked if we could leave a yelp review, which we told her we would do. She didn't come back with our card or receipt until we left one, and yes she asked to check our phone. She held onto our card for 15 minutes until she seen we had left one. It was a bit odd, felt like we were being held hostage until we left a review. Very weird. My sister and I will not be back anytime soon. This place is definitely a place to TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK . But who knows, you might have better luck than us! read more

I always have a wonderful experience at Hello Sushi. Earlier, I called to see if they could accommodate a large group of about 18 for 1am. Kim spoke with her coworker and they were able to accommodate. Kim took our order ahead of time so the staff could prepare for us. When our group got to Hello Sushi, we had Militon as our server. AMAZING SERVICE!!!! He was very patience with us. He was quick with everything. Very professional and friendly. He continued to check in with our group periodically. If you ever get the chance to come here, the food is delicious and Militon's service was the best I have ever experienced. He made our hangout a very special one. Thank you!!! read more

Taste wise it's pretty basic teriyaki chicken/beef with rice. It's nothing that will blow your socks off, but it IS good! The crunch roll was pretty simple too, but hey, less is more and sometimes sticking to the basics is the best move. If I worked closer I'd definitely pop in more often for sure! I will definitely be keeping Roll & Grill in the rotation now, especially if/when I want something filling that won't break the bank.

We didn't realize the error until we got home so I hope their actual spider roll has the crab in it.. maybe I'll give this place another chance next time.
