I noticed there are new owners of this particular location. I hope they read this and make improvements. I have been coming here and ordering hamburgers and I was always surprised at how delicious they were but tonight under the new ownership I had a burger that was not made with love but with cheap ingredients. It was the flattest tasteless thing I've had in a while. Do not keep out this is not up to the IHOP standard. The mashed potatoes were barely warm and to charge $.99 for gravy when generally a little bit of gravy comes with mashed potatoes it's just outright insulting and again ...cheap. We have come many evenings for a pretty good dinner of hamburgers, breakfast items and they have always very good but under the new ownership all I taste is cheap cheap cheap you need to up your game or you're going to loose Your regular customers. Love this location! It's pretty clean, plenty of parking, and never packed (but not too empty to where you're nervous to eat haha). If we ever have problems, the staff is apologetic and quick to fix. As far as diners go, I think IHOP has declined in the last few years but this location is holding on! read more

We haven't been to this location in a good while and since most of the places we liked were closed down, we thought we would give it another try. I don't really like giving bad reviews so I will just say that we probably won't be back. Spent $100 for four people to not even enjoy the meals. My drink was ok (I had a mango lemonade) but my husband and son didn't enjoy that watermelon lemonade (basically a multi colored popsicle sitting in lemonade) drink. Said it tasted like regular lemonade. My daughter had chicken and waffles and I guess she enjoyed it because she ate it all (she's Autistic and if she didn't like it she wouldn't have finished it). I had the fish dinner and unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it because it was just too greasy. My husband had the fisherman's platter. They shorted him one shrimp and the server expected the cook to I guess make up for it (like I guess give him much more) but the cook literally gave him one more (supposed to be 5 but got 4). Haha and put it in a small bowl in a big plate. My husband and son said their shrimp was okay but they didn't enjoy it. They looked understaffed even though when we went (Saturday evening around 8pm) there were hardly any customers. So that is why I said we may return but it won't be anytime soon. Bright spot? Our server Gabriel. Oh I forgot to mention they were out of the chicken fried steak (it's not listed either. We found that out when my son ordered that first and then the server told us it was out) and had to ask for several things like syrup, they forgot the cocktail sauce for the shrimp. Another successful visit, we asked to be seated in Kerriann's section, the dining area was full, but they accomodated us anyway. It has been a few months since we visited but she remebered my order, and what I like to eatat IHOP, very impressive. We were seated quickly despite them being nearly full. Great service and food. We ordered black tea, coffee and waters. I had the (off menu) pigs in a blanket and a biscuit, she had the 55+ french toast with sausage. The food was tasty and cooked well. 4122 Buford Dr IHOP is the best. We've done the one in Cumming and in Suwanee. Not going back to them, not friendly and hospitable as the girls at Buford IHOP. The Manager Brandi is always greeting you with a big Hello and smile to go with it. If there is ever a problem they are quick to correct it. The place is always clean and they have one of the best DMO in the business. I visited IHOP on Sunday at 12:30. The host was excellent and very friendly. I was seated about 15 min after I arrived. They use a mobile app to let you know when your table is ready. Love that. My server did a great job of taking my order and checking on me throughout. Unfortunately from the time I sat down until order was received was almost and hour. That's too long. I ordered 3 pancakes and 3 scrambled eggs and a hot green tea. My bill was $15. Huh! I could have gone to McDonald's and got a big breakfast deluxe with meat, hash brown, biscuit, pancakes and coffee. Which is refillable for $12.00. If I choose to tip at Mcds my bill total maybe $14. But with tip at IHOP, I paid $18.50. That's ridiculous for 3 items. Also there is no way to verify that they gave me three eggs. The portion was very small Looked more like two eggs, than 3. My recommendation is to order fried eggs or over easy to ensure you receive the proper amount. Also the hot tea had an unfamiliar aftertaste. The place was clean and organized. It was just not a good value for the money, especially since I waited over an hour. So if your going to have to wait anyway maybe McDonalds, Bojangles or BK is a better option if you arrive before 10:30am Bojangles you can get breakfast anytime. The wait time may be the same but the cost will be significantly lower. And if you eat in you get free refills on coffee and other drinks. McDonalds has pancakes and fresh scrambled eggs so does Bojangles. read more

Been a while eating at an IHOP. There only seemed to be one server but she kept up ok. Wasn't too busy but not empty either. Started off with rather chicken quesadilla appetizer and it was very good. Maybe just a bit overpriced. Did the fish and chips but subbed the fries for onion rings. Both were tasty except they were out of tartar sauce. Would have been. Ice to know that before hand but the server who had been swapped out for another didn't let me know. I might have ordered something else because I like tartar if eating dolething like that. Both servers were freindly enough though. They have plenty of eggs, pancake, breakfast, and burger options. Just wish they had a couple more dinner/combo ones. I will return but will make sure they're not out of tartar sauce before ordering the fish again, but again it was still good and it's a convenient location for me. Plenty of parking by the restaurant. The restaurant had a decent crowd and only one waitress...she did an amazing job despite being the only one taking care of so many tables. I will say the inside is a bit worn down but the service was good and food actually tasted good too. Mozzarella sticks: came out first and it was hot! Nice and fresh. When you eat it, the cheese pulls out nicely - my kid who doesn't usually even eat cheese was intrigued to try! Steak burger: nice and juicy. It actually stood tall like the picture! Would have been even better if it had a bit of a kick to it. The onion rings were nice and crispy. Breakfast sampler: your typical breakfast items. Pancakes were fluffy. Kids meal: the tenders were a bit dry but the waffles were good! Overall we had a pleasant meal. Can't complain about the cost either. We came to this place after my son kept mentioning this restaurant after reading a book called diary of a wimpy kid. IHOP has been a family restaurant that I enjoyed coming to as a kid and now that I have children of my own it was quite nostalgic and wonderful to bring my children to this family restaurant which is high quality and local. The breakfasts we ordered all came with pancakes eggs and a few proteins which made for a hearty breakfast and wonderful meal full of making memories which we will remember. Our waitress was very kind and helped to make the experience memorable and one that is noteworthy which is why I felt like this Yelp review needed to happen. I am happy to announce that this restaurant gets the seal of approval from our family to yours. The worst IHOP experience EVER. Walked in 45 minutes before they closed (I know, not ideal but the tip would be worth it). The waitress sat us down while another one came over full of attitude to ask us if we were sure we wanted to stay. She asked for our drink order then disappeared - we had to ask for menus, we had to ask for silverware - we had to ask for refills...we had to find her every time we needed something. Mind you - there is no one else in the restaurant, we were the only customers. She didn't put in 2 of our orders so we had to wait even longer to get the last 2 people in our party fed. Also they were out of half the items we wanted - waffles, avocado, cheese, and strawberries. The chicken strips were burnt to a crisp, the marinara sauce was watered down and lettuce salad was warm. We tell one of the guys in the restaurant was the manager but he never came over to check on us or ask how everything was. So they clearly don't care what kind of service or food people receive. They need to train their employees how to handle customers and make sure to serve them in a timely manner. Hot food should be served hot and drinks should be refilled without having to search for a server. If you are serving a happy face pancake, put enough effort into it to make it look happy. We have 2 toddlers so we go for brunch on weekends even though it's very crowded during those hours. Service is what stands out; food is ready pretty quickly, and the quality and value are better here than at other locations/competitors. Reviews have been accurate. 3 star location. The service was okay. People were nice. Food was okay. They did run out of the fried chicken patty and we came in at about 9 PM. But I mostly came to try the grinch pancakes. They were good! I had to remind them to not charge us for the kids meal (they eat free 4 pm -10 pm every day) when we went to pay. It was an okay visit. We attempted to go to the Buford GA location about 2 weeks ago and it was a huge disaster for our party of 3. We suffered through the 30 and were seated. We got up and left after two other parties with 3 and 4 were seated after use, had their drink order not only take but served before we ever saw our waiter/waitress. I have driven by here hundreds of times and never stopped after seeing all the cars so finally stopped by starving after early service last Sunday by myself craving some eggs hash browns and bacon and good coffee. This place was packed pretty early! You would think the force was strong with them but since I live next to a waffle house and will hit it for a breakfast fix, thought I would try a "more ..uh... attractive" place to indulge.
