We visit this Longhorn steakhouse location pretty frequently. Other locations in San Antonio have consistent slow business and this one is always the best. Great management and super friendly servers. We love Longhorn because they can accommodate all of our dietary needs/restrictions. They have great portions (for the kids meals, too!) and some of their appetizers could literally be a meal. Don't forget to get the free bread and butter but don't fill up too much on it !!! We were delighted to have exceptional service when we went for New Year's Day! I always get nervous ordering a steak due to many places not tempting it correctly, I was NOT disappointed at all here! It was perfection! Their Cesar salad is my absolute favorite compared to other restaurants. They are not stingy at all on the portions of food! We went to Longhorn steakhouse for lunch. Their lunch menu had a good variety of choices. I decided to get a sirloin 6 ounce with the baked potato and also ordered a side salad. My friend ordered prime rib and the baked potato. I was surprised that the sirloin was so large in appearance and really tasty. I got it medium rare, which is normally when I order the waitress said that that's the best way to order the sirloin otherwise it gets sort of chewy. Baked potato was good but more sour cream than anything else very little cheese my friend thoroughly enjoyed the prime rib said it was delicious. Our waitress was Lisa and she was excellent, she always made sure that our drinks were full. She'd come by and see if we needed anything without being overbearing. She was very funny and spent a few minutes talking to us which we normally talk to the waiters and waitresses, she had a very good sense of humor. Ten years ago, I visited Longorn Steakhouse. I was not impressed; today I gave them another chance. Sigh.... Restaurant was not busy. It took our waiter 15 minutes to show up. He was surly almost to the point of rudeness. We ordered ice water since the tea brewer was broken. We also ordered the Tonion which was tiny pieces of onion buried under a thick batter. They tasted fake...not like normal onion rings. (Waiter removed them from our table even though there were plenty left on the plate. He didn't even check to see if we were done!) Companion ordered the best item: the parmesan crust chicken was delicious. My 6 oz sirloin was OK but tough. Baked potatoes were adequate at best. We ordered the now returned Spinach Artichoke dip. The chips that came with it were delish and crunchy. It def paired well with the dip! I have not been here in a while shortly after Covid. Decided something different and give this restaurant another try. Wow! The first the restaurant is really clean, staff is very friendly. Seated without much delay at all, waiter immediately present to bring drinks and ask about appetizers. The menu has a great variety of options. Later was knowledgeable, very friendly and checked back frequently to make sure I had drink free refills without even asking. The food was delivered, hot, correct and steak was served as requested for temperature. The food was excellent. We had the cheddar stuffed mushrooms, which I remember from previously, but these were awesome and tasty. Now that we have tried this restaurant is back on our list of must see to come back and try more! When I informed the white female manager, she deferred to the server and let him continue serving customers. Football playin, country music, and cowboy paraphernalia. Now let's talk about the food. The bread, warm and fresh, but nothing special. I had the 9oz filet, side salad, loaded mashed potatoes, and topped with the sautéed mushrooms. Filet was cooked perfectly, I asked for rare and it came out just like I asked for. Perfectly seasoned as well! The salad had way to much ranch dressing, I'd ask for it on the side next time as it was way to much, but it had nice flavor. Also the cucumber and tomato didn't add much for me. Loaded mash, were good. Fully loaded full of flavor. Bacon, cheese, green onions, butter, and sour cream. And the mushrooms. So disappointing, tastes as if they were just out of a can and then headed in a pan. No butter, no salt, no seasoning. Completely done with this place now, on 4 Nov 2025, I have given better reviews for this place, but today was outrageous .I usually go here often enough, Im familiar with some of the staff, including the waitress, Marjorie. She knows what my drinks are and is usually pleasant. Today she just grabbed me a Heineken and I hadn't even said I wanted it, I also get a water and unsweet tea to go and she knows this. Then I had to ask for my water and unsweet tea and she was like sweet and I said no, she said I said sweet . She knows I don't drink that and she said no I don't and you said sweet. Service was a clown show. The first thing the server said as out group was sitting, was that if we were going to split bills to sit next to the the people were were splitting with to make it easier. There were no place settings on the table when the water and first round arrived so I asked for our napkins. Our server was Gabby and the manager in charge was Isaac. Our meal was the Flo's Filet and Lobster. The service provided by Gabby, it was nothing short of excellent. Polite, courteous and in every way professional. Isaac checked on the service provided, as well as to the satisfaction of the meal, 2 times. I was also very satisfied with the cost/value of the food selection. We have went to many a steak house paying a lot more and did not receive the quality of dinner selected. I love Longhorns Steakhouse. Went last night and was very disappointed in the caliber of steak. I ordered the 12 oz. Ribeye and when it came to the table it was"different" than what I normally expect. Ordered medium rare and it was basically well done. It was so thin, probably hard to do medium rare. I rarely do this but sent it back. Second steak had the same dismal appearance but was somewhat medium rare. I don't know what they are doing, but these steaks basically look like they came from a very cheap steakhouse like a western sizzling or a cheap restaurant that serves cheap steak. Just not used to that from Longhorn. They did make the initial order right and the very nice waiter gave us a coupon for a free appetizer. However, I will say I will give them another shot and if my steak is like it was last night I will not rerun. read more
