Ordered online for take out since it was getting late. They did say we can request for room delivery, so I did. I called the restaurant because the confirmation message on their website was a bit confusing. Stated "for pick up" but they asked about room delivery. When I called, a female employee took my order again on the phone and said I will pay when the deliverer is at my room door. Long story short, she was incorrect. You just charge it to your room, and just need to sign the check they bring up. The gentleman who delivered our food was really nice. The prices are a bit high, but expected this much since it is a hotel resort's restaurant + Hawaii. The portions are decently sized though. Food was overall OK. Fish and chips were OK... although the fish was interesting. Not up my alley, but not bad. The tartar sauce tasted a bit sweet too, but not bad with the salted fish. The fried calamari was typical, not bad. The burger had a jam like spread in it, and I thought it went well with the rest of the burger taste, but husband didn't like that. Onion rings were heavily battered... especially can tell with their after taste. Ambiance when at the pool seemed pretty nice, although we didn't get to dine in. For convenience, good try, but I don't think I would go out of my way to visit if not a guest here at the hotel.

We were staying at the resort and had money in credit so we got both breakfast and lunch here. The food is okay. Breakfast is better. The pancakes were good. But everything is very pricey and we had better breakfast elsewhere on the island. Lunch was also okay. Nothing to write home about. The one good thing was their Holoholo pie for dessert. Very tasty. We likely never would have eaten here is we didn't have the credit to spend. If you're at the resort and you need something easy, it's definitely somewhere to go but I wouldn't come here besides that. Also, they served me a water with a dead lizard in it! They didn't even care or really apologize about it.

Calamari- it was a really small plate in the calamari were pretty tiny for the most part

We had a terrific happy hour on a Wednesday. The servers were all super friendly and made great suggestions. We sat on the patio by the pool and luckily the umbrella was large enough to block the sun! The food all tasted great. The crab dip with 6 or 8 pieces of toasted focaccia was high quality with real crab not surimi. We ordered the flatbread with chicken instead of pork and it was also very good with a nice crispy crust and moist chicken chunks. The wedge salad was a large piece with crisp bacon, candied pecans, grape tomato halves and a tasty dressing. It only needed some red onion to make it perfect. The calamari were crispy but the portion size was too small and the pieces of calamari were too small so the ratio of crust to fish was too high.

Fresh catch of the day with asparagus and rice

It was our first night in Kauai after a very long day of traveling. We were looking forward to a relaxing evening. I started with a wonderful glass of brut rose. We were told that the pupi portions were large and could easily be shared. This was true and we split the calamari and my husband found it to be too salty. We both had the fresh catch. He had ahi tuna and I had mancha which I was told was like halibut. It was thinner than halibut and reminded me of mahi-mahi. It was suggested to have it pan seared to make sure it was not overcooked. Well, it was a bit fry from being overcooked. I had a double portion of green vegetables which turned out to be 4 pieces of asparagus. My husband's ahi was served a bit more than seared and rare. His sides were 2 pieces of asparagus and a piece of carrot. In essence we each had a small piece of fish and a small portion of vegetables. This was a mediocre meal in a beautiful setting. They need to step up their game.

We were staying at the hotel and my family and I ate here for a night. We had a large party (party of 12) and called in advance to reserve a table for us. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and enjoyed the crab & artichoke dip and macadamia crusted brie! For entrees, we got the short rib & kimchee fried rice and burger& fries. The short rib &kimchee fried rice was so good!! I had a lot left over and warmed it up later in my hotel room. I definitely recommend getting the macadamia nut crusted brie and asking for additional flatbread! The short ribs and kimchee fried rice is pretty shareable as well

Ambience is lacking. Service was very attentive and friendly. We ordered the hamburgers and they were delicious with tasty beef and super soft buns, sauce was great as well. Onion rings were very good and the salad was very fresh.

We decided to eat here after a long day of traveling because it was located in our resort. The service was great and we were told we could choose any table. The Holoholo burger was good but the sesame Crusted ahi was delicious! I've never enjoyed a seaweed salad but this surprised me! Everything was sauced well and delicious! We ordered the poolside nachos several times for happy hour and the cheese is so good! Definitely recommend!!

This was our breakfast spot for four days straight and we had the opportunity to try out most of their breakfast items. All of them (keiki breakfats, pancakes, surfers burrito, frittata, omelette, Kalua pork hash, and smoothies) exceeded our expectations. It's definitely a nice to try spot in the poipu area. Couple of opportunities (hence -1 star) - there were some suspicious looking stuff in our coffee one morning that shouldn't belong. Told the server. no apologies but she did bring out a new one - smoothie came out about 50% filled one day, had to ask the server correct the problem

Delicious food poolside at the Marriott. I did not realize we'd be at a resort, but c'est la vie. It was peaceful and comfortable in the morning. I had the most delish gluten free avocado toast with eggs. My partner had the French toast. He said it was excellent. Our server was helpful and friendly. She showed up at just the right moments. Expect resort prices, but that goes for Poipu in general. I would definitely eat here again.

    Poke Dinner, very good

I was skeptical of this place only because it was the only restaurant at the hotel we were staying at. A lot of the times the hotels restaurants aren't all that good but I was pleasantly surprised with the dinner I had here. The dinner was great and is 5 stars. I also came for happy hour another time and they only had fried food for happy hour. The fried shrimp and calamari we had was just "average" for that part. The dinner though was good if you order strategically like how we did it. We ordered the steak without any sauce on it and it was cooked really well and was a quality piece of meat. Mashed potatoes were on point. My wife ordered the poke bowl and we shared both the steak and poke together and it made a nice combo of a dinner. The service was as you would expect at a hotel pool side restaurant and we had zero complaints. Ambience is right next to the pool at the hotel with plenty of tents to protect from the rain in case it rains. There is also a covered area, but we choose to sit outside. I am not sure if I would give this place 5 stars had I choosen different items, but I guess because I ordered well, the food that we got was pretty good. I deducted a star for the so-so happy hour menu and food, but the dinner was great.

We were fortunate enough to have this spot inside our hotel. Anyone can eat here so I love that it's open for everyone to try. We ordered breakfast, lunch and dinner at one point during our one week stay. I can say that nothing and I mean nothing disappoints. Their breakfast options were mouthwatering with Mac nut pancakes and French toast. Then we tried their poke bowls many times and loved how fresh it was and an ahi that was incredibly savory. They are generous with their portions and even though you may feel stuffed, you'll finish every last bite. They have great kid options, chicken tenders and onion rings that were crispy and not too oily. I see why people like coming here, they play live music during dinner and the vibes are just perfect on the island. Holo holo keep up the amazing work you put into serving locals and tourists like us, we appreciate your hospitality.

    Lava cake December 2025

For a busy hotel restaurant, this was a good choice. It is near the pool or you can sit at the small bar (10 seats at the actual bar counter). They have live music some nights. The food was made well (lunch bbq sandwich) and the dessert options were good (cheesecake was delicious and the lava cake so just ok). I believe they are also open late compared to other food places in the area.

In the Po'ipu Marriott resort, this place is the go to restaurant for hotel guests but also open to the public. Service is excellent and they can hold a large party. I had breakfast one day and it was solid. The smashed potatoes were my favorite. Thick cut of bacon and eggs came out perfectly. Simple Dinner I had the fish of the day. It was good. Caesar salad was soaking in dressing, too much. Portions were right. Not too much and not small. Prices for dinner were a little on high side but expected for Kauai.

Tried out a new spot in Kauai…read more We were sat promptly. The service was good, clean restaurant. Server was very friendly. We ordered the spicy ramen and the butterfish and both dishes were excellent! The ramen had so many different layers of flavor and I now know why they call it "butterfish", very flavorful and rich for a white fish. The mushrooms were seasoned perfectly. Every bite curated to perfection.

This restaurant is always one of the restaurants we look forward to dining at. I love the ambiance. It's very homey for an upscale restaurant, and the view is spectacular especially if you go early enough to catch the sunset. The staff are very welcoming as soon as you check in for your reservation. I recommend that you make reservations ahead of time. One year we tried to walk in right when they opened and we were told that they did not have any tables available. I ordered the Slow Roasted short ribs, which is one of my favorites. The short ribs were so tender and seasoned very well. Each bite was flavorful. It paired well with the root vegetables and potato au gratin. The poi and the lomi tomato may sound like a strange pairing with the short ribs, but somehow it works. Overall it was a fantastic dish, and very rich to the palate if that is something you're in the mood for. My daughter ordered the Misoyaki Butterfish. I personally have never ordered it as a meal but I think that next time I will. It was so flavorful, and the Asian flavors were delicious. The Chinese cabbage and shiitake mushrooms paired well with the entire dish. The sesame chili sauce that comes on the side just tied everything together. I could not stop going back for more. My husband ordered the ramen and he loved the flavor of the broth. There was a nice spice to it that was not overpowering. Let's just say, he finished the entire bowl. We also ordered a regular chocolate soufflé and a peanut butter soufflé which were both delicious. I recommend them both. I knocked off a star because the waters weren't always filled when you needed them to be, and I found myself wanting more water but it took a while for the server to fill them. The plates weren't cleared readily (as you would expect) and we waited 20 minutes after our meal was completed for the soufflés. Usually the server would ask ahead of time if the table would like to order a soufflé because it takes about 20 minutes to bake. We told our server we wanted to order soufflés pretty much when we ordered our entrees. So I'm not sure why we waited so long for them. Overall, this is a fantastic restaurant and I highly recommend you dining here!
