Visited this rooftop lounge after opening day at Santa Anita and we got there right before sunset. They provide blankets if you get cold which was a nice touch. We ordered the seasonal espresso martinis and they were so good. Staff and management were very nice and helpful. It got pretty busy but our server Ariana was great. I like the fact that management was very hands on helping, because of the busy crowd. The food was all great, we tried the tacos governador, the burger and the flat bread. Everything was tasty. The only thing I wished for was a different salad option, like a simple wedge salad would be great as another option to the asian salad. The heat lamps were great as it does get cold up there. Beautiful view of Santa Anita Park and Huntington Drive. The food was delicious with WOW presentation. We started with grilled octopus and that became our favorite for the visit. The charred brocolini was very flavorful; the chef spelled out the chewy part and that was not often seen in the restaurants. The octopus was grilled to perfection and tasted great with the sauce or without. Also tried the tacos and staff recommended shrimp ceviche. The tacos hit the spot on a chili day, the meat was juicy and tender. The shrimp ceviche was very refreshing and I loved the house made chips. For drinks, we had their winter espresso martini and Horse Play; which was a bit on the sour side. Then we ordered the old fashioned and a lemon drop as it gets colder after sunset. The rooftop bar has a few sections that is designed for all size of parties. There are two tops along the we glass windows, larger parties tables with fire pit and regular tables under the roof. THIS ROOFTOP!!!! Hipico is now one of my new favorite spots! The food was incredible, especially the shrimp tacos, the drinks were strong and delicious, and the service was excellent. Came here on Saturday to meet up with my cousin for dinner. We were sat down right away. Service at first seemed slow but then it started to get better except for the part were I think they gave our food to another table because when our waiter came over and saw that we didn't have any food he realized what happened and he apologized then the manager came over and also apologized and compted half of our meal and gave us free dessert. The food was delicious. We had the waguy burgers, gobernador tacos and guacamole with chips. For dessert, we got the churro creme' brulee. The rooftop views were breathtaking and beautiful. I definitely would be back, regardless of the minor issues because they were corrected and everyone was so nice and very apologetic. We recently had a reservation for 6 at 5 PM on a Saturday and were seated right away. Hipico had only been open for about a month when we visited. It has an open rooftop space with lots of cozy spots to hang out, and they do offer blankets, but it gets pretty cold once the sun goes down so I'd still bring a jacket. The sunset over the Santa Anita Park was really pretty and easily the highlight. We ordered the Guacamole, Shishito Peppers, Sweet Heat Wagyu Burger, an off-menu Arcadia Wagyu Burger, and the Pork Kimchi Flatbread. Service was good and the food was decent, but it felt pricey, especially for the area. I'd come back for the views though and would be curious to check out their happy hour. read more

I was coming from an event and needed a good brunch to liven back up before heading home. I heard there was a new rooftop restaurant with a view of the Santa Anita racetrack and decided to give it a try. Man am I glad I did!!! First of all the host Judy was the sweetest and gave me the best seating options with the bar or views of the horses exercising and her favorite entree recommendations. I opted for the bar and heat lamps. I got the BEST Bloody Mary and a Brunch Burger and let me tell you it hit the spot. The wagyu patty was cooked perfectly and the egg just the right amount of runny. The double fried fries were crispy and fluffy. The bartender Justin made just about the best Bloody Mary I've had, with freshly cooked bacon. They told me that they have DJs and other events in the evenings and the rooftop even has heaters and blankets! So glad I came and I'll definitely be back. read more

The layout and decor are perfect for meeting friends or an intimate dinner. Nice mix of tables and couches if you want a more of a lounge vibe. It reminds me of the Hotel Irwin on the Westside. Nice mix of cocktails, beer, wine and food. The service was top notch. Surprised there are no Mountain views but the sunsets should be spectacular. Finally got to check out Hilton Arcadia new roof top bar. It's so cute and has great potential. Our server was Taylor and she was fantastic. The sunset view is amazing. Quite disappointed with particularly the service here. I understand the restaurant has been opened for around 4 months, but it was incredibly disorganized from the get go. Upon arriving, no one was at the front desk to take us to our table. Once seated, our server informed us he'd be back with water and to take our order - we waited over 20-25 minutes for him to come back. Once he came by, it was clear that he wasn't sure what was on the menu or what was going on as he thought our order had already been taken. When naming what food and drinks we wanted ordered, it took a few tries telling him until he understood exactly what we wanted. Throughout waiting for our meal, not only was our meal initially brought to the wrong table but several items from other tables were brought to us where we had to tell the servers they weren't ours. Clearly the servers were unaware of what orders went to who. The food itself was good but we noticed that a few other guests were making complaints about the service. The octopus was good and the shrimp ceviche was decent. The wine, cocktails, and champagne were also nice. One particular standout was we noticed the manager was going around asking how everything was to a few other neighboring tables but totally bypassed us. This was interesting since every party they went to were white while us as POC were ignored. Unfortunately, Hipico has a lot to work on and until the I'd advise being wary of service. read more

The atmosphere was stunning and the panoramic views were Arcadia perfection capturing the golf course, San Gabriel Mountains, and the famous Santa Anita Racetrack. Moving onto the exceptionally personal staff & service: Our server Juan was like no other! He was efficient, extremely friendly, very kind, knowledgeable, and fun. We also received a visit from the restaurant manager, Gabriel, who was very genuine and had a sincere interest in every aspect of our experience. Finally, the food is unique and outstanding! The quality, timing, and presentation of both the food and drinks exceeded our expectations. We'll surely be returning soon and look forward to trying their upcoming Sunday brunch! read more

We went the first week it was opened. Loved the views! The appetizers were very good. I recommend the Octopus, Shrimp Ceviche and Tacos Gobernador. Had a little bit of shortcoming with my Bombay Saffire Martini (no olives) but otherwise we had great service from Juan our waiter.
