We ate here for both breakfast and dinner. Many things looked great to us and between the two of us we tried many things! The calamari was tender. The avocado toast was delicious, especially the little tomatoes. The drinks were decent but overpriced (like all the drinks here). The chicken bites app was good. Both poke dishes were good too! Staff good be a little more friendly considering this is a customer service based destination. Went into the bar for my complimentary "free welcome drink", and thought bartender interaction was not friendly at all. Although bar was not busy at all and only ordered complimentary drink, doesn't mean attitude should be included. I even left a tip even though I got the attitude. Management - please stress first impression of a facility goes a long way with customer service and personal experience from your customers. They had spaced out seating to keep everyone socially distant and there was only about 6 tables total when we went. They were well staffed with 3 servers and a manager. Better than we expected for a pool side restaurant. The first night we arrived, we walked down for a quick dinner and were pretty impressed. Friendly service and the food arrived quickly but there were only about 3-4 tables filled. The coconut shrimp was tasty but you only get a few shrimp which was surprising. The chicken salad was good as well but we only found one piece of chicken in the whole dish. The pool side service was average at best. We sat down by the pool at 5:10pm or so and the waitress asked us if we closed out our tab. Confused, we told her we just sat down and would like a menu if possible. She told us they were taking last call but she'd put in an order for us, which we appreciated. We were just confused because the pool was still packed but they were cashing everyone out. We tried a Caesar salad and a chicken rice bowl. Both were pretty good for being a pool side service. We also used a voucher for two free mai tais which were fine. I also had a $10 off voucher from the front desk for being a platinum member with Marriott and she simply told me she's never heard of that and wouldn't take it. Which was strange because it literally says you can use it anywhere at the resort during our stay, including alcohol. Overall, food was above average for pool side service. The staff was friendlier when we actually sat down at the restaurant rather than ordered by the pool. Confused about our $10 voucher but if the waitress seriously never heard of these vouchers for platinum guests, that isn't necessarily her fault. read more

Holoholo grill used to be a good place to get food, but since the pandemic it seems like things are rough. I am really disappointed that when we made a reservation for breakfast the earliest we could get was 11:30am. That wasn't the bad part, the bad part was that when we tried to check in the hostess was rude. She informed us they stopped serving breakfast at exactly 10:30 am and we had to wait till 11:45am to get seated for lunch and still at least a 20 min wait. On the website and the menu it says they stop serving at 11. After that we left to come for breakfast. She could have been nicer about it. I understand things can be slow, but we waited almost an hour after we sat down from the table to get food. The food wasn't quite the same but close. This time the staff was more kind despite the long waits. As I have posted images of the food last time the plating and plates are different. The meat in the hash tasted like it wasn't seasoned well this time. The breakfast burrito was different too. I forgot to add that they also forgot to give back our card and then crossed out the signature spot so we had to get it rung up twice. Overall I'd say the food was a 3.5, but that hostess and the wait time was a 1. The rest of the staff were good. read more

Clean space (had to be with several birds waiting to dive empty tables for leftovers), prompt service, and quality food. We went with their banana macadamia pancakes and taro bread French toast. Both were excellent. The pancakes had banana in them, caramelized bananas on top, and macadamia bits sprinkled on top. They were served with butter and syrup as usual, but also had a delicious coconut sauce as well. And they were HUGE. We loved them and still could only get through half of them. The French toast was more fruity, with a fruit cream spread on top, with fruit pieces on top of that, and syrup on the side. They were delicious as well, and not quite as overwhelmingly big. If we had any time left on the island, we'd be back for their banana pancakes. Alas, maybe one day we'll cross paths again. read more

This place was awesome and definitely worth visiting. There was about a 20 min wait for our table so we decided to sit at the bar and get a drink while we waited. Besides the giant praying mantis that landed on me (that my boyfriend took a picture of on me before telling me it was there) they made some great bloody Mary's to sip while we sat by for our table. Once seated, service was good and efficient, food came out in a timely manner and was super delicious. My hash was REALLY good. The fruit plate was nothing special IMO. The orange juice was not freshly squeezed. Poolside menu: I had the Holoholo burger which had the wagyu beef patty and my wife had the garden burger with fries. We enjoyed both our burgers. I didn't care for the sweet tomato jam on my burger.
