Service here was excellent. For the price point with their AYCE options, I could find much better options though with more variety. Their AYCE is for lunch time only, or you can still order a la carte. They have a few rolls, hand rolls, nigiri, appetizers and dessert. It's not the best sushi spot that I have been to but still glad I was able to try them out.

We were hiking in the area so we stopped by here for the lunch AYCE. It's $30/pp, which for the quality of the fish and the rolls it's pretty good for the price so you don't have to break the bank. We like that their rolls came as four pieces so we were able to try more options. The rolls were pretty tasty, just wish they had less sauce over them. Otherwise, we were seated quickly, and the service was good. If we were in the area again, we would come back!

One of the better options in the area, many options on menu, and creative rolls. Nice portions, and prompt service. Located in the ranch 99 parking lot. It's easy to find and has plenty of parking. Go stop for sake and quick bites or dinner.

I went to Hisui Sushi for lunch and had a patchy experience. The price was affordable and customer service was great. We got seated fast and the waitress was attentive and answered our questions. The restaurant offers plenty of seating space in the main dining room as well as seating at the bar. We got three rolls and some nigiri. First the nigiri, the fish did not taste fresh at all. We had the halibut/albacore. The rice did not taste as fresh as I had hoped it to be, which kind of affected the overall quality of the nigiri. The rice tasted stale. On this visit we also had three rolls. While some parts of the rolls were fine, others simply were not that tasty and had the stale rice. It was slightly disappointing given the high standards for good sushi and overall rating for this restaurant. It's a decent spot for a fast lunch with great service, but the sushi itself has work to do.

Service was friendly and fast. My kids ordered the Philadelphia roll. It was made fresh and the rice to fish ratio was perfect. I had the sesame chicken bowl. The chicken bits were flavorful and crispy. The chirashi don had all kinds of sashimi. This is a Folsom staple.

Those four letters A Y C and E, one after another catches my attention every time. When I found out that Hisui Sushi offers AYCE lunch buffet of sushi, my interest was peaked. I gave it a go. But alas, I have to say it was ok. However, it is worth a visit for folks not in a time crunch and wanting an AYCE experience with the purpose of filling up. I dropped in a weekend and the waitress was working various tables, it was difficult for her to provide optimal customer service for all her tables. She had a terrific up beat attitude. But do you the large number of customers, I did not see her for long stretches of time making it difficult to order buffet items and timely get the bill. Plus there is a wait time from sushi chefs to churn out the sushi. For the lunch buffet, you order items off a pre-set menu. You are limited to five items at a time. The sushi rolls are half size. The quality and flavors of the sushi were not bad but not particularly outstanding. Chicken skewers: One serving is two skewers of what tasted like thigh meat. The flavors were safe, on the mild side. The teriyaki sauce drizzled on top added flavor. Crispy salmon skin hand roll: Hello... this was fantastic! Absolutely delish. The strips of salmon skin were fried to a light crispness with a salty savory taste. Spicy tuna hand roll: The tuna had a grounded up consistency with a strong smelling marinade. I took only a couple of bites and could not get over the texture and smell. Rainbow roll: It had thin slices of sashimi. So thin, that I could not taste the flavors of the various fish. I also ordered another roll but it also had very thin slices of sashimi and not memorable. I wanted to order more food but I did not see my waitress and being there for nearly a hour with the restaurant filling up with more customers, I called it. I needed to get going and flagged down the two other servers to help get my bill.

Due to its location in a not so diverse city, it's not your typical sushi restaurant. The nigiri is pre sliced by the staff instead of keeping them in saku blocks and slicing to order. However, you'll find traditional Japanese sushi cuisine being served. Another thing is the portion sizes are HUGE. See the picture for the gigantic crispy rice tuna appetizer. I also really appreciate them having kizami wasabi (fresh wasabi) available, as it's so much better than the fake wasabi paste that's made of horseradish.

Popped in this afternoon for a quick bite and was surprised to see they offer AYCE for lunch! We chose the regular menu but that's always an option for another time. The host was friendly and our server was nice as well. The restaurant was pretty much packed on a Saturday afternoon but we were served quickly and everything arrived with a short wait. We were in and out in about 40 minutes. We ordered the Firecracker to start and that was amazing!! I subbed out the spicy tuna for crab mix and that was perfect. Everything else okay. I generally love nigiri, but the nigiri here is too rice heavy. The scallops were slightly fishy and wasn't the most fresh compared to other times I have tried hotate. The albacore was fine. I like how they offer a little bit of pickled wasabi on the side but, we wouldn't order their nigiri if we go back. The rolls were fine. The crab mix is a little heavy on the mayonnaise and the Snow White roll was very saucy too. They are a little too rice heavy for me as well. Overall, if we're on this side of town, it's a convenient stop but definitely doesn't take the cake.

Wow! I was impressed to find this great of a sushi place in Folsom. We came for a birthday and was not disappointed. We arrived in the afternoon right before their buffet was able to end. We were hoping to opt in their sushi buffet, but didn't want to rush ourselves so we ordered a few rolls to share. We wanted a sale to go along with our meal and our server recommended one that we all fell in love with. I wish I remembered the rolls, but to be honest everything we tried was delicious. The service was on point, and our server made sure she answered all our questions. We definitely will be back.

Celebrated birthday girl here and had a blast. This spot is slightly trendy but not overly fancy -- more or less putting out a modern yet casual ambiance. We ordered a bit of everything but mostly sashimi as we are all fans. The fish was fresh and easy to distinguish between each tasting. We also ordered a bento box to share which was perfect to square up dinner. The soft shell crab for our appetizer was meh to me. Since we were there celebrating a birthday, our server brought out a complimentary dessert for the birthday girl at the end of dinner -- she was super happy. Although, I wish they would've had some candles on hand because we all wanted to sing happy birthday to her. Nonetheless, the comp was a sweet gesture from the house. Wouldn't mind returning if ever in the area again.

There isn't a lot of all-you-can-eat sushi in this area. Because of the very prompt service, location, and quality, I'm giving 5 stars. Have I had better fish? Yes, but that's not the point... They have a reasonable rice to fish ratio. Plus, the rolls come in smaller sizes and portions, so you can eat a nice variety :) If I had to pay normal menu prices for the same rolls, I would probably only give 3-4 stars. Nothing spectacular in terms of sushi joints in this area, but great in terms of all-you-can-eat. read more

I would have to say I've been to pretty much every sushi Resturant in Folsom/El Dorado hills and this place is by far the best. It's always clean and the fish is so fresh. The sushi chefs are so friendly and skilled. You have to ask for Cam!! He will definitely take care of you and I have to say he is quite the looker. The food is always consistent whether is from the kitchen or sushi bar. Hot food is hot and cold food is cold. The service is very welcoming. Just stop by sometime and check it out if you haven't. They have all you can eat by the way as a lunch special!!! Freaking amazing!! read more

So impressed with this place! After months of anticipation seeing the coming soon sign, Hisui Sushi finally opened last night! Despite our fear that they may still be working out the kinks the first few weeks, we tried the lunch all you can eat deal today. Wow, so pleased. Our waitress was incredibly attentive and everyone was very friendly. The fish was so fresh and the rolls were amazing. The all you can eat was SO reasonably priced. Additionally, there was variety to what you could order: specialty rolls, house rolls, nigiri, hand rolls, appetizers and dessert. I tried the yellow tail and unagi nigiri but scarfed it down so quickly there wasn't time to snap a pic. Will be coming back asap! Love supporting a local business. read more

So good!! We walked in, placed a take out order, and only had to wait 20 minutes for our food to be ready. I ordered the 49ers roll and the Giants roll - they were huge and so, so fresh. I will definitely be coming back. read more

It's been a while since I've been here and I've only been once but will not be back. 20 minutes to get a menu only to find out there is no "kids menu" on it. Wait time for food is forever. After all that, waiters take their own tip from the payment. No thanks. read more

Hisui is conveniently located and their food is very good and reasonably priced. When we dont want to wait in line forever for a table at other premium sushi places, we go to Hisui where we are served equally good or better food right away and lower priced. I highly recommend you check it out for yourself. read more

Wanted to try the "all you can eat" lunches that "Hisui Sushi" offers. We came as party of 3, 2 of us ordered off the "all you can eat" menu, and 1 ordered off the main menu. The "all you can eat" menu was very impressive, right off they took our order, and our food started showing up. The main menu order arrived at the same time and looked amazing. Wonderful food, and a wonderful time, it will be our family gathering place. Thank You. read more

Not only is their sushi fresh and tasty but it offers great value not just the "all you can eat lunch" option but their combination of sashimi and nigiri and rolls! They have a variety of options of combo value to choose from which makes it a great choice anytime. Service is also great as they cater to your specific request! read more

Through the pandemic you crave familiarity and security. I had the opportunity to go to Hisui sushi when Things let up during covid-19 and the speed and accuracy I was greeted with upon arrival where incredible. The waiter took safety precautions, and ensured us the status of the store and the employees were over hygienic. I am a big fan of The food, but that day I was a huge fan of the attention and detail given to the state of how things are rn. read more

Trying so many different sushi restaurants in Sacramento and Hisui is the most delicious sushi restaurant ever. When you eat sushi and sashimi here, you will be impressed because you can taste the fresh and quality of the foods. Sashimi dish, Raiders, momo, hisui special, and garlic emadame are all my fav. Also love the service here, they make our dinner and lunch become more enjoyable and relax. Definitely will come back and try more foods here. read more

My beau and I went on a double date with another couple to Hisui on a Friday evening. They were really busy (pandemic restrictions were just relaxing) and we didn't have a reservation, so we had to wait a good 30 minutes or more for a table. It was super hot out, so that wasn't the greatest, but not a huge deal. Once we got seated we ordered drinks and food right away because by that time, it was getting rather near their "last call". Our waiter (sorry, I don't remember his name) was friendly, funny and knowledgeable. We ordered a few yummy sounding Special Rolls. I think we got a Kamikazi, Mike #88, and one other that I don't recall. All four of us loved everything we ordered and the service was great. Thanks, we'll go there again! read more

Came here again for the AYCE sushi for my daughter's birthday and the food is still on par. I've attached 12 more pix to prove it. Great experience! Seated super quickly-clean-fresh-great service. Did not have to wait for refills and even though they were pretty busy each roll only took about 5 mins to come out after we ordered. Our server was Nick and he was on top of it! Each suggestion was awesome! We will definitely come here again! And they have a changing table in bathroom. Favorites were the prisoner roll and the Johnny Cash roll. read more

I love everything about Hisui except the price!!! I have only been here at dinner, many times for the lunch buffet and last week I decided to give their bento box a try. I enjoyed my grilled salmon and salmon sashimi box. The menu offers a lot of ways you can build your lunch box. The lunch buffet is very generous and you get a lot of quality fish in your rolls. The only thing is you don't get sashimi in the lunch buffet, but you get nigiri options. I think you can order up to 5 rolls per person each time when the server comes around. The service has always been really good so it's a great place to treat yourself after a long workweek to have some fresh sushi here. read more

Josh was our waiter. Great service! Best sushi I've had for awhile. Last place I was at, out if town, was not fresh. Can't say that about this place. Everything we ordered was so tasty. Sorry, I didn't take pictures. I was enjoying it too much. Cherry blossom, Hamachi, Unagi, spicy tuna handroll, cucumber roll, tempura veggies and to top it off...tempura ice cream big enough for two. Really like the fish eggs on the cherry blossom, my first time. Tuna so fresh it reminded me of Kauai. I really think they care if they are giving the customer fresh ingredients. read more

Used to really like this place, but the boss is a total cheapskate. Doesn't run the air during the summer if it's hot, only if a customer requests it, even if the employees are visibly sweaty and hot. He micro manages his staff the entire time and employees look tense and on edge. We used to come almost every week & bring new people with us all the time, get drinks, easily rack up our bill more than expected cause we liked coming here. What set me off was that he gave us grief about a couple pieces of rice, which is cheap as hell to make & buy, & is a filler anyways. Instead of coming up to us personally like a man, like a business owner, he sent his new sheepish employee to tell us we can't leave rice on the plate. Dude has seen us in there every time we've been in, recognized us for sure. We had to ask for the boss, who now suddenly after he sent his employee to our table, was no where to be found. Hid in the back. So He is a cheap coward that doesn't know how to act right. So knowing all that, in good conscience I won't be eating here anymore. Hope others have a better experience than ours! read more

Since the last time We came here and had bad service we decided to give them another try and I'm So glad we did. We had the most amazing service and the owner even came And apologized and made sure our service was amazing and are food was delicious. We moved from the land of sushi places in Hawaii and found this place! Couldn't be happier as it's just 5mins away from our house. Our go to place for fresh sushi in Folsom! Took my parents for dinner and my mom even approved, she said this is the only restaurant thus far that makes their sauce from scratch, she knows her food, she used to be a sous chef. Husband's favorite is all you can eat sushi, my youngest loves spider roll, my oldest chooses unagi roll or the donburi and my mom and I like to share the bento box and we tried almost all sushi (not the ones with cream cheese) and they are good. The staffs are always attentive and friendly and the manager always greet us as we are pretty regulars there. Keep up the good work! read more

Our server Brian was great. He was very attentive and knowledgeable with the questions I've had. My girlfriend got a roll and I did the AYCE lunch. The fish was fish and I ate 20+ pcs of nigiri The reason why I can't give it 5 stars is because one of the workers (upper management of some sort) kept staring at us. I don't know if it's because he thought my girlfriend was going to eat off my plate or what but it made it awkward. read more

My husband and I just discovered this hidden gem and MY GOODNESS it the best sushi we've had. We tend to be a little bit on the snobby side when it comes to sushi. We love good fresh quality fish. This place hands down beats out the chain sushi restaurant on the other side of Folsom. The staff here is so friendly and the sushi is amazing. I highly recommend getting the Tuna Sliders and substitute the regular crab for spicy crab mix (if spicy is your thing). The 49'r roll is great with spicy tuna added! read more

His place is absolutely awesome. The food is outstanding and the service is even better. In the best miso soup I've ever had. I live about 30 minutes away and stopped here on my way home from work. There's another all you can eat sushi place by my house that can't even compare to this one. What's a good food friendly staff definitely want to try this place out read more

Since it wasn't very busy when we arrived, we were seated right away. The dining room is fairly large, with a mix of tables, booths, and counter seating. Each table has a tablet for electronic ordering, but we decided to go old-fashioned and order through our server. We started with a large hot sake and six pieces of gyoza, asking our server to hold the entrées until we finished. The sake hit the spot and paired nicely with the gyoza. The gyoza tasted good but was just a bit harder than we'd like. For the main meal, I ordered a bento box with nigiri sushi and tempura, while the others chose a salmon teriyaki bento box and a Spicy Yellowtail Roll. My nigiri tasted fresh and nicely prepared. I also tried a piece of the Spicy Yellowtail Roll and found it to have a nice flavor profile. The salmon teriyaki was clean and sweet, with a natural salmon flavor, and was tender and juicy. The portions were generous, making for a satisfying meal, and everyone enjoyed their food, although my companions thought the tempura was a bit too oily. Despite the slightly firm gyoza and oily tempura, the good sake, generous portions, and relaxed atmosphere made for a very enjoyable lunch. The highlight for me was sipping the remaining sake and enjoying the nigiri.

TONS of food, which was nice (especially for the price)! both steaks were ordered medium rare; the filet was cooked as ordered and the rib eye was on the medium/medium well side. however, the major bummer with the rib eye was the menu states well marbled but the steak gas VERY fatty when you're paying $62 for a USDA prime, "well-marbled" (per the menu's description) steak, the last thing i'd expect is to describe the steak as more fatty then marbled. the sides were great; the garlic mashed potatoes with the soy wasabi sauce were incredible! SERVICE our server started out very attentive and progressively we saw him less and less throughout the night; waiting for the check, needing water refills, etc. i get that everyone has busy tables and the F&B industry is having a tough time, but dang. at a place like this, i'd expect top notch service throughout the dining experience! AMBIANCE it's very nice inside. super cool bar when you first walk in. lots of spacious seating so you're not sitting on top of one another and modern decor. after having worked in F&B, i totally understand the industry; some nights people call out, larger parties consume the kitchen, etc. but for the price, nothing really seemed to blow us out of the water :( hopefully it was just a bad night that we went. it has a great reputation for a reason! hoping the next visit is a better experience!

I recently visited Hisui Sushi in Folsom, CA after a swim meet. I found this place based on Yelp reviews, but unfortunately, I have to say that it did not live up to its 4.5-star rating. One of the main reasons we chose this restaurant was because they had oysters on the menu, but when we arrived, they were not available. The restaurant was also uncomfortably warm, which made us concerned about the quality of the sushi. We decided to order for the kids first and unfortunately, the katsu and shrimp tempura tasted like it was fried in old oil. However, it wasn't all bad. The sashimi pepper fin was delicious and the nigiri selection was decent. We also enjoyed the tapas, which included options like tuna sliders and igadashi tofu. The waiter claimed the hottest roll, the inferno, didn't have the slightest kick! My kid could have eaten it! While Hisui Sushi had some good dishes, the overall experience was not up to par with its high rating. read more

Going to give 3 stars, as I give a 4 star to their in service normal dining and a 2 star for AYCE. Their AYCE policies are far too strict when it comes to fees/issues. For me, never an issue, but I could see many families with picky eaters, etc. that would suffer from the extra fees Hisui charges for "left rice on plate". I'd recommend the owner to fix the menu to reword "left rice", as that's a very confusing phrase to define. However, their sashimi otherwise is great. Some are phenomenal, some are average. Definitely try the Ono. Creamy texture and just lightly tempts the palate. Their other sashimi options weren't as satisfying, but the quality of the Ono itself merits a good review. We came in party of 7 , cudnt even sit 4 of us down, we had to wait for almost 30m to get seated becuz he wants everybody in the party to get here. I asked to sit down becuz we was hungry and we want to get started on drinks and orders. The waitress sat us down and immediately, the owner came at her and told her he wanted us to wait . He said to her if they don't want to follow the policy they cud leave and he doesn't need us to come and eat! They serve their traditional menu. This place has the best service. Everytime we come here to eat we are never disappointed. But wait it's not just sushi!! Their kitchen food is incredible. Chicken teriyaki takes a little longer but it's really worth it. Cooked fresh to order and grilled to perfection. Try the steak teriyaki too!! I recently visited Hisui for the the unlimited Sushi lunch, and it was a letdown. The only good thing about this place is it's unlimited for only $25, but the fish was not fresh. This experience was quite disappointing, especially since I've dined here for lunch before, and it was never this unpleasant. The rolls seemed overloaded with rice, and the Nigiri meat left a bad taste in my mouth. I had higher expectations, especially after noticing a price increase. All you can eat is an all you can take advantage. I eat so much nigiri for $25 bucks I feel bad for it. Everything on the menu isn't available, but everything I want is. I usually stick to nigiri, but sometimes get appetizers. If I'm being honest, the rice isn't all there, but the fish is good quality. For an all you can eat, this place is amazing. The quality sushi isn't that amazing, however the value of the All-you-can-eat lunch buffet deserves the 4 star review. Now It isn't the worst quality Sushi. Some of the rolls are actually really tasty. Even my wife, who is a non-sushi eater, liked one of their rolls. I will be definitely coming back for the lunch buffet at least twice a month. :-) read more

What an amazing experience it was dining at Hisui Sushi! Excellent food, excellent presentation, staff was excellent. Great selections, yummy rolls and super cool specials. Only small note would be that if you offer All you can eat on a weekend maybe put one extra sushi chef on. Make a point of eating lunch at least once a week there. I guess there had been an ownership change that happened not too long ago. Food is just as good as before but the service took a hit and definitely a lot slower, about 30 mins per 5 item order for ayce. It used to be about 20 mins per order previously. The place used to be packed with diners but today was half full. read more

Had to stuffed myself in half an hour and tried to order more before last call at 2 pm and make sure you have no leftover ! Or else they will charge you ! Sushi are all tasted same, probably the rice is too sour. Over all, 16.95 is a good deal only if you like sashimi when you come for all you can eat ! read more

Definitely a 5 star sushi experience. If you're looking to eat fresh, clean and quality fish and sashimi, then this is the place to go. We just loved every bites. Service was prompt and quick. I was really excited to try this new sushi restaurant when I heard. I got few sushi rolls and miso soup. Food didn't taste really good. Sushi was kind of blend. Also it was pricey. You can go to Mikuni and get better quality sushi for better price intead. read more

All you can eat from 11am to 3pm is an awesome deal. The rolls are made to order so no buffet here, fish tastes extremely fresh. Been 3 times since it opened and still impressed. read more
