They did a great job on my nails but were a little rude , totally ignoring me at times , throwing my hands back at me at being rough with me and tossing my feet and hands around like it was just bad vibes . The girl at the front was nice at least. The most upsetting part was when the lady clipped my inner toenail up vertically , so once it begins growing I'll have to watch for that outbound ingrown toenail , I thought all technicians knew horizontal only for big toes but I guess not . You can only imagine how horrified , when I felt and heard the cracking from the cut and felt it slice into the inner upper corner of my toenail . Very very upsetting , can't describe the disbelief and shock . oh well , had to ask them To close to door twice , they totally ignored me the first time . I practically had to yell at them to get any response . Won't be coming back here sorry UPDATE That toenail is coming in and it's been hell . I still can't believe they cut me that way to make this imbedded crapola happen . Isn't that exactly what they're not supposed To do is CAUSE Ingrown by bad cutting clipping methods . I want to start out by saying that the salon is so cute and I love the interior. Super cool geometric painting on the ceiling and fun floral wallpaper throughout. As far as my experience, it was pretty standard. My pedicure was great and have no negative comments. I decided to get a full set of acrylics and it was mostly good, but the filing is where it went downhill. My tech (didn't get her name) completely buffed my skin as well as my nails. My skin is raw and burning even 1 hour after the appointment. If I'm paying for a service, I want to be completely satisfied. I left and there were chunks of acrylic under my nails and came home to take care of myself. She did not put any oil or lotion on my hands and they were so dry after. Wasn't a terrible experience but it wasn't fabulous either. I know tomorrow I will have scabs on my skin from the file. Really hope it won't be worse than that. Lastly, I did not see any cosmetology licenses anywhere and the salon did not appear very clean. When I went to sit down, my chair had crumbs on it. Pros: clean and updated salon equipment, feels quite luxurious. Open late so convenient for post-work appointments. I've had a solid experience and long lasting (3-4 weeks for fill) gel x/gel builder nails with one of the techs, however he informed me he is not there anymore. Cons: it's really hit or miss depending on who you get. Prices are a bit steep - $170 for gel x and gel pedicure, $70 for gel builder fill. I brought my gf here to get nails done for her literal WEDDING and informed them that's what it was for. She wanted gel x ombré pink/white, nothing super crazy. At the end of the service she noticed some weird spots/cloudiness on her left ring finger and of course asked her to fix it. She did but she did not seem happy about it, even accidentally knicked her in the process. To top it off one of her nails fell off a week after on their honeymoon! I feel so bad for bringing her here and paying that price for nails that didn't even last. I would steer in another direction for nails honestly since there are so many options in Irvine. read more

This place is absolutely beautiful! Conveniently located in Irvine Spectrum Center. Walk-ins are accepted, but appointments are recommended. I had a 1:00 appointment, and they started on me about 10 minutes later. The lady who did my nails was super friendly, but spoke so softly I could barely hear her. That was a little stressful because I had to almost put my ear against the plastic divider to try to make out what she was saying. She's REALLY good at her job though! PRICES: Slightly high. Nail art is more expensive here than most other places. It's over $100 for a full set and swirl nail art. Everyone is offered complimentary Perrier, and adult beverages are available upon request. COVID PROTOCOL: You are asked to wash your hands before they even touch you. All manicure stations have plastic dividers, but the pedicure area is unchanged. Sanitizer is available at all manicure stations. TLDR: This place is AWESOME! Very clean and stylish. ALL employees are super nice and helpful. The skin around my nails is severely damaged, my gel is already chipping and my husband's hands are dry and cracked. We went here a week ago, I got a gel polish and a manicure, my husband got a manicure. My nail tech filed my nails after the gel had already set in, breaking the gel seal. My nails are lumpy and the tech also cut skin on the side of my nail, after she was finished with my nails, as a result the skin around my nails is now callous and hard. My husband had cuticle oil poured all over his hands for a "massage" and now his hands are dry and cracked. Beware of this place and their inexperienced nail techs. read more

Terri gets a 5 star rating today. I asked for the most natural looking nude color to match MY skin tone and she gave me a beautiful set of dip nails in a beautiful color. It will make it seamless as I grow out my nails until they regain their natural strength and I can go back to regular polish or gel. Terri is detail oriented and is very skilled. She also understands me! She gets what I want. Shell suggest and clarify until she and I are on the same page. She also is responsive when I point out things I want done during the manicure if something needs adjustment or fixing - like if there's a fuzzy (but I tell her right away and nicely and politely). They upcharge for everything. I asked for basic mani/pedi with no polish and they charged me almost $100! It was extra to remove old polish because I wasn't getting color...shouldn't that be included in the basic pricing? it was also extra to "make nail shine" because she used a sponge buffer. Said she can make toe nail shine too for $5 more. Complete ripoff and not upfront with pricing. I've been a customer of this location for years. I'm sure one customer leaving for good is no big deal but shame on you for not making things right. So I come in here at 4;15 and said I need to be out of here to make my trip in time by 5:30. Says no problem. I ask for black ombré nails. She makes a complete mess with black powder everywhere. We are now at 5:45 and they tell me they can't fix it and I have to do black tips instead. Okay but won't it show on the bottom black and be a mess? Also isn't tips more time consuming? It's now 6:15, I'm an hour late and I'm forced to pay $75 for this that I'm now going to have to go to a salon on my trip to have them REMOVED and redone. She offered $15 off like she was doing me a favor Despite the black engraned in the pink the black is also bubbly and there's crap underneath because she was wiping things off with her finger and powder and hairs are all in there. I have no words for this. They are charging me $75 for this mess (mind you, a choice SHE made to use messy powder she admitted she saw a demo for on TikTok) and then flustered tried taking it all of. Yep yep hours waisted, nails that look like crap and they had the audacity to try to charge $75. I asked, really you're going to charge full price and not make this right? She stood there with a blank stare. I then asked "do you feel this work properly represents your brand"? She proceeded to tell me she's have to "rip them off my fingers" otherwise. Like I already wasted tWO hours, an hour more than normal being patient trying to give her time to fix it. This isn't a "I'm not happy with her work" review. This is a she literally had black soot looking powder everywhere as a choice to do it that way and I was patient through her learning curve. Then was patient while I waited and trusted her to fix it. Lady got a $15 tip, I paid their oh so kind few dollars discount (more than full price anywhere else), and told them they lost a customer. I always get my nails done here out of convenience. Some experiences have been better than others, but my last service was just bad. I got a gel manicure with gel builder and colored French tip. First off, all of my nails are different shapes. The nail tech went to file my pinky nail and instantly injured my finger causing it to bleed. People make mistakes so I let it go, but she continued to file my nails poorly. I guess she was double booked because the manager/front desk gal came to finish my nails. She did a free-hand French manicure, and I feel like it was rushed and there was no attention to detail. I pointed out to her that one of my nails was lumpy/thick and she filed it down, but at this point I'd already been there for 2 hours and she was doing my nails while also needing to tend to the front desk and the other calls coming in. The lines on my French are sloppy and incomplete. I felt bad because of how busy she was, but my nails suffered the consequences. I also paid for a manicure and didn't get a massage. I should have just paid for a color change at this point. I ended up having to pay a whopping $136 for my nails plus tip and I am soooo unsatisfied. I wish I could have them completely redone, but I didn't have anymore time to spare. If I ended up paying like $80 or something, I'd get over it, but $156 after tip for such poor work is heartbreaking. read more

Last night I got a pedicure. After waiting the correct amount of time that was asked of me before putting on my sandals and leaving, the polish wasn't dry enough and got messed up... some parts were folding and others you could see my bare nail. Someone else tried to fix it by adding more layers of polish. Later that evening and after a couple hours it still wasn't dry and got messed up again. I called today and was told I could come in and get it fixed. I let them know I thought the polish was on too thick. After 1.5 hours of waiting for the polish to dry today, it still wasn't dry enough and got messed up from sitting in a chair with my feet resting on the carpet. I called to inform them the same thing happened again and asked if I could get a partial refund. I was told no and that I could get it fixed again. At this point, I have already allowed them to fix it twice and have spent over 4 hours traveling and waiting in the salon. I have realized the issue is there are too many thick layers of polish for it to dry. After spending my money and time, I am left with bad looking nails. read more

I have been doing my nails for about 5 years now and trust me when I tell you she's glorious! So glad I found this place. She explained everything to me, she told me (unlike all other places I've been to) that my nails are strong enough and that I don't need to add white tips on them, she told me it'd be more expensive and explained everything, she didn't care she'd make less money, she was honest. I never write reviews, but I couldn't not write one with such a HORRIBLE experience!!! They rushed through the service, ignored me when I asked to see the color, they did not listen to what I was asking for, they just slopped through it to get me out the door. If you say anything to them, you get the typical treatment where they start talking about you in their language to each other. Incredibly poor work, a complete slop job!! To add insult to injury, I left with several bleeding, sore cuticles and a big fat bill for THIS experience.. It was $125 for a nail fill with painted on gel builder and a $40 pedicure with callus removal with regular polish. It would be one thing if I actually came out of there with a professional service, but that's not anywhere near what happened. To say I am disappointed is an understatement, I'm actually mad. For what they charge, one would expect more, at least a job well done. I'm not hard to please, but this was a joke. They don't care about their work, or even your bleeding cuticles, they only care about getting you in and out as quick as possible, and charge outrageous prices for a half assed, slop job. Not cool. I don't know about you, but I don't like being overcharged for what a 12-year-old with a bad attitude could've done. My advice is do not give your business to this salon Don't waste your time or money. There are salons who take pride in their work and for those, I don't mind paying more or driving the distance for. read more

New to Irvine Spectrum, Holly and Hudson is located next to Wahoo's Fish Tacos & the wheel. I have never heard of Holly and Hudson before since I live in Norcal, but I was excited to see what services they had to offer due to the sophisticated ambience I saw on Yelp. I did a walk-in at around 9:40am and only had to wait 5-7 minutes until they seated my sister, mom, and me. This was convenient because customers started to pile just ten minutes after we came in! The overall ambience of the place was extremely welcoming and clean. You can definitely feel the sense of sophistication within the interior, which made customers feel like they were getting high quality service. The lady I had (Viola) was quick to attend to my request as I showed her a reference to the glitter ombré nails I wanted. She was able to have a small conversation with me, which was nice (: My sister got another lady named Anne, who also did her nails quite well. However, there was another lady that my mom had and she seemed uninterested/bored. It really killed the inviting atmosphere and experience we were having, which was why I had to knock down a star. read more

Stopped into Holly & Hudson after lunch at Irvine Spectrum. It was a Friday in July and the center was quite crowded being the middle of summer! Took a chance without appointment and lucked out. We were immediately greeted and seated at the nail bar. The salon was busy but not crowded with several open spa chairs. We selected our polish were given bottled water and our manicures began promptly. I appreciated the Covid safety measures they have in place with techs wearing masks and plexiglass glass partitions at the nail bar. Our techs were friendly and proficient. We did a quick, basic mani and I was thrilled to see the price was only $20! Salon feels "upscale" and my daughter and I were happy with the service we received. Definitely will return to try additional services! Nail bar area could use a cleaning. Plexi was smudged and wine glasses (decorative) hanging above nail bar were extremely dusty and in need of a good cleaning. Service felt a bit rushed. My tech may have been a Mgr and thus keeping tabs on the biz. She missed a nail when polishing and then spilled polish on my hand while rushing but in the end my nails looked great! I religiously go to Holly and Hudson. I have always enjoyed their service but today that took a turn. I showed up an hour and 20 minutes prior to closing and the front desk lady rolled her eyes numerous times and just kept saying we aren't taking anyone ((there were ZERO customers in there by the way)). I have a nail that had split and I begged them to take them off - I didn't even need a full manicure or pedicure. Just begging please take them off that's all and she just kept chewing on her pen and rolling her eyes. Listen. It's fine if they take customers til a certain point but the ATTITUDE was absolutely appalling. Will never go back. Seems like they are starting to hire the wrong people. read more
