Everything needs improvement. The sauce is bitter, and Stouffer's has a better lasagna.

They have great pizza but don't order a pasta dish. They hardly put any sauce on the pasta. I had to add sauce just to eat the spaghetti!

I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and a cup of alfredo sauce. The spaghetti was a thick pasta that looked more like fettuccine, but it's homemade and very, very good! The meatballs were good, and the red sauce was good. I would definitely order it again. However, I was ripped off when ordering extra sauce. I wanted to add just a little alfredo to the red sauce on the pasta. I could have ordered a pint of alfredo sauce, but I am one person - I didn't need that much, and I figured the texture would be compromised if I froze it. So, I ordered a "cup." I received a RAMEKIN (pictured next to an actual measuring cup in my kitchen). The pint is $11.00. The "cup" was $2.50. I hope you can understand that I was miffed when I got home and saw a rinky-dink ramekin of sauce that I paid $2.50 for. I mean, seriously...that amount is worth $1.00 at most. However, I do want to say that the sauce is so good that in the future, I'll actually buy the pint! It's that good. I'll go ahead and spend the money, but I'll plan around it so that I can use it on other things that I cook during the week. And if I have to freeze it, I guess I'll cope with the texture issue. The flavor is AWESOME! I also ordered one homemade link sausage, and not only did it look like something unmentionable, but it also didn't taste good at all. It didn't taste like pork, or beef, or....anything. It could have been made from black beans - it kinda tasted like a black bean burger. The size was pretty small, but it was $2.50, which I didn't feel was overpriced. I simply won't order it again. But people....DO order the spaghetti and meatballs! And get that pint of alfredo sauce! Iacono's Italian Restaurant - Clearly, not a cup! - Pizza Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

We tried Iacono's for the first time tonight, and it was a mixed experience. Iacono's biggest problem is their website-- it is very outdated. Their website claims they have a dining room that's still open. That's why my wife and I brought our kids in tonight to dine in... but as it turns out, their dining room appears largely dismantled and looks like storage now. I'm guessing they closed it during the pandemic and never reopened it. Come on guys, you gotta update people about something that significant! We quickly changed plans to order the food to go. Fortunately, the pickup service was on top of their game and the food was ready surprisingly quickly. On the other hand, their food offerings are quite good. Good thin crust pizza, great pub fares as sides, good subs, a generous portion of wings for the price. Overall, I was very happy to have tried this place tonight because their menu offerings are fairly similar to the now-closed DeArini's which was one of our local family favorites. I didn't get to try any of their pasta dishes on this visit, though, if their pasta sauce is similar to their garlic bread dipping sauce, it might be far too sweet for my liking. We'll definitely be grabbing food from Iacono's again in the future. But now that I know they no longer do dine-in, I'll be ordering ahead for pickup! 3 stars overall for today's experience, but I'd give them 4-5 stars if I reviewed them as a strictly take-out joint. read more

This is one of my top 3 pizzas in the area. Love the cracker type crispy, airy crust. The sauce is not too sweet, not too savory. The cheeses and toppings are always fresh and delicious. They have a pretty good salad bar (my wife loves the macaroni salad) and a decent selection of craft and national beers. The staff is always friendly and the service is great. read more

I haven't been here in a million years, so we gave it a try and were pleasantly surprised with everything we tried! Old world pep pizza is a super solid choice - great thin crust, great flavor sauce, and those perfect little pepperonis... great choice for a local pizza: I would absolutely get it again! The salad was tasty and fresh. Not a huge fan of raw broccoli but that's just me. Breaded mushrooms *drool* They were super crispy which was awesome. Came with a horseradish sauce which was a surprise that I really liked. Expected ranch but now I think I will always want horseradish sauce! Does anybody remember when there used tobe an Iaconos in Sunbury? We used to go there for Friday night family pizza. I'm sure nobody really wants details, suffice to say I have good memories and was really excited to find it again as an adult. The pizza here has a really thin flaky crust and plenty of lava like gooey cheese. They put a decent amount of toppings on. The pasta is homemade. I like the chicken parm, too! Plenty of cheese and sauce, and a Huge piece of chicken on thick cut noodles. They do a decent salad, green lettuce, and pieces of decent carrots, cucumbers, broccoli, and cabbage with house made dressings. read more

I ordered take out and the food was good. The problem i have is I paid with my card and the order was 23.50. I round ed it with tip to 24 even i as picking up the food. They charged my card 28.20. This is not good . read more

Friendly staff and quick service. The pizza is not my style - the crust is very thin and pre-made, not hand rolled. The taste is more like a frozen pizza. The dining room has morphed into an extra storage space. read more

I highly enjoyed this place. I never been here before and my wife and I decided to come and check it out. Just to give you a heads up, their dining room is closed. Luckily they had a single table with 2 chairs in the waiting room and they allowed us to eat there. We drove over 30 minutes so thankfully they were cool with that. We got their Italian sub and a large pepperoni and cheese old topper and it was delicious. I would love to come back soon, but I'll check the other location for their dining room. read more

Tried a pepperoni pizza from this place during a luncheon at work. It was free, so I cannot complain too much. The pizza was meh at best, but I will say it's still way better than DiCarlo's Pizza (shots fired). I felt like this pizza was lacking in the sauce department, whether that be too little sauce or lacking in flavor. The cheese was decent and the crust was tolerable, for these reasons I will grant them a 2. Will I ever try them again? Probably not... Pepperoni Pizza (1-5=2). read more

Ordered two pies a sub and garlic bread. They put cheese over the toppings so everything about their pizza can be summed up in a word...soggy. The pizza was awful...crust was soggy everything slid right off trying to pick up a piece. We made the sun so it was fine. The garlic bread with cheese is a bun covered in cheese with barely a noticeable garlic flavor. The pizza at the bar across the street is hands down better. I'm amazed this place can stay in business serving this soggy excuse for a pizza. Do yourself a favor and order from anywhere else...this is coming from a man who rarely meets a bad pizza. read more

The salad was dry like they purposely set it in a dry room just to let everything dry out. The pizza was was thin and and 3xs the amount of cheese than pizza. the pizza was room temperature when we got it. And when they had the dining room open they had old and cold pizza just sitting out and the table was dusty. read more

Our new favorite Italian restaurant in the Columbus area. Service was very helpful and friendly and the establishment is clean, spacious, and inviting. I had one of the best Italian subs that I have consumed in my life. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her chicken parmesan and salad bar. The garlic cheese bread was also a great choice for an appetizer. I had never been to Iacono's, and since I love pizza, I decided that I had to try it. It was one of the few pizzerias in the area that I had not yet tried, so I decided to order my standard pepperoni and onion pie. The reviews indicated that they make only thin-crust pizza, so that was a plus in my book! Along with the pizza, I ordered onion rings as well since I'm constantly on the lookout for good onion rings. I placed my order online and received the notice that the food would be ready in about half an hour. When I arrived, I noticed that there were probably six or seven people working in the kitchen, and they were running their butts off! I don't know if they always work so quickly or if they had a pile of orders to fill, but they were hustling. Their dining room was not open, and there was a "Help Wanted" sign in the window. So maybe they don't have enough staff to have the dining room open for dinner? I wanted carryout anyway, so not a big deal. There was one customer ahead of me when I arrived, and she obviously was displeased about the fact that Iacono's only makes thin-crust pizza. Oh well, she should have looked at the reviews first. I was excited to dig into the pizza and onion rings when I got home, so I got the tv prepared and settled down with food and a drink to begin my evening. I have to say that the onion rings disappointed me. They were incredibly flimsy, even soggy, and I was not able to finish them. Unfortunately, I threw three or four to the garbage. The pizza was far better. I'm not a fan of the stiff cracker crust -- I really prefer the New York style of soft thin crust -- but the taste was good. There was an even distribution of pepperonis and onion, and the sauce was neither sweet nor too plentiful and overpowering, which is the case with many other pizzerias around here. One other thing I didn't like was the cut -- it comes cut into little squares instead of as normal pizza slices. Having developed my taste for pizza in the New York and New Haven area, I have never understood this Midwestern obsession with cutting pizza into little bite-sized squares; to me, it's pizza heresy. It seems like something they would do for free sample day at Kroger. Maybe I could have requested a normal pizza cut when I made my order, but I don't remember. I should have looked more closely. Will I go back? Yeah, why not? They have plenty of other items on their menu that look good, so I'll try something else next time. And when I have guests over for pizza night, Iacono's is so close that I can step out to pick up pizzas and be back home in about 10 minutes. They changed the menu to remove the salad bar from entrees and now charge a whopping $4.50 to add it on. Oh, and the prices stayed the same for the entrees at the same time. So they literally just sneakily changed the menu to say it's not included now. I saw a lot of people coming in and going straight to the salad bar before looking at the menu and ordering, because there is literally no sign announcing this change or anything. Keeping the same price for an item and now charging $4.50 for the salad bar when it used to be included with no notice? I wonder how many people are getting scammed by that. The pasta sauce tasted watered down (not sure if they are skimping on that too now) and to be honest the pizza wasn't that good when I had it. At least it was a good deal with the salad bar, but if you think I'm paying the same price for an entree and now paying another $4.50 for the salad bar that was included before you're insane. The spaghetti and meatballs essentially just had a 40% increase in price to get what you got before. Shame they had to do that right when we discovered and started coming here. Just ordered from doordash, got two pounds of wings as we LOVE the wings from the Dublin location. But here they were the worst wings I've ever paid for... they looked like they were cooked twice, and the meat was so shriveled some had no meat at all! Check out the picture... all bone! Now we are just hoping we don't get food poisoning from them. We did get a pizza and it was good, but no clue how they can sell these wings!!! Gross! read more

Heading over to Iacono's I didn't expect a whole lot. I pictured a Villa Nova type atmosphere and decent food that would fill me up. This place isn't too far from where I grew up, so I'm sure I've been here in the past, but I didn't remember the place at all. Honestly, everything we had was great. And from the service to the food, I really couldn't find any reasoning to deduct a star. The inside of the restaurant offers around 20 tables, and the other half is a takeout counter where you can actually buy six packs of beer to go as well. I don't remember the last time I had a salad bar, but I love them, so I had to add it on to my meatball sub. The lettuce was unexpectedly fresh and super green. Usually, at small pizza places I expect some kind of iceberg mix, but this place had really nice green leaf lettuce and a bunch of fresh veggies along with homemade dressings. They also had a chicken noodle soup there that one of the workers told me was made in house, and it was really tasty with lots of chunks of chicken in it. Next up, my girlfriend and I split a meatball and an Italian sub. Both were great, but the meatballs really blew me away. Not only did they load up the sub with them, but they were some of the best meatballs I'd had in awhile (so much so that I had to get more Italian within the week, and I usually have it like twice a year). The Italian was pretty good. They use Auddino's bread, so I've come to find that most places Italian subs are starting to taste the same, since everyone in town with a half way decent sub uses Auddino's rolls. They did have their homemade Italian on there which might be a tad too oily for me, but overall, you're not going to leave disappointed. Lastly, the prices are one of the best selling points here. These sandwiches were large and can easily make a second meal if you grab the salad bar, and they were under $7. The salad bar was like $4 with an entree, and with the soup, it was a great deal. When you consistently put out great food, your restaurant will stand the test of time like Iacono's, and I'll definitely keep supporting them. read more

I really like this Iaconos location and crave their pizza on a regular basis. Like I've written before, pizza is personal and this is one of my favorites in Columbus. It isn't the closest pizza shop or the most convenient, but I truly enjoy the thickness of the crust, the flavor of the sauce and the pepperoni. Just my preference. The restaurant itself is family-friendly. It's nothing fancy, but serves up incredible homemade pasta. I know a few people who will drive across town to order their spaghetti and meatballs or some pasta dish. The simple dining room consists of a few wall booth and your typical wood tables with red & white checkered table cloths. There's also a few TV's mounted on the walls. Iacono's has daily dinner specials and a pizza and salad buffet. The menu has both wine and beer- and if you're picking up a pizza the refrigerator in the entryway has decent selection of six-packs to carry out. They also deliver in a few mile radius of Kenny Road. Overall, I like Iaconos for it's affordable, rib-sticking, homemade food. It's a homey place where you can take the whole noisy family. read more

The inside while dated was very clear, and the service was extremely friendly. I really enjoyed the salad bar, and the fresh pizza choices they continued to put out. Ick. I had heard such amazing things about Iacono's. So one day while I was out and about, I decided to visit the Sawmill Road location. Closed. I huge pain, since I had gone out of my way to go there. Nevertheless, I was going to try Iacono's yet. I tracked down another location -- this one on Kenny Road; it was open. I had to walk through an odd front carry-out area to get to the dining room. The dining room was large and weirdly set up. There was a sketchy looking buffet in the corner (a small salad bar, soup and three types of pizza). There was no one to seat me (though the sign said to wait). Once a server showed up, she told me I could have just sat down. Hmm. I had the bacon and pepperoni pie. It was OK. Thin, crackery crust covered in toppings usually wins me over, but not so here. The pizza didn't have much flavor to speak of. Perhaps if the experience leading up to lunch had been better, I might have enjoyed Iacono's more. But I doubt it. read more

I ordered takeout from this place which probably wasn't the best idea. It took me like 40 minutes to get home and the pizza was still hot because I have a pizza bag, but the pizza was soggy since it was extra greasy. If I go again I will definitely dine in so that the pizza stays crispy. I ordered the Old World pepperoni and feel it was way over priced. My favorite pizza in Columbus for over 40 years. They also serve my favorite Italian sub. They make their wide spaghetti noodles homemade but I wasn't a fan of the sauce. Their meatball was delicious though. I've heard from others that they loved the spaghetti sauceso its clearly just a matter of taste and you'll have to judge for yourself. Right now during the pandemic the dining room isn't open and they are doing curbside pickup or delivery only. Many reviews on Iacono's... went for pizza/salad bar buffet (M-F lunch)...$10.75..walked in and you enter at the take out/to go portion of restaurant... sat down at 1130... 3 fresh pizza's up.. cheese, pep/sausage and Hawaiian ... salad bar had fresh greens, Mac salad, peas, cukes, eggs, ban peppers, and other assortment of items to add to your salad(3 dressings)... really surprised how fresh everything looked... as I finished my first plate of greens & pizza another fresh pizza brought out and my server(Sean) filled up my drink... Look. 3-stars is a pretty good rating. A-OK, indeed. This location is great for me. Every time I come here, I wonder why I don't come more often. On this particular and most recent visit, I was out and about after a loooong day of errands. I was feeling a little under the weather and wanted some comfort food, but nothing too heavy. I decided a to-go order of Iacono's giant homemade meatballs in their delicious sauce would do the trick. Mmmm! I knew I had some sourdough bread at home and thought just eating the meatballs would be good, and I could sop up the sauce with my leftover bread. Well... I also thought some soup sounded good, since I was feeling a little sicky. I asked if they had any soup, and they said they had some minestrone. Great! Not so great. I'm 99% sure this minestrone came from a can. I think this was just some reheated Campbell's. I asked for the meatballs and two portions of soup to go, and I waited quite awhile for my order to be ready. At one point one of the guys came out from around the corner and said he had to "heat up more soup." Yeah, and open the can! This was upsetting, obviously, since the reason I love Iacono's is for that homemade Italian feeling. While waiting on my order, I began to crave some pizza or a sub as I watched these delights come out of the oven. I will be back again soon to satisfy this craving. Great pizza, but a couple caveats: 1) my entire family and our 4 guests were all vomiting the day after having Ioconos recently. 2) twice in past 6 months, I ordered for pick-up and was quoted 20 minutes, but it took 35+ minutes to get them (I like to set a timer after placing an order). I always arrive 5 minutes early (no one likes cold pizza). Tonight, it took 39 MINUTES to get my pizzas... I'm nearly 100% certain that based on cook times, they couldn't have possibly started preparing my pizzas until I arrived. TIME IS PRECIOUS... If Ioconos doesn't start respecting my time, I'll take my business elsewhere. Good pizza places are a dime a dozen (Donatos is literally right across the street). I'm considering this a lenient strike 2, but I won't be back for a while. read more

Pizza quest 2013 stopped into Iacono's last night. Iacono's serves up a traditional, edge to edge Ohio pizza on thin, crackery crust. Indeed, the crust is more crakery than most places (if you like the cracker-style, give it a try). We fired up our traditional pep and shroom. The pepperoni was laid low under the shrooms and cheese, so there was no cupping or crisping of the peps. Sauce and cheese ratios were all good. The sauce is a bit on the tart side, which was a nice counterbalance to the normally salty pizza toppings. What Iacono's did really well were the shrooms. Unlike most places, Iacono's shaved the mushrooms very thin and then piled them on. Exposing more area of each mushroom to the heat in this manner really brings out the cooked mushroom taste (which I love). Per our new tradition, we also ordered up some meatballs. The meatballs are a decent size for a buck each. They come in a ton of sauce, which is slightly sweet and tart (very savory and good). The extra sauce ended up in a dipping bowl for my pizza. The meatballs themselves are nicely herbed and not too dense (i.e., easy cutting with a fork). It's difficult to make large meatballs that aren't hard to fork through, so kudos to Iacono's on that front. I'm not a big edge to edge, cracker crust guy, but the pizza was A-OK. I'd definitely return for the meatballs, which stole the show. read more

I had dinner there tonight. I hadn't been to this location but to the one on Sawmill. For $11 including tax, I got an order of lasagna, free rein at the salad bar and the soup station. That made it a pretty good deal. The food wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. But it won't make my list of great Italian restaurants. read more

Iacono's, I am disappointed. I'd been to the former Dublin Iacono's many times (and had my wedding rehearsal dinner there), and was excited to pick up an Iacono's pizza - this is close to home. I ordered a large pepperoni and onion for carryout. It was ready when I got there, which is a plus. The pizza, however, was a minus. It was unevenly sauced and cheesed, with spots that were thick with sauce and others that had no sauce at all. That lack of uniformity, coupled with soft spots in the crust where the sauce interfered with cooking, really blew it overall. Sad face. The other reviewers seem to have dined in the restaurant, and it does have that old-school pizza parlor feel. Maybe that was the issue and better quality food is to be had on dine-in. read more
