I found this place on Yelp. It looked great so I thought why not!! I was able to find parking few minutes down the block, the walk wasn't too bad to the place. The place is absolutely beautiful!! I loved the outside seating area, very comfortable sofas! Inside was a bit hot but it was decorated beautifully. I read yelp reviews and the pow drink and got another drink which is with the yelp check in. The man who works at the shop recommended it. It was the iced Jazmine tea with milk. I definitely thought it tasted better than the pow. In my opinion I think the pow was disgusting!! I asked them to remake something else, there was another man who helped me and asked if I had a taster of the pow before I got it and I said no!! I tried their cold brow and I didnt like it either. I thought it was super strong. I decided to go with their Breezy which is more refreshing for sure and I had it with boba! I liked it more for sure, I just didnt think it was worth $6! for boba drink. This place is super clean, bathroom is also clean, they have games too, as well as amazon locker! Their customer service is absolutely outstanding!! great people. As far as their drink, I am not too sure. As a milk tea + boba regular, I'm always hesitant to try these newer modern hipster boba places because often times you end up paying more for the branding, the fancy names and concoctions of drinks, and the way they make them look pretty but they end up lacking in flavor. But i am happy to say that this was not the case. I will say I was brave and went beyond my norm of drinks, because I figure when you come to a place like this, you should try their specials. I decided to try the brewhaha, which is a ube Thai coffee frappe. The drink itself was different but i liked it. The consistency could've been a little thicker for a blended drink, but maybe more ice would've taken away from the flavor or maybe hardened the boba. Overall, not impressed. I'd recommend going closer to ktown as you can find much better boba there nowadays. The green tea was hard to taste and watered down. I was expecting the creme add-on to be able to mix well with the green tea but they kept separate which I thought was really odd. The ice cubes are huge and take up a good amount of the cup. Maybe I am just being over critical. I found myself being able to enjoy some of the creme flavor and the boba together because of the sweetness. Can i start by saying how cute is this boba shop? I love the vibe right when you walk in! Its bright, really pretty aesthetic and welcoming! I love the displays on the wall and on the table! Especially that rose gold shaker and the boba kit! You order inside and they bring it outside//the door for pick up. The staff was super chill! Idk the name but it was a dude helping out me and my sister! Hella patient too! My sister and her fiance order from this place and its my first time here! And I am impressed! The dude overheard me talking to my sister about making their matcha drink into a strawberry matcha and she loved it! And i did too! The strawberries were fresh and the matcha isnt so heavy which I do enjoy and like from a strawberry matcha drink! For me, I am SUPER picky with ube because most places make ube/taro drinks have powder and can actually taste the powder in the bottom or its watered down and I was also hesitant with getting it because there was coffee mixed into it but the dude blended and i think added more ube into the drink and it tasted so good! It wasn't even heavy at all since the milk choice was oat milk! I really do like their ube drink and the boba alone was chewy, still warm and made perfectly(not to soft but not to hard either) When i'm back in the Echo Park area visting my old home i'll definately be coming back to get my boba fix! They have limited amount of drinks and I opted for the milk tea with flan & boba.. no caramel because it sounded too sweet. Full disclosure: I LURVE bubble tea - and Hey Hey did not disappoint. The vibe is excellent: it's a cozy spot to either set up for work for a few hours or to chat with friends on the chairs or sofa. Love the photo wall, and even contributed $2 for two instant photos for myself & my group. Hot or cold tea drinks, bubble teas, and coffee, served in healthy-sized glass jars with or without handles based on the temperature. There were four of us together, and each one of us was satisfied with what we ordered. There was a conversation/thought prompt sheet of butcher paper with colored markers if you felt like contributing content and what looked like responses to a prior prompt dangling from a ceiling fixture. They have a unique menu but you could also build your own drink anyway like it. This is a really cool boba shop and cafe with a nice open space for conversation, work, and board games. I tried the Hey Hey - which is their classic boba drink with some pudding and boba. The tea itself is excellent with nice pieces of pudding. I am a little disappointed with the boba for the hype. The center is just a little bit starchy and tough so I would give it 3 out of 5. After dinner my boyfriend and I decided to try a new place for boba and we found Hey Hey! Parking on sunset is insane. We drove around in circles for about 15 minutes. We almost gave up, but thankfully voila! someone was leaving and we were able to park without paying. This place is super cute! Dim lighting, and a lot of seating (inside and out). They have beautiful decor and sofas. They also have board games, a spot where you can leave a sweet note and a piano that you can play! When I was there they were playing oldies. My favorite was Brenton's wood "Me & You". The employee was super friendly and recommended some drinks for us. I tried their Matchstick with oat milk and my bf had the Royal drink, both with boba. When we got them both came with a Twix (my favorite part)! The drinks were okay, but I probably would not get them again. I do want to give this place another chance because the vibe of this spot was amazing. If you are on a date with someone, I'd highly recommend taking him/her here. It's intimate with great music, and the board games can help y'all vibe some more :) I'd also recommend this place for a group of friends, or anyone who wants a quiet place to study. I wanted to try a new place for drinks and I'm glad I found "Hey Hey". The place is very chic and the ambiance is great. I went on a Thursday night around 8pm and the place still had quite a few people. It looked like there was a band that was setting up to play music for the place which I found very different compared to other boba/drink places. I think this spot is a great place to study and hang out with friend during the day as well. I tried their matchstick which is basically ice blended matcha with a piece of KitKat. I liked it but I think it was a little too pricey. My boyfriend got their milk tea and he said it was good but said it was a little too pricey for a milk tea as well. Location: Location is a great, it is walking distance from Sunset Blvd. and Echo Park and there are many other things (in walkable distance) that one can do around the area once you finish your drink or study/work session here. The People: The barista was very friendly and patient. Some of the people that came in seemed to come primarily for the instagram photos, although I did see people sitting down and having a drink and talk. The Drinks: This is not so much a "coffee shop" but rather a "tea place." I got the T.T. with boba and my friend got the Chai Town with boba. The drinks are average, as of right now I would get the Chai Town next time I go, but I will certainly try the other drinks as well before having a complete judgment here. Work/Study: At the time I came, it was a perfect spot to come in and do some work/study. I did call them before hand to make sure that it was a work/study-friendly spot and they said, 'yes.' The music played is okay, it is probably on the moderate noise level, however, I would not have called it distracting in my case. I would certainly come again here and get some work/study-ing done here in the future. The Venue: Yes; it's an instagram-friendly venue. The seating areas (both outside and inside) seemed quite comfy and modern. I did like the artwork. Extras: They do have board games that one can grab and play. AMAZING. 6$? Reasonable price you could tell that it was really high quality I detected a hint of hazelnut, a little bit of chocolate as well? Hey Hey is my fave quarantine Door Dash delivery spot!! I started ordering from here since we were in lockdown, and it's been my weekly/bi-weekly work-from-home treat. The orders come quick, are consistently delicious, and are safely packaged so I know they were tampered with during delivery. I mostly get the milk tea series, with the house foam. The teas are strong and flavorful, and customizable with sweetness level (I normally get 25-50% sugar). And the frothy milk foam makes the tea creamy. Thick milk foam is similar to sea salt foam from other tea shops, except it's thicker, not salty, and a little sweetened. I always want to try something new, but I can't resist these milk teas!! I also appreciate that Hey Hey took the time to show pictures of all the drinks on the Door Dash menu to help make my decision. read more

I have very mixed feelings about this boba. At first taste, I thought it was pretty bland. I tried the sweet topping and it's pretty good but I think overall the black milk tea boba is meh-ok. Perhaps I need to try the other drinks or it just comes down to preference. TLDR; Yo! Hey! Howdy! This place is the perfect place to just chill out with a group of friends over tea, or catch up with someone one on one. The seating areas are very intimate and conducive to social interaction. I love that there is a comfortable couchey outdoor patio, for those who prefer a quieter setting. My friend and I came here at 8pm on a weekday night, and this place was popping, but also...comfortable. It made us feel like we were part of some night life crew, but in a calm, collected kind of way. I ordered the herb tea, and it was good. Worth $5? Probably not. Parking is absolutely horrendous. This place is a cute little tea shop, but I wasn't a big fan. The interior is very cutely decorated but there isn't much room to sit. They have a few couches and little short tables. Also have a cute Polaroid wall where they let you take your own Polaroid and post it. The idea is to create a map but most are obviously pinned onto Los Angeles. Still very cute! They also have a few games you can borrow to play by the cash register. Side note that dogs are also allowed! I actually came here to satisfy a boba craving, but most of their teas are not milk teas. I ended up getting a seasonal cucumber tea. I personally found the teas weren't up to the standard of many of the other tea options in Los Angeles. It was refreshing but the taste was nothing special. The employee was a dismissive as well when I asked her for more information about the tea (re her favorite and what teas are most popular).
