But here OMG it's amazing!!!! I was so happy I had to come back just for the dal, but I also love the tandoori chicken an garlic naan are my favorite things to eat. There food, ambiance, service and prices were all terrific. We shared a wide variety of appetizers, entrees and vegetables and they were all wonderful. Almost all were as good as, or better than I have ever tasted. I especially loved the Coconut Curry Fish, which featured Chilean Sea Bass. I celebrated my 10 year anniversary at Herbs Indian Cuisine. I booked their banquet hall for the event. The event consisted of 40 people. From the beginning of booking to the end of the party, the service was TOP NOTCH. Everyone was super nice, especially the banquet hall manager, Jyoti. He's a really nice guy. He was nice, he was flexible with the menu options, he was there the entire time of the party, and was hands on with everything. He even stayed late just for our decorator to come pickup her stuff. Just an overall great guy. Jyoti also had a right hand man who was also great. Both of them basically never said "no" to me. I understand every restaurant or banquet hall has rules but these guys were flexible with any requests that I had. Jyoti made the event super easy. About the venue, it's a nice intimate venue that can fit around 60 to 80 people at max I believe. I loved that Herbs had a buffet menu. ALL of our guests loved the food. The appetizers were chilli chicken, chicken chow mein, samosa, and fish fry. The main entrees were chicken Tikka masala, kadani chicken, goat curry, polao, mixed vegetables, etc. The dessert was golab jamun and another dessert. The food lived up to the hype. The music was cool. They already had speaker system with a mic, so that the event can Bluetooth into the system. All in all, we had an AMAZING event. Everyone one of my friends and family loved that it was a banquet hall but it wasn't too big. Just the perfect. My wife and I will definitely be coming back, but this time to eat lol. I recommend this place as an event center to anyone who's looking to book a party. Only cons I had was that the lighting in the buffet area could've been better but that's me nitpicking. My foodie friends chatted about how delicious the food was here. It's a long drive from home. But we had to shop at a store near the restaurant. It was lunchtime. I couldn't resist! Outside, the restaurant looks unassuming. You might not even notice it. A woman came out saying: "Are you going in? The food is good!" Inside, you walk into a setting which looks like a five-star restaurant. The tablecloths and napkins are white linen. The glasses are upscale. The utensils are heavy, shiny stainless steel. The lighting is relaxing. It's peaceful and quiet. The restroom is the cleanest I've seen in a restaurant. Above everything, the staff are professional and manner. My wife and I came here to try the lunch buffet. There were two rows of dishes. Each row is on one side of a wall in the center of the room. I read the cuisine is not mainstream Indian, but Nepalese. Our favorite Indian buffet shut for good during the pandemic. We found a new favorite Indian place, but they didn't serve a buffet. We prefer to try a variety of dishes first. Later, we focus on our favorites. We haven't tried Nepalese food before. Does it differ from Indian? One difference is Nepalese food avoids cream or sugar. Another difference: Nepalese do not puree or mash their vegetables. They cut and stir-fry them, leaving a crunchy texture. Wow! I loved it. The spices weren't as strong as Indian. It tasted more flavorful. And it wasn't as heavy. My body felt healthier. I think the difference in preparation technique succeeds. I read there is no baking in Nepalese cuisine. Yet, the flat bread they served was fresh and delicious. The woman that came out was right. This place should be busier than it is. I'm going back next year. I rarely give 3 stars but would be tempted to say a 3.5 but decided on 4 as it's hard to rate spicy food when I'm just not a fan. There is a nice selection of food on the lunch buffet. This is our first Indian experience, and will admit most of the dishes I would not order from a menu. I think a true Indian food fan might think differently. The fresh naan was very good. My husband enjoyed the rice pudding. Service was a bit slow, we had to ask the waitress, while at the buffet for dink refills. And we had to ask for soup and dessert bowls and it wasn't busy at all, 5 tables while we were here. The atmosphere is very nice and it's very clean. read more

First time at Herbs. The place is nice inside. The good: We tried 5 dishes and all the food was great! The tandoori chicken was a standout. The bad: once we ordered, we waited over 25 minutes for the food and all but 5-6 other tables were empty. We came for their 7 day per week lunch buffet and left very full and satisfied. You can either do the buffet or order a la carte from their menu during lunch. They are a really beautiful Indian and Nepali restaurant, and were very friendly and accommodating. They were very dedicated in answering questions about what ingredients/allergens were in the dishes, which was so nice. The tandoori chicken, fish curry, and aloo bhindi (spiced potato and okra) were my favorites from the buffet, but really, every single dish that was offered was delicious. Also, for dessert, the rice pudding was a wonderful treat. They came out with baskets of fresh naan for everyone, included with the lunch buffet. You know an Indian restaurant is legit if the "mild" is still spicy! I was so intrigued by the 5-star ratings that I had to check this place out, and I was not disappointed! I don't usually like lamb, but that Lamb Rogan Josh was the best lamb I have ever tasted. I do feel that the garlic naan was a tad undercooked since the garlic was still raw, but I appreciate the crazy amount of garlic they put on the naan. Most of my whining on Yelp over the past six-and-a-half years centered around bemoaning the fact that I had yet to find an Indian buffet in Texas about which I could find no fault. The buffet must be fresh, the flavors genuine to the region they represented, each dish must be able to stand on its own, flavor-wise, so that I would be happy to eat it, and it alone, for my meal. This quest far predates my time on Yelp, going back at least two decades. Well, Gentle Reader, I shall whine no longer, for my quest ended at Herbs Indian Cuisine in, of all places, Hurst, Texas on June 29, 2023. However, it is 300 miles from my current home in Kerrville, Texas; so, there may be a whine every now and then about that! If in your travels, you come within 150 miles of Hurst and, like me, have a passion for Indian food (all regions, including Pakistan and Nepal), you owe it to your tastebuds to seek out Herbs. Disregard the maudlin reviews below four stars and out of courtesy, give the four-stars a read. Believe as the gospel, the five-star reviews, including this humble one, if it pleases you. I offer no photos as it was a spur-of-the-moment decision browsing Yelp minutes before leaving our hotel in Frisco to head home. There are several from the business, which I usually disregard as they seldom are truly representative of the product--Herbs' are the exception as what you see is what you get. They offer a modest (by most Indian restaurant standards) menu, but every offering is a gem. But, I implore you, head for the buffet as it contains many items that are not on the menu as well as those that are. If you are familiar with my descriptive food reviews, you know I go to great lengths to extol the virtues of the majority of the items that cross my palate. However, I shall not do that for Herbs; indeed, it is the first that has fallen into that category. To do so would be crass, even disrespectful, as the experience was beyond words. Suffice it to say that more than once, the food brought tears to my eyes. I mean this quite literally and poor Peg had to endure it (by the way, she enjoyed Herbs every bit as me). The service was as superior as the food, the staff were courteous and kind to a fault. Such service is usually found at only the most high-end restaurants. The decor is lovely with linen napkins and tablecloths even for lunch; also worthy of mention are the flatware and dishes. Everything meshes into a pleasing whole that is worthy of the food you are served. So, enough! Accept my words or not; it means little to me. But if nothing else, I hope they will roll around in your subconscious, poking and prodding you ever so gently until you find yourself at Herbs. Namaste! read more

Absolutely amazing! I've been looking for an Indian Buffet like this for years! The Selection was fantastic; lots of veggie options which is usually kept to a minimum at a buffet. And they even had a paneer option, which is rare for a buffet! The desserts were beet root pudding and rice pudding, which mixed together were so delicious! The esthetics of the place were right on point: beautiful and minimalist. The staff was pleasant and warm. All smiles from everyone. The only downside: I'm just passing through and can't take them with me. Herbs is on my list of must-hit Indian restaurants when passing through Texas. You know how you can pass a diamond every day and never know it's there? That's how I feel about Herbs! My friend and I are a little on the adventurous side when it comes to food and so she found this little place. I immediately went online to check out the menu. The pictures of the inside looked elegant, clean, bright, and simple. But yeah, website staging is a thing so I wasn't going to bank on that. The menu was intriguing so I was hopeful. THIS PLACED DELIVERED ON THEIR EXPERIENCE!! The website does not oversell this place. It really is the way it looks. We were greeted by such friendly staff and we got exemplary service all evening. We met Chinta and Joti who were kind, attentive, and truly made us feel like we belonged there. That would've been reason enough to go back! We had the Fish Coconut Curry and the Lamb Korma. I wish we had paused to take photos but the aroma and the presentation was so pleasing that we just dug right in. The flavors delivered. I love Nepali/Indian food and have had much of it in other states but this was the best I have ever had. The sauce was spicy and sweet and the garlic naan was so fresh and tasty. It was hard not to overeat. We were told that they have a buffet everyday and so we will be back again to try it. You just can't do much better! Phenomenal food and service! We're so glad to get good Indian cuisine so close to home. My wife and I were there on a Sunday night and it wasn't very busy for this new restaurant. We ordered the mixed tandoori grill with butter naan bread and it was amazing. We had a chance to quiz the host and chef on their favorite dishes and they sent us home with and additional entree to sample along with a huge portion of leftovers from the mixed grill. This is an incredible restaurant. I've been here a couple times and what strikes you first is how beautiful it is inside with a high-class sort of vibe. This was a surprise to me as I didn't look at photos beforehand and the shopping center it's in is not half as nice as this restaurant. The food is amazing, every dish I've tried I've loved. Something I love about Herbs is it has dishes you can't find at other Indian restaurants anymore. The Kabuli naan in particular is very hard to find and it's incredible, full of coconut and cherries. I also love the carrot halwa, which I feel they've perfected. Their mango lassies are full of sweet flavor and they have the best butter chicken I've tried. The service is also amazing. Everyone is very kind and welcoming and from my second visit I was recognized and treated like a regular (granted, it was my second time that week). I can't wait to come back! read more
