I tried the Lemon-aide that had strawberries and lemon with fresh pulp that gave it a nice blended taste. I also had a hot chocolate chip cookie and very tender beef jerky with a little bit of a kick which I enjoyed both. My daughter had a Matchstick which was a Matcha drink with milo, vanilla ice cream and a few other ingredients with a kit kat piece on top. It was super yummy and not too sweet. She tried a vegetable empanada with a flaky and buttery crust that she really enjoyed. They also had a very talented and fantastic band. I was so happy to have a bobba place open in the neighborhood however I am very disappointed. The place has a weird smell when you walk in. It smells like cat poop however the place is really cute but couldn't stand being in there without my head hurting from the smell. The drinks are watered down so much that you don't taste any of the flavors . I was forced to drink it since they are expensive but not worth the money. Grand opening today New dining area under the AMC theaters in Topanga Mall. The dining area is huge, the parking was never issued, you can see the server continue to clean the table one after the other to accommodate the crowd. A family friend told me daughter Hey Hey boba is awesome, why not give it a try. I decided to try and remember that most spots in Boba don't have that option. My first optional Jewel jasmine tea. (Jasmine w/ strawberry ,lychee & Aloa jelly). That I can't order out of the kiosk. My next option Mango Tango (Jasmine w/mango, orange & lychee jelly). Hey Hey is a sophisticasual boba teahouse in Echo Park that has been around for a few years. Lately, I have done delivery and take-out, but I'll describe what I remember from my experience. The drinks are just as good minus enjoying the venue. Hey Hey is a cross between a longe and a loft: has bar seating where you can watch them make your drinks as if they were cocktails but without alcohol, the couches and open space make it feel like a living room, the brick wall that makes it feel like a loft, nice, tall windows giving it a welcoming feeling as you're entering the front through the patio. There's a corkboard where people have taken photos and posted them. It is designed to hold events and entertainment, but although I have not been there when there were any, my friend, Thip, had a Lao pop-up a couple of years ago while I was in grad school and that's when I first tried Hey Hey. The concept revolves around the social experience with your friends, with the person making your drinks, or making new friends while you're there enjoying crafted boba tea drinks. It is not a study space and there is no WiFi. This bar lounge-like place emphasizes presentation both with making your drinks at their nice, contemporary tea bar, and their drinks are top-notch and photo-worthy. The menu is relatively small, like a cocktail menu, and you get to choose from several wonderfully crafted boba drinks that they mastered. More recently, I tried the Build-Your-Own Iced Milk Tea and thought I would do matcha tea with ube and taro, and I advise against it since they are better enjoyed separately and you're better off going for a for-sure thing like The Mamba. The Mamba is basically Thai iced tea with ube (a purple yam, popular with Pilipino desserts) and it is my favorite thing on the menu. If it's your first time, their house drink, Hey Hey, is a royal milk tea, boba, flan, caramel, and cream, is a good choice. The Strike has Nutella and Matchstick is basically a matcha frappe, both pretty good. That almost names all their drinks. During COVID-19 times when I have done take-out and delivery, the drinks are almost as good minus the experience of relaxing in such a cool, vibrant shop. I ordered Passion--mango black tea--from the Big Boys menu, which is a half-gallon of tea, and I really liked it. Their cookies are really good, but it does not deliver too well since they bake it fresh and it is hard to keep it from getting smashed. Although I have not talked to the owner, he is a pretty cool guy from what I read with a good concept and story for the teahouse. When the delivery app, I forget which, forgot to bring me an item, I was able to refund from the app easily and he threw in cookies the next time I visited. I do miss going to Hey Hey and hope to return when the world is safer. In the meantime, it's currently the only boba shop I get delivery for. I'm already spending a lot and would rather get food, but Hey Hey is great. read more

An outdoor patio and a spacious interior allow for comfortable seating, which speaking of, they have some ultra comfortable soft leather couches. I sank into one and did not want to get up. Sip and stay for a while. They tea menu serves hot and cold beverages and they have some random food items and pastries to choose from. I enjoy drinking Thai Teas (T.T) and there's is unique. It has mint, cinnamon, cocoa and cardamom. It's sweet like the OG recipe with the subtle addition of spice and sweet cocoa. I set up a Boba Tour with some friends. It started out as a joke but then became reality, and Hey Hey was our first stop! So parking is def not easy, especially for a group meeting there, but it wasn't impossible. Their menu is very--artisan. We got the Trifecta, which many others mentioned it's pretty much the Vietnamese Che Ba Mau, but theirs is really good and extra coconut-y! So while you can get Che Ba Mau's for half the price other places theirs is still worth checking out! We also got the "Hey Hey" which is their house Milk tea drink, it was very caramel-y it def hit the spot. My only complaint was that the boba wasn't ready when got there so we had to wait half an hour for them to make it. It was the middle of the day... it seemed odd they would run out. Luckily we weren't too behind schedule with the tour! Otherwise this ended up being the most expensive drinks we got on the tour as well, $13 for the two, which does run a little high in comparison to other places. Location wise it is the closest to central LA so I'm sure rent wise and area wise, it's appropriately priced. I do believe it's worth it as a place to go for a treat and meet up with friends, but I wouldn't probably get a drink here everyday. read more

Mamba w black sugar boba: The Thai tea and coffee flavors are so strong that it's very difficult to taste the fresh ube. I'd say the coffee flavor overpowers the Thai tea a bit more. I tried the Mamba and the Trifecta. These drinks were definitely on the richer, thicker side and more of a dessert drink. The Mamba was strong in both the coffee and thai tea flavor, and then you get a thick slurp of the ube. A tea shop that looks like a coffee shop, with quite a few dazzling tea choices. I went with a classic matcha (I love matcha) and was less than impressed. The staff was incredibly nice, as I was the only one in there, and they had a lot of suggestions on what I should get. I chose the matcha because I don't particularly love drinking sweet drinks, they tend to give me a headache, so I went with just a matcha drink. The drink itself had a weird flavor, it was slightly sweet and I couldn't really taste the typical matcha flavoring. I think the problem was with the way the drink was made. With any tea, you should always use hot water first, then if it's supposed to be cold, add ice to it. This drink was made with cold water, and so the matcha flavoring never really came forward. There was barely any milk/creamer in it...and that's what milk tea is mostly made out of (it was a whole cup of black tea with a splash of milk). I had to wait until I was home to add more milk because it was unbearable to drink. As for the boba, it was just okay. The texture was kinda good but it had no flavor. Aside from the drink, the customer service was great! The employees were friendly and helpful. I ordered my drink and totally forgot to ask for non dairy milk, but realized after I had already left. Came out to Hey Hey because of an Off the Menu item promotion. We got the Brewhaha (thai milk tea + taro) and Matchstick (matcha milk tea) and were not disappointed! The matcha milk tea had a great strong matcha flavor which I really enjoyed. The Brewhaha, the special item on the OTM promo, was ok. The thai tea flavor could have been richer, and I wish the taro flavor was more prominent as well. Parking, as expected in this side of town, was a little difficult but we eventually found a spot in the neighborhoods nearby. The ambiance however was wonderful. They have indoor and outdoor seating with shelves of board games to play. Really inviting atmosphere and good customer service. Their patio is shaded with a few tables, chairs and a bar. I felt very comfortable sitting by myself sipping my boba after a hot walk up.
