I've eaten lunch here about a hundred times going back as far as I can remember. It's the best value in the area (the Old Country Buffet is in the same complex and is more expensive, and OCB dosen't include drinks). Went to this place with a big group of people. 13 in total. We had 6 kids and 7 adults. The guy at the register took advantage of the fact that it was a big group and we got overcharged. He charged everyone like adults and we didn't even realize this until we did the math. We should have realized this on the spot, but we didn't. The food was ok. I went for lunch and all I can say is ... this justifies my reason for not eating at large buffet restaurants. This place is HORRIBLE! Why? Many reasons: - It's not clean and the food is gross (luke warm or cold). - Everytime I picked up a serving spoon, it was sticky or wet (YUCK). - I found two items that were half way descent the steamed vegetables and pot stickers and that was when they brought them out hot. Otherwise, I didn't find one thing that I could actually eat without throwing it away. - I wasted so much food, I was ashamed of myself! - I agree with the other reviewer the sushi was probably the best dish they offered. But by the time I made my way over there, I was so fed up I didn't even want the sushi. Everytime I eat here I think about jeans. The reason? The same space used to be a GAP for years and years. This is a very large Chinese buffet, which is a step above the smaller neighborhood ones. However, the prices are a bit more and I find the variety overwhelming. As with all buffets you sacrifice quality for quantity. There are some great items on the buffet, but many are just mediocre. After all the bad reviews I was scared to try this place. It was the opposite of what many said. We went on a Sunday afternoon. Maybe it depends on the time of day. Only complaint is that the food was very greasy... But it's Chinese. What would you expect? Food was steaming hot. Everything was being freshly refilled every few minutes. Service was great. Never returned to dirty played at the table. Best service I've ever had at a buffet. Lots of seafood! Tons of fish, shrimp, and crawfish. Almost wished they had fewer seafood dishes. Also had sushi. How they are keeping the lights on is beyond me. They have hundreds of tables yet, there are only a few occupied. The food was just the average china buffet food. However, most carry at least one high end item like crab legs for example. This place had no high end items on the buffet. Most of the seafood was spicey, a trend I am seeing across all china buffets. I am not sure if its to appeaze to their spanish customers or to keep others from eating to much by loading it with spice. I wish them luck in the future but I believe the end is near. read more

We have been to many chinese buffets all over the country and must say that this is one of our favorites. The place is huge and the price is very reasonable. They have a huge selection of food, which includes a variety of seafood (crawfish, shrimp, crabs, fish, etc etc). Of course, we didn't go for the sushi because sushi is never ever good in chinese buffet places. If you select your dishes carefully, you could definitely have a great meal here. My wife and I came here a few days ago for dinner. Our last visit here was fine but most recently I noticed that the value of this restaurant has went downward. I witnessed dishes that aren't completely clean, numerous amounts of food which weren't replenished and many dishes that were either lukewarm or cold...and this was right around 7pm (typical dinnertime). I shaked my head, tried to tell her that I'm not done - and she looked at me with weird eyes... It was 4:00 PM. Ok, so I DO stay there for a long time. I ALWAYS HAD. But its a buffet - ALL YOU CAN EAT. I have the RIGHT to stay as long as I WISH. The owner came up to me and said ... BEFORE YOU LEAVE, GO UP FRONT TO PAY FOR DINNER. I said ..OK - thinking WHY??? I sat there until 4:34, debating should I pay - or should I argue? I admit, $3 more is not a lot of money - I could pay , but then again... WHY SHOULD I? If I paid for lunch and could only eat the food that was served at lunch - Maybe they should LABEL the FOOD... telling me which ones I CAN and CANNOT eat. Maybe they should not allow anyone to enter the place from 3:29-4:30. So those who PAID for LUNCH will not eat their DINNER food. Oh Im sorry that I stay too long and ate too much of your food. "DONT EVER COME BACK", he screamed - tried to make me look like the bad person so EVERYONE would turn their eyes on me. "IF YOU DON'T ALLOW YOUR CUSTOMERS TO EAT ALL THEY CAN, MAYBE YOU SHOULD TAKE OFF THE SIGN - AND SHUT DOWN THE PLACE. IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD IT - DONT ADVERTISE IT." I replied. Opened the door, with a few customers walking in - I turned around and said - "DONT WORRY - I'LL NEVER COME BACK" --- The lady walked out with me - and asked what happened? I stood right there for them to observe - telling her exactly what happened. Inside, all of them - owner, waitors looked at me with their judgmental eyes. On the way out, the old lady told me - they asked her to leave at 3:30 because it was dinner time. She argued because she has only been there for 15 minutes. They allowed her to stay - but only eat the lunch food. Well, maybe the moment they saw that I ate their DINNER food, they should have tell me the exact same thing they did to the old lady. I wouldn't mind. But I dont think they have any right to treat their customers like that . Just because I'm young and look innocent does not give them the right to pick on me. Don't waste your money on them because they don't deserve it. They can't and will never be able to live up to their ALL YOU CAN EAT. They cant keep their promise ... Go to Jumbo Buffet on Ashland. Its a lilttle further - a bit more driving, but it is CLEAN - and you can eat all you want - STAY as long as you like. +++ Its under new management - cheaper than before!!! Filth Palace. If they provided an equivalent of toilet-seat covers for their booth tables--the seating experience may have been better. The food that was left lying around on the floors looked as appetizing as the food in the buffet itself. They had a little bit of everything--peking duck that looked like roadkill, and sushi in indescribable, never-before-seen shades and hues. And the best was saved for last--a self/soft serve ice cream machine that you walked away from with feet sticking to the floor, and a harmonious squish-squish sound at every step. Terrible experience. The party room was rented out to an Indian celebration with extremely loud Hindi music and screaming children running around unsupervised. Three children wresteling over toys in the dining room and fell onto a table where a woman was eating. The kids were pushing and touching her dinner and herself!! Man where do I begin? Let just dive into the fact that when you walk in its hot as hell in there. The food is sub par, from being over cooked to missed spelled and labeled. The employees had no clue on what some of the American dishes were. And don't get me started on the condition of the restaurant. From crumb filled floors to an alluding scent. It was bad. And as if anything else couldn't go wrong, of course the food gave me the runs. Hastily walking to the bathroom only to find 2 toilets in which both were out of tissue. And a loose toilet seat. Thank god they had paper towels. I do commend the toilet for the strong flushing powers. This place is a joke to authentic Chinese cuisine. I only stumbled upon this place. I get it. This is a chinese buffet. If you are expecting gourmet, don't go to a chinese buffet. This, however, was the absolute worst chinese buffet I have ever been to in my entire life. They had a massive selection of food. There was a variety of chinese stir fries, fried rice, lo mein, and all the other usual suspects. There was also, oddly enough, pizza, onion rings, and chicken nuggets. Let's go down the line with dishes that I had: Chicken with broccoli. First off, it was cold. It wasn't even a little warm. It was literally cold throughout the dish. The dish was oversalted, oversauced, and the Broccoli was brown mush. Beef with broccoli was the same story as the chicken with broccoli, but with one thing that made it worse. The beef was fatty, full of gristle, and stringy. It was awful beef. Lo mein wasn't half bad-tasting, but it was cold and there were some crunchy noodles indicating that it had been sitting there a very long time. Green beans were cold, saltey mush. Salmon was cold, and had two tastes to it: super fishey and super saltey. Don't get me wrong. I love salmon. I expect salmon to taste like fish. It's certainly not a bland fish. But, this salmon had a strong rotting fish taste to it. It was putrid and nasty. The overwhelming amount of salt barely covered it up. I had to spit it back out onto the plate. If you read through the above dishes again, you will notice that every single dish that was supposed to be warm was cold. Literally, the food on the buffet was cold. I get that it is a buffet, and I am not expecting everything to be super hot as if it was made special just for me, but something is wrong when the food is literally cold. The one dish that was warm: sushi. The sushi also had crunchy rice in it making it even worse. You know a buffet has a serious problem when the lo mein is cold and the sushi is warm. Fresh fruit for dessert looked appetizing, but then I got a closer look at the pineapple and apples. The apples were brown and mealy. The pineapple had massive brown spots and was literally rotting in the tray. It also was improperly cut, with large chunks of the rock hard center (normally removed) still intact along with big pieces of pineapple skin on the outside. Whoever cut up the pineapple was either being lazy or just doesn't know how to cut pineapple. That was just the problems with the food. The dining room was filthy. I literally had to search to find a clean table. I went through 7 plates and 13 forks to find a clean one of each. My glass appeared clean, but one I filled it with water, I noticed several things floating in it. A second glass didn't do the same but the water had the chemical taste of dish cleaning detergent as though it had been improperly rinsed following cleaning. They also go down a point in my book for serving pepsi products (I prefer coke). If you're looking for cheap eats, save your money and go elsewhere. There are too many great cheap restaurants in this city (including other chinese buffets) that it simply isn't worth it to waste your money or your time at this place. Tried all the chicken dishes...all were rubbery. Fried rice was tolerable. Soup was good. There was no single dish that I liked, although my teenage son liked all of them! This is one of those restaurants that are for people who have, shall we say,an "acquired-taste". Went here because I was Starving after going to the Home Depot across the street, and I didn't feel like waiting for a Table or Ordering/Cooking Time. The Food is OK (Good Variety and Acceptable Taste). The Facility is Extremely Dingy. The Bathroom is Gross to the point of Walking Back Out without Using. Staff is Friendly and Quietly Competent.
