I work nearby so my coworkers and I were so excited to have a food option so close to our office. It seemed to take forever for the restaurant to actually open, so we were surprised to see people inside dining. I think it opened a couple weeks ago and we decided to give it a try today. We went at 12:30 to find a line of 10 people ahead of us, but the line went quickly. I've had ramen a handful of times, but by no means am an expert. I ordered the spicy pork tonkatsu ramen (no spicy) and added corn from their specialty ramen menu. The speciality menu is on the wall and it has 12 photos, however it doesn't specify what is in any of these options, it would be helpful to get descriptions for these items. Back to the food...my order came out in 10 minutes, faster than I thought for how crowded it was. Overall the ramen was good, the broth was flavorful and the pork was easy to eat, however they forgot my corn. I wish I known what was in the ramen because I would have added more toppings. We've been excited to try the place ever since it opened and I'm so glad we finally did. My wife and I both got the "build your on" bowls of Ramen. First off, the portions are MASSIVE. I am a heavy eater after a run and even I was struggling to finish my bowl. My wife ended up packing almost half to go. I got the Tonkotsu with Pork and a bunch of toppings. The broth was rich and creamy and delicious. Top it up with some of the smoked chili oil on the table and a little togarashi and it takes it up to the next level. The Noodles were okay. I wish they had an option to choose between thin and thick noodles so that we could pick depending on the broth as well as the option to specify whether we want then soft or chewy. The two slices of fatty pork belly were fantastic, simply perfect. The other toppings you can customize as much as you like and they are very generous with them. My wife got the Veggie Miso ramen. The difference between the regular Miso and this one is that the former is pure miso soup while this has a dashi and tare component too adding flavor. For this one, I would definitely recommend the low sodium option. We got the regular and it was way too salty; delicious and flavorful but too salty. Note: The tempura crumbs sound like a good idea in theory but they are so tiny that they just become a soggy greasy mess so I will skip them in the future. Just a personal preference. Overall this is a relatively no frills solid bowl of ramen for a fantastic price. The staff is very friendly, the kitchen known what they are doing and are good at it and overall it's just solid comfort food. I feel they are going to give Kizuki a run for their money in the coming year. Looking forward to going back for more, especially in the winter. read more

After a few weeks of holiday indulgence, it's nice to hit reset with bowls of ramen from Hong noodle in Bellevue (Eastgate) loaded with lots of veggies. They also have a location in Redmond. I like their "create your own" bowls so I can customize the protein and broth.  Unlike most ramen spots, they let you pick as many toppings as you want, so for my veggie-packed version, I chose: - Bamboo shoots - Bean sprouts - Cabbage - Sweet corn - Sesame seeds - Wood ear mushroom - Zucchini If I weren't trying to eat healthy, I'd also get their fried garlic, sesame seed puree, and tempura crumbs - yum! You can also ask for a low sodium broth. Since there's already plenty of veggies, for a lower carb meal I actually save half the noodles for another day. They carefully package the soup separate from the bowl of noodles, protein, and toppings, so it's pretty easy to control your carbs before pouring in the soup. Tonkatsu soup is meh... Charsiu are sliced thin, no eggs, as it's and add-on. Plenty of noodles however. Eggs are overcooked, and lack flavor. Not marinated long enough or the sauce is too thin? Not sold on the kimchi noodles... May work for vegetarians... Squid kara-age was good, but was hoping for a bit more. The food here is amazing! got the seafood spicy noodles, friend chicken wings and potstickers my friend got the spicy beef with rice. Everything was made with love. The portions were good and the meat was plentiful. They followed the pandemic pre cautions. Tables are spaced out. I can't wait to try the other noodles in soup next time!! read more

Ordered the spicy signature tonkotsu ramen and portion was large enough to share between 2. If you get this ramen, would recommend to not dump the entire portion of veggies in with the broth as it came out a little bit too spicy for us since the spices are in the veggies and not the broth. The pork chashu donburri was also a great choice, meat was tender, small portion was very generous. Ok, after going to the Redmond location and not being impressed, I was sad to see another one pop up in my neighborhood. We decided to check it out anyways and I must say it's much better than the Redmond location! It's bright with spacious tables and my spicy tofu ramen was good!! My kids devoured their kids bowls and we also tried my friend's order of karaage which wasn't as good as other ramen shops but decent. Definitely will be back because it's just the hill from me! I tried the signature ramen and several of the Izakaya (snacks): -Chicken wings ($12.99) -Okonomiyaki Pan Cake ($10.99) -Geso Karaage (Deep fried squid) ($9.99) The ramen was ok, the soup wasn't as rich or flavorful as some other places on the Eastside. All of the foods I ordered have very strong taste...to me. They are either too salty or too greasy. I ordered salt and pepper chicken wings and the oil dropped from the chicken made a small puddle on the bottom of the bowl. Cheese corn was also the same. The amount of butter added is too much to me. The pork belly soup was too salty, even when pairing it with rice. The soup itself doesn't come with rice and has to be ordered separately. I think I would give the restaurant an overall 4.5 stars, if possible. The food was solid but not the best ramen I've ever had. The impressive part was that they had a pretty wide selection, so there was something for everyone, and the portions were very big! Overall, really enjoyed coming here for lunch on a work day because the self-order station was super convenient and the food came out really fast. A solid new ramen place in my neighborhood makes me a pretty happy camper! We ordered takeout since this was during Covid times, the service was prompt and the food was packaged well. My husband got the spicy tonkotsu ramen with pork chashu ramen, while I had the spicy nagasaki seafood ramen; we both preferred the chashu ramen as the broth was creamier although the seafood ramen was tasty too. Both ramens were spicy enough to make our nose run and we like spice! They don't ask you for a spice level so if you're spice averse, I would ask for mild. Would recommend and order again! This is such a convenient spot right at the bottom of the neighborhood and right off I-90. They were preparing to open for so long, almost a whole year, it's nice they've finally opened and gotten settled. My go to is the spicy chasu ramen with an egg, which always hits the spot. This time while dining in, I got the spicy seafood ramen with an egg. The seafood (2 shrimp, 8 octopus slices, 4 squid) wasn't that flavorful and didn't add any texture cause the squid and octopus' slimy texture. The egg and veggies were very cold. The place was pretty popular for a Sunday night, and it was even more popular on Valentine's Day. The place is cafeteria-ish style--you order at the counter and can customize your ramen bowl at the front. It's a great concept here for those who like their own unique dishes. They most likely need more registers/cashiers to keep up with the steady business, but overall nice setup. Regarding food, there are a lot of options. You can order ramen, katsu, dons, and more. There are also a lot of side dishes ranging from shaved ice to karaage to french fries. I ended up ordering one of their pre-set meals (Spicy Tonkatsu Pork Ramen) which my dad also ordered. My mom made her own tonkatsu ramen for $10.99. When we got the food, I was pleasantly surprised by how large the portions are!! The spicy tonkatsu broth was a bit oily, but it had good flavor. The chicken karaage was okay...not my favorite but not bad. Fries were good! The plain tonkatsu broth definitely needs a bit more flavor (my mom's DIY ramen). Overall, this place is great being new and open late (1am on Friday and Saturdays!). Portions are LARGE and prices are very reasonable. Quality of food is meh (Kizuku is more expensive yes but better quality), but honestly not bad. Overall, the place is a solid 3/5 stars. Hong Noodle is not the type of place you go to for high-grade izakaya or authentic Hokkaido-style Japanese ramen. Hong Noodle is for those who are looking for large-portioned decently priced (at least in this economy) Japanese-Korean-Hawaiian fusion. Each individual dish is not necessarily stellar on its own. You will find better teriyaki at a *drumroll* teriyaki shop and better ramen at well, you know. But for a place that serves all these things and more, the food quality is pretty darn good. The service also deserves high commendations. Food comes out very fast and they were very careful to vet our food allergies against their ingredients. Friendly staff and also very clean restaurant even though customers bus their own tables. I eat a lot of ramen and a lot of hot pot. This place is an absolute joke. Also this is my first negative review ever. It's soooo bad. Go to boiling point or happy lamb for hot pot and go to kizuki or somewhere else for ramen. No table service, they are using cheap top ramen noodles. No spoons except plastic ones, overcharging for their terrible food. The pictures looked really good but the food was nothing close to the photos. Btw the broth is top ramen seasoning with some chili oil. Please avoid. Updating review... so their hot pot was so skimpy... that immediately after I had to get a gyro down the street. There was literally like only 12os of broth that took up half a medium size bowl and in this half bowl no food was even visible. It was all buried under 1 1/2 inches of broth. Like 2 shrimp, 3 muscles, 2 octopus tentacles, and a few slivers of cabbage. It was literally about 2 bites of food for 16.99$ huge scam. The gyro was great though. read more

Prices are going up everywhere however comparatively this place is cheaper than most in the Bellevue area for a medley of quick Japanese foods. We ordered easily on the huge screens and paid with pick up working seamlessly. The chicken karage, fries, ramen with dipping sauce, gyoza and char su rice came out well prepared and well seasoned for the type of quick Japanese foods one usually has with an alcoholic beverage. The ikazaya fare is more appetizer tastings that encourages one to try a medley of foods. The chicken karage was hot, crispy with subtle soy sauce, ginger, sesame tastes complementing the fries which were good but just a tad soggy. The noodles were al dente and less ramen tasting with a thick salty/peppery miso dipping base. The rice and char su pork was sprinkled with a little red ginger. The char su pork appeared to have the same flavor and preparation for the rice and noodle dish. Finally the gyoza was good and deep fried with a small amount of filling however way too expensive for 5 measly pieces- not worth it. However, we will definitely be back. So I didn't get that coldness that totally cooled down our dishes. The dishes were nice and hot and edible. The bowls were big and lots of noodles like almost double of other typical ramen places. Your get to choose your sides. The only thing I think they could be more efficient in their front desk and getting the sides. We went during lunch for in-person eating. Not busy at all. The four of us ordered four different ramen and 2 sides. The only good thing was the takoyaki. The husband order spicy tonkatsu and it was meh. My kids' plain ramen was fine. The karage was really hard and dry. My tsukemen was inedible!!!! I don't know if we went on an off day but my tsukemen was so bitter (and I am a black coffee drinker)!!! I think the chef might have burnt the sauce. I took a couple bites and couldn't bring myself to finish it. My tongue was completely coated with that burnt, bitter taste. My husband tried and complained how bitter it was also. I wasn't going to write this review purely based on the food. I thought we probably just went on an off day. Restaurant business suffered so much during this pandemic. I know it has not been easy. But I had to write this review because of the crappy, borderline racist service we received. When our food were ready, the server had us pick up our food by the counter. As mentioned, we ordered 4 ramen and 2 side dishes, so I kept shuffling back and forth from our table to the counter. I didn't think too much of it as I thought it was their policy. However, another family (really don't want to make this a race issue, but this family was Caucasian). The server brought their food TO THEIR TABLE! I don't understand this discrepancy?
