We came when they first opened and we encountered the same experience. We came back today to try it out and it still hasn't been improved. Normally when I've gone to this establishment I left satisfied with not only the food but the customer service. Today, 9/21 I went for lunch to take my niece, daughter and mother for the first time. When we ordered, we were specific to state how we wanted our ordered prepared. Upon receiving our orders, 3 out of 4 were completely wrong. I had requested NOT to have bread...my burger was on a bun. My niece requested a burger plain and dry with caramelized onions add bacon and cheese...no bacon or cheese (which I paid extra for). Here's the most frustrating part.... my daughter ordered a breakfast burger with NO mayonnaise...of course it had mayonnaise on the burger. She sent it back only to have the waitress return one minute later with the mayonnaise scraped off. Really?? We requested to have the burger remade. 6 minutes go by, then my niece and my order are returned correctly so we began to enjoy our meals assuming my daughters burger would follow very quickly. NOPE...20 minutes later I had to ask to speak to a manager, Jerry. Jerry made no attempt to apologize but instead stated, the burger is almost done. I stated that this was unacceptable for a business to not even apologize. He told me I could contact corporate if I wasn't happy with the service. You better believe I will as well as write this review. We've been to the location in Austin, this one didn't seem quite as good. It wasn't very busy and yet the servers seem to treat customers like they are a bother. (They have you tip before you get served so I guess there's not much of an incentive for friendliness). The burgers were tasty, thick and juicy. Ok this is a late post, but it happened last Sunday. We were starving after a long flight and decided to stop here to eat. Despite being 8:45 ( 15 min before closing) the staff took our order without rushing us. The food was cooked on point and everyone was super friendly. They even gave us some to go cups to take our drinks. Most places we went they won't take any orders 30 min prior to closing time. Wow; this was my first time here. I placed an order on line and the food looked great. When I actually arrived home and opened the box, expecting a delicious meal I was SHOCKED. I ordered a Bacon Jam. I failed to realize this did NOT include bacon, instead it was a sauce. The burger meat was dry, thin and simply lacked appeal. I also ordered fries. The amount was suitable. However; I thought I was receiving BBQ fries as the advertisement stated. I think the menu was misleading. The establishment uses word play to allude to something totally different from what you receive. I will never visit this establishment again. I will surely share my experience with everyone I know. Not bad really. The burger we had was juicy and good. French fries weren't really that great because it didn't come out hot and crispy. Don't really care for their craft cola or soda because it tasted like a diet soda. Overall not too bad, a bit pricey. Big space for seating. The booth is a bit high so not good for kids under 5 they may fall. And if you have a baby that's not a choice because high chairs don't go that high. The curly haired female bartender is in need of some serious training if she serves most of her guests the way she tended to us(guest next to us said she had to also wait to get any service). Horrible horrible horrible service. Wait staff doesn't have common sense. She saw we had our year old daughter with us and wanted to sit us at a high booth. When I told her (NICELY) we can't because we need a high chair she gave us a horrible attitude. That seems to be a fall risk to me. Ordering the food is a different story. The cashier was not nice and seems like she hates her job. Although the food is ok, we will not be back again. Side note: $40 + tip is NOT worth it. This was a spur of the moment last minute decision, which later was a result of bad decision making on my part. The food, once home, was not really good. The burger was over cooked and somewhat dry. The bacon was crispy, but not in a good kind of crispy way - it tasted burnt! The chicken strips were cooked well, but the amount of spice added was way too much! Maybe a light dusting would have been better than a heavy coating? The fries were not very good either once the temperature started to cool. Granted the food was taken to go, but travel and distance to the house was maybe ten minutes. To begin this first time dining experience at the new Hopdaddy, guests are confused by the ordering process because there is no host and a sign says order at the counter. Thus began the adventure as the bar counter is next to the sign, but nay, you order in the back of the restaurant and not the to go counter. For a restaurant that has "bar" in its name, they need to learn to serve Sawyer is in daqueri glasses rather then martini glasses and to make drinks with correct proportions if alcohol. If we wanted a very strong drink I would have ordered a shot or a drink straight up. Thankfully, they acknowledged the shortfall and took the "daqueri" off the bill. We ordered a plain chocolate shake - that is not on the menu- and it was superb. The Primetime burger and it was delicious. The quality of the meat was superb and juicy and it was loaded with flavor as the toppings complimented the savory taste. The burger was comparable to Tookies and Twin Peaks but just short. This is my first time going to Hopdoddy and at first I was skeptical, but once I fully read the menu, I was impressed. It was extensive and the only downside is the INSANE calorie count. I ordered the Truffle Fries and the Primetime. The fries where greasy yet elegant and the sauce is to die for. They were relatively expensive at 7.99 for fries but they were definitely worth it. The Primetime was THE absolute best burger I've ever had, it was extremely well seasoned, there was lots of sauce but not to much, and most importantly the pattie was cooked to absolute perfection. I highly recommend it. I usually hate any types of onions but I decided to try something new and it really was worth it. Thanks to that amazing burger, I will start taking more chances. Billy was very helpful and happy to refill and get sauce for us, he basically babied us but in a very good way. I highly recommend him he is a kind man that cares about his job, and that is rare in this industry. The restrooms are well kept up with and the fountain drink station is cleaned and restocked regularly. The bar is very clean and the bartender is very kind. All the waiters were happy to help us and made sure everything was perfect. Overall this establishment deserves five stars for a burger joint. The waiters are 4.5 stars. The bar is 4 stars just because there were some pretty rowdy guys there. Sanitation is 5 stars. I will definitely be back for more soon. read more

I love Hopdoddy's and I have been to several including the one in Austin, Rice Village, Dallas, and even Denver. The burger here has been the same quality that I have received at every other Hopdoddy's however I wished that I read the reviews before coming here because then I wouldn't have set my expectations so high. What made me give this location two stars is their service. Man oh man...was it bad. I went around 3pm so there was somewhat of a line, but not too bad. However, I stood in line and waited for a good 15+ minutes when there was only 4 people in front of me when I got to the restaurant. At other locations I have been to there are at least two cashiers so I do not know why this place only had one even after seeing the massive line they had (which kept growing by the minute bc it took so long to just place an order). After we sat down at our table I am use to other Hopdoddy's where a wait staff would come and ask us if there was anything else we needed, etc. However, no one did that. I even saw 2 other staff members sitting in a booth just talking amongst each other which just made situations more frustrating. However, the icing on the cake was when I saw tables who sat down after us get their orders before us. I had to ask two separate waitresses the status of our food before it was brought out to us. Again, I really wished that I had read the reviews before and knew about the quality of service. I do have to say, please take my review with a grain of salt because I do know that they just opened and are still trying to figure things out. I only hope that with all of these reviews concerning their service they understand and can improve at this location, because it was seriously lackluster and a huge disappointment. If you do come here, then expect to a) wait a long time for service, to order, etc. b) not have good service when you do sit down. I suggest coming back/trying this place out maybe in 6 months to a year later when they have figured out everything. Wait..... finally get his attention and he lets us know the ticket has been comped! Who knew? We sat there 15 minutes waiting on the bill! 1st time here today for lunch.. Been driving past and seeing the the name I thought it was maybe more of a "Hops" themed restaurant. Like maybe hops was used in the cooking etc. Surprisingly there's not really anything at all to do with hops in this place. It was very busy and took us about 12 mins to place our order. There's also some unique choices for fries. Now onto condiments... Ketchup, Chipotle Ketchup, Honey Mustard, and Caffinenatted BBQ. Yep you read that right. Sauces we tried was the Chipotle and caffienatted. Both excellent choices to compliment the fries.. The decor has a new age maybe hard rock similar type music theme. Has photos of musicians on the wall. Really good atmosphere overall. Friendly service and great tasting food. Wife and I got a bowl of regular fries to share and each got a burger. I got the mushroom burger which came with goat cheese and basil pesto, L.T.O and a aoli sauce. Wife grabbed the classic. The burger come out on a neat little metal tray . First impressions the burger looks kind of small , but upon eating the burger and a portion of fries equal to a medium fry....I wasn't stuffed but left full and happy. Did have a small issue with the wife's burger which we brought to their attention. Vinny the manager came out and was very professional and friendly . The very small issue was handled quickly and professionally by Vinny. Vinny even took a moment to conversate about our experience. For sure ensured a return visit . I expressed to Vinny the name had me assuming " hops" and that they'd have lots of hop based beer choices. They do have some decent choices of beers for the ones they do carry. Came to hopdoddy to try it out on 04/16/23 sat at the bar. The bartender had curly hair and glasses. She was horrible! not once were we greeted. My husband had to tell her he wanted a beer. After that she had a horrible mean look to her. As if she was upset we sat at the bar. Mind you the place was empty. I was never asked if I wanted anything to drink or if we wanted to order. After 13 minutes, we decided to close out the one beer which we had to flag down another employee to close out. Bad Stuff: - Very expensive, $30 for 2 burgers and fries is outrageous - Found a hair in the truffle fries. - Sat down and a waitress immediately tried to upsell us alcohol for happy hour. If it was happy hour then why did my shareable cost $7 instead of 5? - Ordered 2 Cokes, drink machine was under maintenance and the cashier did not explain that so we were left on our own to ask the bartender. The bar also didn't have soda, we watched the server take our glass to the maintenance guy ask him to move and then pull soda from a machine clearly being serviced. Besides being unsanitary the soda was flat. When I asked the waitress for a Sprite she admitted the machine was down (duh) and that the bar soda was gross and not to get it. So I said fine I want a water and she repeatedly talked over me for 5 more minutes. We ended up paying $5 for drinks we didn't touch. I would have appreciated her trying to fix the situation not just offering endless excuses, and talking bad about the restaurant. - Asked for ketchup, it took ANOTHER waitress 7 minutes to get it because the dispenser was also broken. - There must have been 15 servers standing around, and 3 waitresses we're at the enterence playing with a light up hula hoop and yet the service was garbage. - We we're not asked how we wanted our burgers cooked, a cardinal sin for any burger joint. The burgers have always been amazing but like other reviewers have said, their fries and the other sides have never been up to snuff. The fries were forgotten on my first visit and then on my second and third visits the fries were overcooked and cold and so was the queso. Additionally, on my last visit this weekend the guy at the bar wearing a TRAINER shirt had HORRIBLE hygiene that was noticed by everybody in our party so much so that instead of talking we all just watched each little gross move he made along the lines of wiping his face or fixing his hat and hair before restocking the milkshake straws with his bare hands, making malts and milkshakes or chocolate milk and then wiping his hands on his messy shirt, and taking cash and card payments from customers without ever washing his hands one time in the hour and a half we were there. This place has AMAZING burgers and their fountain drinks are very good as well. But is it a place I'd brag about and bring family and friends that visit from out of town? No. I'll just get the burgers to go and not subject them to the more than likely cold burnt fries and contaminated dessert options.
