Few times we ordered a whole roasted pig. Came out very good. Great texture, even coloration and crispy. The owner cut the whole roasted and put them together carefully that at the end, all the pieces are back together again. Great job. The skin is crispy, and meat is well seasoned and tender. The duck has a more tender skin, and it isn't a meaty variety, so expect bones and lots of them. If you're looking for a ritzy Instagram experience, you are in the wrong place. The vibe is old school Chinese. Cash is preferred, but they do take plastic as well. Show up, buy your meat, leave. First time here after recommendations from friends that this place are outstanding. We ended up ordering 5 pounds of roast pork and while chicken . The roast pork was bit disappointing with no crispy bite to it. It was chewy like biting on a sandal. This was 10am in morning order. The chicken is decent enough nothing spectacular. read more

Amazing roast pork, amazing roast duck!!!! And just incredible steamed chicken. The best bbq I have had including in Vietnam. And I have eaten a lot of bbq. The people at the front chopping up your pork--- they seem to be working there because they want to work there. It seems like a love for what they want to do rather than they have to work. It reminds me of my very hardworking parents who can retire, but decide not to retire because they are bored at home. It's cold in Dallas this morning, an excellent reason to venture out to buy a whole duck at a new place, Hiep Phong. I also scored a roasted pig leg, which will make a fine soup stock, married with duck bones and gently simmered in beef broth to keep me warm and happy all afternoon and evening. I enjoyed the duck here, but found it to be almost completely unseasoned, when compared to the much more flavorful whole duck I am accustomed to at First Chinese BBQ on Greenville. The pig leg was excellent for nibbling crispy skin and tasty tender meaty bits, well worth exploring (along with the pig head, all yours for $10 for fine nibbling and soup stock) if you have never done so. read more

This place has the best chinese BBQ in town. I used to go this place buy BBQ. Recently, I went there bought BBQ whole duck. They cheat me out, instead one full duck they took out important parts of the duck such thighs, neck and other good parts of the duck. They purpose doing that to cheat out customers don't pay attention. End up, they took half the duck selling for full price If you buy BBQ here make sure pay attention at them. I am confused where all the good reviews are coming from bc our experience was a huge let down. The place is kinda hole in the wall but arrangement of merch was very promising: plenty of roast ducks & meats plus an assortment of baos/pork buns. The store associates are borderline annoying and tried to force me to pay cash (a few other Chinese restaurants are guilty of the same such as First Chinese BBQ Plano). But how they manage to pass inspections or how other customers can turn a blind eye to the complete disregard of food handling sanitation is unbeknownst to me. I will spare disgusting details of what I witnessed while the store associates prepared food, let's just say there was no way anything bought I felt clean enough to eat. However rest of my party felt wasteful to toss food out. So while I refused to partake in eating, everyone else dove in. Complete disappointment (their words) - roast duck lacked flavor, too greasy and hard/old, pork bbq dry and baos bland/underwhelming. They rated quality to be less appetizing than other bbq places around DFW and agreed that $50 was sadly wasted. read more

Come here in the morning, and NOT the afternoon as the meat will not be as good. Both their roasted pork and duck are good. The butcher is really nice and will help you pick the best piece of meat for your liking. They also sell banh hoi which is supposed to be served together with the Heo Quay. Their sauce is also very good and compliments the meat perfectly. We usually order the BBQ here for any type of group party and never disappointed. Of course, come as soon as they're open to get the fresh meat. read more

Get here early. Hiep is well known for their bbq pork, duck and whole roasted pig. My wife and I catered a whole pig from Hiep for our wedding tea ceremony and our guess raves about the pig. My out of town family and friends who travelled for the wedding couldn't stop talking about the pig. I think it was more popular then the bride and groom. Arrive early because people don't mess around about wanting the best pieces of the pig and their choice of the many shiny ducks hanging just waiting to go home with you. read more

The first couple times I had them from birthday parties and was super impressed. However the very first time I made a trip to order myself, they let people cut in front of me to order the last bit of crispy pork left. I had to wait for a long time with two young children and then more people joined me to wait. Yet when the pork came out again, they let other people get their food first before I did and when I complained they said they didn't know (I was the only one waiting for the next batch for a long while). I will never order from them again! Called in my order for roast pork Dec 1st at 4:02pm. The guy gets my name and my phone number for the order to pick up December 8 at 5pm. My husband had to wait for 2 hours because they forgot my order. They told him they'll roast one for 50 minutes if he could wait. They said they'll give discount since they messed up. Nope! They still charged my husband full price of $295. My Dad's birthday party was delayed 5 hours because my husband was stuck in traffic coming back. Roast pork was overcooked. I don't know if I came in on a bad day but I was not impressed by their roast pork. I have heard so many good things about it and drove from Oklahoma to get the roast pork. The meat of kind of dry and the skin was not crunchy (kind of chewy actually). Also tried the Xa Xui but that was a bit salty and the meat was dry as well. Finally able to catch these guys when they are open to try their BBQ. Came here around noon on a Saturday and all their meats were hanging on the rack. Now super exited, I couldn't help my self so I ordered some roasted pork, roast duck and BBQ pork aka Xa Xiu. Just for FYI, you can't sit down and eat in here, you have to buy it by the pound and take it home. As the meats are being chopped up and prepared to go, I noticed that they also sell other snacks such as sweet buns, egg rolls, and related Asian groceries that I didn't bother to look at because I was eyeing their BBQ meats the whole time. A quick look at their prices (see attached) is about the same as other places however, the main difference is the older grandfather behind the counter preparing the meats is super nice and friendly. Anyways enough small talk, the BBQ meats here are amazing. GOLLY, the pork and duck were so damn good that I just couldn't stop eating it. Both the pork and duck were tender and juicy. The skin on the roast pork was amazingly crispy and the duck was just outstanding. Maybe, I'm exaggerating a bit but it was how I felt when I tried it and I'm sure you will feel the same too. Hiep Phong is a bit away from where I live but I don't care, I will be a regular here. read more
