I think me and my bestie got here pretty close to closing time but we just came here randomly and the food selection honestly wasn't that bad.. however, there was a lot of good looking shrimp dishes that I couldn't eat Cus im allergic and it sucks cus all the good dishes were shrimp -_- I was literally half asleep when I came here but I remember we got seated pretty fast. There was a decent amount of customers there and it wasn't too bad for my first buffet experience in Gardena. I never tried when this place used to be Hometown Buffet lol Anyway, probly won't come here again but it was an experience :D

Variety on my 1st plate. Had 2 more after this!

SO many good choices! Staff working hard to replenish drinks & pick up used plates. Attentive to say the least. Spacious. They have a banquet room. Crab legs were on the small side. 30+ minute wait on a Sunday afternoon. Lots of parking. The carpet in that place is questionable considering all the food that's involved & the foot traffic; (saw drippings from used plates, piled with food scraps falling on the carpet). But will go again though not in a rush to...

I never like to leave bad reviews bc I feel like it doesn't do anything, but holy shit this place was so bad. We called ahead of time asking the price and they told us $17, when we got there and paid they charged us $23 each. When we said we had called they apologized and said that was their lunch pricing. Okay, fair, small mistake but sucked they didn't tell us their price would change after the hour. Food was okay; service was okay. But at the end when I wanted to use the bathroom, the woman's bathroom was flooded, I slipped & stepped in some nasty brown stuff hoping it wasn't anything more than just random sticky sludge. Worst $50 I've ever spent.

Ichiban Buffet - Visited Friday lunch, 11/28/25 Service was excellent--fast, friendly, plates cleared quickly, drinks always full. Food was solid: hot items fresh, good variety (sushi, teppanyaki, shrimp, salad bar, desserts all hit the spot). Only downside: no rock crab at lunch (server confirmed it's dinner-only). Great value for lunch (~$18). Clean, spacious, easy parking. Will return for dinner to get those crabs! Recommended.

One of my friends is a huge buffet lover, and she recommended Ichiban Buffet Gardena for my birthday dinner -- so we decided to try it, and it was so good! They had so many different food selections, and the Teppanyaki section was so good. My two friends also treated me to dinner for my birthday, and I'm so thankful to them. The crab legs were good, and all the food was delicious. While we were eating, I think we heard the birthday song about seven times! My friends requested it for me too, so they played the birthday song for my celebration as well. I had such a fun and happy birthday dinner here.

Ask the Community - Ichiban Buffet

Do they have crabs the whole day on Saturday and Sunday?

They should, however, you better be on the lookout for them because as soon as they are presented at the buffet, they are gone FAST! And will have to wait for the next batch.

    Do they sell alcohol?

    No, they dont have that

Do they still do tibeye all day on weekends?

Hey! Are they generous with costs here? Like, lets say for example I came for a table of 2 at around 3:00pm, but I need to wait around 1 hour or more, and we would get our seat at 4:30pm. Can we still pay for the Lunch hour and not the Dinner hour?

Dinner starts at 3:30, so I would imagine if you get your table at 4:30, then you would be considered for dinner prices. Better to ask the establishment themselves.

Hello, can I make a reservation for August 2nd? It is not a large party but it is for my mom's 85th birthday and I don't think she can wait a long time to be seated.

It's probably best to call the restaurant, however, they may only take reservations for large parties.

Is crab only served on weekends?how much for dinner time?

All week dinner time I believe. Crab is very small and very thin and it's on ice. Very hard to get the meat out.

Hi do you do reservations for big parties?

Yes only on weekdays thank you

    Do they accept Apple Pay?

    Yes, they accept Apple Pay.

Is there any crab on sunday lunch?

Yes we have Steamed live crabs and snow crab legs on Saturday and Sunday all day

Is there crabs during lunch time?

    No only for dinner time

What's the current pricing? Are there different lunch and dinner menus that exclude certain items?

What time does dinner service start?

They start serving dinner menu at 3:30pm. Enjoy!

    When are crab legs served?

They have them all the time I suppose. we have been there in the middle of the week and they have them.

    How much for kids?

    Last I went a few months ago: 3-6yrs old: $8.99 7-10yrs old: $14.99.

    Any to go option?

Yes, you get a box from the staff and you fill it with what you want and then at the cashier station it will be weighed and you are charged by the weight. Sorry, I don't know the current pricing.

How much is dinner and lunch?

As of Feburary 9th 2025 Lunch is 15.99 for adults Dinner is 21.99 for adults

Any of the food contains peanuts and treenuts?

Hi Cheryl, yes some of their menu items contains peanuts, tree nuts and sesame seeds.

Do they serve beer or wine?

No they do not, only fountain drinks and hot coffee. Ofc water too.

I yelped around some places and found a Chinese buffet. Buffets are good cause everybody gets to choose what they want and there's enough choices to keep everybody happy. Heck, these Chinese buffets even have American food like ribs, pizza and French fries. This place, China Buffet, not the most imaginative name, is pretty decent sized and seems to have a lot more choices than the small town buffets I've seen. More of the more authentic Chineasy stuff that I have no idea what it is, but there's plenty of choices of familiar stuff to keep us all fed, like hot and sour soup, all kinds of noodles and egg rolls and ribs and veggies. Service was the normal Asian buffet service, not friendly, just efficient at filling drinks and clearing the plates. The prices here in SoCal seem a little higher than Nor Cal, but I think you do get a better buffet here.

I was hungry and hoped to find something good at the Mitsuwa Food Court, but got annoyed at the exorbitant prices, so I decided to check out local buffets for affordable Asian food and stumbled upon China Buffet on Yelp. The decor and ambiance was comfortably warm, pleasant and welcoming with the carpeted dining area and nice wall art. Service was just as warm and friendly. I loved a wide selection of food to sample. The seafood dishes weren't as tasty as the dishes at my favorite seafood buffet in Murrieta, CA, but it was satisfactory. The had freshly grilled chicken, meat, fish, and calamari in the back. Dinner price for AYCE was a mere $24.99 on a Friday and $2.35 for a soda w/ free refills. Can't go wrong with so many options to sample and choose from. Highly recommend!

The price is right at $20 for dinner and $10 for young elementary school aged children. This location was recently named one of three LA area buffets in the top 150 in the country, based on Google reviews. I've been to a lot of buffets (Chinese and otherwise), and this was near the top, especially based on the price. We came about 30 minutes after its 11 am opening, and the place was already packed with a line waiting to get in. You pay first, getting water and soda cups at checkout (plates are plentiful near the buffet itself). Emmelyn was the check-in associate, and she was joyful and friendly, putting a smile on my wife's face after a stressful drive through LA traffic. We found out that my wife's lunch was free because it was her birthday. Lunch pricing is $15.19 (M-F), minus $1 for seniors and military. Refillable soda is $2.99. It's find your own seating, and we grabbed the first seats we could find. -- being super crowded meant the food was constantly being replenished and kept fresh. It also meant a lot of line (inadvertent) line cutting and careful, slow movements...need to be careful for sure. -- the taste of the food was good, mainly because most things were turning over quickly. However, the selection of dishes wasn't huge, and the soups didn't look too good. -- I focused on the sushi and was satisfied. They had different type simple rolls and nigiri, with soy sauce at each table. They also had a bottle of eel sauce to douse your rolls with more, if you want. Towards the end, discovered a New Zealand green mussel dish in a hot chili sauce, which I took full advantage of. -- the must get is the Mongolian Grill, which dominates the center of the restaurant. There were three types of sliced frozen meat (beef, chicken, pork), a variety of vegetables (including my favorite, baby corn), and various runny sauces that you pour on top when done. Once your bowl is complete, you need to give it to the operator. But here its a bit different: it operates on a unique system that I've only seen here. In the front counter, there are 20 spots where numbered pager sits. Once a person fills up a bowl with raw ingredients, they place it on the next available pager spot, taking the pager with them. Once the food is cooked, the pager goes off. You then exchange the bowl in your spot, with the pager...and the cycle continues. I asked myself what would happen if all 20 pagers were taken, and decided if that happened, you would have to wait since there would be no more space on the grill for your plate anyway. The system worked really well, with all three of us taking advantage of it. Taste wise, I've had better but certainly not for that price. And I just love the efficiency of it all. -- soft serve ice cream was available, and it was very thick and creamy (though a bit off in taste). My wife also mentioned that you can get cotton candy as well. -- Service was good, with an employee in a hostess outfit personally letting us know that she was there to assist us, including getting drinks. She did clear dishes when necessary, but also seemed to be supervising our section. What's interesting is that the same report mentioned King Buffet in Garden Grove, which now seems to be another branch of the Paradise chain. So need to be leery of such reports not being current...but in this case, following its suggestion paid off.

I arrived at this place through a quick google search. I was in the mood for Korean BBQ and in…read moreGardena so the visit was produced by convenience and chance. And, although, I found this place to be good, in the sea of Korean BBQ places this place remains just good, maybe standard, and does not stand head and shoulders above the rest. But I do not mean that as an insult, and if one has perspective this can be praise. For instance, take a ninja. He might not be the ninja that is destined to wheel the throwing stars of destiny, but he still had a stedy career within a vast ninja army. Moreover, being able to steadily continue amongst many might not earn you gold stars on your forehead, but at least it keeps one going on their path till they are ready put their sword and nunchucks down. In other words, there is nothing wrong with being good on average because not all people can climb a mountain in a mythic way, some people climb the mountain through their own speed and step, and never give up, they just stay on their path of good. My partner in bite and I stuck to only three meats--- the chicken, the brisket and the pork belly. And all of these bites were solid but the pork belly was a standout bite. To say that the pork belly was yummy! would be an understatement, for the pork belly was yummy!!!I. I took the brsket, their cabbage salad, a brown sauce that was sweet, and chicken and rice and mixed it in the cabbage salad bowl. All the flavors working together was what made the food spectacular, it had become an ensemble that carried the meal. Truly, the sum of the parts made the whole a flavor blast. In contrast, my dining buddy took a spoon put rice on top, then the brisket on top, then dunk the spoon into a small dish with the brown sweet sauce then deposited the full spoon into his mouth. He assembled each spoonful. I note this to remind all of us that there is no wrong way to eat because I mixed, he assembled, someone else might construct while another might create using the spoon as a brush and the sauce to stroke across a plate. This place did have some practices that were all of its own. My favorite was the water kettle that was brought and poured into the fire to quell its flames. It felt ceremonial, like the kings of the past saw these kettles used when their fire flames needed to be extinguished when they were done with the meal. I also never had a korean noodle soup as part of a korean bbq experience. It kind of tasted like chicken noodle soup more than a korean soup. Some of the small side dishes include radish, and rice paper. Imagine small tortillas. One can use them to make small "tacos" with meat, and vegetables. I just used a lazy explanation to describe the Korean papers and their purpose. It kind of broke the spell of the Korean dining experience. But I went with the words that the server used to explain the papers as well. And there is no clearer way to explain the use of the small circular rice paper wraps than to say one will assemble small Korean tacos with them. There was also potato salad, Kimchee, and other flavor builders. For me it is always fun to construct and enhance my plates with the use of all available to me. And when eating Korean bbq the possibilities are maybe endless. The service was engaging and attentive. Our grill got changed maybe like four times, and there was the kettle that was used to lessen the fire. I did clip a video of the fire ablaze. The fire was high- for a korean bbq grill- and it was tall probably taller than I have ever seen at a Korean place. So this place this offer me that. My partner in grill, noted that the place does not offer us to take meats home. And that they might charge for uneaten food. He worried that we were going be charged at the end for not eating all our meat but we did not leave a lot behind. We just left enough for it to be known as the standard amount that one leaves behind when one engages on AYCE Korean BBQ experience.

Now for the good things which there is a lot: The meat is great. I've noticed that the more popular Korean bbq spots like Gen or 92 in Torrance don't have good meat. This place 100% does. It tastes fresh. As for sides, you get kimchi, white rice, and a couple other things but there's also cilantro & onion mixed together which I thought was different. You get a salad and the assortment of sauce they provide was delicious. Their beer selection is mid but they offer soju too. I'm not very picky with beer. I enjoyed cass with my dinner. The brisket was great and if you like beef bulgogi, you would select their sirloin which is the same. The workers are incredibly friendly. They will change your grill, help put your food on the grill for you, clear out your table, etc etc. They all are very attentive. The tables are circular which is odd and then there's one big table in the back which is kind of in its own little room. I came on a Wednesday night and it was slightly busy so I can only imagine what a weekend night is like here. The music is fun & the food truly is 5 stars. I love Moon bbq. I will be back!

I normally only get nigiri but they put so much rice with theirs that I stopped ordering that after the first round. They seem to be understaffed so that may be why everything took so long. If you don't mind a long wait and you enjoy lots of rice in your sushi then give this place a try!

However, the ambiance did not fit the vibe of the restaurant at all? It overall feels like an awkward space and maybe that's due to how empty it was on a Saturday night. We also had a reservation for two people at 6 pm and requested the bar seat however when we got there, they said they couldn't seat us there because people were coming. That I would have understood if it were true. We were there for the next hour and no one came in except for a big party behind us so the restaurant was practically empty. Then later on when we were about to leave another couple came in and they were given the option to choose where to sit. I somewhat got the feeling that the people just didn't care for their customers. As for the food, I first ordered the karaage as I heard it was really good here, and it was. We got it off the happy hour menu and it came with 3 pieces. the meat was nice and tender and the outside had a really nice crisp. It came with a lemon slice, but it could use a little mayo on the side. the edamame was basic but well salted. The negi gyoza was also pretty basic, but good; it was nice and refreshing. The broiled salmon miso was my favorite. It was cooked very well and the flavor was great with a slight sweetness at the end. The Buta Kimchi was a good size but I was hoping for a little more pork, however it was very savory and the kimchi was very flavorful. The Baked Potato Macaroni with Cheese was a confusing name for what it was. It was a baked Mac and Cheese with just a little bit of potato in it. It had a lot of brown butter taste in it, which I enjoyed but it was a bit over powering. Finally the Happa Original Curry Rice was just alright. It felt pretty good and the meat was nicely stewed. I think it would be even better if it were a bit spicy. With decent food, bad pricing, questionable service and an awkward ambiance, I would not come back and would not recommend this restaurant.

Located on the border of Torrance and Gardena, the restaurant, with its casual décor, is large enough for 60 guests when 2 large round party tables are included. The always-friendly staff brought the menu and water right away. For this visit, we ordered the following dishes (which started arriving within 10 minutes): Roast Duck: As expected, the duck skin was crispy, and the meat was plump, tender and nicely seasoned. Beef Chow Fun: The seasoning was super flavorful, and the glossy, but non-greasy sautéed thick rice noodles had a perfect texture. The beef pieces were tender, and the portion of bean sprouts was just right without overcrowding the dish. Wonton Soup Noodle: The thin noodles were perfectly al dente. The broth was light but flavorful. The wontons had nice thin wraps, and the fillings were well seasoned and with pleasantly firm consistence. We left the restaurant feeling 110% full and satisfied. Highly recommended.
