WOW! Husband and I will definitely be coming back!! We loved the sausage gravy specials on the weekend. The most flavorful sausage gravy ever!! Service is top notch!! I love the ladies working here, they were so so sweet! The place is cute and rustic decorated, which made for a welcoming vibe. LOVE THIS PLACE!

I finally made it to Huntley's Place that I've been eyeing for weeks. The bright yellow sign & tables have been catching my eye! We visited on a Sunday afternoon around 11am. Though it was busy, we were seated quickly and a waitress met us fast! Everything we ordered was delicious and served fast! Can't wait to go back & try more of the menu!

Great place for breakfast, brunch and lunch. It gets pretty busy for breakfast and brunch, especially on the weekends. They have a full bar too! Try any of the pancakes they are super delicious. We did like the Lemon-Blueberry pancake. The Mexican Omelette is also very good, especially if you like jalapenos. The hash brown is good and the English muffin as sides work great. Big shout out to our server Nessa. She was super friendly and attentive. We were sitting outside and she did not forget about us. Thank you!

I went to Huntley's Place for breakfast last weekend. It was a cute little brunch spot. The service at the bar was good. I ended up getting a Paloma to drink and a country style breakfast for my food. Overall, the food and beverage were good. I will say over $30 for breakfast did feel a bit pricy for what I got as it was a pretty standard breakfast. Overall, it was a nice cozy breakfast spot, but a bit on the pricier side.

Chocolates Chip Pancakes! These were good, but overpriced compared to several other locally owned establishments.

The prices have increased but the portions have not. My omelet ($16) was more like a couple of folded over eggs or a crepe. Hash browns were scant but the bacon was FINALLY crispy!! My husband had the chocolate chip pancakes with a side of bacon. The pancakes were delicious, but again, the value is no longer there. The prices have jumped about 20% since last summer. There were multiple leaks from the ceiling!! One was right in the walking path, an accident waiting to happen; the other one was right onto the only large group table inthe restaurant. Service was decent. Our guy was chill and friendly but the staff were very chatty with one another so it took a while to signal for more coffee. We won't be back.

We came back for breakfast and drinks after enjoying our previous visit, and once again, it was a great choice. We ordered the Breakfast Tacos, and the Spam and Eggs, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. Their breakfast menu offers an impressive variety, and the drinks are just as flavorful. We loved their Bloody Mary. Rachelle provided excellent service, attentive and thoughtful-making sure we had everything we needed and adding to the overall experience.

This was very packed when we arrived. They cleaned up the other tables and places the other parties before us at a very timely manner. The waitress was very and nice and checked up on us often. The breakfast tacos was good but the patty melt and cheese and grits stole the show. Next time I would need to go for the special pancakes.

The food was really great. Was a very down to earth feel. The service was quick. The noise levels were not too loud. I enjoyed the patty melt and I added bacon. The bacon was crisp and thick the bread was great along with the cheese l. The fries reminded me of double fried fries. The mason cup to drink out off gave me feel of being a little kid again which brought back sweet memories. I highly recommend this place.

Thank you for bringing me back to my childhood! Cause this is THE local diner for brunch. Only a short drive from the beach. Small and sweet plus tasty treats! Friendly vibe and fresh food to order. I got the classic cheesy eggs scrambled with American, hash browns and white toast served with a lovely Mimosa. Plus of course I had to get their staple coconut chocolate pancake. My mouth is still watering as I write this. Highly recommend!

Sophia and I made the long trek from Newport News to Virginia Beach to check out this little spot. I first came across them from watching a piece on Channel 13 where they were part of the Friday Flavor segment. They opened up shop in 2020 and have been a local favorite ever since. Let's find out if the drive was worth it. We met up with some friends for breakfast once a table became ready. Inside, it is gorgeous wuth nice decor and a few tables. Truly a hidden gem tucked away within a strip mall. First off, I gotta say the mason jar of water and the coffee cup were neat. You do not need a refill at all. I read that if you want to order one to take home, it cost $6. Maybe I should've done that, but I have enough glasses in the cabinet. Oh yeah....the food. I ordered one of their Summer pancake flavors: peanut butter and jelly. Also, I included a side of sausage patties and hash browns. I'm gonna use my favorite words in the Yelp dictionary: pretty damn good. The pancakes......oh my God were they delicious. You do not need any syrup nor butter to add to this bad boy. Each flapjack was cooked perfectly and full of PB&J spread. Homemade batter like this tasted even better. The sides I ordered....I didn't even touch them. They were boxed up and will be a nice little lunch. And everybody at our table enjoyed their meal. Huge thumbs up. Well, there you have it ladies and gents, a local spot that checked every box. This exceeded my expectations. Great homemade food with great service. Could not have asked for anything more. There will be a return here for sure :)

Yum! What a great place to have breakfast at! Found this place using Yelp and the ratings did not disappoint! Service was kind and friendly! Our server made us feel right at home even being first timers. All the staff was nice that we had interactions with as well. Food was great. We enjoyed the following: Special summer wrap filled with meats, eggs, cheese and covered with sausage gravy. Served with crispy hash browns! Make your own wrap- Grilled onions, peppers and tomatoes with eggs and cheese! This was also served with crispy hash browns and tasted great. Pancakes! They have lots of specialty pancakes so we had to try some of these as well! Went with the recess's and they were delicious! Lots of yummy flavor. Coffee was kept filled and they serve the water in big ole mason jars. There is only about 8 tables so you might have to wait for a table There is also a bar area with about 9 seats. Will return!

A good neighborhood restaurant for breakfast or lunch. Plenty of parking since it's in a shopping plaza. We were seated right away and my mom was on a walker and they were very accommodating. They do have cocktails but we stuck with water which they bring over in a huge mason jar. I love that.....no empty glasses and less refills for them. Our waitress was very nice. Debbie? I got the chicken caeser wrap with pasta for my side. My mom got the burger and fries and my sister got eggs, bacon and hash browns. Everything came out very quickly and my moms burger was huge! It was definitely a frozen patty and you could not order it your way temperature wise. My wrap was very good and I liked that the tortilla was toasted. I did not like the pasta salad at all. I think it was pasta and dressing. My sisters breakfast was good....no complaints. Since my family seems to think I am a human garbage disposal I got to try the fries and hash browns. Both were good, crispy and perfectly cooked. They seem to be known for their pancakes. They also have a full bar. I like that you can get breakfast or lunch anytime. It was a quick meal and we were on our way. I would go back for a quick breakfast or lunch.

Definitely a 5 star rating for their Mushroom Spinach Benedict. Everything was perfect- tasty and fresh - the egg, the tender mushrooms, the gravy. I chose to get fruit with my Benny. The other choice was hash browns and.....(can't remember because am stuck on the Benny taste). Huntley's place is cozy, has an understated elegance. Plenty of brunch selections. Service is great, staff super friendly and polite!

Our first table ended up being under a spotlight that was directly in our line of sight (it looked like it was meant for the specials board), so we asked to move. Staff was accommodating and got us to a better table quickly. The space itself is really nice. It was clean, rustically decorated, and the live plants in liquor bottles on the tables are a nice touch. Our server was friendly from the start and took drink orders right away. My daughter and I had sodas, and my husband ordered the Southern Charm Old Fashioned off the specials menu, which he enjoyed. The menu is on the smaller side, which we actually like. One unique detail was the option to "buy a round for the kitchen," which we thought was a really nice touch and decided to add it when we ordered our appetizer. We started with the fried deviled eggs after a friend recommended them. They were creative with three styles (classic with pickle, togarashi ginger, and crispy prosciutto), but overall a bit on the dry side and not as flavorful as we expected. We asked for Dijon, but they don't have it. Our server suggested and brought out the Baja dipping sauce instead, which did pair well and kind of improved them. My husband had the fish and chips and really enjoyed it. He said the fish was flaky and well cooked. I ordered the Union grilled cheese, which unfortunately seemed like it had been sitting a bit before being served, as the bottom was soggy. It was just okay overall and not particularly memorable for the price. The sweet potato fries on the side were the clear standout. They were crispy, the perfect balance of sweet and salty and honestly the best part of the dish. Our daughter had the kid's smashburger. It was exactly that. Service throughout the meal was good. She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and there when needed. The main disappointment came at the end. When our meals were served, the server actually offered sauces at the table (ketchup, mayo, ranch, etc.), and specifically suggested items like the baja sauce for the eggs and ranch to us. Because of that, we were surprised to see several charges for the sauces on the bill, especially since they were offered and recommended at the table with no mention of any additional cost. We were also charged a credit card fee, with no signage anywhere (entrance, hostess stand, or menu) indicating that paying with a card would include an extra charge. It just left an unnecessary sour note on an otherwise solid, casual meal. Nothing was bad, and nothing really stood out as exceptional, but the lack of transparency around those final charges really impacted the overall experience for us.

It was a beautiful evening. Our server was Lauryn, and she was great. She was nice and attentive but not worrisome. We had the Wisconsin Cheese Curds along with the house made Sangria. As an entree, I had the whiskey burger with truffle fries. I really liked the cheese curds; they're a lot flavorful than traditional mozzarella sticks. The house made sangria was really good too! We had to stop ourselves from just sucking it down. The burger is where I had the issue. It was a little on the dry side.... Too well done despite asking for medium. It also wasn't seasoned well. The only flavor rally came from the bbq sauce and onion straws. The truffle fries were good though. The menu said they won't best burger of Virginia Beach, and that was made me get a burger. Not the best burger I've ever had. Next time, I will try the pizza and probably go to the Shore drive location since that is closer to my house. Again, the vibe, service, and scenery was worth the drive.. the food not so much.

If you go in knowing that, then you'll be fine. We were actually hungry and expected at least mediocre food and didn't get it. I'll stay staff was great and friendly and even took one of our meals off the bill without us asking. That was appreciated. We ordered cocktails, appetizers of lollipop chicken and a crab cake and filets and fish and chips. The filets looked gray. I can't even describe it. They almost looked similar to a pork chop and completely turned my stomach. My daughter barely touched hers either. Fries and mashed potatoes were fine but my husband barely touched the fried fish. Carrots plain. Even cocktails were nothing to write home about. Their "famous" steak sauce? Again missed the mark. Tasted like a bad version of barbecue sauce that was far too sweet for a steak. We finished with the dessert of pineapple upside down cake which again tasted so odd. A random cake with pineapple thrown on top. Really? We ended up leaving wondering how it could be so bad when we had done our homework. We know restaurants that are just for aesthetics but certainly expected more from a place called The Hunt Room. I ended up on the combo of their soup and salad since their soup also sounded good. I was hesitant on the strawberries in the wine country salad since I know they're not in season really, but they were lovely. Everything in the salad worked well together and the dressing was nice and vinegary while still tasting of raspberries. It was very well balanced except for the ratio of toppings to greens. I feel as though there was just a little too much toppings. It could've used more leafs. As for the soup, it was a little bland, but after adding salt and pepper it tasted nice. It was mostly soup rather than crab or corn though. That was my only critique really, the temperature was good as well. It could've used some crackers on the side, but it wasn't necessary, just would've been a nice touch. Our waitress was quite nice, checked up on us and got us refills. All of our food came out together and hot. The sandwiches on other people's plates all looked wonderful, and after having a shoestring fry, I can definitely say next time I will be ordering some of those. As far as ambiance goes, it was nicely lit but still moody, which was appreciated. Very chill in there. Only reason I rate it 3 stars is because I feel as though there's room for improvement food wise, and price wise. $20+ for almost everything on the menu is pretty ridiculous. Even for some of the simple items. I don't think the food is that good, proportionately appropriate, or creative to be that much money. Maybe it's just me, but that's how I feel. I'll probably be back to try more items, I'd recommend coming here at least once to try if you haven't, during happy hour to get the best prices if you can.
