My co worker and I went into the homey feeling establishment. It was a warm feeling right when I walked in. Service was great very nice, fast, and accurate. They placed free cards at my job close by and the day we didn't bring lunch was the day we came and nothing but all greatness from the service and how things came out.... Okay, I don't know where to start. Well, I'll begin by saying that this establishment has the worst customer service. I had visited a few times before and thought maybe the staff were just having a bad day, but I realized that one of them in particular--the older woman with a lot of gray hair (and, by the way, hair that is very poorly groomed for restaurant work, not to mention unhygienic since it isn't tied back properly or covered by a hairnet or cap)--is the problem. Aside from the mediocre food and extremely high prices, the service from this specific woman is the absolute worst I've ever received in my 50 years of life. I've watched her, and it's clear she acts like she runs the place. I couldn't care less how she speaks to her coworkers; I am a customer, and as such, I deserve respect. She doesn't greet you when you walk in--unless it's someone she knows; she picks and chooses whom to greet and treat well. I've given her two chances to be polite, but she just shows me her arrogance. I came in for breakfast today because I didn't have many options--I was in a rush and it was on my way--so I decided to give it another shot. It was the same story: there was just one couple ahead of me looking at the menu, and I was looking at it too. From the register, she rolled her eyes at me, looking annoyed that we were deciding what to eat. And the worst part was, when we were ready, the couple ahead of me ordered and paid, but when it was my turn, she simply walked into the back, leaving me standing there waiting for her. I clearly heard her tell the other woman in Spanish to take my order. I was left standing there thinking, "What just happened?" That's how it went. After I ordered, I calmed down and waited for my food; that very woman brought me my plate and--without doing anything other than slamming it onto the table--didn't even bother to bring me cutlery. As for the food, it was terrible--so bad I left the whole thing untouched. But what really upset me was that woman's attitude; believe me, she doesn't deserve to work here--I'd fire her right now. If you check Yelp, you'll see there are far more negative reviews than positive ones. I don't know who the owner is, but I can tell you this: I am never coming back until that woman is gone. read more

This one is ok. I like the one in Fountain Valley better. You order at the counter and then seat yourself. I usually go for their Chicken nachos. On Sundays there are many families at this location and it can get busy. But, the seating is ample and the parking lot is large. So I rarely head to HOTG unless I am in the mood for some pastrami, but after my 4-mile run this morning, I was HUNGRY. Instead of the regular pastrami, I took the lunch special, which was a chili dog, fries and a soda. I love my chili dogs, and I love HOTG's chili dogs, but... yeah, today's chili dog was a bit on the salty side (1-10, 10 being really salty, I'd give it a 7.5), but I still managed to wolf that thing down with the bun. And the fries were, of course, good. I will head back to HOTG for the chili dogs, but next time, hopefully they will be able to add some onions on there to simmer down the saltiness of the chili. read more

When someone requests items specifically be removed from the item, you'd think it would be a simple thing to do, especially since you have no idea if it's because of allergies. This place looks like it's lacking in management leadership. The overhead fluorescent lights are flickering in an unnerving way. First of all it's 2023 and you should have LEDs. Customer service is atrocious. Tried to order the advertised $6.99 burger meal. I accidentally said cheeseburger. I was not given a price over the phone. When I arrived the very curt and rude cashier (I think she might be ownership) tried to charge me $47 for three meals. I questioned the price and instead of working through the issue with me, the cashier informed me that cheeseburgers were double the price. This was an honest misunderstanding but I was treated terribly. Mean while the food went to waste. This issue could have been avoided if the cashier had been upfront with the pricing over the phone. My wife and I wanted to eat at a small place where we could relax and visit. I remembered Hot off the Grill from coming here for breakfast many years ago. First, the service. The young man at the counter was very patient as we decided what to order. He was not overly knowledgeable about the men u as he had to ask the cook if the fish sandwich came with cheese on it. The food - The onion rings were served quickly and were very tasty. A lot of them. One order was enough for my wife and me. The French Fries - this was the first clue that there was a problem. There was a lot of them on the plate. Easily enough for the two of us. But after tasting them we realized that they could feed 1,000 people because no one would eat them. They had no salt on them at all and they tasted like they had been fried in the oil of a 56 Chevy with a blown head gasket. Sandwiches - My wife had the fish sandwich and rated it as OK. One of my gfs and I decided to have a late lunch here on Saturday. We were at Albertsons last weekend and smelled the great aroma from this establishment. Lots of choices to choose from. They over breakfast, lunch, dinner , and desserts. Lots of comfort food. We decided to both order their colossal burger which is a beef patty with pastrami, lettuce, tomato, pickles, etc. We had ordered the combos . So we had French fries and zucchini sticks with drinks included. The colossal burger was awesome and crispy fries and zucchini sticks came with ranch dressing.
