We went on a Friday day night and there were no lines or waiting. Now how awesome is that. They have a new look and new lay out I loved it. There is plenty of seating and it looks more open. First of all.... I never experienced a witness and Direct Customer discrimination at Hooters... They always seem like a fun and open place... I went to Hooters yesterday with my friend to celebrate Father's Day. She had and email Rewards email for purchase 10 wings get 10 boneless wings free. The server said that it was just for fathers when we attempted to use the offer. My friend is a single parent and stated she should qualify as she is both mother and father. The server took a picture of the email and said she would check with the manager. My friend directly asked her to please let her know what the manager said. The server returned with our food but literally dashed off before we could get any follow-up. I have been going to Hooters loyally since 2002 specifically this location. It's bothersome to know that as a Rewards member myself, but service was being denied and two there was never any follow-up from either the waitress or management regarding my friend's request. When you are a girl and walk into this restaurant, it's called bravery and you know that girl doesn't care that the servers are all wearing ... who knows what that clothing is called. Well, if I was a server I'd appreciate the women that did come through, but the exact opposite happened. The server was mean, wore the wrong name tag because she couldn't find her, she was super stuck up and told the guys not to call her by her name tag name, took the girls orders last and the males first, only asked the males if they needed anything, and never came around to refill our drinks. We ordered food but it was nothing great at all. All of use left over half of what we ordered on our plates. The fried pickles were dripping with cold oil. The burgers smelled rotten. The fried were dry and flavorless. The salad was premade so much ahead of time, the leaves were wilted, soft, and drenched in dressing. The Daytona beach wings are tasty, and I also like the spicy garlic. The hot wings are fairly mild, but all of the wings are typically large, full size wings, which I appreciate. I've been coming to Hooters since puberty. One thing that is always consistent is the food. Hooters have the best buffalo wings in my opinion and I rate all other's wings against Hooters. I have never had a bad batch of wings here. Over the years, the place has not changed much which I think is actually going to hurt them in the future with places like Twin Peaks opening up here recently (which I am an even bigger fan of). Other items to try that are good is their fish sandwich and their fried pickles. Curly fries are hit or miss. Three-mile island is the only way to go with the wings and if you are brave enough, order a side of Bentley sauce to kick it up a notch and still not be in too much pain. read more

I went here on a Friday night and sat at the table in the back corner. The hostess was nice but my waitress never approached me to take my order. I had to tell the girl who was waiting on the table next to me to help. She then proceeds to tell me that my waitress will be right there to take my order. Ten minutes pass and still no waitress. The other waitress that told me to wait then comes back and says our waitress is in the restroom. I ask her what her name was and she couldn't tell me because I know she was lying and she was our actual waitress. She tells me she just wants to go home and will take my order now. Well I can now lay to rest the age old argument that people come to hooters for the wings ...the wings suck. I got the lemon pepper flavor and general tso's and they were dried out and lacked flavor - wing stop is 500x better and fresher - I think our wings were sitting on the line for a while, which explains why it took so long for our food to come out. Based on the name of the restaurant I prepared myself for the amount of titty I would see but I could have never prepared myself for that amount of ass hanging out... Dear Hooters, What happened to you old friend? There was a time when I didn't have to show great shame and remorse for grabbing a meal there. You lived up to the delightfully tacky yet unrefined motto. Oh sure, the food was average, but those buffalo wings brought me in. And by buffalo wings, I mean buffalo wings and not the scantily clad waitresses. Flash forward to my recent San Antonio trip. My friends wanted wings, and Hooters was nearby. So why not? Um, because the wings have seriously gone downhill in the last decade, that's why not. In the meantime, the waitress' outfits have gotten more revealing to make up for it, which really isn't my cup of tea. This serves the best chicken wings overall. I love the breaded wings with bleu cheese. They use a relatively mild butter sauce all the way to the hot level, then switch to something like a picante sauce at 3-mile and above. Huge difference. I usually go with hot because the 3-mile tends to ruin your taste buds after a while. I've been able to finish, just barely, 20 wings. 10 is a little too small for me. Their flapper wing pieces come with the end piece on it. It's best to eat the end piece whole up to the first joint. The area up to the second joint has two pieces of bone that you have to watch out for. Above that area, you get the the traditional flapper meat with two big bones and the meat will slide off in this area. One downside is that you cant bite off the bone tip like at Wingstop because Hooters does not fry until crispy. However, the meat will slide right off. This is also a good place for affordable oysters. It comes out to something like $1.10 cents a piece, which is pretty good vs other oyster bars. Something about the way they shuck it tends to leave the shell on the meat itself so be careful or you might chip a tooth. I give this place a 4 for really good wings, good value, and consistency between stores. read more
